I would highly recommend Mint Piercing! I came in to get my 2nd & 3rd lobe piercings done, as well as switch up the jewelry in my current lobe piercings. Janessa was so helpful when it came to selecting my jewelry, knowing exactly what sizes would look best for their placement on my ears. She also was incredibly knowledgeable of the high quality materials all of their jewelry is made out of, and as I have a nickel allergy, I was pleased to know their pieces were all free of nickel! When time for the piercing, everything was properly clean and sterilized. Janessa then measured to ensure even placement of the piercings on my ears and marked the perfect spots the first time around without needing any adjustments. The piercings themselves were very quick and smooth, and the end results were absolutely perfect! I love the free aftercare products and info they include, as well as the personalized care they provide in ensuring your healing process goes smoothly. So happy to have found my new piercing place and can’t wait to get more here done in the future!

I had some questions and concerns about reopening an old piercing that had closed up. Cody was so great at answering my questions, and I feel like he really took care to get me the results I was after without upselling me on things I didn’t need. The studio is open by appointment only, but he fit me in anyway and was so friendly and professional. I’m considering getting another piercing soon and will make a special trip to Ankeny just to work with Cody again.

Ive been here multiple times not always getting pierced but with a friend. Leo is ALWAYS amazing. His passion and knowledge for his artwork is amazing. It really is artwork how he helps you choose what pieces will work well with what you already have.He helped me choose the most amazing piece last time I was there and I get complements on it ALL THE TIME. He also puts you at ease about the piercing and even the selection of the jewelry. Its a solid 3 hour drive from where I live and its worth every mile. Thanks Mint, and especially thank you Leo!!

I have now been to MINT twice, first for a double helix piercing for myself and then with my 7-year-old daughter for her first ear piercings, and have had fantastic experiences both times. The shop is beautifully decorated and its clear they practice extremely good safety measures. Janessa worked with both of us and was friendly, calm and calming, professional, and patient. I want to especially commend her for being so fantastic with my daughter. She thoroughly explained everything, spoke directly to her the entire time, and used the perfect amount of calmness and excitement. Such great experiences!

I had a helix piercing many years ago that I took out and wanted redone he was able to use the same placement and was so kind. I love MINT piercing so much! Knowing that I have high quality, timeless jewelry and access to such great customer care (jewelry repair!! aftercare and downsizing!! such kind staff!!) is so worth the price tag. If there was ever a place where the “you get what you pay for” phrase rang truest, it’s here. The jewelry is SO beautiful and lasts, and the prices reflect that.I’ve had appointments with both Janessa and Cody, and they were so easy to talk to and explained what they were doing and gave recommendations. I’ve gotten piercings at a mall and at a tattoo shop, but coming here was by far the best experience.Keep in mind that appointments and timing is very important. Show up early and be courteous to the fact that they are by appointment only!

Mint is pretty much the only place I got for piercings or jewelry because I trust their skills completely. The jewelry is excellent quality and I love that I don’t have to worry about it just falling out easily. I often see Janessa in Ankeny but have also gone to Tyler at West Glen, regardless of who you see they make you feel comfortable, valid, and like an awesome new person! :)

Two of my granddaughters and I went there and got forever bracelets there they are very pretty I made a good quality material only thing is theyre a little expensiveand I wish they had a selection for younger children

The appointment system makes the stresses of hoping to get in, fade away.Having been pierced at Mint in Ankeny, I can assure you, it is a comfortable, warming experience. Being greeted by happy smiling faces, Leo, Janessa, and Cody, makes walking through the door feel like youre walking into your friends home. The aesthetic is beautiful! Not too bright, not too dim, a well thought out design, and cleaner than most restaurants. The jewelry selection is breathtaking! I couldnt believe how cool and pretty some of the pieces are! Janessa pierced my son and daughters lobes and it was smooth sailing. My daughter was very nervous and tense, but Janessa was able to ease her mind and help her relax. My daughter loved the experience so much that I brought her back for her double lobes. I have been pierced by both Leo and Janessa, and I absolutely love the attention to detail, reassurance, and precision that they possess. Cody is a great person, with his addition to the company, Mint has truly hit a homerun. I would be completely comfortable getting pierced by all of them, and also having comfort in referring all of them to my friends and family.

Janessa made me feel so comfortable. The price is a little higher than some places but I would pay it for the expertise, comfort, piercing/jewelry quality and overall experience any day.

The way I see it, MINT is the only reputable option for piercing in our area. I’ve been getting pierced for 15+ years and my mint piercings have had a higher success rate for healing than those I had from other shops. I think this is because mint prioritizes the highest quality jewelry, continuing ed, and industry standard technique. You know it’s good when your piercer declines to do certain piercings for safety/longevity reasons. I’ve recommended mint to my friends and family and will continue to do so. Janessa was great! This was my first time getting a piercing done here, and probably my most painful as of yet- but she walked me through the whole experience and I didnt even flinch. All the jewelry seems to be of high quality and the whole place is beautifully decorated and very clean. This was also an extremely accommodating experience as I ended up being late due to some circumstances and she still got me in and ready to go. I was in and out in twenty lovely minutes. Im very happy with my piercing and the whole experience. Ill 100% be coming back for my next one!

Come to find out they were to have an instructor with them so what happened to me didnt happen.I walked out of there feeling sick to my stomach my nose hurting for a whole week with some minor stings here and there. I dont understand because they got it through perfectly fine the first try, and then idk what happened.The fact that he had to use a scalpel to try and get the needle through the other side was the most pain I have ever been in. Ive wanted my septum done for years but now Im frightened to get my septum done because of the experience I had here.The service was absolutely incredible but the piercing not so much.

Excellent service and process from start to finish. Wide variety of jewelry and the best is they talked me through options and had fair prices on jewelry.Originally, I went in expecting to come out with a hoop but because they cared they told me that i should do a post until it heals then switch to a hoop. It was wonderful having them explain to me the reasons of ‘Why’ I should start with this product versus that product. Having a crew that cares is beyond rare.I wanted a double piercing on one side but opted to do a single to see how i like it overall. She placed two dots and lines on my nose to show where the two piercings would be and where the hoops would be before selecting one of the two to pierce leaving room for the second on a later date.This place took care of me, talked sense into me and never once felt dumb or ill informed. I will be a return customer and will recommend to anyone looking to get a new piercing.

I was so impressed with the staff at Mint. Leo was amazing! His passion for piercing shines when youre in his presence. He educated me on the piercing I was interested in and helped me design the look I was going for. It turned out even better than I had imagined. I ended up getting 3 pieces of jewelry to create a unique, beautiful, statement. The space is clean, and there is plenty of options to choose from in quality pieces. He explained all the different steps he was taking to ensure my piercing was done safely and then went over the aftercare in detail before I left. He even let me know that he was interested in following up in 6 weeks to ensure the piercing had healed properly. I feel that I was treated like a client and not just a sale. Would highly recommend! 11/10!

We havent had a piercing done in years, but Janessa remembered us as soon as she saw my daughter (and her ear trauma, lol)! She helped my daughter pick out a great piece in her price range, explained options for upgrading to a more expensive piece once healed, and we giggled the whole time!Ive always been an advocate for professional piercings, a clean, sterile environment, and refusing to let a piercing gun touch my daughter after a horrific incident with her first set of earrings. The staff were wonderful and nice. They treat you like family. I took my daughter here to get a helix piercing and she said they were so sweet and made her feel very comfortable. The guy who pierced her ear Tyler was extremely nice and went out of his way to make her calm and made sure we understand everything. I 100% reccomend and would come back again and again.

Went in today for a Navel Piercing and my experience was incredible. I was very nervous throughout but Taylor made it less nervewrecking, he was among patient and kind. Definitely reccomend for first time piercings. The environment and setting was a plus and made by far the most comfortable.

I’ve gotten my nose double pierced here, a new nose ring, and both my nipples pierced here. Each experience has been AMAZING. Janessa has done all of my services and she’s the best piercer i’ve ever worked with; super laid back, is personable, makes you feel comfortable, and answers any and all questions you could have! MINT is a bit more expensive than other shops i’ve been to but it is SOOOO worth it, i’ve never had any issues with anything i’ve gotten at MINT and their jewelry is top notch. i will recommend them to anyone and everyone!!!

Leo is the best! I got my septum pierced a couple of weeks ago and he did a great job. Every step was explained to me before he did it, and it was quick and completely painless because he knows what hes doing! In most noses theres a sweet spot with no cartilage and he got it spot on. I have had zero pain aside from it being a little tender when bumped at first.This studio is very high quality; you wont find a cleaner facility in all of Iowa. Professional, friendly staff made me feel incredibly comfortable during my whole appointment. Their jewelry is also top-notch stuff. I had a wonderful experience here; thank you so much!

Its absolutely wonderful. I got a nasal piercing here yesterday and the staff was super nice to me and helped me figure out exactly what I wanted. Im pretty nervous around needles so it was really nice to have people that let me take my time to breathe and make sure I was ready before piercing. They made sure I knew how to take care of my new piercing before sending me off which was really nice. I never write reviews for anything but it feels necessary to review this place because it truly was the best possible experience. Oh also! This seems to be a super LGBTQ+ friendly place! :3 I had to explain that my legal name is different than what I go by because Im nonbinary and I had to give them legal info and there wasnt a single problem :) I always get nervous when sharing that information and I wasnt really expecting it to be a problem but its really nice how instantly accepting the staff was :) this place truly is welcoming to all people and does high quality work.

My experiences with getting my cartilage in my ears pierced has been the worse. After doing a lot of research I decided to try MINT out. I can honestly say it is one of the best and most amazing experiences I have had. It was quick, easy, very sterile, and quite relaxing. Blake did an amazing job and was very good about explaining after care instructions. So happy I went here and will be recommending them to all my friends. This will be my go to piercing studio from now on!

I just got my septum piercing done yesterday and it went smoothly. Jenessa was very sweet and walked me through the whole possess and helped me find the perfect jewelry and size for my nose. The pain felt like a small pinch for a second but by the time you feel it, the jewelry is already in place. I would go again if I wanted any more piercings.

Awesome!!! I was tired of my nose studs falling out and wanted a hoop. They had several to chose from and I also had a helix stud replaced, too. Very informative and really nice to me, even though I had questions! Highly recommend!

Hands down the best customer service there is. I usually walk in and there arent horrible wait times. I cant say good enough things about Mint, they had one of my pieces of jewelry sent back to the manufacturer because it was threaded poorly and then kept it (FOREVER) because MY life got hectic. When I came in they still had the piece! Thats above and beyond imo. Ive got my nose pierced again and a new septum piece. Piercing is healing beautifully and if you are at all nervous about getting something done the staff is amazing at walking you through whats going on step by step.

Great customer service and quality work! They are incredibly knowledgeable, and it shows. I went in for a new piercing, a re-piercing, and jewelry for existing piercings. I had full intentions of paying to have one of my old piercings re-done, but I lucked out that they didn’t have to re-pierce it, just needed to put new jewelry in, since it wasn’t completely closed. Saved me some money in not having to pay to pierce it again, which was super kind and honest of them! I will definitely be back and recommend them.

Easily the nicest piercing place youll find in Iowa and probably the Midwest. I always come here for my piercings. My piercer was Derek. He made me feel comfortable and was very knowledgeable. I send all my friends here. Its pricey, but you absolutely get what you pay for: highest quality shop, beautiful lobby, high quality piercings, and a range of jewelry to choose from.

Tyler was great made me super comfortable when doing the piercing. Came back for a fallow up n it was oozing from both side on 1 ear. I Explained to him I cleaned it everyday n he said it was perfectly fine that was normal. People from my wife and friends told me to get looked at and Tyler acted like it wasnt a big deal. I am thinking about going to a friends tattoo shop that does piercing to have them look at it

I understand how heavy they are with scheduling appointments, but if Im there IN PERSON...I do expect someone to assist with making it happen, and I dont think that is too much to ask for.I went in to get new jewelry and that experience was fine, but when I attempted to make a future appointment they kept pushing for me to do it online (trust me, I got the hint after the third time making it obvious that they didnt want to work with me on any level.)I went out of my way to speak to the establishment and youre not able to make it happen?? Now thats ridiculous and has ruined my view. Wouldnt you know YOUR availability better than I would?Im flexible. If we needed to go out a month or two, I was willing, but she kept shutting me down. Over and over. You dont want my business? Great. Got it. You dont have it.

Got my 12 year old daughters ears pierced. Great experience! Tyler did a fantastic job! His personable nature made the process very easy and as comfortable as possible.

An excellent piercing shop I highly recommend it. The prices might be shocking at first until you realize how much better they are than many places around. They use higher quality jewelry for their piercings. Their piercers have better training and a much broader knowledge base than other shops Ive been to in this area. The store has a comfortable waiting area in the front and the private piercing rooms are well-maintained.

Very professional staff, greeted with a happy face, Tyler was my piercer and he explained everything that was happening and a lot of information about the way the piercing happens. He knows a lot about what he is doing(I got a septum done), and is very professional. Will continue to go to Tyler at Mint for all future piercing endeavors.

I stopped into MINT not entirely sure what part of my ear I wanted to get pierced. Leo was so easy going when showing me jewelry and helping me make a decision based on what my options were for my ear shape. He took the time to take me to a mirror several times and held pieces up so I could see how they were going to look, I never once felt rushed or pressured. When I finally made my decision it was time to get started. Leo is so calm and relaxed that he totally put me at ease and I felt comfortable. He is so good at what he does that pain was not an element in my experience. I ended up with an amazing piercing that fits so perfectly it looks like was always meant to be there due to his meticulous attention to detail. I got my navel pierced by Tyler and it was the best experience! Tyler made sure to thoroughly explain the whole process while he was doing the piercing and made sure I was comfortable the whole time. I would highly recommend coming here for your piercings!

I went to mint piercing about a month ago I got to dermals in my stomach and a VCH. I had Janessa she was very professional about talking to me about what to expect when the piercing was gonna happen. When I asked for a 15 minute break that was fine she took the time to make sure I was comfortable. I highly recommend Janessa for any dermals or VCH piercing I will be returning to mint piercing on Sunday to finish off my dermal peace.

I am ADDICTED. Ive only been in a few times but I love the customer service. They talk with me just like talking with a friend and help give suggestions based on what I want but also what would work best for me so that everything heals properly. I have never had a piercing shop so trustworthy and caring. I want all the rest of my piercings to be from here!

The staff here is PHENEOMENAL! Blake took extra time to give me tips on how to take care of previous piercings. He also changed the jewelry of my previous piercings and it was painless, which was unbelievable considering they were extremely irrritated. He did such a good job, I stayed and got my tragus pierced! The selection of jewelry is quality and I recieve alot of compliments. All of the staff were nice and accomodating. I will definitely return.

Every piercer gets one chance with me. Ball fell off my daith today, original piercer (not at this studio) had a very hard time originally getting the ball on, took her 30 minutes, not fun, so I found a place close where I live and it was MINT. So clean that it makes ME feel dirty lol, but I asked if they could put the ball back on, they immediately started helping and the piercer took me back. He attempted for about 2 minutes and informed me of what I already knew, that the hoop was bent (I knew because the original piercer kept pinching it together and then prying it apart, which resulted in a slip that clipped my ear) and said I should probably get a new hoop. I sighed, because I didnt want to spend any money, even though it was only $20. I said, fine and he got the hoop in and ball on in 30 seconds. I have small ears and the original piercer complained the whole 30 minutes about it, but he had it done in seconds. Proves his experience AND quality of jewelry I paid for. Worth it. Now I definitely will be returning and he can do my other one. Also, good place for people who may not have any body piercings, but would like to, and are intimidated by other studios that have a rougher atmosphere... This is a classy place for any age or experience level.

Mint was recommended on a moms group on Facebook. We came in and got my 5 years olds ears pierced tonight, and I would recommend ANYONE looking for a piercing to come here, but especially if you have a child. They were amazing with our 5 year old. Really great experience.😊

My friend and her mom made an appointment to go get her nose pierced and Mint failed to inform us even though we called twice that we needed a birth certificate if underage after we went all the way out there. The workers were rude and unapproachable to our needs. Mint should of learned to inform us even over the phone about the new rule of taking the birth certificate because NO ONE carries it with them.

Aweful scheduling... place seems clean and quality jewelry, BUT... had an appt today at 3:30 set up for a piercing. Scheduling is tight as Im in school 5 days a week and have 2 babies.Got notified with multiple texts my appt was cancelled and rescheduled for 2, which isnt gonna happen due to my schedule. A call or even a question form text wouldve been appropriate! Good luck mint, didnt seem like you are busy enough to be rudely moving peoples appts around in my opinion (former small business manager).Oh, and I wont be there at 2 today!

Really professional and everybody is super nice. The piercing was so easy and ive had no problems with it so far. They have a 1 month checkup scheduled to make sure of it aswell. Hiighhhhly reccomended.
