Martha handles the business with integrity and professionalism. I told my story and brought some samples. Ed made the sleeve in my mind come to life with additional artistic compliments I would not have thought of. Just received a text from Martha. She was checking in to see if all is well as I had a tattoo done a few days ago. My own doctor doesnt call me ever. This is the care and attention that I didnt expect from a tattoo artist. To begin with, Brass Knuckles is a clean and sanitary place. You have to take off your street shoes and wear clean shoes in the studio. Taino will show you every needle that he is going to use. They will all be factory sealed and he will go over each expiration date. He changes his gloves frequently. There are no crowds of people coming in off the street like in many multi artist studios. You book a session, and you have Tainos undivided attention.Im 60 plus in age and he took a fair amount of time prior to the doing the tattoo to go over art, fonts, placements and expectations. The final product exceeded my expectations. I was looking to do some color but when I saw the B&W I thought that I would stop there. Taino told me to come back (no charge for another session) and then decide if I wanted to proceed with the color. He said that would not be a problem if I decided to do color or not.Taking into account the cleanliness, customer service, patience, the final product and that I was treated like family I will whole heartedly recommend Taino and Martha (Brass Knuckle Tattoos) for any tattoo work you need done.

This was the best tattoo studio I have ever been too, seriously. Walking into the studio, it was a very comfortable feeling and both Taino and Martha make it their mission to ensure that your tattoo is exactly what you want. My family has been getting tattoos with them for years so I couldn’t pass at the opportunity to experience them for myself. My expectations for my tattoo were definitely exceeded. The original reference image I showed was plain and simple but Taino took that and made it something really full and beautiful. These are true artists and if you want someone who cares about their clients while still meeting your expectations of an amazing tattoo, then this is the place to go.

Our experience here was phenomenal. We went in for a portrait of my husbands dad who passed away recently. The tattoo artist worked extra hard making this sketch perfect because we expressed how important this tattoo means to my husband. The tattoo portrait is the exact replica of the photo we sent the artist((AMAZING)).Thats just showed us that the artist is extremely talented. Words cant express how happy we are. I adore this place. The couple that owns the shop are truly amazing and honest. I went in wanting 3 tattoos and one of them on my neck, and the tattoo artist saw that I was young (22) and understood the stigma that tattoos have when finding a career and encouraged me not to do so and even said he could recommend me to someone else but he didn’t feel comfortable doing that. Ofc they care about their business’s income, but they care about their clients and their art more than the money. They made me feel safe by showing me all the expiration labels on the ink and needles that he was going to use on me and made me feel comfortable especially because it was my first tattoo. They are my tattoo artists forever now and i recommend EVERYONE to meet them and support their business!!! You seriously will love their positive energy and aura just as much as I did ❤️

Had my first tattoo done at Brass Knuckles Ink. My experience their was very welcoming the atmosphere is wonderful and the place is soo clean. Spoken to the artist first and they explain to you everything before you make your appointment which is very helpful to those that dont understand before you enter a tattoo place and getting one. I just finished my first arm tattoo here and let me tell you the experience was amazing. I initially was supposed to get my tattoo 2 weeks prior and while there I was making conversation and had told my artist that I had just gotten the vaccine the day before. He quickly stopped and explained that for my safety he didn’t feel comfortable tattooing me because he didn’t know how my body would react and felt that it wasn’t responsible of him to reschedule. It was completely understandable and the day finally came 2 weeks later and he blessed a beautiful tat on my forearm and treated me with great hospitality. I recommend this place 1000% the work is amazing and I’m grateful for everything.

This is a great place, from beginning to the end of my session, I was made to feel very comfortable and the entire process was explained in detail and not interrupted by walkins or phone calls. Never once did I feel uncomfortable. Martha is very thorough and super friendly. Ed is professional and patient. The vibe in this tattoo studio is soothing and has a home style feel. I recently received a couple of tattoos from this studio and I was very satisfied by my experience. Although they are appointment only, the receptionist is very involved from the beginning. The free consultation that you get when you make the appointment to ensure that what you want is possible is very assuring, and also saves the time during the day of getting the tattoo.My experience the day of was very professional and all of the staff was very friendly and made sure I was comfortable. The tattoo artist made sure their station was clean and held up to standards and had no problems making sure I noticed that everything was up to par. The artist was very cooperative with what I had wanted but was kind enough to make suggestions in my best interest as well. All in all, it was a great experience with minimal discomfort. My only gripe is that the prices are on the higher end, but it is definitely worth it for great service and amazing tattoos, would definitely come back again.

A truly great experience. Ed Taino was amazing, a professional through and through. Made me feel comfortable like if I was in my own home. Very down to earth, went through everything step by step until I was satisfied with what I wanted and made it happen. The hours flew by cause it felt like I was hanging out with a friend that just so happens to be a tattoo artist lol. I got the tattoo that I exactly wanted and would definitely go back for additional work. His wife Martha was also very professional and friendly and made sure the transaction was handled correctly with confirmation texts and emails and the occasional check up on how my arm was doing in between sessions (took 2 sessions to complete). This tattoo shop is clean, great decor, the spot is spacious and lit up with natural light shining through, not dark and dingy like some old school basement tattoo shop. The staff is friendly, talented, and so professional! The tattoo artists there are very talented, detailed, and each brings their own unique style to the table. Absolutely amazing! I love the business and they have earned themselves two loyal customers! This is the best place to get your first tattoo! I have been to other shops and this is definitely on the top. They take the time to go through the process with you. They show you the expiration date for needles and the ink. It’s for individual use so you know that the needles haven’t been used on others. It’s clean and friendly. They constantly wash their hands and disinfect their hands. They have two air purifiers within the space. They genuinely care about you here. They also offer candy and water here to help you if you get light headed from getting tattoo or just to enjoy! I cannot explain how way above my expectations this experience turned out to be! So first of all, this was my first real tattoo. I was pretty nervous about the process and Martha was so patient and communicative. It made the process void if any stress. She also talked me through all their safety and sanitation protocols, made sure I had enough water and candies. The studio was clean and welcoming, had some soft music on, just a wonderful experience. And I havent even gotten started on my tattoo artist, Carlos. So for my first tattoo I really wanted to invest in a work of art, and boy did this not disappoint! Look not only at Carlos tattoo Instagram but also his general art Instagram. The guy is AMAZING! I wouldnt be surprised if hes the best tattoo artist in the Bronx right now. The discussion around the design commission was so welcoming and collaborative. Hes INSANELY talented but had such humility. I sent him what I was thinking, he sent me his initial concept, which wasnt what I envisioned but somehow so much better. That was how I saw the incredible artist come out. I was nervous Id feel pressure on the day of to just get going. But he, as well as Martha and Ed in the studio, we SO generous with their time, making sure the size and placement and everything was exactly how Id want it. They instilled such trust that I eventually was just like, you know what? I trust you so much. Go for it. And honestly there isnt someone I would have wanted more to spend 5.5 hours with while getting a needle repeatedly put into my skin. Hes incredible kinda and I wasnt expecting how little pain Id have. I actually was so tired I took a nap during the first 45 minutes! I had a little pain in the last 45 minutes but barely. And it looked INCREDIBLE the second it was done. I saw friends the next day and they were 1. Shocked at how stunning the detailed shading was 2. Shocked at how gorgeous it was 3. Shocked that it already looked healed. I honestly cant imagine a better experience. It is impossible to express how insanely talented Carlos is! And also, somehow they hit the price point perfectly. Like, it felt like a lot at first, but then I realized I just commissioned a legitimate work of art to be permanently on my body. And the location couldnt have been more convenient, literally a block from Yankee Stadium. I seriously couldnt be happier with my first professional tattoo and my first experience in a tattoo studio. The staff here are incredibly talented and professional! Came in for a matching tattoo with my mom and was not disappointed! I was nervous since this was my first tattoo but the tattoo artist was very gentle and made small talk to distract from the pain. Definitely plan on getting more here in the future!

I am very pleased with my whole experience. Ed is one of the nicest people I’ve ever met and makes sure you have an extremely comfortable experience. He also did my tattoo very well. The whole shop had a nice feel with nicer people. 10/10 would be tattooed here again.

I received a cover up from Brass Knuckles Ink and I couldn’t be more happier! Let me start by saying Martha and Ed’s demeanor, their hospitality and overall persona was truly amazing and welcoming. Ed sat down with me discussed three tats that I liked and formed a vision through each tatt that came out amazing combined. During the session I was showed each needle prior to them being opened and shown the expiration date in which I truly appreciated. Ed changed his gloves numerous times and used sanitizer to make sure make everything stayed nice and clean :). My tattoo came out amazing and there was TLC to it in which I truly appreciated!!! Ed and Martha thank you so much!! I will be back soon!! Ps aftercare details were fully explained and a after kit offered!!

What can I say other than Brass Knuckles did an amazing job on my tattoos. I came to Ed to get some scars covered up on my torso. They were very patient and even though I was crazy enough to get a colored tattoo over scars Ed’s expertise was able to get the job done. Although the process was painful, the ointment they use did help take the edge off a little bit. The colors on my tattoos are bright and I didn’t lose any ink in the healing process which has happened to me when I’ve had other color tattoos done by other shops. So, If you have a difficult tattoo that you’re planning and you want a safe comfortable place to get it done then run don’t walk to Brass Knuckles Ink, this is the place to go!

I want to start off by saying that I am just OVER THE MOON with my tattoo! I’m in love.. This is my 5th tattoo and my best experience. Getting started with my appt with Martha was great. Her patience is beyond commendable. She is very pleasant, professional, and she responds back to you very fast. I was super impressed with the shop. It is SUPER clean. They are extremely Covid aware providing the latest technology in air filtration. My technician was MARTIN. He was SUPERB. Extremely detailed. He explained everything to me. They are OCD. They show you your new needles, ink exp dates, and he was constantly sanitizing. I had my entire leg done and it was not a painful ordeal. The equipment set up made me feel like I was on a reality tattoo show. They are very friendly and always checking on you and paying attention to you. The aftercare you receive is great. I could go on and on but I’ll end it by saying you get what you pay for and if you like the best quality your money can buy then you have to give them a try.

Since my last tattoo, which was 20 years ago. This was my very first tattoo. I thought about it many times but always declined because I wasn’t sure of what image I could use that would tell MY story and always be relevant in the current time and place, no matter when I looked at it. I decided at almost 70 years old (69.3) I had enough experiences in my life to share but I wasn’t sure of what image I could use to capture my past and present existence and who could turn that image into something I could live with and be proud of for the rest of my lifetime. I got my answer in a single consultation/conversation with Martha at Brass Knuckles Ink. She asked for a little history and significant milestones in my life, then suggested a theme that actually gave me goosebumps. She came up with it so quick and I knew that was something I wanted to live with. Once I got to the studio, I was further convinced I had made the right choice. Tattoo artist Ed welcomed me into a clean and serene space and created the perfect picture. Very happy with the results. Even though my friends think it was a little pricey, I am totally happy with the whole experience. I could live another 70 years with it.

Best place to be is at Brass knuckles. Indio and Martha is great. There are also great artist Named Derek that are really nice too. I had the privilege to meet Indio though my twin brother and he was spot on . I had a tattooed I really was liked it was awful but they should call Indio the magic man . He gave my arm life and now I have 1 more session on my arm then my back tattoo will start and I am super excited on the next project. As a first timer when it comes to getting tattoos I didnt know what to expect but the staff here is extremely friendly and guide you throughout the whole process including the aftercare, not to mention the fact they show you the expiration dates of each needle used and youre notified that the artist washed their hands before the session starts.

The tattoos are overall pretty decent and decent prices but Taino’s partner who is also the receptionist is very nosy and has an issue with him doing tattoos on certain areas on other women Which is ridiculous because he is a tattoo artist.

Turned out great, place was clean, people were cool were there to see if I was hurting or if I needed anything. Was shown the protocol of letting the tattoo heal by both the artist and the front lady
