Worked on my entire sleeve with Alex, and hes done phenomenal work. It was my first tattoo, and Alex always made sure youre comfortable with the ideas he has for you.Alex is very efficient with his time, and he has been more than helpful when it came to working around my busy work schedule.Ive gotten compliments nonstop about my sleeve. I’ve been going to Alex for about four years now for my traditional patchwork sleeves. His work is truly remarkable and unique to his artistic style. My tattoos are very much my own and not styles you will find anywhere else. I am so grateful to hold the client-artist relationship we have for so many years and to absolutely love every piece on my arms. I get more compliments on my tattoos than anything else and am frequently stopped by people who want to inquire who did them. Castle rock tattoo and laser is a wonderful spot to go for tattooing. It’s very clean and friendly, with easy parking and anything you’d need while there (like snacks and coffee etc) I look forward to my appointments and have never left disappointed. I very highly recommend reaching out to Alex for any design you’re interested in. I have a few other tattoos by him that aren’t quite traditional and those too turned out extraordinary. I personally prefer traditional but he is extremely versatile in his skill sets and can do just about anything you ask.

Before I met Alex Meekin, I had been to a bunch of tattoo shops and no one means business like this dude. He is true artist and if you have an idea, he runs with it and never disappoints. Currently having him do my left arm sleeve and I honestly wouldnt want anyone else to tattoo me. Solid dude, quality work.

Alex did an amazing job, easily one of my best shaded tattoos, and is able to do quality work at a fast pace. Very personable and it is apparent he puts a lot of effort into his craft. Several years ago, I had my daughter’s ears pierced here and had a fantastic experience, so I decided to return for some of my own piercings. Jay did my ears and nose and they look amazing! The shop is extremely clean, comfortable, and everyone here has been inviting each time I’ve come! It’s a hidden gem in castle rock.

Jay Newskool is phenomenal! He did a beautiful tribute piece in memory of my Mom with her ashes in the ink. He took such care in creating something to honor her properly as if it was being done for his own. I couldnt be happier!

Absolutely phenomenal tattoo experience! My artist, Alaska, did an incredible job of transferring a very personal and meaningful sketch, that my oldest daughter created, onto my forearm. At my request, he also added his expert artistic interpretation and skill to create a piece that far exceeded my expectations. I highly recommend allowing the tattoo artist the freedom to put their personal touch on any tattoo idea - they know what will look great on skin! The entire staff is very welcoming and clearly love what they do. The books and scrolling screen images of their work blew me away. And I can’t say enough positive things about Brandy - such an engaging young woman that makes you feel like family and ensures everything is taken care of. I went to Castle Rock Tattoo & Laser Removal for the first time a year ago. I was looking for a fine-line tattoo and saw Jake’s work. Jake designed and tattooed a 1/2 sleeve on my forearm. Now, a year later, we are doing a second piece on my ribs (currently 1 session done, 1 to go).Together, both pieces would probably put me at 10+ hours being tattooed and 15+ hours total with Jake (including the design process). My experience has been nothing but great!From my experience, Jake always puts professionalism and being a gentleman at the forefront of all he does. And his design/tattoo work is phenomenal. I’ve lived in other states and have had tattoos from other artists, but Jake beats them all.

I couldnt be more pleased with my work done by Ryan Cactus Jack. I came in with a simple design and he put his creative mind to work. His knowledge about traditional work crossed over in the this tattoo. Besides his amazing artwork, his customer service is excellent. I’ll start with this, I never do online reviews, but I felt this one was absolutely necessary.Jake did an AMAZING job on my tattoo! I normally am not a “small talk” person, but he was so easy to talk to that I felt like I was talking to an old friend. He was very professional and asked for my input on the design. The only negative I could say is that his work makes my other tattoo look like it was done by an amateur 😆 My husband and I are now fighting over who gets to go first for our next tattoo. I’ll be back soon!

I love this place, honestly. Everyone is super friendly. I was super nervous for my first big tattoo and Alex reassured me. He made sure I was getting exactly what I wanted and gave me breaks when I felt I needed them. He does his best to minimize pain, while still creating beautiful pieces of art. Their apprentice, TJ, (Ive gotten two tattoos from him) has been amazing. Hes dedicated to learning and is learning fast. Hes a bit heavier handed, since hes learning, but his work looks great! I highly recommend this place!

I had 3 tattoos done here in one session. The girl who did them went way too deep and now I am stuck with a scarred mess. I should’ve known it wasn’t going to be good when she said “everyone’s challenging me with circles” or something along those lines when doing a moon tattoo on my wrist. It’s completely scarred and raised. The lines that aren’t scarred into my skin fell out. Any of the details of the tattoo is lost and I’m extremely upset considering how it’s on my wrist which is a very visible part of my body. The lines are all different thicknesses and very very shaky. I tried to call to speak to the owner, but of course the only one there was the girl who did my tattoo when I called. The only thing she really had to say was “I’m sorry” and “I also have some botched tattoos so I understand”, why on earth would you be so nonchalant about butchering something that’s on someones body forever. She offered to fix it, but obviously I will not be going back. Please do not go here unless you want to have to pay for a coverup.

Got tattooed by Brian today and it looks AWESOME. He was super professional, talked through the his art with me first, and did an amazing job. (He even let me pick the music). I received compliments on it minutes after leaving the shop. Another artist, Alex, also hung out with us for awhile which was really cool. A very welcoming, clean shop; would highly recommend.

Recently we started traveling and I wanted to get a traveling tattoo on our family vacation. Plans kept changing as this being our first time in Colorado we were walking into ski traffic blind so timing never worked out to get to the tattoo shop. I found this place online. The site states appointment ONLY Saturday and Sunday. Well the day was Monday so walk ins were welcomed. We arrived and waited for it to open. Again, a sign outside of the building stating “walk-ins welcome”. Went inside, first people there, have a brief idea and stated how long we had before our flight so that timing and size and type of tattoo could be quickly decided, and he states he is full until after 3 pm with appointments, which didn’t work because that’s was my flight time. Then explains that he’s booked up for the month.My rating comes from false advertisement. I get it’s my fault for waiting til the last minute to get it, trust me not my choice. But I wasted time waiting for this “walk in welcome” shop to open instead of doing something else. It’s not a walk in welcome shop….if he thinks it is then hours of walking welcome should be stated. For instance, do appointments until 3pm and walk-ins from 3-9pm….but actually be available for walk ins! From the sounds of it there are two people working here and they don’t have time for walk ins. Which cool but advertise properly so you don’t ruin another Karen’s day.

The ONLY reason Im giving Alex Meekin from Castle Rock Tattoo five stars is because I cant give him six! I sat with Alex for an 8 hour session recently, kicking off an extensive piece that will be built out over time, and now I dont want anyone else BUT Alex working on it. From consult to healing, Alex was nothing short of an artist and a true professional. He takes his work VERY seriously, offers some tough yet much needed design advice, and makes every piece portfolio-worthy. The shop itself is great, clean, and the staff friendly...but I simply cant recommend Alex enough.

Alaska did my first *real* tattoo. I told him to do whatever he thought would look cool after showing him an idea, and he came back with a way cooler design. It turned out beautiful. I had a great experience & I am definitely coming back for more!!

Do not use this shop. *Unsafe for women* I was belligerently verbally attacked by my artist (unprovoked) while I was alone at the shop with him, and the owners do not care. They didn’t want to hear what happened or make it right. They offered to have someone else finish my tattoo for full price after I had already paid full price for 3 sessions & didn’t have the ink to prove it. Rude staff, wasted my time & my money.

This is HANDS DOWN the best tattoo shop that I have ever been to! The shop is welcoming, and inviting, instead of being creepy, and intimidating, like some shops. I have (personally) used their tattoo, and laser, services and HIGHLY recommend both. Ryan is an amazing, and talented, (beyond talented) tattoo artist, and Jorie is a great laser tech! 10 STARS.

BE AWARE...They will tell you they can tattoo a design, take your money and then on the day of your appointment you find out they cant do the design. Very disappointed. My daughter and I took a picture of a tattoo that we wanted into the shop. They very clearly said Yes, we can do that We proceeded to put down our retainer that was very clearly communicated to us that if we missed our appointment, we would forfeit the money. We showed up for our appointment on time and had every intention to have the tattoo done. Alex said sit down here and pick a font...WHAT. I very clearly gave him a picture of exactly what we wanted. I expected him to at least go try and draw it up to get close to what we wanted. Isnt what what a tattoo artist does? Long story very short, Alex was not able/or willing to tattoo the design we took him, AND HE ALSO KEPT OUR RETAINER. I was hoping that they would do the right thing and refund our deposit, but his email was very clear that was not an option.

I’m sorry but this looks like something a kindergartner could do. You know how you want a tattoo… and then you want people to say…”ohhh cool tattoo”. This is an embarrassing tattoo. Yes, I cried when I left. There is not a single artistic thing about this. You didn’t even ask the significance. I did all my homework before I arrived. Paper cut outs for size. 20 pics.Yes I showed them many many photos. I don’t think the owner truly cared after talking to him what I needed. He could have cared less how I left with it.Not very good advertising if you want people to see your work.

Jeffery lester is a fantastic artist. He has down two pieces for me and I couldnt be happier. His attention to detail is outstanding. He will make sure to understand what you want and will be sure you leave happy. All around great artist. I would recommend from black a grey to full color.

I flew in from Washington state to have floral work done on my arm. Ryan is patient, incredibly talented, detail oriented, and keeps a clean workplace. My experience was well worth the cost of the flight and I will be returning. Highly recommended.

You know how you can imagine something you want, see it in your mind, and if youre not an artist it can be difficult to present that to someone else to create for you? Well, Jana took my *very* rough ideas and came up with EXACTLY what I wanted, but even better. My tattoo turned out so perfect I cant believe it. Ive got several others so I know to steel myself for the inevitable slight disappointment in the final result - this is better than what I expected and I cant stop looking at it.She gave her artistic input but in the end deferred to me without making me feel pressured to do or like anything. She kept me in the loop during the entire drawing process and just made the experience a really good/ cooperative one. Plus she was super cool and it was a great time. I will for sure be going back for more work soon. Five stars all the way around.

Cleanest shop that Ive ever visited. Fantastic artists! Made me feel welcome and worked with me to find a great solution for covering up a piece that had been done badly (to say the least) at another studio in town. Id hated my ink for 2 years. I loved having the option of removing or working it over. We opted to work it over and the results are amazing. Gaddiel Yabuco is new to Colorado, but has been tattooing for over 10 years. I felt very honored to be his first repeat client here in Castle Rock. His vision and talent are spectacular. Gentle hand and easy going spirit! I will be back!! :)

Top notch place just got my very first tattoo there today. Was nervous but excited and Brian Billmaier was as good as they come. Talked me through the process and was explained what everything was. I dont know if anymore tattoos are in my future but if I do get more I will for sure be going back to Brian.
