Adam created and inked this masterpiece on my leg. I love it! The other artists are always friendly and come offer to offer praise or constructive criticism... its all in fun though. Great artists and a great place!

Got a great tattoo honoring my Dad recently, I told Eddie the things I definitely wanted and he came up with something that was so much more and then some. Thank you SO much Eddie! 10 out of 10 for him and all the crew at Ironclad Tattoo in Altoona.

I have been lucky enough to find an amazing artist in Ringo. He has taken my ideas and made them into pieces that I could never of imagined. All guys are super talented and I have never met a stranger yet going to Ironclad! Super talented and great group!

Always a good experience at iron clad of youre looking for a new tattoo out even your first I highly recommend them. I have Ringo do mine but I would trust any one of them! Great and professional!

My girlfriend had that oh so impulsive need to get a small infinity tattoo on her neck. Her original artist canceled so I picked up the phone and called Ironclad! Sure enough Ty picked up the phone and told us to come in at 6:30.He was so chill and had such a caring cool vibe! His space was comfortable and beautifully lit with blue LED lights. His own artwork decorated the walls and his talent is jaw-dropping! He was patient and understood exactly what we wanted. Even when we had to change the placement he wasnt even phased he genuinely wanted us to be happy. I cannot say enough good things about Ty! I ended up having him do a small face tat for me & I absolutely love it! What was supposed to be just a quick ink appointment turned out to be a super high vibe experience in the company of an upcoming and very talented young artist. We also felt like best friends by the end and walked out the door absolutely ecstatic about our new ink by Ty! Highly recommend the shop!Beautiful serendipitous experience!

Ironclad Tattoo has some of the NICEST, most accommodating gentlemen Ive EVER had the pleasure of doing business with. Zach, in particular, is my favorite. His work is impeccable and talent beyond measure! Pictured, two memorial pieces. One, my brother drew. The other, in rememberance of all the doggies had the pleasure of loving throughout my adult life, thus far.

Don’t go to Tyler!! I got my tattoo done over a year ago and never spoke on it, but after hearing how he’s also treated other girls that go to him I’m not going to stay quiet. During my tattoo he made me uncomfortable. I understand that you need to hold the skin during a tattoo, but he was rubbing my thigh and gripping it inappropriately. The tattoos he does are also awful. He went so deep on mine. My tattoo still raises up and swells. Now that it’s healed the lines look janky.He first did my nose piercing at a party. It got infected. I shouldn’t have went back to him again.

I went in to get my piercing looked at, some odd things were going on with it as i got it done at lucky gal about a month ago. I called and asked if they were able to help me and see what was going on and they fit me in right away. I was helped by a gentleman named Eddie and he was amazing. He isnt a piercer but he eased my anxiety about my piercing and gave me great directions and his opinion on what to do. I highly recommend. THANK YOU!!!!

Ty has done the majority of my tattoos. He puts out great work and is very communicative with scheduling and pricing. I’m always getting compliments on my pieces that he’s done :)

Had an amazing experience here, Zach was very patient and reassuring while getting a pretty painful sternum tattoo done. Very inclusive, Zach made sure I was comfortable and he was using the correct pronouns, which meant the world to me. I lied when I said I wasn’t coming in for a touch up, I was just in pain, I will be maintaining this tattoo for a life time. My family will be making ironclad their home tattoo base. Thank you for everything!

If I could give 0 stars I would. Read all the way to the very end.My sister recommended I get a tattoo here. While I was getting it the gentleman stopped 3 times smoke a cigarette then he decided he was going to do a small tattoo on someone else. Mind you they charge by the hour so I told him that, then he decided he would do the other persons tattoo afterwards.The worst part is he basically created his own tattoo and did not go based off of what I wanted even thought i showed him a picture of exactly what i wanted. It hurt really bad so I didnt look for the first couple minutes then when I checked it was already too late. I would definitely not recommend this place sorry to the owners but whoever did my tattoo was not good at it. I also asked if he liked it at the end and he said it was OK. Doesnt sound like he is very proud of his work. Id will get this covered up but by these people!! $200 down the drain, totally unfair. Tattoos places usually have poor customer service anyway so no one will probably offer compensation or even reach out to try and fix/assist with the issue. Im honestly embarrassed by it, I always wear socks or shoes to cover it and wish I never went here. Stuck on my body forever... smh

I got my tattoo about a year ago by Tyler, very messy work. First he started with the wrong size needle, Lines aren’t straight, tattoo is misshaped, the lines are very shaky. He cut me twice with the needle doing the stars as well. Do not go to Tyler for your tattoos.

Went to go get a tattoo put the deposit down no issue there. As soon as I got there the tattoo artist was very rude and even bruised my aunt while dry wiping her tattoo! He was very very rough with her. My tattoo that I got the line work is horrible so is my best friends and so is my aunts! We will not be returning. Didn’t even seem like the artists knew what they were doing… or even knew how to tattoo at all!

First time in this shop and it will be my last. Had ringo do a few things on my hand. Their printer was down so the stencil was hand drawn, felt very unprofessional. Came in at scheduled time and he made me wait 10 min so he could finish sweeping, then another 10 min so he could hand draw the stencil. They were little things too very tiny minimal work and he managed to mess it up. The only artist I’ve been genuinely uncomfortable around. The entire time he’s tattooing he’s struggling to grip the skin it literally felt like a high school operation. Overcharged and overpriced too. I could have bought a $20 tattoo kit off amazon and accomplished the same amount of work as him. I regret even coming in

Tyler is absolutely amazing! His work speaks for itself. Never been anything other than professional. And would highly recommend to anyone!

Love this shop! Ive had many tattoos from other shops and i was never happy with those in the end. Ive never had one from Ironclad that I havent absolutely loved. Adam is a great artist and is a pure pleasure to work with. I will never go anywhere else.

Eddie is so patient and kind. He put up with leg spasms from my illness. But is taking his time and really helpful! Recommend this place to anyone looking for a new tattoo or cover up!!

My daughters and I went in today to get tattoos from Kayleigh. I cant express how impressed we were with her!! Shes absolutely amazing and we are all three excited to go back and have her do more!!

Crew is amazing, interacted with everyone. Zach did our tattos and did an awsome job. Definitely recommend this location and will be back for more ink!

Ty did a great job on my Beetlejuice tattoo! He was super gentle and very friendly! I will be returning, highly recommended.

I got a small tattoo with Adam that at first turned out pretty good, just needed a few things touched up to fix some minor errors. I went ahead a scheduled a new tattoo along with my touchup, but I would be sadly disappointed. My new tattoo was great, my touchup however was a mess! Sloppy line work fixing weak spots that ended up making my lines squiggles, and coloring outside the lines like a child! Very upset with the result and will not be coming back. Dont get a simple tattoo with these guys because apparently its too boring to do good work on

I went there tonight for a tattoo on my forearm. Eddy was professional. He knew what he was doing and explained to me what he was doing. Asked me if I had questions before I left which is a plus for me!! He’s a cool man and I will definitely go back to him for another tattoo!! Thanks again Eddy!!

Ringo made time to help my wife and I out with a last minute project, where no one else we called would even try. He was awesome and chill the whole time, and the prices were reasonable. Would 100% recommend.

Best experience ever!!! Strongly recommend going to Tyler this guy takes his job seriously and dose a great job on working with people I would give 10 stars if I could.

IRONCLAD & Adam Curry is in my opinion one of the best if not thee best in Iowa. I’ve seen and had other artists work and Adam not only does a phenomenal job but he cares what his work looks like and won’t let A work alone he wants A++. Also gives reasonable prices. The only Artist I’ll ever go to now!

They do great work! I only have two tattoo shops with people I trust and these guys are one of them!

Went there 7/30/16 to get something tattooed on my forearm, and the girl who did it was super cool. It didnt take long at all and Im super happy with how it turned out.

Got a conch piercing done yesterday. I was in and out so quick but they still took the time to make sure I felt comfortable. A guy that wasnt the piercer even offered me candy when I said I dont do well with needles. I cant even really feel it today, it was overall a super painless experience.
