Marie did my very first tattoo (at 67 years old- never too late!). She listened very carefully, answered all my questions and gave me advice on which of the designs I was considering. I really appreciated the thorough information provided prior to us starting the tattoo process. Her professionalism and creativity really showed. The tattoo looks flawless, is healing nicely and is exactly what I wanted. Meeting and talking to Marie made all of this an easy experience.The shop itself has a cool artsy vibe and I was very excited that it was a female centric business, employing all women tattoo artists.I only wished I lived in the Yucca Valley (I was on vacation) because everything was so great that I know when I inevitably want another tattoo I would absolutely want to return to Strata Tattoo Lab!

Absolutely love this shop. Ive been tattooed by Jaye & Kei who are both extremely talented and absolute sweethearts. They were great in making sure I felt comfortable and were very hospitable.10/10 I do recommend

My wife and I were out in Joshua tree for a little getaway and while we were there we thought it would be cool to try and get tattoos, so we called, we were only going to be in town for a few days, and even though it was short notice they were able to accommodate both of us, we spoke to Marie Vlasic and she put together some absolutely killer tattoos for each of us, the whole shop was super cool and all the staff were super friendly and fun they were also absolutely obsessed with cleanliness. The shop was awesome and I would recommend them to anyone looking for some awesome tattoo artwork in the Joshua tree/yucca valley area. To sum it up it’s a great shop with great people who take their job very seriously and do unbelievable work at a fair price

I submitted a general questions on the website to get 2 tattoos and Joel responded and had us scheduled within 2 days! Joel was very responsive and worked with us well. I enjoyed the fun atmosphere of the shop. It was really clean and welcoming!Absolutely would recommend!

I scheduled with jay’e to do filler work on my arm. I was lucky to even get an appointment because of how booked out she is and I see why! The experience was above and beyond what I expected, and the work is fantastic, exactly what I wanted. I look forward to having her work on my semi-suit!

I cannot say enough good things about this tattoo shop. They are professional. The shop is clean. The people are friendly. They work with you to get the perfect artwork to be on your body forever. I have gotten five tattoos from them that are large tattoos and every single one of them has healed up great and I will continue to go to the shop for years to come.

I’ve been tattooed by Cindy twice now (4 small tattoos total) and she’s knocked it out of the park on every one. I couldn’t be happier with the work she’s done. I like TINY but detailed pieces and she was able to pull them off flawlessly every time - a lot of artists can’t/don’t do that. The studio itself is suuuuuper clean and obviously well kept and loved. PLUS it’s woman owned - hello! Definitely check it out if you’re in the area or looking for an artist for ongoing work.

The best tattoo experience I’ve ever had! Cindy (@pineneedletattoo) did excellent quick work and was so friendly and fun. The booking process was easy and we made sure the design was just right before we started. The shop had a good atmosphere and was clean and relaxed. I’m so happy with the experience.

This is my favorite shop to get tattooed. All the artists are so friendly and talented. I fly from Denver to get tattooed here at least 1-2 times a year.

I went to Joshua Tree on vacation and before I left one of my relatives friends referred me to them. When I emailed about the tattoo Jaye (The Owner) responded so quickly and connected me with Julie Niznik! I told Julie it was one of my first ‘real’ tattoos and that I was very nervous and she took really good care of me during the process. Next time when I’m in Joshua tree I’m definitely coming back!

Was searching for a tattoo shop near 29 Palms. Sat at one shop for hours and ended up getting yelled at for my phone ringing. I booked a 4pm appointment on a Sunday with only about an hour to get up to Yucca. I jumped in my truck, grabbed a burger, told Julie I was on my way, and rolled up there.Julie was great! She was personable, really knew her craft, and made the entire experience (of getting my ditch done) great! We joked, we laughed, we cried (not really), and I left one step closer to finishing my sleeve.The shop was clean and unique. Its not like most shops at all. The price was reasonable and I tipped Julie really well for her time.The location is in an oasis of greatness. Church, tacos guns, booze, only thing missing is a strip club. Overall a prime location for footraffic and the occasional passerby.Thanks again Julie, youre great!

I went to Ken Lightcap for a pretty elaborate back piece. I cannot sing his praise, or recommend him and this shop enough. He made me feel comfortable, and his work is incredible. He is knowledgeable, and takes the time to make sure you understand the aftercare process. I sat for 12 hours, and it flew by. I felt like I was surrounded by old friends.

My husband and I got tattoos and Strata Tattoo Lab last week and we had the best experience! Kei did my husbands tattoo and Joel did mine. They were both absoultely fabulous - very kind, listened to and honored what we wanted, and just overall really cool folks. Not to mention, the tattoos turned out PERFECT! It was my husbands first tattoo and they made him feel at ease. We are from out of town and I have gotten several other tattoo in Minnesota, this was by far the best expereince I had at a tattoo parlor! Im not normally one to write reviews but I had such a great expereince that I needed to share!

I got my tattoo almost 2 years ago already, crazy. Jaye did my piece and it turned out fabulous. I absolutely love it still and always smile when I look at it. It represents so much for me after all Ive been through. She was really open to my idea and turned it into a work of art. She made me comfortable, was attentive during the whole process. Everyone at the shop was cool, friendly. There was no negative vibes at all, which makes a big difference. I would definitely go back and continue to recommend their shop above all others!! I cant wait to return for some more work done. :) They are respectful, Helpful and considerate. Be sure to check them out if you want quality art put on you, after all its permanent. Clean, courteous and professional. All the artists are so welcoming. Each artist has their own speciality so call and see who youd like to use. From traditional, black and grey to realism the shop has you covered. Jaye has been my artist for years now and all of my work is original. Shes never had an issue bringing an idea to life. Highly recommend Strata.

All of the artist are very knowledgeable in their particular specialty. I have been tattooed by Jaye and Tamara. All of my experiences have been nothing short of amazing. The atmosphere is phenomenal. I have always felt welcome and like part of their tattoo family at Strata. I could go on for days, but I will cut it short. Strata is hands down the best shop in the Hi Desert with the best artist and atmosphere .

Ken accepted my booking, hand drew my request, carefully placed the stencil to my liking and then rocked my tattoo. He was extremely professional. Followed all covid & health protocols. He was kind in conversation and was gentle while he worked. I know Ill see Ken again for a future tattoo.

So JULIE whos worked there for less than 14 days is answering phones and talking on behalf of artists who have passed her two week old residency by decade this shop has lost its loyal and long costumer by a decade for such terrible customer service
