Definitely the best of the best I am in shock with how good they did my first tattoo and it did not hurt at all this place is quality people with quality art at affordable prices definitely recommend this to anyone who takes tattoos seriously or just wants a little peace sighn ! RICH (my sisters and I call him Angel hands) gave us the best experience getting tattoos! Very reasonably priced, very friendly, and he even puts on a movie during the process which I thought was cool. My younger sister is a little squeamish and he was well accommodating. Super friendly, just overall a really amazing experience. I will definitely be coming back. My younger sister loved it so much she came back a couple weeks later. I HIGHLY recommend

Really good experience. Will was able to get me and my fiancee in last-minute, as walk-ins. We were only in the Portland region for a few days and wanted little tattoos to commemorate. Will did not disappoint. Very nice dude. Very funny dude. Great work. Fast and VERY light handed. I’d get tattooed by him again and as a matter of fact, next time I’m in the area I’ll be making an appointment to see him. He’s got a ton of little flash art pieces on his wall that are dope to pick from as well. I recommend the shop and I recommend Will. The other artists are just as great and everyone was friendly.

Definitely recommend this place. I’ve gotten a few tattoos here by John and they all look great and have aged even better. He just did a pet portrait for me that ended up being really sick, and was an incredibly cool way to remember my buddy. The place has a good vibe and everyone is really chill.

I came here and got a tattoo done by Rich. I’m extremely pleased with how it turned out and how much time he put into making sure each detail was perfect. I ended up leaving extremely happy with the art and the service. He took his time making sure everything was clean and sterile. I would definitely recommend him as an artist to anyone else looking to get work done.

I had a tattoo done here in 5/7 by Zack, and he did an amazing job! He is very friendly, and makes sure that the work looks its absolute best before sending you out the door. I went to him with a concept photo, asked to add on a stag, and told him to have fun with the colors. It turned out better than I could have imagined. I 100% recommend his work to everyone who asks about it, and I get complimented a ton!

I’ve been getting tattooed by John for about over a year now, have gotten more than 20+ tattoos by him. I enjoy going back to him because he takes his time and always makes sure that I’m happy with his work. Super friendly!

I will tell everyone I come across to never come here. John did my tattoo and this is the worst piece of art I’ve seen. I’m so disappointed and it’s on me forever. I kept asking him to fix the lines inside the flower and he got frustrated with me and started making them look even worse. This place is a scam, I payed $150 for this horrible tattoo.Thanks so much for doing a awful job.

Rich has done a couple tattoos for me, one a memorial portrait of my papillon dog and one of a heart, paw prints around it and a personal saying inside. I couldnt be happier. The portrait looks exactly as the picture I gave him to work from and he truly listens to what you want. Excellent work.

John was able to squeeze my sister and I in on one of the busiest days of the year for them (Friday the 13th) We got finger tattoos in remembrance of our sister who has passed. John did a great job, very thorough and clean! Thank you so Much John we love them very very much! We will definitely be back to see you.

I’m giving this place a three stars because I really want to like it. The staff is very friendly and understanding about circumstances or needing breaks. I’ve gone here for three tattoos total. The first one being my lotus flower with chains. I feel like the artwork towards the end got a little bit messy and the chains did not all connect correctly. A beautiful tattoo otherwise. The second I got was Roman numerals on my shoulder. Nothing wrong with the tattoo besides the ink fading so fast (never went to get touched up). The third one was my butterfly which is absolutely beautiful however was very expensive. My main problem is the amount of time that it took. To do the one on my shoulder and my hand it took two days. About 3 to 4 hour sessions each day. The reason it took so long was because my artist left about every 30 minutes to either go smoke or go get food. It was just kind of frustrating that a tattoo that probably could’ve been finished in two hours took 6 - 8

John does a great job. I always get compliments on my tattoos and I know when I come in that I’m leaving with a great tattoo Prices are reasonable and he’s talented. Have a visit some time!

I got a tattoo done today by Abraham and he was amazing! He listened to what I had to say and gave great advice. I definitely recommend him! Went here yesterday with my best friend and got matching tattoos!! It was her first one and we’ve been wanting these tattoos for years! I believe John was our tattoo guy. Funny and serious guy! Did an amazing job on both of our tattoos. Very professional too! Since these tattoos were small and easy we were in there less than an hour. HIGHLY recommend!

My friends and I called in and got same day tattoos (which I totally understand can be inconvenient, but I just got some stars) and the artist they both received WAS awesome, super nice, even gave them some oil to help the tattoo heal- I had a different experience. John immediately critiqued my other tattoo and said it wasn’t done deep enough, that it would fade.That’s a lot since his tattoo was too deep😂 it’s got blowout and some of the stars aren’t even filled in. I’m going to have to have this retouched and I don’t even like it. He rushed through care directions, kinda just made me feel small. It was not worth 130$. I understand charging more for a same day appointment, but you’d think they would make it a nice experience and try to get them to come back. I payed 50$ for my first tattoo (which was also a same day apt) and it is WAY BETTER. Not satisfied.

Ive been there to see John over my last 4 tattoos over the last few years. He has done such an amazing job with the designs. He works with you on creating it and will be honest with the price. I am so glad I found a very knowledgeable tattoo artist and look forward to working with him again.

Im devoted to these guys. Theyve always been very warm caring and inviting. Abraham is my main man to go to to get my tattoos done. Will not go anywhere else. And the prices are great. And if one of them is not sure if they can help you they will have 1 of the other gentleman or lady help you and get the job done.

Abraham was the best artist I’ve had, and I have a good amount of work on me. He was so thoughtful, patient and made me feel safe and taken care of. Ive gotten 7 out of my 10 tattoos done here. Most of my work has been done by John. Hes the artist Ive had except for 2 maybe 3 times. His and the other tattoo artists work are amazing and worth the money. You also get life long insurance. I got a recent tattoo touched up and it was for free :)

My best friend and I went to this awesome place on a Monday night and we had the best experience. It was my first tattoo and the artist, Abraham, was gentle and kind throughout the whole process. He made us laugh and virtually eliminated any nerves, making the whole process fun. This is a place where beautiful artwork is made and beautiful souls thrive.

I was looking for a artist in OR since I just moved here a friend told me about tattoo 42And this is now my place I have alot of tattoos I got from other states the first one was my barbain axe for dnd and I loved it so darn much I came back and John and I have built my sleeve not done yet but Ill post a pic when it is also working on putting together my other sleeve and I cant wait !! Good prices and friendly staff I have been telling all my friends to go here !

This is a hidden gem of a shop. Its in a small shopping center tucked away all unassuming but its a great shop! I got a full sleeve from Denver over the course of a little more than a month. Denver did an awesome job for me! I couldnt really be any happier with the work and would recommend the shop to anyone looking for good quality work. I loved Denvers style personally and chose him for my particular piece but there are a range of artists working that I would imagine could handle just about anything.

I called ahead AJ advised me that they do accept walk-ins (I would recommend to make an appointment in advance simply because they do get busy I got lucky a group of five failed to show up for their appointment) but when I got there she already had a stencil in mind for what I wanted and she was willing to redo it over and over again to fit what I wanted and she even would give me her advice and she knew what she was doing shes a great artist very gentle, very accommodating I would a hundred percent recommend if you want to get an awesome tattoo and even have some awesome conversation I believe her name is Ashley but she goes by AJ I will for sure be visiting them again next time Im in Oregon.

Unfortunately the experience we had with AJ was anything but enjoyable.We scheduled appointments for two small tattoos. One was a name and the other was a small bundle of lavender. When I spoke with her day of she honestly didnt remember that I had asked her to draw up the tattoos. She then informed me I will try to come up with something by the time you get here (she had even made a joke when we originally scheduled about the name tattoo).When we arrived she was rude as we walked in the door asking what we wanted. I said we have appointments for 6pm. At that she was confused saying there wasnt enough time for us to both get a tattoo because they close at 8pm. I told her they were supposed to just be two small tattoos and reminded her that is what we had scheduled for. She again made a comment about not having time, so we offered to leave. Which her response was well either way I get off at 8pm if you stay or go. As we were headed out she said she would try to do our tattoos and offered to show me what she drew.The piece she showed me was HUGE and not exactly what I asked for. So she tried coming up with something small and starts making comments about time again. She informed us there was only an hour and a half left until she closed. I told her I wasnt exaclty happy with the new drawing and wanted to change it a little bit. She was not happy and made a comment on how we only had an hour and twenty minutes left now. So my friend got their tattoo (which literally took maybe 5 minutes) and I decided against getting mine.We drove over an hour to get these tattoos and I didnt even get one.Previously we had gone to tattoo 42 and saw another artist who is no longer there. He was great and made adjustments, never commented about time, and didnt sound like he was high the whole time. The only reason behind the two stars instead of one is because of that artist. Also, I believe it was John who had called me the following day returning a voicemail I had left. He was kind and apologetic. He suggested I make an appointment with him or Rich.I am not trying to stray people away from Tattoo 42, just avoid seeing AJ.

Eh. The guy that tattooed us was most likely an apprentice still or very very new. This is something most tattoo shops tell you before hand but this one chose to hide. He was nervous heavy with his hand. This place was way overpriced. I have a lot of my body tattooed from amazing tattoo artists in magazines etc. This place comes across as a nice potential place when you walk in... then once you start talking tattoos... they haggle the price up to each other and act like adding initials is worth $40 more etc. Our tattoos are very plain Jane mediocre. They are bleeding excessively and bruised. We’ve never had these types of reactions to tattoos. He didn’t talk much and didn’t make sure tattoo color and everything was what we wanted. You have to be very vocal at least with Denver who we had, and tell him where you want it etc. He won’t suggest anything and for a simple traced out breast cancer awareness ribbon just in the end wasn’t a horrible experience but not the best. Not my best money spent. I guess our search for a new home artist in our new hometown is still on. I had arm pieces , back pieces, leg sleeves... belly tattoos etc lined up if my first time here had been better.Ps. In response to the owners comment. Why didn’t Denver have is own room then and he had to be walked through pricing what to charge and what size etc.??? That’s kind of odd for an “experienced” tattoo artist. If he’s not new to the industry then that’s sad because he was very nervous and doesn’t know how much pressure to push on the skin when he’s tattooing or wiping. Either way there’s no argument. Place is just not my cup of tea based off that experience. Might be fitting for others, but I guess I have high standards for a shop and artists. So if anyone reading this review is like me... then I hope my review helps you.

John is a great artist. Ive gotten 2 tattoos from him. In both cases, I described vaguely what I wanted and he created beautiful designs for me. He wont sell you any bull, so dont expect to be coddled. He tells it like it is, which is a valuable quality in a tattoo artist (imho). Will definitely be back for more.

I just went in to get a gift certificate for the holidays, and the gentleman at the front desk was more than accommodating. He was cordial and kept the conversation going. He listened to my request and double checked what I wanted. Even at the end of the transaction He shook my hand, not because it was the holidays, but because it was just him being genuine. Denver was awesome! Celebrated my 40th by getting a tattoo! He listened to what I wanted and he completed it really quick! Highly recommend this shop! We plan to go back later this month for my husbands tattoo and another small one for me!

Rian is the best! My sis was getting a tattoo and he made her feel so comfortable. He is very knowledgeable and makes sure you understand and follow along every step in the process. Covid policies followed strictly in the parlor. Only 1 client is allowed inside at any time and they do a temp check before entering. Highly recommend!

Prices are good and I truly think they are all talented artists. Rich helped me find something I would like to cover up a scar. But when I got my tattoo the colors were wrong and when I told the artist that he kinda threw a fit and still didnt fix it to my liking. I wanted to leave at that point because he seemed pissed. I will have to get the whole tattoo redone.

I went here a few years ago, my tattoo is raised, scarred, and blurry. I am now spending 500x more than what i spent on my little tattoo for laser tattoo removal treatments. He has too heavy of a hand and really f’d up my tattoo.

Walked in one day and met Abraham, he was able to squeeze me in for a tiny neck tat. I think he tried to be too cautious on my neck the first time around, because as it healed some of the ink had faded. Abraham, truly cares about his work and is very passionate about what he does. He went over my tattoo and made sure it stuck. He was even nice to throw in a free tiny finger tat for all the trouble (Which wasnt necessary or common from my experiences, but who can pass up a free tat?). Everyone Ive met at this shop is very friendly and informative, nothing but good vibes. Ive gotten some pretty bad tattoos in my life but these guys dont want you walking around with trash on your body. I would definitely recommend Tattoo 42 to anyone. Ill post more pictures once everything is healed :)

Walked in with a full rib piece idea. John was awesome. Walked me through getting a good idea what I was getting into. Worked with me on time and scheduling conflicts. Always made sure he left enough time on the books to never feel rushed or like I wasnt his only client. Im going back as often as I can. Strongly recommend checking this place out.

I went in with a picture to give the guy an idea of what i wanted. He drew up a design that i liked. I let him know that i was tight on the budget and asked how much it would be. He quoted me $400-$600, i let him know that was a high price for this simple 2 color half sleeve tribal but i would do it. After 2 sessions, 4 hours and $500 later. Im half done when he informs me it would take about 4 more hours and ~$400 more to finish! Are you kidding me!? Dude stop talking so much when you tat or reduce your hourly charge! What a rip off!

If youre stuck getting your sons ears pierced no matter what you want, this is the place to go. Talented, clean and knowledgeable. I couldnt ask for a better experience for a parent.They treat your kid extremely well too. Lol.

Seemed grimey, cramped, and disorganized. Receptionist refused to set up a consultation over the phone, said to just come in, theres 4 artists here right now. There were two. One was busy, the other very annoyed at being asked for a consultation and ultimately sent me away without one. Artwork seems good if the portfolios are accurate though.

John and Rich are truly legends in the area, I highly reccomend you stop by.

The owner is rude. I went in with a simple idea, he sketched it in like 2 mins. I asked if I could do a different type of font, he was extremely rude. When answering his consent form, I asked a question about the blood disorders. And Once again he was extremely rude. I wont go into detail, I know for sure I will not recommend that place to anyone. I went instead to Adorn body in Beaverton instead.

Appalling. Horrendous. With out a doubt the worst service I have ever experienced. I was ignored by every artist in the shop. They all walked past me a dozen times and would not even look at my face. I waited for over an hour after I called ahead to make sure someone was available to meet with me. Terrible. All bad.

Never have anything negative to say about Tattoo 42..Rich is awesome; you wont find lines as clean as his anywhere in Beaverton/Hillsboro area.

The shop has all around sloppy emplyes one wrecked of marijuana while tatting me, well guess what he did a horrible job and still charged me out the ass,i know you gys do tats for a living but cmon be a littler perfessional
