Black Hole Body Piercing & Tattoo

I had a great experience at Black Hole. I got my Helix pierced by Damian. They were very pleasant and helped me choose my jewelry. They ran through the consent form and asked if I had any questions. When Damian brought me back, he immediately put me at ease. He was very kind and made sure that his mark for the piercing was exactly where I wanted it. He gave me multiple opportunities to change my mind about it if I wanted. When it came time for the piercing, he walked me through everything he was doing. He helped me prepare and even made me laugh. I would definitely recommend Black Hole, and Damian, for piercings.

Damien is very good at what he does. I had jewelry exchange done, and he kept me cool and collected with his expert banter. All the while I was surrounded in a sterile, freshly wiped down and not still warm from the prior human environment.

I have not used my pierced ear in 20 years and I thought it was fully closed up. So I signed up for a new piercing. The folks here were so helpful! They were able to re-open my piercing with minimal pain and get it back in working order. They could have easily charged me 3x for this work and said it was not openable but their integrity was amazing.I booked an appointment a hour before I went in, they were so easy and accessible. Despite it being 105 outside their AC kept it under 80 inside.The guy working the front was so kind and helpful and made me laugh. Gave me lots of jewelry options for my piercing.Austin did my piercing. So funny and nice. Great experience. Clean. Fast. Communicative. Instructed me through breathing as he reopened and gauged my ear. Lots of smiles.I will be back if I ever get another piercing.Come here over Claires! Waaaaay better experience and they dont use some dirty gun with minimal training or cleanliness.

The team at Black Hole is incredible. I got the second hole on my lobes pierced and had the most enjoyable experience. As soon as you walk in, cost is made clear to you. Front staff lets you know the cost of the service and jewelry before you get pierced.Austin was wonderful! He did a great job making sure I was not only comfortable, but getting exactly what I wanted. We had a really fun conversation while he walked me through everything he was doing during the appointment.I’ve been here in the past to get some jewelry switched out so I knew they’d take care of me. I’ll happily be back to this location for any further piercing needs.

Great staff, great art, great experience. My only issue is that their location is not accessible if youre in a wheel chair or on crutches. Like, the parking is awful, and also, there is only one set of stairs in, no ramp, etc.

Black Hole was fantastic! Meghann and Damian were wonderfully open and kind both with me and with my daughter; they made sure there were no mysteries for either of us and that we were both completely happy with our piercings and our jewelry choices. Five stars, would absolutely trust them for any other piercings (or tattoos!)

The incredibly kind, personable service blew me away. We came in for a piercing for my daughter, and based on our experiences at a couple other shops, I wasnt expecting much - or maybe I was expecting to have a worry or disappointment. The personal care they took to my daughter was just *great service*. Very professional, knowledgeable, and they built a solid foundation of trust in this one interaction. Love these guys, the piercers are very kind and accommodating and I absolutely have loved every piercing i have gotten here! However, they have never once picked up the phone when i have tried to call (at least 3 or 4 seperate occasions w/ multiple calls each time - and they were open) so thats not ideal.

Austin is so awesome. Super professional. Super clean work. My photo doesn’t do it justice. I’m not photo savvy. I got both nostrils pierced and my septum ring changed out. He made it a great experience. 100% would recommend and will be back.

KADE WAS AWESOME! I got my first tattoo here a little under a month ago and I have 0 regrets. Kade (and everyone else I spoke to) was very kind and professional. Im a weenie when it comes to pain so I had my eyes shut and was holding my moms hand the entire time and I didnt feel judged at all. I felt comforted with a Trixie the drag queen barbie doll watched over me lol.

I took my daughter here to get her ears pierced. The staff was friendly and proffesional. Damien did a fantastic job. Quality materials for piercing jewelry, and safe and sterile practices make this a great choice for getting pierced in washington county.

Went in for a jewelry change for my nose ring and they made it so easy! I was able to talk through what I was looking for before I went in and get a recommendation. Steven did the change - which I’m terrible at - and he was so friendly and chatty (in a good way). HIGHLY recommend!

Really nice jewelry options. I had several piercings done at once and the placement was excellent. Jay took a lot of time with me and gave me really great placement advice. I’m a picky person and am used to being only 75% satisfied with most services at best. But I am 110% satisfied with my experience and results from Jay at Black hole. I will be going back for more when these heal.

Got my tattoo re-worked by Kade and I’m really happy with the results! The shop was very clean too and relaxing music (soft rock) was played which was refreshing compared to other tattoo shops I’ve been to. I’d really recommend Black Hole Body Piercing & Tattoo!

Black Hole Body Piercing & Tattoo is a downtown Beaverton staple. The staff are genuine in conversation and care for what you want to have done by the artists or piercers. Ive had Cade and Anthony tattoo me each twice, and I appreciate how you both took time to see what I saw with my ideas and embellish my bod. Ive seen both my parents get tats here and one of my brothers. Two close friends got their ahems pierced at Black Hole and ALL of us always recommend this place to other family and friends. Youre the best!

Awesome staff, very patient and willing to work with budgets and answer questions. Damian was very encouraging and very present during the piercing process. Im so happy with how my Daith and 3rd lobes turned out, Id definitely recommend Black Hole!

Super clean and tidy environment, awesome staff and redirected me to get an awesome eyebrow piercing after they examined my bridge and found my anatomy would not like a bridge piercing! 😂 They recommended a spiked piercing for my eyebrow to match my spiky septum piercing and Ive never felt so good about my face!! 💖 I love it, thank you yall! 😊

TLDR; the artist who did my work was excellent. The artist that was next to him made me nervous and weary about coming back.I recently visited this tattoo shop and had a great experience with the artist who did my remembrance piece. Clean lines and the final result was exactly what I wanted. However, there was another artist at the shop who was working on a separate client and was very careless in her movements. She was hastily moving things and the floor would wobble (wooden planks) the bed. She even bumped into the bed I was on, causing it to shift. Despite this, she did not apologize or show any concern to me. She did say “oops” very nonchalantly. Just seemed pretty uncool. Thank god Kade is talented af! This lack of consideration made me uncomfortable and I would hesitate to go back to this shop knowing that the other artist may not take the necessary care when working around other artists’ clients. Which honestly sucks because I would love to have Kade do all my future work and touchups. Additionally, I’d hope when running a business you would be compassionate enough to not insult clients likes/their city. We all have our likes and dislikes we can be kind enough to respect that. It was rude and honestly disrespectful. There are some things you can think and keep to yourself, y’know? Please be more thoughtful with your words. Compassion matters.Overall, my experience was positive thanks to the artist (Kade) who worked on my tattoo, but the behavior of the girl next to him And unnecessary judgment in the shop was a major downside to my visit. Having said all that I do cherish my new lil addition. Thank you Kade! 5 stars for you Kade!

Have had 6 piercings done here and theyre doing great! People are amazingly kind, patient and knowledgeable. Shops clean and the piercers are really good about gloving up and sanitizing everything. Theyve even squeezed me in as a walkin when one of my jewelry pieces wouldnt go back in when I was trying to change it and I was worried it would close (septum). Nice jewelry selection too. Havent got a tattoo there yet but Im thinking about it. If I do Ill update the review. Highly recommend this shop.

Hands down best piercing experience ever. Alex greeted me and was very professional answered all of my questions and was super nice! Austin was my piercer and he made me feel very comfortable and relaxed. The piercing process was quick but he really takes his time to make sure he gets everything symmetrical (I got nose piercings each nostril) and I can’t express how much I appreciated him making sure everything was right. He was very informative about the after care. Both amazing people and the shop itself is great. Would go back again for sure!!!

Michael has done all my tattoos and I will not go anywhere else, he’s the best. Exceptional line work and attention to detail! The shop atmosphere is awesome and super chill. Have gotten probably 20+ tattoos here - Love this place.

I luvvv this place the front desk guy is literally the best and is so so nice. Very informative too he always makes sure you feel like you get the jewelry you want, and is willing to go above and beyond to help. I go to this Blackhole bc of service like his. He makes the space inviting and comfortable esp since getting a piercing or tattoo can be a very personal experience.

I initially came in for a belly button piercing but after taking a look, Damian concluded that I didn’t have the correct anatomy for it. I was really grateful that he told me this to save me from a painful healing process. He also offered to give me another piercing and I thought, why not get the eyebrow piercing I’ve been thinking about? So we did it and I LOVEEE it. The placement is perfect and the jewelry is a perfect fit. I was sent home with thorough aftercare instructions and a bottle of saline wound wash. Will definitely come back for future piercings 😌

Got my nostril pierced by Austin. An incredible experience! He was funny, very informative, and helpful throughout the entire process. Also encouraged you to breathe through your piercing session which reduced the pain and nerves a lot! Front desk staff was very helpful and professional as well. Great experience overall and would come back for more piercings!

I brought my daughter in to have her ears pierced. They were so amazing with her. They made sure she was ready and comfortable as well as making sure she understood the process before the piercing. They were quick and made the process as pain free as possible. We couldnt have been happier!

I am a 73 yr old gramma who had an earlobe pierced and the other lobe reopened. (Originally pierced 60 years ago) The waiting room, and the procedure room were spotless, the front desk gentlemen was polite and helpful. The star had to be Austen. He was funny, calming, professional, and explained every step of the way. He explained why and corrected a piercing misalignment from the past. A wonderful and skilled craftsman who made the whole procedure a great experience. Highly recommend Black Hole.

I’m done being gaslit about my awful experience. February of 22’ I made an appointment with Rachel to get my Jestrum done. Went in, got it done, she told me to come back in a couple weeks to downsize. I went in to get my bar downsized, I then inquired that evening if I could purchase a smaller gemstone for my Jestrum. She was more than willing to help, she ordered the product there and then since it wasn’t in stock at location and took my card information for that order. She told me it should arrive in a few months and she would call me when available for pick up. I left, waited for months, never received a call. Went in March of 23’, discussed what had happened with a man at the front desk (tall, bald guy with a beard) and he checked the system for my purchase. He saw a $40 charge from that downsize appointment and told me it appeared that I had indeed purchased that gemstone during that appointment. He told me he was sorry for the inconvenience, handed me the order pamphlet of gemstones, told me to show him the one I had initially ordered, and then told me to pick another one off the pamphlet on the house (free) due to the inconvenience. I thanked him and he had me sign a paper with my contact information for pickup. I waited a month, no response. My mother was with me when I had picked out the two pieces of jewelry, she was confused why I had not been called about the purchase yet and worked near the area so she inquired the same man about the update on the purchase and it’s availability. The man said they were available but we had to pay $60. My mother was confused obviously as this didn’t align with the previous interaction. She retold the situation to him, he then started claiming that I never purchased the product to begin with and only came in last month to purchase the gemstones because I loved the prices. The man refused to acknowledge my payment and kept insisting that I intentionally WANTED to purchase the two gemstones. My mother got so frustrated with his lies that she started to get offended as he started stating that they would never offer free product and that isnt how their business ran, insinuating that we were LYING about the situation for free product. My mother left enraged at these false claims, she felt targeted as a foreign woman with a thick accent and felt these liar claims were deliberately placed on her because of that. I went back to Blackhole the day after to clear the air with bank statements. The same man was there, I told him the situation once again, he got visibly upset and said my mother was in there the other day and treated him and his shop poorly because they couldnt provide free product. When inquired about what she had said that was so bad, he had nothing to say, just stated that I should ask her myself. I showed my bank statements from March of 22 with the $40 charge towards during the downsize appointment towards the gemstone I never received. He pulled up the same statement on his computer, then began to say that the charge wasnt for the gemstone it was for the down sizing appointment? This of course frustrated me since he said I did indeed pay for it a month prior. His statement that the gemstones didn’t even cost $40 is strange considering he wanted to charge me there and then $60 for two gems (around 30 each). The man went on the same speech to me as my mother claiming we were trying to get free product (why would I waste so much time “scamming” you out of a poor quality plastic gem?) and he called me a “little girl” when I started sobbing. I’m a paying adult customer not a little girl, which is so incredibly sexist. I left infuriated in tears, being lied and accused of something Im not. I now realize I have been deceived and coerced into giving this business more money. It was all lies, he manipulated the situation to coerce myself as a vulnerable young woman into spending more money on the business. Never go here, this place is a scam, liars that lack a basic moral compass when confronted. Also sexist and xenophobic. AVOID AT ALL COSTS

You wont get a better experience for the lower prides. Austin was extremely chill and made it a very comfortable safe process to get my septum pierced. He really took his time to make sure it was done correctly and it turned out great!Strongly recommend this place 👍

Very professional and clean. We went in for piercings as a group of 4. Our piercing pro was Jason and he was wonderful. We were able to all go back together which helped calm our nerves and made it more fun. Plus Jason was a fun individual and was a pleasure to talk to. Everything was sanitized between each piercing and Jason explained every step along the way so we knew what to expect. Also the jewelry is implant grade and they offer a large selection of gems and colors/sizes. I would highly recommend Black Hole to anyone looking for a professional piercing studio.

My daughter had her ears pierced by Austin and had a great experience. She says he was nice, kind and funny and helped her not be scared. I appreciated the staff’s professionalism and how they treated her like a full autonomous person, not just a little kid. Can’t say enough good things!

I could not have had a better experience getting my helix (cartilage) pierced a couple of weeks ago. I was anxious and I had only had my lobes pierced 15 years ago. I have been wanting this piercing for a long time but was too anxious about it. Damian was patient and caring. Made sure I was as comfortable as possible and helped me with the anxiety. It has been healing great even with how sensitive my skin/ears are. I would give more stars if I could.

I had a navel piercing done by Rachael and my partner had their ears pierced, it was the best experience we could have asked for! The piercings came out perfect, and Rachael made sure to get consent for and explain everything she was doing which is comforting regardless of whether youve been pierced a million times (like me) or its your first piercing (like my partner). If youre especially nervous (or just want an amazing piercing) Rachael is definitely the person to go to!

These guys are fantastic. Over the past few years I have worked with several members of their staff & every experience has been exceptional. They have done 5 of my tattoos - currently working on a cover up from a bad one I got at Adorn years ago (photo below) - I have brought my two best friends and both of my brothers here for their first tattoos (also shown below). I have even had my nose pierced here twice and a couple different spots on my ears. They are always fun and very patient with my picky girly nonsense. I have had a number of pieces done elsewhere and I will never again go to anyone else. Their artwork is fantastic and their needle work is flawless. Cannot recommend them highly enough.

I got my septum pierced and it was done well. He made it so I hardly felt it go in. I was super nervous too. But it was done in a flash and I love it.

I had to go in for multiple sessions, and every time the whole staff was helpful, fun, and upbeat. The work itself is incredible, and the whole place has a great vibe. Super respectful and informative!

Perfect! Costumer services is amazing. I needed my piercings to be removed due a medical procedure. I have a conch piercing, is hard to be removed and put it back on my own. I called and asked if someone could help me with that. They gladly removed them ( 7 piercing and 1 nose piercing) and put them back after my appointment.

I came in to get some jewelry changed and Damien was so kind and I was in and out so fast. He’s a pro! This place was hopping and it’s a fun little spot to go with friends :)

The piercer there was phenomenal when my kiddo came in to get her eyebrow pierced. Very informative, walked her and us parents through everything, and was super friendly. He was super quick and she said it didnt even hurt. Ill recommend him any time.

Got my ears pierced for the first time, and it was a lot easier than I expected, and I felt really equipped to take care of my piercing sites afterwards. I loved the approach of marking the sites beforehand to make sure I was happy with the placement.Im going to get tattoos eventually, and this place is high on my list of options for where to get them.

Austin performed several piercings for me about 2 months ago at the Portland location. I went in to the Beaverton location today and Austin happened to be there to swap out my jewelry. He is an awesome piercer and I can’t recommend him enough. Polite knowledgeable and friendly.

Made an appointment with the portland location for a jewelry purchase and jewelry change. The prices are very good and I had such a great customer service experience! The gentleman that helped me find the right piece gave me best friend vibes and it was really great to be taken care of so well. The piercer was also such a great guy! Very gentle and quick! Excellent experience! They got us in for a last minute piercing appointment on a Saturday. They were welcoming and wonderful. Everything was clean and extremely well organized.

I took my 9yo to get their ears pierced and it was a great experience. Austin explained the process and after care clearly and made my child feel as comfortable as possible.

Horrible customer service experience, I called to schedule an appointment to install my piecing and I had to hear all about the person who did my piercing quit and left them hanging. As I customer I dont need to hear all that. BTW, the piercer was AMAZING!I paid $130 to order jewelry and install and the person HUNG UP ON ME on the phone. I dont think anyone has ever hung up on me - very unprofessional. I dont feel safe going into the Beaverton location to even pick up my jewelry - i want a full refund.

The staff was amazing and the piercing was great! Super welcoming. The only reason I only have 2 stars was because the website prices are not even close to being the end price. I paid more than triple the online amount and I drove 35 min to get the piercing and didn’t want the drive to be a waste of time. I was not happy about it at all but I’m too much of a people pleaser to have said otherwise so I just paid it. So definitely expect to pay way more than the online price

These people are extremely kind and patient. I am almost totally deaf. They allowed me to not only take my time choosing my jewelry, they explained (by writing everything down) the costs, medals and procedure completely. They definitely want to make sure you are comfortable with your piercing. It is clean and they are very knowledgeable. They came highly recommended by a friend at work. So glad I took their advice.

I love the people here. I only subtracted a star because for my very first tattoo, the artist (and I dont remember his name) walked away to talk to someone about a tattoo, after telling me that when you leave it and come back, it hurts more. I love the work he did, solid color, hasnt faded in any weird way. That one thing really threw me off. Again though, I absolutely love the artists and piercers here, theyve done multiple piercings in my family and theyre all placed perfectly.

Definitely a safe place to get a piercing! I’ve had my second lobe piercing from here for a few months and so far no infections/difficulties with it. The aftercare instructions are very helpful. I gave this place a 3 stars because the pricing online is not accurate (I paid a lot more than I thought) and I didn’t feel super comfortable during the piercing process.

I brought my daughter here to get her ears pierced for the very first time and I was so impressed! Cassandra was her piercer and she presented everything to my daughter perfectly. She made her feel in control of the situation and very comfortable. I am so grateful for our wonderful experience here and will definitely be back!

I went in to see if my lobe piercings had closed, and Rachel was able to re-open them (I guess they hadnt fully closed, so no re-pierce was needed). And I got beautiful new jewelry that is very comfortable and very-very metal safe for my allergic reactions. Honestly, everyone there was very open, communicative, supportive, flexible. It was just such a wonderful experience, I am now using them exclusively going forward.

I got my nostril and lower lip done here for my 16th birthday. The piercer made me feel comfortable as well as the person helping me pick out jewelry, I ended up not needing to downsize because the initial length was perfect. They both healed fast with no complications! :)

I’ve gotten the majority of my piercings here from cartilage to belly button to tongue to nose piercings. and I love this place. They are kind, look out for customers, explain everything, make you feel safe and are very clean and professional. I’ve gone other places but none are as good as black hole. I would 100% recommend this place. They are so amazing. And worth every penny!

I had my bridge pierced at another shop a while ago, turns out they positioned it very poorly so I had to take it out and let it heal. I had moved up here recently so I wanted to find a new piercing shop. They know what they are doing here! They are very professional and knowledgeable, and really care about you loving your body art. Rachael pierced me today and she did an excellent job, very quick and easy. I would highly recommend anyone to this shop for quality service and reliable information on piercings!

Black Hole was a great choice for my first piercing since Claires in 2011!!! Ash was very friendly and knowledgeable in helping me pick jewelry. Mateo was extremely professional and patient with us being nervous. He has impressive credentials and experience, too. I would recommend this place to anyone looking for a piercing!!!

The piercer didn’t map my face at all to do a matching nostril piercing, and it shows. Angles are super important when it comes to matching piercings. I wish I could remember their name so people could avoid them and their neglectful practice. Never coming back.

I had my septum done at another shop, and the end came off. No one was available at the shop I went to, so I called here. They were great! I loved the atmosphere for one, and their customer service was superb. My jewelry wasnt compatible with theirs, and the jewelry ended up breaking because it had given him some hope and he was trying to save me from having to buy a brand new piece of jewelry. Im not upset that it broke at all, because I was super happy that they were trying to help me. I ended up with a new piece of jewelry discounted for the broken piece. We just took our 10 year old daughter in to have her ears pierced for the first time. Rachel was wonderful with her - she really took her time to make sure my daughter understood each step and was comfortable with what was going to happen. The whole experience was very professional, from scheduling to check out, and we appreciated all of their precautions around safety during COVID. Highly recommend!

I got my septum pierced by Colter the other day. It was my first piercing and it couldn’t have gone better. Everything was explained to me beforehand and during the process. Final price was comparable to what was advertised on the website, and communicated to me before the process started. 10/10 for kind, compassionate folks and a clean, sterile environment.

Piercers here are very knowledgeable and willing to answer any and all questions to make sure you get the information you need to have the best experience possible. They never fail to give the best advice and are just great humans! I dont have a lot of experience with the tattoo folks here, but the times I have talked with them and then sat while they tattooed others has been just as impressive as the piercing side.

Im a newer supporter here. However. I found BlackHole after having been a client at Paramount in Portland. I found with BlackHole & staff that its a much more personal experience. None of the feeling like being on a production line. Rachel was the piercer we got lucky enough to be introduced to and she was amazing. She walked my daughter (NOT her 1st body piercing)thru the piercing procedure step by step which she really appreciated. She educated her on properly caring for the new piercing and even gave her info for the long term. Quick, steady hands and a straight lineup with proper placement show just how experienced she was. On a personal level I consulted with her on some more extreme or complicated placement of piercings and her knowledge is vast! Really looking forward to having more done with her!!On the practical side..yes you may see some higher prices here over the conveyer belt style shops that focus on volume. Thats because its a more experienced staff using higher quality materials and equipment. Its well worth it!Yes, theyre booked months in advance at times..however, check frequently as they get cancelations. Again. Its worth the wait!

Came in with my 18 year old and we got her bellybutton pierced. They made us feel comfortable and they were clean and sanitary and I highly recommend.

Second time Ive been here for a facial piercing and Ill be back for many more! They are very respectful, always asking for permission when touching your face, asking for your pronouns, and help you through the process of the piercing itself. None of my friends have had their piercing that was done here get infected or reject, and the quality of the jewelery itself is very nice. 10/10 would recommend

I gotta say Colton absolutely saved me last night when a 15 year old piercing I had became logged in my skin. He saw me at the end of the night with no notice. He not only fixed my piercing but had to think outside of the box in order to do so. Went in today because my Tragus piercing had fallen out and needed to be replaced. I called to make sure they would be able to do it (It was relatively late into the evening) and they were beyond friendly and helpful on the phone. I came in and was immediately greeted by two women, asked what I needed, given multiple options. I ended up leaving with new tragus and double nostril jewelry. They are so quick, friendly, informative. Absolutely amazing, I 100% recommend this place to anyone. I will definitely be going back.

They were instantly warm, welcoming, & sincere. I came in here with my eleven year old son because he wanted to get his ears pierced for his birthday. He ended up getting nervous and changed his mind at the last minute, but everyone was amazing with him. I believe Rachael was his piercer and she was very open, honest and patient. I really appreciate the constant vigilance about consent and what that means because it’s something I am always trying to teach him. Even though we left without getting anything done, I feel confident that this will be a great place to come again in the future. I also appreciated the attention to cleanliness, especially now.

Went in last minute looking for a tattoo and happened to have an opening the next way which was awesome. I went in yesterday and Rachael was amazing. I had jewelry stuck in a piercing that I tried to remove myself multiple times and just couldnt. In what felt like 5 seconds, the old jewelry was out and the new was in. Painless and easy, 100% recommend!

I had a tattoo done by Mark on crazy short notice because Im super impulsive. I picked what I wanted and in less than 2 hours he had it drawn up and I was on the table. I absolutely love it and cant wait to get back up and add to it. I would also highly recommend Mike as well, hes done other work for me and it is hard to choose between the two of them. Ive been going here for 10 years now and it is still 100% top notch on all fronts. I love the gals at the front! They are so warm and welcoming and are always checking on me, cracking jokes, and making it an upbeat atmosphere. 10 stars for Black Hole!!!!!!

My best friend recommended the location in Beaverton, as that’s where she had her piercings done. It was a bit far for me to go, so I went to the location on Glisan.The guy who did my piercing was funny and maintained a very clean working environment. I can’t say it was painless because all piercings hurt (at least for me anyway), but aside from that, everything was smooth and I can say it was even fun with the gal out front and the guy who did the piercing (Matt). They were patient while I decided on what piece of jewelry to get and helpful answering questions. The prices are reasonable and the customer service was great. My new nostril piercing looks perfect too. I highly recommend this place for piercings!

Huge shout out to Rachael! I’m not a fan of needles but really wanted my nipples pierced. She answered all of my questions and walked me through every step. She was very gentle (or as gentle as humanly possible) and my piercings are healing faster than I expected.

This is the only place I go to for piercings any more. I have had both Rachel and Matteo, and they are both fantastic, and if you are scared of needles or have a low pain tolerance, I highly recommend either of them for receiving a piercing.(TL;DR at the end, as this seems like an essay.)For reference, I have a very low pain tolerance, and an extreme fear of needles, so I typically need someone there with me to keep my mind off of the fact that I am receiving a piercing, and experiencing, in my opinion, excruciating pain.When I was getting my second lobe piercing done a few years ago, my mother was in the room with me, holding my hand, and talking about One Direction to distract me. Rachel immediately jumped in with my mother to talk to me about One Direction to keep me distracted. In most environments, I am heavily judged for being an adult and liking One Direction, but Rachel made me feel like I was in a safe and non-judgmental environment the entire time, and I barely felt the piercings because of it. I have not had someone so kindly jump in on a conversation about One Direction with me since.With Matteo, I have not had my mother in the room when I have received piercings from him, but he sets a calm environment from the beginning, and is polite the entire time, even if others in the room are being rude. He made me feel comfortable from the get-go, and when I was getting a friendship piercing with a friend of mine, he had me go first, as I was the most anxious about getting my cartilage (helix) piercing, so seeing my friend receiving her cartilage piercing would not cause any undue anxiety on my part, and I was fine because of it.Both Rachel and Matteo have made my piercing experiences safe and comfortable, and they are 2 out of the only 3 people I trust in the entire world for my piercings, with the third being in Dublin, Ireland.I have also had great experiences with the people in the front, as they are always kind, and I never feel like I am being talked to condescendingly as I have with other places, as I am not covered in tattoos, nor do I have many piercings that can be seen immediately.(TL;DR)For anyone who is scared about receiving piercings, or has a low pain tolerance, I would highly recommend Black Hole Piercing & Tattoo of Beaverton, Oregon, as the people at the front desk are very kind, and both Rachel and Matteo provide the safest environment when getting piercings.

Im a super impulsive person. So Ive been thinking about getting this tattoo for A WHILE. but never really did anything about it. Until today, I impulsively called them and asked if they could do it today. Not only did they happen to have time today, but it turned out SO FRIGGIN AMAZING. Brianna (hope Im spelling that correctly) was so sweet and when she drew it up (after me giving very little description, sorry😬), she drew EXACTLY what I wanted without me even knowing before hand that was what I wanted it exactly to look like. She did such a beautiful job! I LOVE IT SO MUCH! And also it being my first tattoo, she was so nice, understanding and just, everything. I couldnt of asked for a better experience. thank you guys so much. Im so happy with my tattoo❤❤❤.

My teenage daughter and I went for nose piercings and we had an incredibly positive experience. The atmosphere is great and the staff are friendly, knowledgeable, and professional. We had Rachael pierce our 10 year old daughters ears. Every step of the way, they were amazing! Rachael made sure that our daughter was comfortable, armed with knowledge, and 100% consenting (at any and every point).Our daughter has been wanting her ears pierced since she was 5. I have been going to Black Hole ( Beaverton ) for 5 yrs now. Street parking has always been available. Since COVID, they have changed visit protocol. Otto was very professional and friendly. He was able to clearly explain the check in process as they are now appointment based. I have been seeing Rachael for all my piercing needs. She is very knowledgeable and patient. Never judges you for your questions. Always pleasant to have a conversation with. I dont ever feel rushed to pick out my jewelry. If piercings didnt take as long as they do to heal, I would probably be here more often!

My 4.5 year old has been begging to get her ears pierced since she was 3. We decided it was time. Even though their shop policy is usually a minimum of 5 years old, they told me to bring her in and see how she reacted to the environment. Definitely understandable since they cant be flailing around.Thankfully Matteo was there to pierce her ears. He was outstanding with my daughter. Shes been going around telling people about the funny guy that pierced her ears. He cracked jokes with her and made her feel completely at ease. He was even a nanny at one point in his life.Everything was very clean and sterile and we have had no issues with the piercing. Of course, she cried a little but she was so brave and it definitely helped having a great piercer. Thank you Matteo! And thank you to the lady at the front desk. I think her name was Lainie. She was very friendly and helped my daughter feel at ease too.

I walked in here today to get one tattoo and walked out with 2 tattoos and 3 piercings! My piercings were pretty existing but hadnt had jewelry in over 10 years but Matteo was still able to locate the original holes. Lets just say I am one satisfied customer!

This place is absolutely amazing. I just got my industrial, my first cartilage piercing!! The person who pierced me told me everything they were going to do and when they were going to do it. If I plan on getting another piercing Im definitely coming back to here!

This is my go-to for all tattoos and piercings.My daughter asked for a cartilage piercing as a Christmas present. She turns 13 in March, and I took her there. The very knowledgeable piercer talked with us for awhile and decided that they would do it.He kept asking her questions while he was doing the piercing, and she had no idea that it was done.She loves it and has healed so nicely.

Came in here 4 years ago to get my naval pierced. They turned me away because I “didn’t have the right anatomy for a naval piercing” and said she couldn’t pierce it. Way to make a 17 year old feel bad about their tummy lol. Well, I went somewhere right after and they pierced it no problem and were very professional about it, I’ve had it for years and it’s healed perfectly and never migrated. I still don’t know why they told me that and wouldn’t pierce it, they pierced my friend that came in with me no problem and had the same exact looking “naval anatomy”.

Probably best shop for getting pierced in Beaverton in my opinion. Rachel is awesome! Gave me an inverted lip piercing. Quick, Professional and hella friendly. Calling here isn’t guaranteed they are busy people so if you really want something just use their online booking much easier. Thanks 🤘🏻

I brought my 8 year old daughter to get her ears pierced for her birthday wish. She was nervous because the last time she had her ears pierced at Claire’s, it was very traumatic and painful. We ended up taking out her earrings and the piercing closed. So we decided to try again at The Black Hole. TBH I wasn’t sure how it would go, but I read the good reviews and hoped for the best. Well, they FAR exceeded my expectations and made my daughter’s birthday wish come true! No tears and anxiety with this piercing thanks to Matteo and the lovely Burr!!! You guys made this Mama so happy because of the huge smile on my daughter’s face when she saw her new sparkly earrings. Thank you all so much!!!

I’m pretty squeamish about needles. I went in to get cartiledge pierced and he was very patient. He made sure I was ready before he pierced it and gave me a ton of information about what it would be like to have the piercing. The staff was very patient with my questions and made me feel welcome. I had a wonderful experience. I definitely reccomend this place to anyone who enjoys amazing service from kind people.

UPDATE!!!! I went back and got a tattoo which turned out amazing and I also took my 7 year-old to get her ears pierced here. Both trips were perfect. Our piercer went above and beyond helping and waiting for her to be ready. I will be back again.I got my nose pierced here and went back for a tattoo later. Everyone one was amazing from the time I walked in until the time I walked out. They really want you to have a great experience and have a good outcome with whatever you are getting done. Today I got my labret pierced by Rachel (I think that was her name).It was by far the best piercing experience Ive had! It went very fast and the piercer made sure I was completely comfortable before moving forward with any step.The front desk lady was also very kind and helpful!I will definetly come back for more!

Michael is a tattoo god. He put a beautiful koi on me 5yrs ago so naturally when I needed to fix work I received from another artist (I was on colorado, it was spontaneous), he was my first choice. 2 more sessions to go and so far I could not be happier. I went here to get my septum pierced because of the good reviews all my friends told me about Black Hole, and its awesome! Aimee pierced my septum, and she was super informative, quick and professional! The actual piercing took less than a second and didnt hurt at all! (Mind you this is my septum) They gave us all of the stuff required for after care and were extremely friendly and helpful! I will deffinetly be coming back for any future piercing/tattoo needs! I could not imagine a more perfect piercing experience. I would highly recommend them to everyone.

Matteo is incredibly knowledgeable and experienced; I was blown away. He made me feel very comfortable during the process. I hardly felt the piercing. I was a walk in, but I would recommend calling ahead of time to make sure he is working.

Got a tattoo done here a few months ago with some friends who got matching ones. However, the tattoos for all of us is terrible. The lines work is wonky and all different sizes. All of us have previous tattoos so we all took care of our tattoos, and yet all ended up gross. We are all paying for coverups. 0/10.

Went in for a VCH piercing and I was SUPER excited but also really nervous! Rachael did an amazing job of explaining everything to me and making sure I was comfortable. While the piercing itself was obviously going to come with some pain, I feel like she did it so well that it wasnt nearly as painful as it could have been. If you want a genital piercing I highly suggest seeing her based upon my experience!

I worship at the shrine of the divine Rachael! I have several piercings from her, some in very intimate locations. And while I cant say it was a pleasure, she made the pain worthwhile. Shes calm, caring, and cheerful. I wouldnt trust my bits to anyone else ... Not anyone else in Beaverton, anyway.

I was prepared to get my nose pierced, but the lady was so rude i had to walk out and go elsewhere. there were two other people waiting ahead of me, and i clearly stated that i was not in a hurry- but its clear that she does not work well under pressure. thats fine, there are tons of piercers in portland that are fully capable of treating paying customers with class.

Great piercing artists, knowledgeable, however they dont have much of a selection of body jewelry....its either cheap stainless steel captive ring or outlandishly expensive like gold with precious stones. I was really disappointed in selected septum rings... I usually go to Adorn but Black hole has better prices for the piercings​.

Colter did an amazing job explaining the procedure and made the experience fantastic and for that reason I will return however, the receptionist was rude. Maybe she was having a bad day, or what but if Colter wasn’t amazing I would not return because of how rude the receptionist was to me for no reason.

Ive gone a couple of times for piercings. Sometimes they are really nice and other times I get a weird vibe from the place. As in I didnt always feel welcomed and kind of makes me want to go elsewhere in the future. I have purchased cute earrings there though.

Ive been here before and never had an issue until today, I understand it was a long wait to get piercings done but the gal behind the counter was just plain rude. Someone who had been waiting longer then me asked simply how long it would be 15 mins whatever an the gal was rude as hell answering her. I felt like I was inconveniencing them so I said I was going to leave the gal simply smirked an told everyone Guess the line is getting shorter if she is still there I dont think Ill be back and it sucks because I was looking to get my next tattoo here but I dont want to go there if I feel like Im unwanted when im a paying customer.

Love this place. I have gotten all my piercing and tattoo here. The artist are true artist. You can bring them a picture in and they can bring it to life better then you imagined. Always have a great sense of humor, and always helpful and nice. I recommend this place to all my friends.

I recieved my first tattoo on Sunday at the Beaverton location and am absolutely thrilled with the results!! I went in with a drawing and an idea and some colors in mind (only took ke 40 years to figure out what i wanted ...lol). Everyone in the shop was EXTREAMLY kind and professional! I was very impressed with the cleanliness and brightness of the shop. Jay listened to what i wanted, and made some recomendations. I gave him my drawing and set up an appointment for the next day. I was super excited, when finally it was the next day and time for my appointment. When he showed me what he came up with from my drawing and just by talking to me i felt tears come to my eyes, its like he pulled the image right out of the picture in my head. He was extreamly patient and explained everything! Its been 3 days now and Im still absolutly amazed at how awesome it is! And to top it off the price he originally quoted me was more than what he ended up charging me when all was said and done. I would highly recommend Black Hole to all my friends. (I already cant wait to go get my next one) Thank You Jay for an amazing tattoo!!!!

Got my daughters navel piercing here. Fair prices and nice clean environment. Felt the staff was intelligent with their trade. No clue about the tattoo work but def good for piercings.

I went in to get some new jewelry, and the person behind the counter told me I wasnt cleaning my jewelry correctly (which was fine), but she flat out refused to sell me other jewelry. She acted like I was being a bother. I drove over to a competitors shop and got the jewelry I wanted (and spent a nice chunk of change with them). I wont go back to Black Hole.

I went here last Saturday to get my nostril pierced, I was pleasantly surprised by the amount of time every employee took with me to help me pick out the jewelry and by how reassuring the piercer(Matteo) was. I was a little nervous about the whole thing as I have a fear of needles but I couldn’t have been helped by better people. I couldn’t recommend this place enough

Once I got there I realized that I had forgotten my wallet, but they reinstalled my piercing for free anyways- even though the jewelry wasnt theirs. It took about two seconds and the staff were so friendly, informative, and professional. Thanks for the help!

I went here last year to get my dermal piercing changed and the piercer just went up and tried to remove the jewelry with her hands!! She obviously didnt get it off and when I went somewhere else they used a tool and it went great. Considering getting a new piercing this year but I feel uncomfortable going to Black Hole after that experience.

I have had a piercing done by Emily, a tattoo done by Tom, and just got another tattoo today done by Mike. I can say that I will never go to another shop for anything. Every single person who works there is extremely nice and very knowledgeable. Fair pricing and excellent work.

I have been to other tattoo places where the artists are pretentious and arrogant but these folks are both fun and silly yet professional. I would get another tattoo her in a heartbeat. These guys/gals are a class act.

My piercer Austin was really great at explaining everything that was going to happen. I am happy with my piercings.

Matteo was amazing, he was patient and sweet with our little girl who was so set on getting her ears pierced today. Everybody here was friendly and funny. A very nice atmosphere.

I spilt my coffee all over their floor on accident they were so nice about it and I offered to help but they refused! My friend got her nose pierced and was super nervous about it but the piercer calmed her down quite well and was so easy going! Loved it.

Very busy, we couldnt even talk to someone for 20 minutes. This place is very knowledgeable and you can be sure they wont lead you astray just to get a sale. Plan ahead and dont expect to walk in and get a piercing done ( like my 15 yo did).

If you need anything piercing or tattoo related, this is the place to go! Very knowledgeable and helpful staff, I dont care how far I live, this is where Ill go.

Jewelry i was given fell out and wouldn’t go back in. wasn’t given a needle to put them back in either. not to mention the guy putting it in was super violent for no reason

I have my septum pierced and the piercing had come out. (Granted, I didnt have it pierced at black hole, but you would assume a piercing place can help you put it back in). I go in a couple Fridays ago and it was busy, but I figured it only takes two seconds to put it back in (I know I should be able to do it myself, but my nails are long and I cant....get over it). The girl at the front counter said we dont have time for an install. Thanks for understanding. All in one sentence. First of all, no I dont understand. And second of all, right after that I happened to go to rite aid and the girl behind the counter had the same piercing, I asked her to do it, she went on break and did it! 😂😂😂😂 #riteaideknowscustomerservice #thanksfornothingblackhole

I went there to get pierced. The artist was extremely delightful to interact with. They walk you through the whole process and care about their customers a lot. Definitely would recommend going here to get your tattoos and piercings :)

They were so friendly! I came in to get a lobe piercing that had partially closed re-opened, brought my own jewelry, and they did it all free of charge!

Horrible customer service. Was told I could be fit in for my 6p appointment early. Ended up waiting another hour. I understand Covid and hope things get better. At least better front end customer service would be helpful.

Michael did a great job fixing a tattoo from a previous artist. He was sort of funny while also being kind of a jerk and douchey tho. Unfortunately when wanting to add on to it with some flowers, he really didnt capture what I wanted at all. Upon coming back to let him know he was nonchalant and could honestly care less. He also wanted me to pay more for HIS permanent mistake on my skin. I definitely do not reccomemend him for flowers lol.

The people were really nice not just the piercer (Rachael) but the receptionist as well. the wait wasnt that long and it was extremely clean. The price was vary reasonable and jewelry was beautiful. 10/10 recommend

Not impressed with the reservation service. Waited outside for 20 minutes for my appt only to have the person working inside tell me I shouldve gotten an email stating they had no one to help me purchase a piece of jewelry. I did not get any email, but did get a text confirming my appt. Very inconvenient.

Got my eyebrow piercing replaced and smaller. Lady who did it was very fast , efficient and friendly. I would highly recommend anyone who needs new replacement jewelry to come visit!

I came in to get a piercing re-done. I bought two pieces of jewelry for my ears and the piercer was able to punch through my previous piercing and which in turn saved me the piercing fee. - Happy Customer

Wonderful people work there. Super clean and super friendly. Got my belly and septum done here and I expirience no problems in the store or afterwards. My tattoos my Mark are also fab.

They are the place I go to for all tattoos and piercings. I got a tongue piercing in california. And I still call them with questions because they are open later and either always answer or call back when they can.

I stopped by quick with a question about a piercing and they were great. So nice and professional and helpful. I will definitely be going back again.
