Honestly the best place ever. It is so clean inside, so well decorated. I love love love seeing Amanda. The other artist are always so pleasant and friendly whenever Im there. Five star all around for everything! Such a talented group.

I’ve been coming to Amanda for my tattoos for ten years now and will keep coming back! She does great work and is so helpful with design, color, and vision. The atmosphere in this shop is friendly, fun, welcoming, clean, modern, and artsy. All the artists are friendly and casual in the best way, and I always look forward to my appointments!

I went in and got tattooed by Jenna! She was professional from the start and the shop was very clean. Chris and Amanda were around and were super friendly, they made sure to compliment my tattoo! Jenna showed me the design she had drawn up for me and was super flexible on the things I wanted added to my tattoo. They all make you feel so welcome the second you walk in their shop too! We all know how nerve wracking walking into unknown territory can be but not at this shop. I recommend anyone that’s looking to get tattooed to stop by and check out all their work, they’re all amazing. 10/10!

The atmosphere in the shop is amazing, feels open and friendly as soon as you walk through the door! My artist was Amanda, She makes you feel calm, how to figure out exact placement, gives great suggestions and her work and efficiency is incredible. The other tattoo artist Jenna was also very sweet, just all around great vibes! Will definitely be back!!

Chris is awesome. Explained everything from start to finish. We talked ahead of time about what I was looking for and provided several options sizes, etc. Definitely recommend!

Absolutely love this tattoo shop! I see Jenna for all my work and I love what she does. I get compliments on my tattoos all the time! The shop is cute and comfortable, they follow excellent safety protocols for sanitizing and cleaning (both standard tattoo safety and covid safety). All of the artists are very welcoming and they do wonderful work! My only complaint is how popular the artists are, it makes it hard to get booked :)

Prairie State is just amazing! Its not your average shop. I love the feel of the place, its light and modern and everyone is super friendly! I found Jenna on Instagram and loved one of her original pieces. I messaged her and put down a deposit. Jenna is absolutely wonderful! She made me feel so comfortable and really cared about me. I have been to her twice now with two other appointments coming up! She is working on my lower arm half of a sleeve. I trust her with all my designs, she just gets me and what I am looking for. I always look forward to getting work done by her! Professional, friendly, clean and overall the best!

I have been to Prarie State multiple times to get beautiful work done by Jenna! She never fails to amaze me whether it’s an idea of my own or a surprise by her. I am always open to allowing Jenna to design my tattoos and choose the location on my body where we are going to place the work. I would trust her with anything! Recently, Gina did my eyebrows and was absolutely amazing as well. She was super professional, gave aftercare supplies and took great care of me. The atmosphere in the shop is one you won’t find anywhere else. Every one of these artists genuinely care about their clients and put every ounce of effort into both their work and maintaining a clean and organized shop. Love these guys and wouldn’t go anywhere else!

I have followed Jenna once again to Prairie State Tattoo Company! The shop, the artists, the tattoos are incredible and if youre looking to get new ink this is the place to go. With a level of comfort and space that is unmatched, youd be hard pressed to find a more welcoming space to go for your first or even your 13th tattoo.Ive collected all of my tattoos from Jenna since the start of her career and her skill and style have only solidified my love of being tattooed. Shes so creative and I trust her to always come up with brilliant art that Im happy to add to my collection.5 stars of course! Cant wait to come back :)

I have been to three shops with Jenna now and her work is impeccable and clean. She is amazing at taking your concept and turning it into something beautiful and badass! She fosters trust and is adaptable- so much so I let her surprise me with my last piece. She’s really taken off over the last 4 years I’ve been seeing her, and it’s no surprise as she’s v talented. I have been spreading the gospel of Jenna for many years and will continue to do so 🥰I have also had the pleasure of being tattooed by Amanda! She did a custom Jungle Bettie Page piece and the quantity of detail and dimension in the leopard print dress is INSANE. Her work is delicate and she’s all around delightful. I am excited for the work we have planned for 2022!

I had such an amazing experience with Amanda. The shop is clean and welcoming and a great atmosphere. Amanda was kind and calm and so accommodating, she made the process so easy and comfortable, and her artwork is gorgeous. I would highly recommend this shop and will definitely be back!

Amanda, Jenna, and Chris are such amazing artists, as well as people. Amanda has been tattooing me for years now and I dont think I could ever go to another person again. They all care so much about their work and their business. Theyre all always friendly and just so wonderful.Amanda knows how to deal with me and my anxiety. She always makes sure Im comfortable and takes breaks to make sure Im doing good. If theyre not working, they all come around and talk with you too.

I was a client of Jenna’s at her old shop and followed her to Prairie State Tattoo. So far she has done a large piece on my thigh, a coverup on my shoulder and we’ve almost completed my full sleeve. She is super professional, super sweet, and always draws up exactly what I had in mind. Her color work is flawless and I’ve gotten so many compliments on her work. If you’re looking for American traditional or full color, go see her! The other artists are great too and their group dynamic makes for a super comfortable and welcoming atmosphere. Ive gotten a lot of tattoos from other places but this is my forever shop.

This shop was so worth my 2 hour drive! Clean, timeless tattoos and a very personable staff are sure to make your tattoo experience great. The shop has great parking, is very clean and full of natural light and has very welcoming vibes-would recommend. I was lucky enough to grab a flash piece from Jenna and already booked my next one.

Jenna and amanda are amazing artists and even better human beings. Ignoring the fact that I work there alongside with them, i just wanted to write a pure, honest review solely on them. I just can’t say enough good things about them two. I have been friends with them for years, they are 100% professional, always have great work ethic and take the time to listen and work with the clients to give them a product they’ll love. Never once have I seen a bad interaction between them and a client. They have over the top cleanliness & don’t mess around when getting things done. They truly don’t make people like you two anymore. It’s an honor to be able to grow as friends and work next to them.

Prairie state tattoo is a wonderful addition to Carpentersville. Chris is my tattoo artist and each time I’ve seen him I’ve had a great experience. He’s friendly, professional, and does amazing work with attention to detail. The shop itself is very spacious with a calming atmosphere and very clean. I definitely recommend them if you’re looking for a great tattoo experience!

Jenna is amazing at what she does. Sometimes you need your tattoo artist to talk you out of your idea so that you can find your way to the ideal result and that’s exactly what she did for me. Her expertise created something better than I was expecting and I am looking forward to going back.

Decided to stop by this place to check out their portfolio, Walked in stood around no one came up to me. The lady that works there just looked at me and ignored me completely. Asked for their portfolio to look at their artists work and I was completely ignored. Definitely will not be returning and will let people know how unpleasant the service was.
