I absolutely love coming to see Sheila, as a type one diabetic I have to be careful and she has a gentle hand and My tattoos heal beautifully. Shes lovely! I also have one tattoo by Jake and cant wait to get more mermaid scales added to it someday!

Met Crystal for the first time on Saturday. What a rock star. She was amazing. Had exactly what I wanted for my tattoo in mind and was ready to roll. Thank goodness for her because I was over waiting to get it done. Love my new ink and I made a new friend for life!

Myself and five friends called at around 7 to see if they could get us all in for tattoos. Mind you they closed at 10 and were aware that we lived about an hour away. I personally had Trevor and he did and AMAZING job. Not just on mine but 2 friends as well. Even stayed past close to get us all in. Would definitely recommend!

My first experience here when I got my tattoo was great. However, after a couple years I decided to schedule an appointment for a touch-up. I called the studio to schedule an appointment and was told I had to message Jake on Facebook - not the business page - but his personal profile. I heard the person over the phone literally ask Jake directly if I could schedule an appointment while on the phone or message the business page (as I did the first time) and I heard him say, no, she has to message my personal page. Thats super professional making your clients jump through a bunch of hoops to even schedule an appointment. I messaged him directly and after several messages back and forth and one or two days of not even hearing anything back after the conversation was already started, we finally scheduled an appointment. Then, when I showed up to the appointment (confirmed at 10:00 a.m. on a Saturday) he never showed up. We waited an hour and a half in the parking lot and no one was even there. The studio is supposed to open at 11:00 a.m., so I thought maybe he accidentally typed 10:00 a.m. when he actually meant 11, but by 11:30 a.m. there was still no one at the studio. Extremely unprofessional and embarrassing. I messaged him day of to check in and he never responded. He has since seen my message and didnt even have the professional decency to respond. One of the most unprofessional businesses Ive ever interacted with. Save yourself time and money and just go somewhere else where the people are professional and actually respect their clients.

Absolutely LOVED Trevors work, pretty much ANYONE I asked about getting my first tattoo said to go to this guy, and boy were they right!! 100/10!

I love all the staff at Darkside. If you want a quality tattoo or piercing, I highly recommend Jake and the rest of the staff.

My daughter just recently turned 11 and wanted to get her cartilage pierced. I have literally called 25+ tattoo parlors in the past few days asking what the age requirements are. It is absolutely baffling the different responses I got. Ive been told 12 years, 14 years, 16 years, no age requirement and finally that it just depends on the parlors preferences. I even had one parlor suggest to me to drive to Indiana to get it done and another suggested doing it myself. Out of all the places I called Trevor from Dark Side Studios Tattoo Parlor is the ONLY one who not only ACCURATELY informed me about the Michigan state law age requirements for body art but also went above and beyond to explain to me the risks you take when trying to do piercings yourself (with store bought piercing guns and etc...). Thank you very much for actually caring about the clients and not just the business. I would highly recommend Dark Side Studios Tattoo Parlor to anyone.
