Went in for 3 new piercings w/ Christine, and she was great! She was very warm and friendly from the get go, and informative about each step and what to expect. She was so patient as we talked about placement and what would look and work best jewelry wise. She was (along w/ the rest of the shop) was clean & sanitary, which is of utmost importance. The front end staff was very friendly, informative & patient as well, answering questions and concerns as much as she could! This place was highly recommended and did not disappoint!

I went to Oak & Poppy for ear piercing and to check it out for a place to get a tattoo (my first). The shop has a very nice, relaxed and most importantly clean atmosphere. Also, a very comfortable place for women to get tattooed. The staff is friendly and professional. The jewelry selection is awesome. I went to Donnie and she was so nice and took the time to explain the best spot for my new piercing, as well as the after care. I will definitely be back for the tattoo. Thank you O&P for such a fun experience!

Ivy switched out my jewelry for me and cleaned the piercings that were problematic. She was very nice and knowledgeable plus sweet to my pup. I’ve been to 4 piercing salons and Oak and Poppy is by far THE MOST DOG FRIENDLY! I love their jewelry selection - the best and most reasonably priced. I’ve been to both their locations and both were worth the one hour drive from Long Beach.

I booked ahead of time for some piercings after reviewing the Google reviews.What an amazing place.They have a vast array of real gold jewelry to allow you to get what you want inserted upon piercing- no need to wait with the original jewelry to heal prior to exchanging.The staff are professional, easy going and Josh made the experience even better with his laid back attitude and knowledge base.The parlour itself is clean, well decorated.You get what you pay for- excellent service and jewelry.I will come back for more & maybe some tattoos.

Oak & Poppy is a great piercing place in the Valley! Highly Recommend! Especially Lucy, she was so knowledgeable and helpful! 10/10 Definitely going back to her for my next piercings!

I came here with my five years old daughter to pierce her ears. The girl was very gentle and she made sure to comfort my daughter so my little one wasn’t scared at all in the end. She was very proud of herself. I would definitely recommend this place!

First off this place is really nice, not like you imagine a tattoo/piercing place. Then you have Donnie the piercer who is awesome. She did my young daughters ears because my husband insisted she get a proper piercing, not one with a gun at the mall. She is SUCH a sweet and caring person. She took her time with marking their piercing spots until they were perfect. She really took her time to talk about what was going to happen, encouraged her while she was piercing, and gave plenty of aftercare information and what to expect. It barely hurt her she didnt even flinch. Donnie has a laid back relaxed vibe that just puts you at ease which is really important with piercings. She is so gentle and sweet with kids and my daughters ears never even looked like they had been pierced recently. With her instructions they never swelled or got red, youd never even know she had them freshly pierced and they healed so well I was so impressed. I then took her to the mall because I promised to get her a Build-A-Bear afterwards and as we were walking up we hear a girl around her age scream and start crying from inside Clairs across the way. That girl had just been shot in the ear with an earring gun. My daughter and I both felt relieved she didnt go through that.

My first tattoo experience with Brenno surpassed all expectations.Despite my tiny and intricate design, he executed it flawlessly, leaving me pain-free and relaxed throughout.The final result was amazingly beautiful and earned praise from everyone who sees it.I highly recommend Brenno for his exceptional skill.

I went in on a Saturday looking for a replacement/spare labret for my lip piercing. Spoke with a lovely person at the front who helped me choose and explained a few things to me about the products. Very knowledgeable about what was available and such, including measurements (I think her name was Jackie? Im sorry IDR).Asked if there were piercers there who do genital piercings (VCH) and got a consultation/piercing appointment next day with the one piercer there who does them (I think she is the only one).Came in the next day and an apprentice (whose name Im sorry I also forgot) helped me through the process of signing papers, picking jewelry (got a cute curved barbell with a lovely sapphire-blue gem at one end) and everything else. Very respectful and kind people. The apprentice asked if I would be willing to let her sit in so that she may watch and learn, to which I said yes. (Of course! Why wouldnt someone be willing to let someone be in the same room to observe and learn from a mentor? Happy to help her in her craft)Donnie was very welcoming and warm and put me at ease through the whole process. She explained the process step by step while also taking time to make sure the apprentice could learn and observe. Donnie answered all my questions and informed me on aftercare. She told me when she was about to make the hole and when to take a deep breath. The piercing hurt (obviously. There are a lot of nerve endings down there! Haha) but it was over quickly and I am extremely happy with the result.I bought a saline solution spray along with the rest and was given a cute paper bag with aftercare instructions printed as well as a business card.Very happy with my experience. Will likely go back when I get my other lip piercing redone (got a not-so-great job done a different studio...)The jewelry is also very high quality and you can ask them about materials as well. The staff are very knowledgeable.My only gripe about the Oak and Poppy is that, to my knowledge, the piercers do not have online portfolios outside of Instagram profiles (I had looked at several of them beforehand) which makes it a bit hard to come in confident about certain piercings. Cant exactly show genital or nipple piercings on Insta or FB. Would help potential clients feel better, I think. Most of the stuff on Insta from what I remember seeing was ear piercings and nose piercings. While I trust Donnie now that Ive spoken to her and been pierced by her, the social media accounts of the piercers dont exactly inspire confidence in the variety of piercings available.Still, I would definitely go here again. Loved it. Absolutely recommend if youre looking to get pierced!

Very unprofessional. Do not get any tattoos done by Brenn_o. He will lie about the time he spent doing your tattoo.. got the date wrong on the tattoo he did on me after I texted him exactly what I wanted done on me lucky I caught it on time and had him correct it. Does not know how to follow instructions. He has no communication skills. Total loser. Bad vibes

The place is very clean and they are sooo nice. I got a nose piercing and it was very quick and VERY little pain. The place and the people are definitely a vibe.

100% recommend against going here. If you want a quality place to get pierced with people who know what they are doing and care about your experience, try Nathan’s down the street. You’ll not regret it like my sister is regretting coming here. My sister got her nose pierced here a couple months ago and they decided for her to give a long post for fear of inflammation- weird decision as that’s not really supposed to be an issue and every one I know (myself included) have gotten short posts for a simple nose piercing. They then told her to not come back for 6 months, regardless of her wants, before they would shorten the post. Well my sister has had multiple issues with this unnecessarily long post snagging on things, culminating in her tearing it out accidentally when taking off her glasses. Instead of being compassionate, due to their own misguided decision they made for her and offering a discount on a replacement (she couldn’t find the jewelry), they condescendingly told her no and she would need to pay full price. They gaslight her and said that she knows her body better than them and she should have come in sooner to shorten the post, which is the exact opposite of what she was told when getting the piercing. I’m pissed and want to convince anyone and everyone I know to not come here, they only care about their perception rather than their actual practice. And quick note to the business directly- don’t bother responding to me here to save face unless you plan on giving my sister a partial refund due to your shoddy choices.

Came here to get my ears pierced. Pretty place and friendly staff, but it was very overpriced and I was very disappointed to learn I couldnt remove the jewelry myself - after already getting the piercings done.Note that if you want to get pierced here you have to buy their jewelry - they wont use your own. When I agreed to buy some of theirs I was told all their jewelry was professional grade, which I thought just meant good quality; apparently it also means that the jewelry can only be removed by a professional. This wasnt mentioned to me at any point and since I was piercing my earlobes it never crossed my mind to confirm - I assumed earrings were removable, because who wears the same earrings all the time?So I got my ears pierced and they suggested I get longer backs on the earrings until they healed and said to come back in 8 weeks so I could get the normal backs on them. Only when I came back and got the backings changed was I told that the earrings werent removable - and on top of that I had to pay for the second backings plus a separate fee for the jewelry change...In total it wound up being $60 for just the second visit and over $350 for the first one, and Ill have to go somewhere and have the earrings cut off if I want to change them....The whole experience does not sit well with me at all. I never leave bad reviews, but in this case I feel like I got ripped off and it seemed like the right thing to do. Maybe for tattoos it would be different but I wouldnt recommend this place for piercings.

Came here for a walk in on a piece i wanted and was able to get it done super quick and very good with. i loved the experience and environment i came back to get another and set up an appointment and everyone was welcoming and very easy to help :)

My favorite place to get a professional piercing. I made a reservation online, and was able to choose my jewelry when I got there. Quick, clean, and caring! When my daughter is old enough this is where I want to get her ears pierced.

Sean at Oak & Poppy was the sweetest guy and wanted things special for my daughter from the start. She wanted to commemorate the end of her cancer treatment with piercing her ears with one of her besties. Sean immediately said he’d come to the house before they opened (which was so nice to avoid the germs at the moment)!! He was patient and gentle with our 8yrs olds and they left smiling and delighted!! It couldn’t have been better. I will recommend him again and again. Thank you Sean for making my daughter’s ‘No Mo Chemo’ celebration the BEST! A truly amazing experience!!

Called and made an appointment a couple days prior. We were instructed to email an image/description of the tattoo we wanted along with approximately how large we wanted it & a description of any adjustments we might want. This really sped up the process. We filled out consent forms and got the meet our artist (David) under ten minutes after entering the shop.His design was perfect & required no adjustments. Although, had we required adjustments he was open to making changes.He thoroughly cleaned and prepared his station, cutting no corners. The shop was gorgeous, very clean, professional and inviting.Tattoos came out flawless. Absolutely perfect. Thanks David & Oak and Poppy. Highly recommend this establishment for your tattoo/piercing needs.

I just got my ear pierced by Kari and all I have to say is I am obsessed with her she is so sweet and did an amazing job!

This place is incredibly clean and instantly makes you feel safe. The staff here are exceptional. I lost 3 lip rings that I had to take out at work the y were able to get me all squared away for a great price. I will definitely be coming back to get tattooed.

Went Friday for a piercing with Ivy. Had 2 conch piercings done hardly felt anything. She did an awesome job! She was super patient and helped me pick out some great jewlery. Im very pleased with my new tattoo. These guys were fun to talk to and very friendly. It was done in 45 minutes. And it barely hurt! These were professionals and I trust them. They even showed proof that they were using new needles to calm my nerves. Come here for your tattoos! 100% recommend!!!

Great experience! I got my nose pierced on a Sunday afternoon as a walk-in. I was greeted by the front staff in a very friendly manner. Since this was my first body piercing, I had no idea what a piercing entailed. The front staff advised me on what type of nose ring would look good on my nose. Once I picked the right one for me, I was guided to their private piercing rooms. The room was very clean and sanitary. Kari Spector, piercer, came in and guided me through the whole process. She was very informative which helped ease my nerves. Her technique for piercing my nose was excellent as I did not feel any pain, just some discomfort. I loved how Kari made sure my piercing looked good on my nose. She marked and erased the mark on my nose various times until she found the correct placement for my piercing to look good. I appreciated that attention to detail. I bought the Briotech topical skin spray they sell there, and it has helped heal my nose piercing. Kari explained that I will need to come in at the six-month mark to get my back replaced with a shorter one and that it will take at least a year to fully heal. It has been about two weeks now since Ive gotten it done and I dont feel any type of discomfort anymore. Ive gotten many compliments for my piercing. I highly recommend you come here!

Took my spouse for their first tattoo today, after getting mine in January. Gone a couple times with others to get piercings as well. Knowledgable and talented staff, very personable as well. John K did my tattoo as a spur of the moment walk-in and really listened to my ideas and help refine them according to what I wanted. His playlist was excellent as well. Not cheap but neither is good art. Recommend highly!

I’m so happy that I found Oak and Poppy, and specifically Kari! Kari is what every piercer should aspire to—she cares about her clients and really knows her stuff. She helped me with 1 new piercing and adjusting some existing ones that needed some professional TLC. Yes the place is a bit pricey, but you get what you pay for with piercings (and I assume tattoos but I don’t have any of those). HIGHLY RECOMMEND!

Got my navel piercing done here with kari and she was super helpful and talked me through everything since i was a little nervous. the whole staff was super nice and helpful with helping me pick out jewelry and making sure that i was able to support the piercing. highly recommend!

I have been to this store before I have had many piercings and have bought jewelry there before and even replacements and never had a problem but the lady that was at the counter today at 7:30pm didn’t want to sell me jewelry for my piercing. First time ever that they tellMe someone has to put the piercing on me! Super rude really worst kind of human vibe. She said they needed special tools (regular pliers and hands) I went to another store not wasting my time with people with issues.

Went in to get a tattoo tonight and I love this place! nice fireplace in the waiting area to help you relax before its your turn, bougie kind of atmosphere. great flash on the walls in case you need ideas. yeah, its not cheap, but its quality!

Amazing place! Extremely clean and visually inviting! Everyone is very attentive, patient, and willing to answer all questions. Ive had a piercing done with Donnie and FIRST tattoo with Brenno. Both were amazing and totally chill people! Brenno helped bring my vision of what I wanted into focus, and created/designed exactly what I was looking for. Im so happy with the results and will be returning for more! I was really nervous about getting a tattoo, but Brenno has a very pleasant demeanor and was not heavy-handed. I didnt experience any of the crazy pain that I was worried about! I didnt get an elaborate tattoo, but what I did get (script writing and a cross design) resulted in solid coloring and detailed lines. I showed other friends who have plenty of their own tattoos, and they remarked how amazing the work was; especially the clean lines and solid shading. Thank you, Brenno! If youre impatient like me (smile), be ready to lock in an appointment because ALL the artists are amazing and crazy busy!

Joshua did my original nose piercing 6 months ago and I went back to shorten the post and replace the jewelry. Super clean place and Joshua is always super nice and ensures you’re comfortable every step of the way. Oak and Poppy is the only place I recommend for piercings!

Kari is the most professional and talented piercer I have ever met. I would never go to any other piecer. She gives the best styling and aftercare advice and the piercings she’s done for me have been healing like a dream.

Was in LA for the night and decided to stop and see if i can repierce my tragus. Super quick and very professional. The girls at the counter helped me out. My piercer Christine was so sweet and so gentle! I would 100% recommend and will be returning for future piercings!

This place changes rules depending on the girls that is tending the lobby. Ir depending on who the customer is!!! You can have luck or be super unlucky. I have been there more than 10 times and the last time I was there a blonde woman didn’t want to sell me a piece of jewelry because apparently “I needed special tools” (pliérs and hands) she maybe thought that was smart but it just makes her look very lame and discriminating and her piercing lady was out sick so unless you pay for an Appoitnment you can’t buy their jewelry. So even though the store was open and there were plenty of jewelry for my ear I couldn’t buy anything because that woman didn’t feel like it. I like stores that you can count on specially when you lost a piercing and need one asap. I won’t be coming back they can keep their jewelry for themselves and use their special tools to get more customers

Walked in and was IMMEDIATELY greeted by a lovely young woman. I was impressed since in todays society it is highly unusual yet greatly appreciated. I was looking to replace my nose ring. She directed me to the various cases of the 2 metals they carry. Not only was she patient but very understanding while I vacillated between a few options and answered all of my questions. Shes explained all the costs and procedures involved with the install. Once I finally made my decision she went to set up the room. She then escorted me into the room and within a few minutes the artist who would place the ring entered. She asked a few questions in an effort to assess how best to place my ring. After she was done I was given a mirror to admire her handy work. She sensed my slight hesitation and went to confer with the young woman who set up the room. After comparing my first choice to my second runner up I knew I made the right decision and walked out happy.

I went to dave and he gave my girlfriend and i our first tattoos. He helped her with her design and the end result for us both was much more than we could have ever hoped for. He is a true pro and is a nice guy too. Facility had great music and a good relaxed atmosphere.

Hands down, we could not have asked for a better experience.5 years ago, we took my older daughter to get her navel pierced for her 18th birthday. Sean pierced her and he was so professional and kind.Fast forward to today. We took our younger daughter to get her nose pierced. Christine at the front was a total sweetheart. She helped my daughter pick out her nose jewelry and made us feel so welcome. She let us know that she was going to go sterilize the jewelry and Sean would come get us when he was ready. When he came over, he greeted us like old friends. It had been 5 years but he still said to us Youre back 😁 with the kindest demeanor. He immediately made my daughter feel comfortable.We made our way back to the piercing room and this place is IMMACULATE. I cannot tell you how clean this shop is. My daughter sat down, Sean marked her nose and made some small talk. He was done before she even noticed he had started. She felt NO pain. He was so gentle, and even wiped away a stray teardrop.My daughter was most impressed by his clear aftercare instructions. She loved how he gave them. Short and sweet without over explaining or dumbing it down.I cannot begin to express how much this place can just make you feel good. The entire staff is very friendly and Sean is quite honestly the most genuine human being around. You definitely get what you pay for here.

The service was nice. Super friendly. But what i didnt like was the fact that this is a very reputable and fancy studio, so you would think they would know to not put a small hoop in a fresh daith to prevent irritation bumps (which is common sense in the piercing community). Its almost like they gave me a small one on purpose so i can come back and be charged for an upsize and for another jewelry piece once i got the piercing bumps. Would go to cheaper reputable studio next time

If I could give -10 stars I would. I was ready to spend money on 3 of their gold pieces until the incompetent stuck up workers allowed a white woman to walk literally in front of me and pick a piece. They were immediately attentive to her and quite literally started ignoring me. I genuinely got so upset I had to leave. Ridiculous hospitality.

Not only is Oak and Poppy absolutely gorgeous, but it is clean, organized, and ran by COVID safe professionals. I absolutely love my rook piercing and my sister loves her helix. We were lucky walk ins that arrived at the perfect time. I would recommend making an appointment beforehand to make sure you will be seen (they are understandably a little understaffed because of COVID), but you might get lucky like my sister and me! Staff was super kind and helpful and they have a beautiful, wide range of jewelry. 10/10 would recommend to a friend (or anyone haha)

Got my nose pierced by Sean 3 weeks ago. So quick and easy, barely felt it. Great hands. Healing process has been seamless since he gave me so much information about the process. Everyone in the shop was helpful and great.

As soon as I heard my niece wanted her ears pierced I knew we had to go to Oak & Poppy to have Donnie do it. Donnie is so sweet and AMAZING with kids. Not only is the shop super cute and clean but extremely comfortable to have kids at. Donnie explained everything to my niece every step of the way so she was comfortable and not nervous. My niece said “It was 10000 times better than getting a shot and she’s glad she didn’t go to a ‘gun shop’ (Claire’s, Justice etc)”

Got my first ever tattoo last Sunday by incredibly talented John Kline. He was so welcoming and professional and made this experience easy and fun. Studio is perfectly clean with laid back vibe. You walk in and instantly feel welcome.

Was recommended this place by Ten thousand waves tattoo gallery. I made the mistake of going to the other tattoo place that i got a bad review and then came here. (Should have listened!)Ivy was amazing with the service, she explained all the legal barriers that are currently in place due to COVID-19 and how they are limited in their services. She told me how she was legally able to help and everything went very smooth.Will be coming back!THANKS!!

I did my first tattoo here with John today. I was really nervous about the pain but John was so professional and made me calm. I am very satisfied. The whole team was really nice and professional. Thank you ❤️

I went here because they had good reviews. I got in the tattoo chair and he said you know there is a $100 minimum right? It says it in contract. Whenever I went to pay he charged me $150 probably because it was my first time getting a tattoo. (I got a small ring finger double heart tattoo) On top of that there are multiple squiggly lines. Not impressed. Got me in quickly while it was busy but otherwise shady, not impressed.

Came to get my ears pierced and staff was friendly, knowledgeable, and clean with materials. I was instantly greeted by the manager when I walked in and she was happy to help and very genuine. I will definitely be coming back!

Fabiola did a great job on my tattoos; I love them so much. The shop was clean and organized and the people were nice. Theres parking behind the shop in the alley and meters out front. I would definitely get tattooed again by Fabiola in the future.

Ok, so today i was referred to this marvelous looking place so I decided to stop in because I was working in the area. I entered and began to look around at the photos on the wall. I was patiently waiting just for a staff member to at least acknowledge me. Granted they were busy so I continued to look. Well a few more minutes went by and a staff member looked me directly in my eyes and looked away. I dont know how there work is and I never will but I believe customer service is everything. It could have just been an oversite it was two guys moving a table around in the back. That being said, my sisters say I make excuses for everyone:). The one star is for the really nice set up they have.

Super sterile piercing. Got my cartilage done here.Wonderful selection of jewelry. Overall super impressed. It was super quick and done with a needle. I would totally recommend this place. Everyone was very friendly.

Pierced my daith without a captive bead, as they let me choose the jewelry I had no former knowledge that you are suppose to be pierced with that type of jewelry.. I picked one without one and now it’s giving me SOO many problems due to the fact that the opening keeps scratching the inside of the piercing :/ went back to my regular piercer and was told that they may have to take it out and re-pierce it....

Absolutely amazing!! I got my septum pierced and my fiance got a tattoo and everyone was amazing and funny. Definitely coming back!

Went for piercings and the service was amazing. Everyone was nice and the shop is clean and welcoming.There is parking in the back, although very limited.

Busy at times but always great. Sean was super helpful and kind helping me with some jewelry this time. But I always have a great experience here.
