I went searching for a tattoo artist that I thought would do my tattoo justice and let me tell you. I found the perfect artist!! Curtis did such an amazing job with the design that Im so impressed with how it came out. I absolutely love it!Hes an amazing artist and a great person. So cool and funny.Ill definitely be back for more ink. Thank you Curtis, youre the best!!

Curtis did an amazing job. My daughter and I got matching tattoos. I also got one other one to represent my other daughter. He was fast at responding to my messages before our appointment. Once at the tattoo shop he was very friendly, explained everything in detail and made sure we were comfortable. He was very funny too! We both loved his work and we will definitely be back!

Got one done by Curtis and I absolutely love it! He does great fine line work and is super outgoing and made me feel a lot less nervous. I have also gotten pierced by emily and she’s amazing!! love this place and will absolutely go back:))

Emily did a fantastic job piercing our daughter’s ears tonight for the first time. She took her time talking through each step and asked get to know you questions to make our daughter feel comfortable. Emily made sure she knew when it would happen and that she didn’t have to worry about surprises. Emily also was so patient as our daughter took a few minutes before being ready to do the other side and never made her feel rushed to be ready. The steps to maintain cleanliness before, during, and after were phenomenal and she made sure we had time for questions on follow up care. We’ll be back for any piercing needs and recommend her anytime.

Curtis did an amazing job on my tattoo. Not only is he extremely talented but he made the experience great. He was easy to talk to and he makes you feel like your tattoo is the most important tattoo he will ever do. Not only was Curtis great but all the other employees were kind and very helpful.

The first time I went to Pink Elephant was to get 4 different piercings. I got both my lobes done, my conch, and my helix. I have been back 3 times since (once to size the bars down, another time because my conch earring fell out and it had closed a little so I couldnt get it back in, and most recently because I needed help changing my piercings). I had no issues with my piercings healing and the process getting them done was easy and quick. The staff has been incredibly nice even when I felt silly for half the things I went in for. Most times I have been able to walk in and have been seen very quickly. I do recommend making an appointment for piercings though, just so you can be sure youre going on the days the piercers are in! The most recent time I went in, they gave me a few different tips on how to change the piercings and suggested different tools I could use. I plan on getting all of my piercings done here and am really excited to do so!

I got my very first tattoo here, and I couldn’t have asked for a better experience! I had Curtis and he did a wonderful job and he made the process so laid back and was just chill and made me laugh and took my nerves away. I love my tattoo! Would highly recommend this place 😊

I have been to Pink Elephant several times for tattoos, piercings, for myself, my daughter, and friends. Each tattoo artist and piercer Emily have been absolutely fantastic!!! I have always been impressed with their service all around. Each time I have been there however I have encountered the same rude, and unprofessional employee. I am not quite sure what his job there is, but on multiple occasions I have witnessed him be down right rude and act like he absolutely hates his job. I get it, people can have bad days which is why I have never publicly said anything, however after multiple times it seems like this is just him. He was absolutely terrible to the couple in front of me, which made them leave. Yes there was a wait, which in normal circumstances I would have gladly waited. Instead we decided to go elsewhere.

Got a tattoo done with curtis and he did an amazing job, he made it more beautiful than i imagined. He made sure to check in on me frequently, and talked with me and had a great personality. He responded to text fast and worked with pricing. Definitely recommend him.

My daughter had her ears pierced by Emily tonight and she was WONDERFUL! Emily built a great rapport with our daughter and was so patient and reassuring. Infection control and education was on point. 10/10 would recommend her to anyone!

I was getting a double side nose stud, the piercer made sure everything looked good and was not afraid to get a second piercers opinion. Also wasnt feeling good and made sure I felt fine before I left. Gave me water, a sucker and a trash can and checked up on me Also offered to help with the aftercare. Very good service! Very caring! Very professional!

Got a small tattoo from Curtis today and was really happy with the experience! He made it about us by making sure we were comfortable and got exactly what we pictured! Will absolutely be going back!

Just finished up getting my lip pierced with Emily. Great experience! Loved the whole vibe of the shop. There was a little girl getting her ears done before me so I was immediately put at ease. Affordable and informative.

Went in to get my eyebrow done, Emily was amazing! Talked me through the entire process and it barely hurt at all. She even offered to change the bar when she saw it was too big. Loved the experience and love it!

Oriah killed it. She pierced my doubles and repierced my tragus. Wonderful service, clean environment, happy environment. Would 100% recommend to my friends, and will definitely be coming back for more!

Called before actually stopping here for a walk-in nose piercing. Waited about 10-15 minutes, but after that the process was quick and easy.Forgot the piercer’s name, but she was friendly and understanding. My sister loved her nose piercing.

Emily pierced my girls’ lobes and was SO good with them. Talked them through everything, gained their trust, and helped calm them down when necessary. Absolutely recommend for kids lobe piercings!

Emily did such an amazing job with piercing my 3 year old daughters ears! We were in and out in about 40 minutes. She had the right amount of professionalism, patience, and personality to help make my daughter super comfortable with the whole process. Got my first tattoo here a few years ago so I don’t remember the artist (might’ve been Nick?) BUT I do remember this business being super awesome and friendly. I was a walk-in and they were able to help me out and did a fantastic job on my tattoo. Still looks great 3+ years later! Very professional and thorough in making sure my tattoo would last a long time.I also recently went back here for two more simple and small tattoos and Connor did not disappoint. They turned out great and I couldn’t be happier! Gave me a great price for both and ensured I had everything I needed to make sure my tattoo would last a long time. Connor was super friendly and helpful in making sure that I got the tattoo exactly where I wanted it. Will be going back to this shop for future tattoos!

I absolutely love Pink elephant Emily is the only piercer I would go to for anything! She does it so effortlessly, and is so efficient that it’s only a little pinch. I explain to her that I have a fear of needles, and she was absolutely amazing and accommodating walked through every step that she was doing was super explanatory about everything as an aftercare/when things to be changed. I absolutely recommend going and getting something done there, I never leave without a smile on my face.

It was amazing!! We walked in for 4 percing Emily finished up with a client and was able to get use in. We got extra percing then what we were planning because she was just that good. I got my tounge and my septum. My fiance got his septum, tounge, and lobes done. Sh couldnt have helped us more. She helped us with jewelry, after care, placement, and so many questions from my fiance. (He loves chatting and making jokes) she was a star 🌟. We will be back for more percings!!

My 8 year old daughter got her ears pierced for her birthday and Emily was the person that did it. I got my first septum piercing from here by Emily!! She showed comfort to my anxiousness. She generously held the clamp between my nostrils until I was ready for the needle. She was patient and smiled a lot. Very personable too! I will keep getting my piercings from her!

Emily has helped me figure out and fix why my nostril piercings were so sore! She has also went above and beyond helping me order and find a chain in the correct length to put on my nose! I will be going to her for any future piercings she is the best!

Emily did my piercing today and I absolutely love her. She did it quick and really cared about my safety. She walked me through everything as she did it. Emily knows exactly how to talk kids through the process of getting their ears pierced. Smooth and almost painless. Our 7 year old left with a huge smile on her face. 100% would recommend!

My 11-yr old daughters ear piercing experience was exceptional. Emily explained every single step of the process to make everyone comfortable, and my daughter didnt even flinch when the earrings went in. Her care and cleaning explanation was thorough. I recommend a million times over.

Went in and made an appointment to get a matching tattoo with my boyfriends mom. Nick was super nice and went out of his way to find us the perfect size for our placement and walked us through how it would look. He was incredibly careful and his line work was amazing! I was amazed at the outcome it turned out beautiful and I will go back again and again! Truly beautiful work!

Ummm we walked into a very angry artist. We had scheduled plenty of time in advance put down a deposit we were so excited to have a bonding moment. We tried to figure out what exactly he was willing to do and he responded with “we are talking in circles”. Which was a real shame because emails had been sent! If you weren’t interested in tattooing us (the subject of my emails was basic white girl tattoo, so there would be no confusion of who I was) then please tell us before we spend our time on waiting to hang out to celebrate our birthdays with you. No need to be mad.if I appreciate that you Referenced your Instagram, please send it to me as a response to my email, so I can choose a tatoo that you are comfortable with. But he took off not even ten minutes after we left so clearly he wasn’t interested. Just be up front during the email process so we don’t waste each others time. Both are valuable.

I would give Emily 100 stars if I could. Our ear piercing experience was beyond fantastic. Emily was friendly and professional and helped my daughter feel comfortable and informed. We would recommend to anyone and everyone!

Have had Aaron do all of my tattoos including the sleeve we are part way through. Everyone has been great. Shop talk is always upbeat and everyone has great stories to tell, music is varied, and the atmosphere just couldnt be better for a tattoo/piercing place. Extremely clean, great at explaining care and whats going on, and they know what they are doing. Even hearing other artistes work with their clients its clear they are top notch.Highly recommended.

I had a wonderful experience at Pink Elephant today! The piercer (Emily) was so professional and helpful- she didnt try to pressure me AT ALL to buy the more expensive jewelry, but she DID take the time to explain the pros and cons of each one. She was patient and kind and was so gracious despite how nervous and chatty I was! Although I live over two hours away, I returned here after having a great experience four years ago. The expectations held up and I am so glad we came here! Highly recommend.

Took my daughter to get her ears pierced. Emily had good bedside manner but executed the piercing poorly. From the front it looked ok from the back is a different story. I called Emily to let her know and told her I had pictures she offered to repierce them but I declined as I do not trust her to do them correctly given how bad the 1st ones turned out. I personally could not recommend her to anyone for this type of piercing.We did go to another piercer for a 2nd opinion who marked the picture with approximate location of where exit hole should have been. I do not live near pink elephant so opted to go to a closer shop for a 2nd opinion. I also have the piercing process recorded. My daughter was not moving so the misguided piercing was not her fault.

I worked with Kaylee to design a cherry tree inspired tattoo as well as a cover-up. She was very responsive via email during the designing process, and was able to provide me with a strong sense of her artistry and comfort-level with this design. Overall, Kaylee was extremely professional and kind during my visit. Her artistry is exquisite, and I highly recommend her services!

I went into pink elephant yesterday to get my nipples pierced with my best friend and I love how nice the girl Emily was who did my piercing. She made good conversation, was super friendly, made me feel comfortable, and she definitely knew what she was doing ! Highly recommend going to Emily if you want piercings!

Ive had the best tattoo experiences at pink elephant! First, nick was great when dealing with me, as I was getting my first tattoo on my foot. He was very calm and helpful, which is all I could ask for. My second tattoo was a walk in, and it was drawn up and put on me in 10 minutes time. Everything has turned out beautiful! I love it here!

First off at every station they have stencils of tattoo they have drawn which is great gave me an idea for my next one! All they guys are so funny and make it a very calm and laid back environment! Cleanest tattoo shop I have been in! Aaron did my walk in tattoo and actually quoted me less than 3 others I had gotten! Hes a really cool guy, as soon as you sit down he gets very focused and that was really great! He did an amazing job on my tattoo better than I thought it would turn out! I reached out to Connor Humphrey asking him to do a tattoo. He responded quickly stating he had openings on the day we requested and asked for images. I sent the images the same day. No response to any emails after that for nearly two weeks. Then I emailed him again as the date was approaching. He then responded and said the date we chose was now booked and better luck elsewhere. Would not recommend Connor Humphrey to do your next tattoo.

Emily is absolutely amazing! Everytime I have an appointment with her its so smooth and professional. The whole shop also has the best aesthetic.

I had set up an appointment to get a tattoo done for my sister who passed away recently and Kaylee said she would draw it out and send it to me. She hadn’t sent anything and I was supposed to get the tattoo this weekend so I sent her an email, and “somehow” she made the mistake of not putting me on the schedule until the following week. I had changed plans and was extremely excited and honestly she didn’t seem to have remorse more of I was just another person in the world wanting a tattoo. It’s really too bad because her work looks awesome on their site.

I went in today to get my tattoo finished, Conner would not listen to what I wanted in regards to the colors. When I tried to speak up he didn’t want to listen, I had my mom with me as she has been apart of this tattoo journey with me. When my mom went to try and talk to him he was disrespectful and arrogant and just plain rude, for crying out loud he made my mom cry. Conner had zero professionalism. I will never go back to this location if this is how customers are treated.

I had a great experience at pink elephant! My wife got her first tattoo there as did I. Everything was clean and everyone was very nice. But the girl be time I made an appointment they forgot about it and had squeeze me in.

Emily did a daith ear piercing for me 2 weeks ago. I had her do it in my left ear to get rid of migraines.Emily was very knowledgeable and did a fantastic job. Since she pierced my ear I haven’t had any migraines!

I got a tattoo here, and the staff was incredibly nice and helpful getting it set up. The tattoo itself turned out amazing and I will definitely be returning for all future tattoos.

I just went in last night to get a piece on my arm done. About a month ago I went to Pink Elephant and picked out BJ Shorter via his portfolio work and made an appointment. I am beyond impressed at the piece he designed for me and the quality of his work. I could tell he wanted it to be absolutely perfect and made it a good experience. I will come back here for future work and refer all of my friends here as well. Now to wait for it to heal so I can really enjoy it!

Got a couple piercings done, it was super busy. But Emily was efficient and the wait wasnt bad. Plus she made u feel comfortable when getting peirced. Love this place!

Two friends and I decided last min we all wanted to go get a tattoo, they fit us right in with Nick. He was really nice, prompt, and did great work. No complaints at all. Did all 3 tattoos in less than 2.5 hours and that includes drawing up the 3 diff tattoos as well. Will be going back to add onto my piece and my husband wants one done now as well.

Piercing staff were very helpful in answering any questions, and when I lost one of my piercing, they replaced it for free. (I had the standard surgical steel bar, so I cannot claim they do this for all).

Got a tattoo by a guy named Robbie. Very well done exceeded my expectations and worked with me on my design. He was very open about the design and showed that he wanted it to be 100% perfect. Great atmosphere everyone is always smiling or laughing. Good prices too I highly recommend this place!

Just got my ears re-pierced and it was an AMAZING experience! Thank you so much for your knowledge and skills!

They seemed nice enough however Im a bit disappointed to say the least. I had a piercing done here years ago and really liked the service so I tried to come back. Well, we tried 3 days in a row to go in to get a piercing. Their hours online say open until 9pm so on Wednesday we stopped in at almost 8pm, the place was closed but the open sign was still on. Thursday, we tried at like 4pm but were told the piercer was not in on Thursdays. Friday comes, we call ahead to say we would be there at ~6:30-6:45. Get there and same situation as Wednesday. Im not sure if their hours are just wrong but Im still disappointed as we should have been told when we called ahead.

This is by far my favorite place to go. Emily is the best. She is so chill and she knows what she is doing. She was able to squeeze both me and my boyfriend for piercings. Highly recommend!!

Nick was absolutely amazing. He has done a few of my pieces, I love them. He takes his time, makes sure you are comfortable and does what it takes to make a customer happy.

Very disappointing.In the past week or two I made 2 appointments, in which both were cancelled. The first one on a Friday night, the piercer at least called an hour before my appointment to let me know she wouldnt be there. The next appointment I had set up was a Monday night, I drove and showed up to the store but the entire shop was locked and closed. No one showed up or called to cancel my appointment.

I have especially had a great experience with Jordan, who has done such a stellar job on my sleeve that I will be coming back to him for years to come.

I started getting tattooed here back in 2018, Kyle is super chill and awesome to work with. He’s done all of my favorite tattoos to date, and the atmosphere is really friendly all around!

I wish I could say I had a better experience! I loved the tattoo I got and was told by the artist if I had any fading to let him know and hed fix it. Well I emailed him to advise I needed it touched up and he said it was my fault it was fading because I didnt sit still during the process and then proceeded to say he told me the foot was the worst place for a tattoo but that my friend made him put it there. Not quite how it all went down. Then he refused to agree to touch it up. I wont name names because I dont want to stoop that low. Just wish I could give 5 stars! Ill be taking my business elsewhere for my touch up and my next tattoo! Super bummed out.

Ive gotten 2 tattos and by navel peirced here and Ive always left with a smile. My tattoos have come out awesome and the artist, Jessie, did an amazing job at bringing the picture in my head into beautiful artwork. They are also well priced and take a lot of care into making sure you understand after care correctly. Not only this but when I made the mistake of getting an industrial peircing at a different shop and it ended up getting infected and having a host of other problems they helped me to change my jewelry, clean my infection and help me with after care without any extra charge than the cost of the new jewelery. I will never go to another shop for peircing or tattoo!

I was interested in getting my first tattoo at the insistence of my Grandchildren. I didnt get that Tattoo because of the caring attitude of the employee at Pink Elephant. He explained that at my age and with the medications that I take, the tattooing process could tear my skin. It was a simple tattoo that I wanted but he was kind, and careful to point out the dangers and recommended that I not get the ink. He said Pink Elephant wouldnt do it AND I really appreciate the honesty and concern he showed. Having heard from the expert I will be getting a temporary tattoo for my 50th anniversary. I would recommend this location to anyone not in my age group LOL. Thanks again!!

WORST customer experience of my life. The front desk people were very nice, place was clean and fun looking, but getting them to start work and return phone calls seems impossible.I brought in two designs to be drawn up by Nick, but he was with a client so I left the designs with the front desk. I was told I would get an email with the designs and we could go from there. I loved that idea as some places make you go in to the shop before you can see their work. So I waited a week and called to see how long it might be before I see the first draft. Again he was busy, so the front desk said he would email me midweek the next week. I didnt received anything so I stopped in to the shop. Only the front desk people were there since it was a week day around 3 or 4. I was told by the same guy I had been talking to (front desk guy - super nice), that Nick would get on this right away and that he was sorry they hadnt reached out yet. I was told I would get a call or email next week.Again nothing came, so the following week called again - same story...something will be coming via email this week.I called today (a Friday) hoping to catch Nick, who I still havent spoken to. When I called I got a fax machine beep after several rings, so I checked the number again on Google to make sure it was correct and tried again.The guy who answered was a jerk. I know he was busy, and apparently not happy that he had to answer the phone, but regardless, I was looking to spend a lot of money on two custom tattoos....so for a business, customers are everything...I started to explain that I had stopped in nearly a month ago, called again, stopped in again, and called one last time, but despite all of this, I still havent gotten any sort of rough draft, or even a response. He cut me off and said:Okay, well if youd stop, Ill get Nick for you and you can talk to him. As I started to say OK, he finished by saying instead of telling me this whole Fu**ing story... I said you know what, dont bother... Ill take my business somewhere else. He said good bye dude and hung up.So you be the judge, but weeks and weeks of patiently waiting, then basically being told to F Off is a bad way to run a shop.Keep in mind, I didnt ever speak to Nick...he was referred to me by someone else. His work looks amazing, so I was HOPING to have him draw mine, but needless to say Im not going to give my money to them.Pros - front desk people are incredibly nice and helpful-Shop is fun and cleanCons - Dont follow up on calls apparently-HORRIBLE phone manners

I’ve gone to Pink Elephant since they first opened up in Ankeny and have had all of my piercings and two of my tattoos done there. I went there to get another one and a guy named Dante had quoted me for my tattoo after drawing it up. Upfront he quoted an extra $100 if I “squirmed and jumped around like a jelly bean”. I’ve never heard of a tattoo artist quoting extra money before even starting the tattoo. If I had to take breaks and caused him to take an extra hour and a half, sure, I’ll pay extra money. But if I have to take a 5 minute break, how do I know he’s not going to charge me an extra $100 just because he can back it up with quoting that at the beginning? I’ve gone elsewhere for all of my needs after that. Not to mention I tried to get a hold of the owner for 2 months and never got called back. It was very upsetting to lose my go-to location and having to have one of my tattoos finished by a different artist than the one who created the original.

I got my 1st tattoo at Pink Elephant. I walked in and asked if I could talk to someone about designing a tattoo. I talked to BJ and he asked what I wanted. I had some pictures and talked out a design with him. BJ took the pictures and what I said and said come back in a couple of days. I went back a week later and BJ had a outline of the tattoo done. The outline looked great!! made an appointment to get the tattoo. The tattoo turned out great and it looked better then I could ever imagined!!!

I have had one of my two tattoos done hear I brought in the exact design I wanted. The shocking thing was for the size difference between my 1st and this one is quite smaller it was only $10 less. But love it

Would have loved to use this place but they dont answer the phone and the piercer is never around. I TRIED to call and make an appointment so this wouldnt happen but you cant even do that. Extremely unprofessional. At least post online that the peircer will be gone or require appointments.

I got a tattoo here years ago, and just recently took my 14 year old to get her nose pierced. Both times the shop was clean and the staff were friendly.

First time my friend and I walk into this place. One guy asked if we needed help we told him what we needed he said to just look through the albums and went back to another customer, got him setup for a tattoo but never checked back with us again. Two other guys were there also that didn’t bother checking with us either.

Got my first tattoo from here about a year and a half ago. Although I needed to wait for an artist for a while, because I was a walk in, it was worth it!! And although Im now out of state, I may come back when my girlfriend and I decide to get a tattoo. And I also end up on getting one or two more while in the process of getting one with her!

If you want a piercing I suggest Pink Elephant. They are very thorough and clean. Everyone there is very nice and easy to talk to you.
