Austin did an amazing job on matching black and white sunflower tattoos for my fiance and me! he was enjoyable to chat with and busted out amazing work incredibly quick! he also recommended a sandwich shop to us that we tried right after we left, and that was great too! thank you, Austin, for helping make our stay in Kansas so amazing!

Dennis is amazing. Hes very fun and a cool guy. He did a cover up on my arm and did my back for me and hes always so thoughtful and ensures that youre comfortable the whole time. I definitely recommend going here because everyone is so light and friendly. Its always a good welcoming time there. They are also good with pricing and reasonable if necessary!

All of my tattoos have been from here with Gomez and Austin doing them and someone who came in the shop from somewhere else to do one not pictured. They have always been friendly make sure everything is alright for me when I am getting them done. If they aren’t comfortable doing something they will let you know which artist is the better one to go to. I love this tattoo shop and hope to get more at some point

Had an appt with Chris months out and he had forgotten everything we emailed about. Told me the day of appt as I’m sitting down for the tattoo that certain things I wanted in the tattoo wouldnt work, so I was the one creating ideas on the spot.. not him who is the “artist” Was disrespectful as this was a tattoo for my cat that had just passed away in a traumatic way.He ended up causing a scar on my tattoo, on my cat. Which made me sad to even look at the messed up tattoo for so long.Good luck rescheduling touch ups, they completely blew me off and kept giving me different numbers and emails to contact to set it up. They did this on purpose. Should not have to talk to 4 diff people for a touch up… After a week I got an appt but at that point did not even want to support this place or the artist.Dont recommend this place. People who worked there also made fun of potential clients after they left if they didn’t like the tattoo they wanted. I watched this happened multiple times while waiting inside for my appointment. Very unprofessional. Some “silly” tattoo idea could have deep meaning to someone else.

Man this place is awesome they really make you feel welcomed. They understand what you want and do it. The ladies up front are patient and hard working especially when they have a lot of walk ins! My guy Dennis has done most of my tattoos and I never wanna go anywhere else! He’s funny, interesting and understanding just like his music lol(that’s a compliment). They were my first real professional tattoo experience and they did awesome thanks guys keep up the hard/good work:) 10/10

This was my first tattoo and I went with a recommendation from my siblings for Artist at Large and Dennis for the tattoo artist. I was so pleased with the whole experience! I was scheduled out for a month but I live 4hrs away from Wichita so that worked out really well for me. Setting up an appointment was very easy to do through email, they were very responsive. Dennis was so kind, patient and encouraging and he did an amazing job! This only took him about an hour to do. I couldn’t have asked for a better first-time tattoo experience!

We walked in with a vague idea of what we wanted and a lot of of excitement. Then gomez did some magic and we walked out with far better than we imagined! Only a little over an hour on each piece and they look amazing! Will be a repeat client and tell everyone how awesome this shop is. I also heard that they do walk-ins every Saturday!!!

From what I know, this place and these artists are by far the best in town. The shop is always clean. My artist, Austin, is very good at what he does and was very patient and kind. The whole crew seem to be great people and I will always use this shop!

I had a tattoo of a brain put on my left upper arm because of a successful brain surgery that I had. Austin is the tattoo artist that did the work and is great at his work!!

I’ve gotten a majority of my tattoos done at this shop. I see Gomez. He’s done my sleeve work as well as some writing I have. He’s quiet but extremely friendly! You can tell when he’s tattooing that he’s very passionate about his work and how it turns out. He’s also great with aftercare and will walk you through what to do once you leave the shop to ensure your tattoo heals properly. 10/10 would recommend Gomez to anyone. Every style of tattoos I’ve seen him do are amazing.

Went with my two sisters, they both got tattoos, I didnt get a tattoo but was there the entire time. They had a huge crowd outside at 11:40 so 20 minutes before they even opened, which, according to them, was unprecedented. There tattoos came out amazing! Thanks Gomez!!!

I was a walk-in. My first impression was great. I was greeted by a very nice lady who wrote down/saw the approximate size of what I wanted. I mentioned making small changes to the pictures I showed her and she assured me I would get to discuss it with the tattoo artist prior to receiving them. Everyone seemed cool and friendly from what I could see. Ive been to two other wonderful tattoo studios in Wichita and felt the same great vibe there as well. But then I met my tattoo artist, Gomez. He was a complete jerk to me from the very beginning. I brought in a copied Pinterest photo and asked him to customize it. It was a silhouette of a woman and I asked him to add a line for hair. Simple right? He kept repeating you gotta tell me what you want. I was trying. Well thats not what you brought in referring to the copied picture. I told him to forget it, just do the copied picture. He either didnt want to be there or he didnt want to tattoo me. I caught that vibe from the get go. I even asked him before we started, if you dont want to do it, I can go somewhere else. I shouldve left and trusted my gut feeling because It was an awful experience. Even when I was lying on the table, I mentioned it stinging and kinda laughed while holding very still, just trying to lighten the mood and he said very bluntly its a tattoo. They hurt. I had planned on two tattoos walking in. We finished one then the attitude came on full force again when I asked him what colors he thought would look good on the next tattoo. I said youre the artist, I am not. I trust you to choose what colors would look good on my skin tone. I was completely open to any color. He said You gotta tell me what you want. After hearing that for like the 4th time I chose to leave. Its really unfortunate. My other tattoos were such great experiences as they should be!

Dennis does phenomenal work and I will continue going to him. I cant speak for the others there, but have a strong feeling they too are outstanding! Molly is always willing to help and get things appropriately set-up. Wont go anywhere else

Showed up an hour before opening time, waited thru long line to get the planning part which we did so far so good, spent all that time waiting and prepping to get tattooed, when I had sat down right before getting cleaned, artist started to critique the piece wanted, wasn’t crazy big or complicated was just a maybe 3-3/12 inch by 1/2 inch tattoo, simple line work really and was trying to get talked into either not getting it where I wanted to changing it, significantly and strongly felt bc artist wasn’t comfortable with the line work or think it could be pulled off…. Anyway when we settled on the final piece, Artist got up and said couldn’t do it today, had to set up an appointment smh hours of waiting and what seemed like a back and forth unpleasant experience turned into a one star review, experience and definitely not coming back or recommending lol smh

This was my verry first tattoo canary made me feel very comfortable it was a comfortable and safe enviorment and it came out so pretty they are verry well priced to thank you guys

So I had a situation when I had to take out jewelry that I never take out and couldnt get back in. So they where able to help me out in a quick friendly way, got me back to normal feeling and out the door quick.

Austin was great! My son and I were getting tattoos for the first time and he made the experience very pleasant. All of the artist we spoke to were very nice. The store was extremely clean, including the bathrooms. The music was loud and not my style, but Im sure there was a reason for it and after being there for a while it started to grow on me.

Didn’t get inked here yet but I’m planning to… they were very helpful and knowledgeable about my tattoo issue… I definitely will go back an get inked up from them

I got my first tattoo here a little over a year ago--my artist was Shelly (who is no longer there), but she did amazing! Its a large scale piece of my side. Amazing line work and no fading. Very happy with the piece. Overall, the staff is amazing. Very kind-hearted, genuinely nice people! Go get your ink done here.

I’ve gotten 2 tattoos here (Dennis and Chad are great). Both were easy to talk to and were conscious of pain and them being my first and only 2 tattoos. Both times I only ended up paying about 75% of what was quoted to me and the tattoos turned out better than I could have hoped! I’ll be sure to come back here for my partial sleeve that I want.

Got my first tattoo here when I was 17. My best friend had just passed away, so I got a tattoo to remember him by. My dad drove the two hours to get to Wichita and got a tattoo also. It was a walk-in, and what I was wanting was a little more than a normal walk in. Dennis worked with me, and made sure I got what I was wanting. He did an amazing job, and was extremely nice to work with. That was almost ten years ago, and the tattoo still looks awesome.

Went in yesterday for a piercing. Everyone was super friendly and the shop was very clean! Their peircer was AMAZING and very professional. She was easy to talk to made me feel really at ease! I will definetly go back and refer all of my friends here!

Austins line work is absolutely terrible (hes lazy and just goes as fast as he can to get you out and take your money as well [I regret tipping him.].), if you chose this shop for ink, avoid Austin at all costs. Chad Phillips did great, though. Definitely recommend Chad to anyone looking for some great ink.

Yea..I met with Dennis, he was very professional and gave me his card but when I asked about booking 2 small sized tatoos for the weekend, he said to call and speak to the lady for scheduling. I said okay sounds good! I was excited! I tried calling a couple times and didnt get an answer. So then I just decided to go down there since I was in the area.. she came to the door did not invite me in and said that she most likely wasnt going to have time for several weeks and all I was wanting was a couple of smaller tattoos.. She was a little rude and stand offish and so then I thought I would try calling and catch at a better time since when I came it was almost closing time. I called and she said that they might be able to do it Saturday but no guarantees because theyre pretty booked and to send a message on messenger of what I was wanting done so I did and only response I got was that they no longer offer piercings there and then several hours later she responded saying it was gonna be in the 200-$300 range but if they had time they would let me know.. didnt ask for my phone number either. I called this afternoon spoke to her she said I spoke to somebody else when Im pretty sure it was her... I could tell by her voice. She said that they probably wont have time and that she would give me a call if they did and she said do we have your phone number? I said I dont know do you? And she said let me look at the message then she said whats my number? I gave her my phone number and then she immediately hung up she didnt say good bye or anything! So rude! Ill just go somewhere else. Maybe its because Im attractive female when she seen my Facebook photo. Why else would she be kind to me on the phone but short and rude in person or on messenger? So weird! Im really upset about it actually because I chose this place because I dont just want to go anywhere. One place I went to seemed dis-organized and another I choose not to go because of sanitary reasons..and this place seemed like my style..Dennis seemed genuine and experienced and that is exactly what I was wanting! Please reach out to me to make this right! I really want to give this place another chance!!

Customer service is lacking. Not very nice staff. They were Pretty rude actually. The artist was friendly. Gave good education after she was done. Overall not a bad experience but wont go back. Dont recommend one way or another. Satisfied with the job which is what counts.

When I first came in the gal at the counter was very patient with me as someone with autism I appreciate it.When I came in for my appointment the design was worng at first but still looked great.When I told the artist it was wrong he fixed it right away.Once the tattoo was done it looked amazing!The tattoo artist was very patient with me as well.

I came in to get a small tattoo and the guy was completely rude. He acted like he couldn’t care less about what he was doing and had an attitude the entire time. He got upset about my opinions for my own tattoo, got upset for wanting to move it, and created a horrible atmosphere. About a month later, my tattoo is blown out and starting to look horrible. Awful awful customer service and clearly bad technique.

Should be called con-artist at large!! My wife and her friend went in yesterday to get two very small tattoos and were maybe in the building an entire 30 min. They charged them $300!!! Actual tattooing took around 5 min at most. Will never go to that shop again!!

The place is VERY clean and well kept. It was my first tattoo experience, and of course it was a little painful lol, but they did an AMAZING job. Take your business here! I searched every tattoo place in Wichita, and Im glad that I decided on Artist At Large. Five star experience. Tim Gomez was my artist, and he was true to his quote, even though the tat took longer than expected. I tipped him very well, and he definitely deserved it! Hope this helps!

All the artists are great. I had my chest piece done by Dennis Mcphail, it was a large piece and he did a great job, in a short amount of time for a good price. I couldnt be happier!

I went here when I turned 18. Got a red tattoo on my fore arm. It itched like crazy constantly, but I didnt touch it. I took really good care of it. 6 months later, it still itched like a ton of fire ants. Found out this is called red reaction. When I went back 6 months after getting it and told them about it they said it was perfectly natural and would go away on its own in 2 weeks. It still itches to this day. I have an identical tattoo (with much better line work, shout out to bleeding heart tattoo) and it had zero red reactions. Same with the red tattoo on my chest. I guess aal is okay with getting cheap, self mixed red inks and risking life long red reaction for their customers. Not cool.
