Joe is an amazing artist and very personal. I felt very comfortable getting tattooed by him and his family is so sweet. I got a portrait of my dad who passed away and we even won an award at the Wildwood tattoo convention for it.

Recently, my wife and I visited Philly Joe Tattoo Studio. She was looking to enhance her old butterfly tattoo, and I was looking for a cover for my old shoulder tattoo. We are not what you would call regulars. Our last tattoos were done over 15 years ago. To make this short and sweet, Joe, his wife, and the rest of their staff were friendly and welcoming. The response time is short, if not immediate.The shops location was clean and tastefully decorated. Joe is very personable, knowledgeable, and proficient in his art. We spent two full 12-hour back-to-back days working on my arm, and it shows.The detail is impeccable and immediately apparent. He cares about his work on a personal level, and it shows. I am currently scheduled to finish the lower portion of the sleeve. I would certainly recommend Joe without hesitation.

Got a new piece by (Danny) new apprentice at the shop! She did such an amazing job and she was very gentle! Her personality and comfort kept me calm during my time there! I love her lines and I’ll definitely return back for more pieces!!

From the booking process to day of my tattoo, the staff at Philly Joe Tattoo was amazing. The vibe was calm, down to earth, and friendly. Staff were joking with each other and kept the atmosphere light! I can’t safe enough about how great my experience was. Kia was amazing when it came to my design and executing. Terrible. Purchased a $150 gift certificate in January for my Fiances birthday. I didnt know till after the purchase it expired in 60 days. No refunds. My fiance wound up getting hurt at work and was in the hospital for a few weeks. We asked if we could have extension on the 60 day expiration date and they would not allow it. Lost $150 on this. Will never go here and will never send anyone here after that.

Joe was incredibly professional and did an amazing job on my half sleeve. The entire shop was welcoming and I instantly felt at ease inside. If you’re looking for someone that takes immense pride in their work and won’t stop working on the tattoo until they are completely satisfied with their work, then Joe is the guy for you.

I had a tattoo done by the excellent Kia! She was so calm, informative and made my session so relaxed. She was also patient with me when I didn’t have change and had to leave to get some. I found my tattoo place! Clean, minimal and spacious atmosphere. 💗

Started my arm sleeve with Joe this past week and loved my experience so far. Joe was very understanding after I was late arriving to my appointment because of car troubles and was ready to work as soon as I arrived. He takes his time creating your project and is very open to any changes you’d have in mind. Joe’s shop environment was one of my favorite parts. He and his staff are very welcoming/personable and they work as a team to make sure you’re getting the best possible outcome for your project. I’ve been to quite a few shops to get work done and Joe’s is definitely my favorite. Excited to see the end result of my project.

Kia was great ,she was very friendly and was very good at communicating about what I wanted !!

The level of professionalism at this place is beyond perfect. Johnny was my tattoo artist and did an amazing masterpiece. Very informative during the process and even after the tattoo was done, i was able to ask questions and get help. Keep up the great work!!!

I went for my first tattoo, at age 70 to celebrate 9 years cancer free. I brought in a photo, Kia did a sketch and I liked it better than the original photo. I highly recommend going to Philly Joes for your next tattoo. Their apprentice, Otari, recently did a tattoo on me under the supervision of Joe. He did an excellent job and took pride in his work. Joe runs a good business and has a very welcoming environment with more than capable artists to help you with whatever you are looking for. Just got a tattoo with PhillyJoeTattooStudio and Ilove the outcome. I initially started getting quotes for a spine tattoo in my area. Stumbled across these good people and let me tell you. 10/10 experience. Aside from the tattoo itself the studio was clean, nicely decorated, and in a very nice area. Kia was super cool with me and any questions i had leading to the appointment she would promptly answer. The design Kia created looks 100x better than what i found on the internet and Kia KILLED IT. I got tattooed by joe yesterday and the day before and from the moment i walked in i felt welcomed and comfortable. The tattoo that was done was absolutely astonishing. My experience at PhillyJoeTattooStudio is beyond great. I booked with Joe for a full back tattoo. He is not only friendly but makes you feel comfortable. He was respectful when I needed breaks due to the fact a back tattoo is beyond painful. What I wanted for a tattoo versus what Joe drew up for me cannot compare. I just got two beautiful tattoos done here today with Brittany. She is super fast, pays attention to detail and super friendly and professional. I showed her a picture of what I wanted and she came back with a drawing that was 10 times better than what I even showed her. The owner Joe was so nice and was offering waters to everybody. My Wife and I arrived for our 4pm appointment and the staff was quick to serve us. We didn’t ask about pricing as we were getting matching dog tag tattoos before my deployment. The artists were clean and professional. Hands on owner is a great aspect. After we were finished the owner billed us out himself to ensure we were satisfied. He asked “were you given a price?” To which I said no. When he gave us the price I was shocked, I was expecting it to be expensive but it was far more reasonable than I had planned on so A++ on all aspects. Service, Knowledge, Management and pricing! Keep up the great work and we will be back!

If I can give more stars I definitely would. I had my tattoo done during the tattoo convention in philly and I get so many compliments on it. The Artist (Ruban) designed and his detailing were perfectly done. This shop treats you so kindly, it’s like you’ve known them forever. I highly recommend this shop to get all your tattoo or piercing done! You will not be disappointed.

Got my first tattoo today. It was the best experience. Covered my birthmark did not even hurt. Also All the employees were a pleasure and very informative made me less nervous would highly recommend coming here. Wish I done this sooner

If anyone was uncertain about where to go to get original artwork this is the place to be. Everyone is so nice and very professional. I attended the convention in Baltimore and had a blast. Everyone was super professional! I had randy and he definitely brought my tattoo to life. I even entered the contest 🤣. Which is something that I wouldnt normally do.(very bad anxiety) I will definitely use their services again and hopefully I will see yall in Baltimore again at the next convention!

Joes art speaks for itself, it is impeccable. His ability to synthesize a story, absorb it, and turn it into a piece of art... he drafted up a design that did a better job of symbolizing what I wanted than I ever could have doing it myself. The attention to detail is unreal, I’ve got a piece of fine art on my body now. Tattoo artists of his caliber have a tendency to treat clients poorly because they can get away with it, because the art is all people want but Joe is a down to earth humble guy who truly appreciates and cares about the people who come into his shop to get a tattoo from him. An awesome guy and an amazing artist

THE OWNER JUST WALKED AROUND OUTSIDE AND DID NOTHING TO HELP ANYONE EXCEPT FOR TO CASH THEM OUT.WAITED 2 HOURS AND LEFT.RAN INTO THE OWNER AT THE DOOR TOLD HIM WHAT I WANT TO GET DONE WHICH COMES OUT TO BE 6 TATTOOS AND A COVER UP WHICH HE SAID WOULD BE IMPOSSIBLE TO COVER....NOT GOING BACK AT ALL.
