Went in for a walk-in tattoo. Had a great experience! I was in and out in an hour. Donnie did a fantastic job. Super clean lines. Everyone was nice and welcoming. Would definitely go back for another one.

I was very disappointed with my tattoo. I went in there with my own design, was originally told they could not do it because the lines would be too thin (which was fine by me because Id much rather be told they cant do it rather than have a permanently messed up tat on my body), but the artist ended up assuring me he could do it the way I wanted. He drew up a stencil, and it looked exactly like how Id drawn it myself, so essentially I was very excited! Unfortunately, the finished product was messy, left lots of scarring, and looked dissimilar to the stencil (please note that the ink had smudged quite a bit on the picture of the stencil, but he told me it wouldnt be a problem as he could see the lines clearly through the smudging), not to mention the lines were not thin like he assured me they would be. I have included a photo of the stencil and the tattoo to show the differences between the two.Please dont get me wrong, I know some of the artists here are great. My boyfriend tagged along with me and got his first tattoo ever there, and his looks fantastic! He did have a different artist though. But I was so disappointed with mine that I immediately went home and called a tattoo removal service, and I am currently in the process of getting it removed. I just wanted to leave this review so others are a bit more wary and wont have to pay $1800 to get a tattoo removed that they really wanted but ended up being done very poorly.

I love this place! The people and environment were nice and comforting. Gabby/Gabbie did my tattoo and she was very sweet, had a lot of personality, and was a pleasure to talk to. She’s also very skilled and professional and I love the tattoo I got! The tattoo was a fair price as well! I’d recommend getting a tattoo from here as I will again!

Came in off a recommendation from my mother, whose ink was done by Brandy. No appointment, walk-in off the street, but shout-out to Nate, with the amazing customer service. He took great care of me, and was able to plan, sketch, and tat all that same day/session. Fantastic line work, with some damn fine shading.The shop itself was clean, but had that lived-in atmosphere that reassures the customer with the knowledge their artist is a true professional. All-in-all, I too, would highly recommend Army-Navy to anybody looking for some quality ink!

My husband and I came in during our anniversary vacation as walk ins. The energy was chill, the artists were professional, and the facility was clean. Jade did my tattoo and did a FANTASTIC job! Not only was her line work great, but her personality and customer service was amazing. It felt like sitting with someone I had known forever, because she was so friendly and personable. It was great to have such a good experience in a place that not only delivered amazing work, but also amazing service.

I have been coming to this shop for years and always have a great experience. Today was no exception as I got my first big tattoo (half sleeve). Valorink was amazing to work with. She helped bring my vision to life and was gentle throughout the process. I look forward to coming back and working with her again! Went with my son to get his birthday tattoo, the entire staff was so welcoming and kind. They drew his tattoo right on the spot and fit me in for “a quick finger” tattoo 🤣 we had a good laugh. Made an amazing memory thanks to an amazing staff. Highly recommend having patience because these artists take their time ensuring you will love something that will be a part of you forever.

I havent been here in a while and I got to meet a tattoo artist named Nate. The attention to detail he has in his work is amazing. He went above my expectations, especially with this being a cover up.

I called to see if they did walk in. When they answered the phone the lady was joyful and glad to help me. I walked in they weren’t to busy and got me right in. I went to a few different ones before I went and they tried to charge me outrageous prices. When I asked them the price it was reasonable so I said let’s do it. I showed spider the tattoo I wanted he drew up something amazing. When I was done it was literally perfect. Spider made what was in my head come to real life and it was amazing. No question about it just got right to it. I will definitely be coming back and bringing people with me!!!

Went to go get my first with Dave and he was amazing! I told him what I wanted and he made it happen. He answered all my questions and made the process fast, comfortable and easy. The facility was clean and the energy was super chill, I would 100% recommend him to anyone wanting any tattoo!

We had an amazing experience yesterday at army Navy Tattoo. Our artist was Nathan Walton and he went above any beyond. He truly is an amazing artist and has a lot of pride in his work and what he does. My boyfriend and i have a decent amount of Ink already, but it was a breath of fresh air working with Nathan with the amount of care and consideration he showed. His work station is very clean and he is very particular to keep everything sanitary for himself and his clients. We will definitely seek him out next time we are looking to get work done. I went to Army-Navy tattoo today as a walk-in wanting a tattoo in remembrance of my grandma who just passed. The wait time was not long at all, the shop and all its artists were very cool, professional, and nice! The shop itself was VERY clean and organized! I had the pleasure of Jade drawing up and doing my tattoo, she was AMAZING! She’s very talented! My vision was 100% met and I couldn’t be happier with her work! Overall 15/10 experience and I’ll definitely be coming back here for my next piece! Thank you Jade!

My fiance recommended this tattoo shop and I am so glad we went here. We felt right at home when we walked in the door, we were greater and the artists worked with me to find the perfect artist. I gave Jade 4 bioshock flash sheets and had her choose. Im in love with what she chose and the tattoo she gave me! She was considerate. She made sure I was comfortable the entire time. My husband and I both walked in for small tattoos. We were welcomed and felt very comfortable talking to the owner & our artist, Justin. The inside of the building is free of clutter and well kept. The area for actual services was super clean and sterilized. Justin was very personable and obviously took pride in his work. He made sure we were both comfortable at all times and was excellent with explaining his process both before and during our procedures. We each got the tattoos we imagined and are so pleased with the work Justin created. Definitely will return to this location for future tattoos should we be in the area again.

The owner welcomed us in and made us feel at home. My bestie and I were getting matching tattoos. I don’t know how I got so lucky and got NATHAN. But legit this guy gave me such a detailed tattoo. Came in asking for a lotus tattoo because that was my kittens name who passed and seriously I cannot stress this enough how much detail and consideration he took to make it this amazing. I just recently got my tattoo there by Nate. He did a really good job and I was really happy with the results I have something go remember home with. Nate was full of good ideas when helping me determine how exactly I wanted the tattoo to come out. Which is something that I really like because it’s like there own little touch to your tattoo. He was also really helpful with any questions I had about the healing process. My tattoo is pretty much fully healed in a little over a week and came out great. I’d definitely recommend you get your tattoos done by him.

I had such a great “first” time experience at Army Navy tattoo! The staff are all amazing, professional, and clearly very talented and skilled at what they do! Huge shout out to Nate for these killer pieces! My best friend and I have been wanting to get matching “best friend” tattoos for a few years, and he made our dream a reality. My husband an I started coming here about 2 months ago, very clean and organized. Nate is AMAZING ! We won’t let anyone else tattoo us now that we have found Nate. 10/10 recommend this shop and Nate! This place is extremely chill and filled with awesome people. I spent 4 months with Sean doing multiple sessions on my biomechanical arm sleeve that was also a partial cover up, and couldn’t be happier. He took a lot of time with multiple panels to get the detail to flow properly. Highly recommend this shop to anyone residing in or passing through the York County, VA area.

Got my tattoo done in April 2022 by Nathan. He did the most awesome job drawing and inking my very special tattoo. He took his time and used his expertise to guide me in the right direction as to what he thought would work best, while considering my input. I couldnt have been more pleased with the quality and look. The entire shop is spic and span, sanitization measures were observed, and staff was welcoming and pleasant. Prices were reasonable. I cant say enough good things about Army Navy Tattoo!

UPDATE: Ive now had 3 tattoos done by Nate. He is great at what he does and listens to exactly what I want for the design. He is precise with his work and makes you comfortable. The shop itself is clean and organized and the atmosphere is casual and relaxing. If youre unsure of the process or what you want, questions are welcomed and aftercare education provided.

Very happy & pleased! This is only part one of my tattoo done, have to go back for color. Done by Dave who of which is the nicest, coolest and most awesome guy! We bonded over old anime shows as he was prepping me and had a whole conversation for awhile. He would ask me how Im doing and if I needed to take a break/adjust myself if I was uncomfortable. I love the atmosphere and boss lady (owner) is so cool and straight forward. They made me very comfortable there. As a walk in, its worth the wait of getting a tattoo so I recommend going. BUT BE THERE BEFORE THEY OPEN SO YOU CAN BE FIRST COME FIRST SERVE. ❤️

My boyfriend and I had a specific and small tattoo idea and called several days ahead to ask about scheduling them. We were told to walk in Saturday when they opened and it should be easy.It was not easy. We waited over 30 minutes to speak to an artist, who appeared intoxicated, and were told they might be able to schedule it for late this evening. The receptionist was extremely rude and condescending about what we wanted, despite her claims of being nonjudgmental.We decided not to do business with them due to how dismissive and uninviting the shop was. Only the female artist directly behind the counter spoke to us with any enthusiasm. We will not be returning and would not recommend this shop.

I had a tattoo reworked by Dave and he did a great job. He explained a lot about tattoos and the after care. He also made sure I was comfortable. I enjoyed the time I spent in the shop, staff are nice and fun to talk with. Im looking forward to going back soon. I recommend anyone to go there.

My best friend and I went in for matching water color tattoos and John took really good care of us. He was super friendly and patient and our tats came out better than we hoped :) the owner even made rounds checking on everyone! Def recommend.*UPDATE* After leaving that day I reached back out to the artist numerous times for a touch up as some of the tattoo faded INSTANTLY, as well as other work he said he would do, and was treated rudely if acknowledged at all but mostly left on read. I’ve never been back. Follow up work is pretty normal and I had to use a different artist which sucked and cost me more money.

I absolutely LOVE Army Navy Tattoo! They did such an amazing job with my thigh piece and with my best friends arm piece!! It was her first time getting a tattoo and everyone was so kind and her artist Nick made sure to explain everything to her. My artist, Dave, was awesome too! Made me feel comfortable while he was tattooing my leg. I would definitely recommend this tattoo shop to all my friends and family.

Myself and my husband have both gotten multiple tattoos done here. Dave is such a good artist as well as all the others. They are all very respectful and really do make it all about the costumers. The pricing is also very fair. I would recommend this shop to anyone!!

Great shop! Very clean and fun interior, covered in old-school flash from the shops early days (been around since the 70s, I was told when I was there that its the oldest shop still open in VA) and general Americana. They have a comfortable waiting area where the owner will often come out to talk you about what youre getting and share stories.The staff is incredibly courteous and professional, talking with you at length about what you want to get and showing you their portfolios. They give you as much time as you need and answer any questions you may have about the process. They also consult between themselves about what theyre working on, giving the feel of a collaborative environment perfect for getting the best art possible onto you.In total, my family and I have gotten four tattoos from them (one from JJ and three from Dave Cooper). Each time they have been efficient, fun and respectful. They check at regular intervals to make sure you are handling the pain during the process and check with you several times to make sure the design and placement are perfect for you before the needle is ever applied.They made my first tattoo a great experience (a shoulder piece, roughly 5 inches in diameter) and I would recommend them to anyone around. Both me and my sister have new ones planned in a couple of weeks and I cant wait.They have the most professional and fun studio Ive ever seen, populated with a great staff and a fun owner. It truly makes the entire event a memorable one.Plus you gotta love old school.

My mother in law and I stopped in here to get tattoos as walk ins. We were helped right away. Jade helped my mother In law, she did great work honoring her mother who has passed. Nathan took a picture of my late dog and an idea, and turned it into a work of art that I am proud to wear on my body. My husband and I have previously gotten tattooed here 10 years ago, and when we moved back to the area, we knew exactly where to go. What can i say other than... AMAZING! I had an amazing experience here. The Artists were all very Nice and Professional. The owners even talked to me and my Girlfriend for a good amount of time and made us feel more like family. The Artist I saw took amazing care of me. I didnt feel rushed or like i was being led into a sale trap. Overall GREAT EXPERIENCE! GREAT ARTISTS, HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!

I reached out on somewhat of a short timeframe to try and get a few pieces scheduled. Questions were promptly and professionally answered, as well as being put in touch with the FANTASTIC artist that would end up doing a few tattoos for us. Very clean and comfortable environment.After sending some ideas of ours to Valorie, she answered all questions and concerns quickly.Now to the appointment, we were able to get an appointment for as soon as they opened for the day. Check in and paper work were quick. The tattoos were PHENOMENAL, could not be happier with the work and detail in the pieces. She delivered exactly what we wanted.It was the first tattoo for one of us, and she made it as painless and comfortable as could be for the both of us.TLDR: the place is awesome and Valorie knocks it out of the park. Steady and efficient. Great and comfortable environment.

I went here on Saturday may 15th for a tattoo. I was a walk in so it took awhile to work me in but it’s worth the wait. The tat I got was not the one that I envisioned but the more I look at it the more perfect it is. I wanted something that reminded me of my grandfather and this tat certainly does that. If he had given me a tattoo himself this is exactly what he would have done. The staff was very professional and the shop was very clean. I definitely want to go back for another one and I would absolutely recommend this business.

Army Navy tattoo is a landmark here in Hampton Roads. In order to have exceptional work, you must go here. My tattoo artist Sean is exceptional! He has a good eye and he can kill the graffiti and script. He’s done many of my tattoos, 2 being cover ups. I will not go anywhere else for my work. Hands down the best! The staff all the way around are exceptional people and artist. The owner is a sweetheart. All I can say is, go there and find out yourself!

I arrived without an appointment and was welcomed personally by the owner. I researched this place the night before, and didnt find any reviews from people of color, and was slightly unsettled. However, the entire staff was absolutely pleasant. I felt comfortable, and valued as a respected customer. Chris took great care of me, was super friendly and professional. I would definitely refer my friends.

These guys here are out of this world phenomenal!!! Oh my gosh I cannot rave enough!! They were all so nice and it was clean clean! Our pieces didn’t take long but we still weren’t rushed. Virginia tattooings best kept secret!!!! After several years of deciding on a tattoo, I finally made the decision!! I called around from Virginia beach all the way to Richmond and was met with the se ad everything..... Make an appointment for a consultation...then make an appointment for the work...BTW we are booked till November..... Yeah thats what I wanna do with I finally make the decision to get this work done is wait for months...... Enter Army Navy Tattoo!!!! I called them and they actually answered for one!!! I told them what I was looking for and she immediately put me on with David. I spoke with David for about 5 min and he told me to come right in on the 21st (only because he was going to be out of town. Fast forward to today,.I called to make sure I was still on, the owner(I think) actually rembered talking to me!!! By name and everything! I came to the shop...this building has character, its been around for a hot minute, plenty of parking. Walk in and received a warm greeting from everyone, unlike other places where feel like your nothing but a handful of cash and an annoyance to everyone there.it was a nice environment, super low key and chill. Again, the shops been around for a while...but I will say everything was clean! David drew up my design quickly and he got to work! Ill tell you, I have had a lot of tattoos, so when I say Davids line work was the smoothest I have ever encountered, I really mean it. Not like others that basically just rip lines into your skin. Shading was good too! He was clean and just took that extra care! Great conversation too. Next thing I knew I felt the spray on my are to clean up! All done!!!! So fast!!! The tattoo is beautiful, shading and color both top notch. The best part is, the price was great!!!!! So next time your looking to get some ink done, give these guys a call!!! I promise they will take good care of you! I know Ill be going back for sure. Thanks Army Navy Tattoo team. This was probably the best tattoo experiance I have ever had!!!! Sometimes its the little things that mean the most so today I got a fairly small tattoo done that meant a lot to me. Sam was fantastic and the owner, who I unfortunately didnt get her name, was wonderful as well. They both assisted with pinpointing what I wanted to get with the best result. My wife and I got tattoos yesterday and we are beyond satisfied with them! I had mine done by George Rankin, the shops apprentice, but please dont let that title dissuade you because he is truly gifted. The shop is clean, staff is friendly, prices are reasonable, and they have a comfy waiting room. My tattoo is complex and George did a flawless job on the lines and detail. Its two klingon bird of preys attacking a galaxy class starship in a nebula. Ill be going back in a couple weeks for the coloring.

I have 18 tattoos, all of which have been done here except one! Spider is incredible, the shop is clean, I felt extremely comfortable and secure always, and have always been pleased with the work done for me! Half sleeve done by Justin Giacobbi and it is incredible! Justin is fantastic! Could not be more pleased with his work. Worked with him first to design a hoodie for my unit, and then started working on a tattoo design. The hoodies turned out amazing and he communicated updates so well, even while I was deployed, he’s a great businessman. Very light handed when tattooing and enthusiastic about his work. I have been amazed with his art since I first met him and absolutely love the piece he was able to tattoo on me. The details are astounding in the flowers, face, and turtle he tattooed. He also tattooed my husband and it is by far my favorite tattoo he has. Highly recommended for tattoos and designs of any kind!

My husband and I just came there to get a tattoo for me and the lady at the counter told us it will be a 3 hour wait but we was sitting in front of the shop since 11:30 she went to a blue car and told the 2 ladies to come in and then like a couple minutes later a gentleman pulled up in a black pickup truck she waved him in. This was all before 12pm and we was there before all of them and she never waved us in so we go in at 12pm the time you guys said you open and she tells us its a 3 hour wait we said how if its first come first service she then pointed to the people she waved in. We informed her that we was there before them and she proceeded to make excuses as to why we needed and appointment. My husband served in the Army and is a disable combat vet and thought this would be a good place to come but the disservice we received is sad and disappointing because we was the only ones of color there and she did not acknowledge us waiting outside before the other non people of color came.

I love army navy tattoo. been getting tattoos there for about 7 years and just got two tattoos within a span of a week. theyre always very clean and professional and just overall a great place to get tattooed.

The absolute best tattoo experience Ive had at a tattoo parlor in the state of Virginia. I went to get a memorial for my recently deceased husband. Tita was nice and very friendly. Justin was my artist. I was very comfortable there and Justin did a great job. I will definitely go back.

Absolutely amazing, everyone was really friendly and overall had a great atmosphere. Justin did my tattoo and it was exactly what I wanted. He constantly made sure I was comfortable and was super friendly.

Everyone recommended this place so it was a let down to have to go elsewhere. Sent an email like the web page said for an appointment , and never heard back. So called tonight and the guy answered the phone annoyed right off the bat I said hey we sent an email inquiry and were wanting to check on that and was told maybe they don’t reply because they are busy. The email was sent over a week ago. Lol stay busy with that attitude ✌🏻 glad we found somewhere else to accommodate last minute since they cant be bothered to book or respond to emails.

Jeremy has started my sleeve and I couldn’t be happier with the progress. Every time I go in this shop, everyone is always so nice and chatty. It doesn’t feel like you’re going to get work done, it feels like you’re visiting with friends. I will always send referrals their way!

I was disappointed by the professionalism of the shop. I tried to make an appointment to get a piercing done. A friend and I called numerous times to talk to the piercer and we were told that the piercer wasnt in, but we should call back later. Whenever we called back, the piercer/owner was never in. Finally, we made a quasi-appointment and they told us shed be there in about an hour. When we traveled out of town to see her, low and behold, she wasnt there. We left our names/numbers and never received a call back, even two months later. Needless to say, we got our piercings and tattoos elsewhere.

The people alone make you wanna go back. I had a great experience and will definitely be going back. My artist did a great job and made sure I was comfortable. Absolutely loved it there.

The environment is sanitary and the artwork is awesome! I got a rabbit tattoo here recently and the staff do really good work and care about their product.

Just got my nose pierced and my sisters ears pierced and the staff was very friendly and the woman who did the piercings was amazing and knew exactly what to do. I would definitely recommend this place, best service I have ever seen and the prices were very reasonable!

I came here and got a tattoo with some wrighting the tattoo artist geo spelled it wrong and cause a huge thing about it Sean fixed it and did another tatoo on methe owner wants to make sure the customer is satisfied she is very genuine and nice I would not suggest going to the artist geo considering he is a apprentice did not say he was and also he asked multiple times for a tip still great shop

This place has lost my business I brought two other people in there including myself and we waited two hours and didnt even get our tattoo done the one guy was sitting there on the computer not even paying attention to anyone they called someone else in and it takes her 2 hours to get to work
