Angell is such a kind and professional artist! He was flexible and adaptable - he will go above and behind to make sure you love the design and placement. He made adjustments for me and provided an eye for the artistic process that I personally don’t have myself. Thank you, Angell!!!

I have been coming to CC (@Fae Folk Ink) for several years now and they are hands down the most warm and incredibly talented artist in the whole universe! I have gotten both custom and flash pieces from them and each one has been more stunning than the next. Their creativity knows no bounds, and the amount of detail in their artwork is incredible. Every time they release flash I have to stop myself from going bankrupt.If you love fantastical imagery of both light and dark themes, you gotta see CC. Even beyond their amazing artwork, I have always felt completely at ease and safe with them. They really care about you having a positive and comfortable experience and challenge the traditional stereotypes of what a tattoo shop needs to be like. I have had such amazing experiences at Sad Circus Studio and will definitely continue to get tattoos here! My partner and I both got tattooed by Fae Folk Ink (Chanel) and we could not be happier about the quality of work and experience as a whole. The atmosphere is so welcoming and comfortable. I so appreciate them giving time to ensure that we had a positive experience and got the tattoo we wanted. I’m really impressed with the cover-up tattoo they did for me, it went far beyond my expectations!! Highly recommend!

I go here for all of my tattoos and I love it. They are so friendly and understanding. I just got my stomach tattoo done and I kept jumping because it was ticklish but Nico understood and made sure to tell me when he about to start tattooing again. It made me feel so much better, this place and its art is truly the best.

Had a fantastic experience getting a flash tattoo from Angell. Immediately, the studio was so comfortable and felt very safe. The studios are private and that is great. Really enjoyed the conversations and the vibe of the space. Definitely coming back!

Probably one of the best, if not the best, tattoo experience Ive ever had. Traveled from Minnesota to get tattooed by Angell and I cannot gush enough about what a safe, welcoming and comfortable space theyve created. Not just in the space itself, but Angell is also amazing and so silly and fun to work with. 12/10 would come here again to get stabbed.

IF YOU DON’T WANT TO TAKE THE TIME TO READ THIS WHOLE REVIEW, JUST KNOW THAT AS A QUEER NEURODIVERGENT PERSON, I HAVE NEVER FELT SO SO SAFE AND SO RESPECTED IN A SPACE AND IF YOU ARE LOOKING FOR PEOPLE WHO ARE CARING AND AMAZING ARTISTS, THIS IS THE PLACE TO GO!!!Quite literally the best place to get a tattoo in all of Colorado.If you want a place where you feel so safe and so loved and so cared about this is where you need to go.(Also, if you’re looking to get your first tattoo and you wanna make sure that you’re in good hands, I would recommend this studio)The artist that I have seen is Goblin (@ _goblin.god_)He dedicates so much time to you and doesn’t make you feel rushed at all. Truly, the whole experience is about you and your tattoo and It is so beautiful. During my experiences he took the time to draw out my tattoos with me so I could be a part of the process. He was extremely respectful about the fact that I am autistic and sometimes don’t do well with surprises and valued the fact that he was willing to take the time and draw out my pieces with me and stray away from the normal free Hand that he does.I had a moment at my last session with Goblin where I was feeling a bit lightheaded and he did not make me feel bad about having to stop the session and order food n take a moment to eat (a bare minimum thing I know but you’d be surprised on how many just wanna hurry up and get the tattoo done)If you get an opportunity to talk to or work with Angell, please do he is such good company and honestly, you should follow him on TikTok If you’re not already! He makes the cutest tattoo videos and I’m such a fan!! (@crybabyangell)And I haven’t had an opportunity to work with Cici yes but my sister has and we can agree the best word to describe them is simply whimsical!I could seriously write a chapter book about how amazing ALL of the tattoo artists are at the studio!Also, I just want to say that I acknowledge that tattoos hurt but they make it a point here to not go out of their way to hurt you. I have been tattooed by others who legit hurt people for fun and that can be a really scary thought.I CANT RECOMMEND THE SAD CIRCUS FAMILY ENOUGH

Ive gotten 6 tattoos from Nico & Angell (soon to be more), It has been nothing but the best experiences Ive had. Both artists are absolute sweethearts and have the most welcoming/safe environment when it comes down to the actual tattooing. With both of them having their own unique styles, they make sure you get the best of the best. Angell specifically made sure that both stencils from each tattoo was perfectly placed and wouldnt warp. Nico took his time resizing and helping find the perfect placement for each tattoo he did. Overall, I reccomend getting tattoos from either one, you wouldnt be disappointed and youd be in good hands.Edit: For examples of artwork theyve done on me specially my handle is @unholyteeth, I pop up a bit on both of their personal accounts for clearer pictures :) but just incase Ill add some here

This shop used to be hands down my favorite shop to support however Angell have gone out of their way to put change this review. I’ve gotten 3 tattoos from sad circus and each one required MULTIPLE touch up sessions due to the scratchy barely impacted skin treatment and I was perfectly fine with coming back multiple times for minor touch ups. However, the attacking nature that the two owners expressed whenever there is a negative comment, slight concern, or honestly misunderstood statements is what really changes it. The way that they will post attacking social media posts whenever there’s a slight issue, or even just lack of basic business practices such as running out of supplies for appointments, restricting schedules to almost impossible scheduling for anyone who has employment, and then going to social media playing victim. I’ve gone out of my way to recommended this shop to so many people and had continued to recommended this shop to other people in the industry, friends, and people of the lgbtq/trans community. However after a disagreement with someone who I know, (given I had nothing to do with this interaction/discussion) I was met with being blocked on both instagram accounts of theirs. This shop has great work however the two owners of this shop have a long way to go before running a decent business especially when they take such high priority in representing a safe place for the lgbtq/trans community.

If you are traveling through Denver, I highly recommend making an appointment! CC was lovely, willing to work with me on the design, sizing, and placement, and did amazing work! Also, the dog was the best! Highly recommend!

If I could give Angell ten stars I would! One of the best tattoo experiences Ive ever had - and it was amidst the insanity of a convention! Angell made me feel truly safe and cared for, and I loved the conversation we had! It was so nice to work with someone with such great energy. I have been recommending Angell/ Sad Circus to everyone since then and cant wait to go back and get some custom work. Truly a safe space for EVERYONE!! Thank you, Angell!

I had such a great experience working with Angell. I have lots of tattoos, and this was one of the best experiences I’ve ever had. As soon as I walked in, Angell made me feel so comfortable. Angell is so kind, patient, and thoughtful. His work is incredible and he clearly cares very much about doing the best possible job and making sure you love your tattoo. He checked in on me throughout the tattooing process to make sure I was doing okay and was incredibly gentle, so I didn’t experience much pain at all. The communication before and throughout the tattoo process was amazing, and the space itself made me feel really comfortable (private studio set up). Highly recommend getting tattooed here - I will definitely be back!!

I got a flash piece here and I absolutely love it! I have quite a few tattoos at this point and I think getting this tattoo was one of the more relaxing and personable experiences I’ve ever had. Also, I think I made a new friend in the process.

Sad Circus is the place you want to get your tattoos done at trust me it’s the only place I get mine. Nico and Angel are not only some of the coolest people on this planet we call earth. They are absolutely phenomenal artist, if you ever want to get a tattoo please don’t hesitate hit them up. Nico is working on a sleeve for me rn and is absolutely slaying it. If you come to them you will notice they are nice, loving, caring, & clean individuals that do amazing work. Go get that ink therapy and book an appointment so you can get the ink you’ve been needing. You won’t be disappointed one bit they are so sick with it

I had an absolutely wonderful experience. It is a nice change of pace from the normal tattoo parlor setting to get a custom tattoo done in a private studio. One on one with the artist and no interruptions or distractions. High quality work and a really solid after care routine.

Had my first tattoo done by Angell. I couldnt have asked for a better experience. He explained every step through out the whole process. The studio is very clean. I loved the dim light in the room, I felt safe in that environment. Not to mention that Angell’ design is perfect! Can’t wait to get my second tattoo with him.

I was tattooed by Angell and from the moment I entered the studio it was very warm and welcoming. Angell made a point of showing me he was using new unopened products and took cleanliness and sanitation very seriously. His recommended numbing cream works amazing and this was the most pain free tattoo Ive ever had. I highly recommend this studio if you are looking for a private, quiet tattoo shop with people that will go the extra mile to make sure youre comfortable.

Literally my favorite place in Colorado. I’m so grateful the universe brought me to this magnificent little shop. The vibe is unbelievably calming and peaceful considering you’re getting tattooed. Angell and Nico are the most welcoming and hospitable people I have ever met. From my delicate flower to extremely sentimental pet portraits these wonderful people can make your dreams come to life!!! Communication is outstanding and the space is super clean at all times! Masks always welcomed which makes me feel super safe.

I got a tattoo with Angell and it was one of the best tattoo experiences I have ever had. Angell is incredibly gentle and kind and he really takes good care of the tattoo he gives. He is incredibly detailed and knowledgeable. Would recommend this studio to any of my friends, I get compliments on my tattoo from Angell all the time because of the unique style and how well it healed.

I was lucky enough to receive three beautiful tattoos from Angel. They were done so quickly, but with insane detail, precision and gentleness. The studio provided a calm ease and the energy was always welcome no matter what. Chanel made getting my first tattoo in years an amazing experience! While I asked many questions and changed my mind many times, they made me feel comfortable and assured me the piece would be great - and it came out better than I imagined! Highly recommend and I hope to return!

Angell made my tattooing experience so fun, comfortable, and memorable. I also really appreciated how safe and thorough he was with every step in the process— he always explained everything he was doing and why he was doing it, everything was so clean and we were both wearing masks the entire time. Absolutely love Nico and his work! I have been getting tattoos from him for over 7 years! The new studio is very relaxed and clean. My favorite thing about Nico is he takes the time to make sure the piece you are getting is exactly what you want, and where you want it. Every piece I have from him compliments my body beautifully. I have been very satisfied not just with the quality of work but I feel comfortable during each session because he is a very personable, friendly and professional artist. I was definitely a bit nervous for my first tattoo but Im glad I had it done here! Angell tattooed me and did an amazing job, he was super kind and totally made me feel comfortable and walked me through the whole process, I decided to change the placement the day of and he was totally on board with it, it ended up being amazing, definitely the right choice! Shout out to them for even taking care of me with food and water as I got a bit sick/lightheaded afterwards!
