Salt & Light Tattoo

I have gotten all but one of my tattoos from Salt & Light and have had an exceptional experience every time. Joel Parker, the artist I worked with most recently, demonstrated meticulous attention to detail and a thorough approach to his craft. His precision and artistry were evident in every line and shade. I plan on only going back to Joel for any future work. The shop itself was impeccably clean, reflecting a high standard of hygiene and professionalism. The entire staff was incredibly friendly, creating a welcoming atmosphere that made the session enjoyable. I highly recommend this shop for anyone seeking a top-notch tattoo experience.

They helped me remove my nose ring when I was really struggling to get it out. Called in advance and they were able to see me right away! Shop is very clean and staff is very friendly. I will definitely consider coming in again!

I just went today for my first piercing , Tori at the front desk was very kind and informative , a really good way to greet people , Joey came out promptly and assisted me ,, very nice , informative also , he did the piercing on my eyebrow , he explained it step by step and did a amazing job ! 🌟 also I was calling places all day and everyone was expensive and not as polite ,, this place was meant to be , great job guys !!!

I saw Benny today and he was able to give me exactly what I wanted but better! He was very kind and welcoming and pretty gentle while tattooing! The shop overall is very clean and all the artists are really friendly, I can’t wait to come back!

Knowing that Salt and Light has very talented artists from previous experience with Matt G., II knew that my next tattoo would be completed at this shop. Not only did I want a talented artist, but I wanted a fellow Christ follower who would understand my love and devotion to Jesus and would understand why I wanted to get Jesus Christ in Farsi/Persian on my neck. After clicking on the Artists tab on their website and seeing Joel Parkers picture with a hat that clearly stated Jesus, I knew he would be my next artist. I was blessed to get an appointment with him the same day I emailed him my idea! (This was a blessing because Joel has a packed schedule! Call the shop to find out more.) Joel did a great job and I couldnt be happier! I didnt want my neck tattoo to make me look like a gangster and instead, because he placed it going with the curve of my neck, it looks feminine. (When I wear my cross necklace, the tattoo follows the curve of the chain, which is awesome!) I am very happy with my new neck tattoo.✝️(Disclaimer- the artists at Salt and Light are considerate professionals, so they have a tendency not to give neck tattoos to people without other visible tattoos. But please call before assuming they wont tattoo you if youre looking for a neck piece.)

I went to get a second lobe piercing and it was an excellent experience. Joey was my piercer and I will be going back to see exclusively him. Hes incredibly professional, calm, gentle and was certain to make sure I was happy with piercing and placement. I came back a week later to get three more piercings after the first and was extremely happy with all of them. The shop was really clean and everyone was incredibly friendly. I cant recommend them enough. Thank you Joey and thank you to the owner of the shop for keeping such great staff.

I went in for my first piercing (nostril) and it was a dream! My piercer was Megan and she was FANTASTIC!! I was of course nervous when I first came in, but everyone was so friendly and welcoming. Megan was very gentle, explained everything during the process, and was very thorough in answering my questions and making sure I was happy with everything. My eye was watering a bit from the piercing and she even dabbed that away as she was cleaning up the piercing site lol. Very sweet staff and Ill definitely be coming back! 👍

I got my first tattoo here and LOVED the experience. Not only was everyone incredibly nice, but it was super clean inside. I definitely recommend Jay...he was super nice, understanding, and a super talented artist!

I am so thankful I found this place-I just got done having my flat pierced by Joey at the Chandler location-and it was the best piercing experience I have had to date from start to finish; now I truly understand why they have all the 5 star reviews lol.The person working the front desk was kind and helpful, patient as I asked questions, and helped direct me towards the titanium jewelry within my budget. She really helped set the stage for a relaxing piercing experience-which is a first for me. I’ve been to some great piercing studios, but the friendly, warm and welcoming vibe I experienced here was a first for me. I was able to then pick out a titanium labret topper (as I have a nickel allergy, and do not heal well with stainless steel in fresh piercings,) and discuss the flat vs. mid-helix dilemma with Joey.I wasn’t 100% sure which one I wanted done today as I was concerned my glasses stem might bump the back of a flat, (even though that’s the one I wanted the most), but Joey carefully examined my ear anatomy and where my glasses rest, and he was fairly certain we could make it work.He then placed the piercing dots on the front and back so I could take a look, and see if I wanted to go ahead with it-and I’m so appreciative of all the extra time and effort he put into it. It made it so much easier to move ahead with the flat confidently, assured that my glasses would likely not be a problem.The piercing itself was a breeze and I was ecstatic to see that the flat jewelry not only really completed my ear setup, but also that my glasses cleared the piercing as well!! Woohoo! Aftercare explanation was fantastic, and it’s the only time in the history of my 15 piercings that I have received a little card that lists the type of jewelry, the length, gauge, etc.-very helpful for future jewelry changes!All in all-I am so glad I made a change and visited Salt and Light today-I will most certainly be back once this has healed and get more done in the future. Thank you guys so much for everything!!

I just got my first tattoo ever done by Cristian at Salt and Light Tattoo and I dont think it could have gone any better! From the first email to the last one, many questions regarding healing and second sessions-whoever runs the email account does an amazing job.Cristian was fantastic! I took him a photo, asked him to edit it a little bit, gave him freedom to add his own flare to it, and it came out fantastic! It was a black and gray/photo realism style, with a little twist. It was two sessions, totaling somewhere around 8 hours. For my first ever tattoo, it was a great experience! He explained everything to me very well and answered all my questions I had regarding the machines, the ink, the healing...anything and everything he was kind and very informative. He was conscious of how I was feeling during the process and was really pleasant to just sit and talk with during the sessions as well. If/when Im ready to get another one, I will be scheduling with Cristian again, thats for sure!

The best tattoo shop Ive ever been to. The staff is so amazing. Every artist there is so kind and helpful. They are more than willing to work with you and continue to create amazing art pieces. Their new shop is super clean and very beautifully put together. Id reccomend Salt & Light Tattoo 10 times out of 10.

Last week I received my first tattoo from Moth. Not only was he extremely welcoming and explained what he was doing every step of the way, but my tattoo turned out perfect as well. The shop itself was extremely clean and all of the employees I interacted with were kind and helpful. Ive had many piercings done here as well as several tattoos by Moth, and I cant recommend this shop enough. The shop itself has great customer service and is always spotlessly clean, and its obvious that everyone who works there cares deeply about their clients.Ive had piercings done by both Joey and Megan, and can guarantee that youll have an amazing experience with either of them. They will talk you through each step of the process and educate you on aftercare and sanitary needs over the course of the appointment. Theyve always been extremely helpful and kind when addressing potential questions or concerns.My last 5 tattoos have been done by Moth and Ive already scheduled two more sessions with him. Beyond having a beautiful art style, I can confidently say that I have never felt safer or more heard with a tattoo artist, and that I always feel completely comfortable throughout the entire process. I seriously cannot recommend Moth enough, and am so grateful for the fact that he has given me the best tattoo experiences in my life.

Needed my nose ring changed. They were the first that came up when researching. Walked in, and the girl at the counter was very friendly and answered all my questions I had. The piercer was efficient and explained as she changed it. I would most definitely go back.

I just got my snake bites (2 labrets on bottom lip) done with joey and he is amazing! i ended up passing out, which i expected but he handled it professionally:) he let me stay as long as i needed until i was able to get up. i will definitely come back to this shop, very clean and professional, good prices too! mine were 90$ total since they do full price ($50) for the first and then 10$ off the second one.edit: went back today for a septum piercing and i was with joey again. didnt pass out this time! he also fixed the jewelry on one of my lip piercings for free (it wouldnt screw in all the way). i will go here anytime i want a piercing!!

My sister and I came here today for the first time and it was a wonderful experience. Aaron did both of our tattoos and did an amazing job! Everyone is so friendly and welcoming. Far exceeded our expectations and you will not regret coming here.

I’ve been tattooed by many different artists in several different states over the years, and Andy (Moth) is hands down the best artist I’ve ever worked with! My husband and I were tattooed by him yesterday, and we just loved him. He was so kind, professional, funny, gentle, and quick, and we LOVE how everything came out! His lines are so clean!! We are very thankful we had the privilege of working with him, and we plan to make many more appointments with him in the future! Thank you for the wonderful experience, Andy!

Sheena is absolutely amazing! By far the best professional body piercer I have been to. I got 2 micro-dermal anchors on the front of my neck/chest area. When she brought me back to her room her first question was “have you done research about MDA’s?” It’s a very unique and high maintenance piercing, and she made sure I was clear on the process and chances of it rejecting or not lasting forever. She was extremely professional when explaining the risks to me and making sure I was confident in wanting them, without making me feel stupid. She also had me move in several directions and took her time marking the area to make sure they were placed correctly to give me the best chance of successfully healing it without rejection. Sheena knows what she’s talking about and doesn’t just give you what you want to get paid, she’s willing to inform you of the risks and possibly deter you from a piercing or modification that isn’t practical or safe. I am almost 3 weeks out from getting it done and past the initial healing part, and they have healed beautifully with no issues so far. The placement is perfect, so no rejection or migration at this point because she knows what she’s doing! Another nice option is she has a private room where you can close the door, it makes the experience much more comfortable. I had to remove my top for the piercing and was able to comfortably because the room was separate and private with a closed door, which I really liked. You don’t see a lot of body piercers with a separate area like that. Sheena has an overall sweet personality and is very gentle and easy to get along with. Thank you so much for the incredible piercing! I will absolutely come in for follow pictures as soon as I can and my schedule isn’t so crazy, I promise I did not forget!

Was referred to Jay Rizzo and could not be happier. Jay was awesome to work with and did an AMAZING job on my tattoo. Gave him the picture of what I wanted but didnt know how I wanted the words and he decided to circle the picture. It turned out better than I ever expected. Will defiantly be coming back for more!

Received my first tattoo here this past week, and I must say I highly recommend this place! My anxiety was put to ease right away and Aaron was a true professional and did an absolutely FANTASTIC job. I will most definitely be coming back!

Absolutely professional the receptionist was wonderful offered water very personable help me pick out my jewelry for my nose. The young man who changed my jewelry was absolutely awesome he made certain that I was comfortable and that my new jewelry would fit perfectly. I am so pleased with this establishment.

Got two piercings here. They were amazing! The staff are so nice and friendly, the place is very inviting. Staff is knowledgeable about piercings and placement. Pricing is incredibly affordable! I got a longish (7 hours) tattoo with Cris last month. Couldnt be more pleased with the tattoo shop and Cris himself. We met before to go over what I wanted and the final result was way better than I even imagined! The scheduling was easy and the desk staff very responsive. Cris was a really nice guy and easy to be around for 7 hours straight. It had been 17 years since my last tattoo so I met with 3 or 4 different artists from different shops before going with Cris at Salt and Light and Im just so thrilled with how it all turned out. Prices are super reasonable compared to other places in the valley, too.

Sheena is the best!! She was able to help me change out several of my old piercings with shorter bars, helped me get my nose piercing back in & did my tragus! The shop was incredibly busy as they were having a sale & Sheena was working her butt off! As busy as they were, she took her time taking care of us, and helping us decided on new jewelry placement. They have a great selection of jewelry, and the shop is very clean and well kept. Front desk staff was so helpful and kind. Overall such a great experience, cannot wait to come back to Sheena and maybe also get some work done by the talented tattoo artists as well!!

I walked in to see if there was availability. Front desk staff was super friendly, and helpful. I waited approximately 10 minutes before talking with the artist and within 30 minutes I was in a chair. My artist was Ryan, he was easy to converse with and very talented. I love my new tattoo!

I’ve been a client at Salt & Light for years and can say that this studio is nothing short of stellar. I mostly had gotten tattoos done here, but this past weekend I stopped by to get some piercings done by Megan Collier. Megan answered all of the questions I had, made sure that I liked the placement of the piercings, and gave me a full run down on care for said piercings. Matt G and his team have a professionalism that is unmatched by most studios, and I’m glad to say that I’m a patron here. Kudos to everyone at the shop for making it feel professional, safe, and understanding of their clients’ needs. If you’re looking for tattoos, piercings, jewelry, and even some sick shirts and hats, Salt & Light is the place to go. I cannot recommend them enough!

This shop is the absolute best! I went in for a nostril piercing, and Megan was just the best! The shop is so very clean. Which always makes me feel good because I know they care about where they work. Megan talked me through everything, what to expect and made sure I was comfortable before she did anything. There was no surprises! Everything was really clean and well done. When I had mentioned my cartilage piercing was re pierced, she offered to help me out and stretch it for me for a very reasonable price. I left twice as happy! The aftercare instructions were very clear, and she gave me her contact info if I had any questions or concerns. I am so happy I drove out to see her and will most definitely be back for future work! Sean at Salt & Light Tattoo is the absolute best! His line work is incredibly clean and he is skilled at one needle tattoos. At our consult I explained what I wanted and provided him with pictures and he drew up an amazing rendition of exactly what I wanted. On the day of, he was so friendly and accommodating even after I asked for the position of the tattoo to be changed a few times. The entire experience was great from the lovely girl at the check in counter to the rest of the staff. The environment is bright and inviting and extremely clean. Saw Megan today for multiple piercings and had a great experience! She was very knowledgeable, and quick to answer any of my questions. I definitely felt comfortable and like I was in a judgement free zone. The shop itself was one of the cleanest Ive been in, they take sanitation seriously. All the staff I had contact with was very friendly and quick to help. I came in to get a helix piercing. When it comes to piercings and tattoos or blood draws I have a lot of anxiety and have almost passed out on numerous occasions. I let Sheena know this and she did such an amazing job at making me feel comfortable and calm enough to get this piercing. I’m super glad I came here and even more glad and grateful for Sheena :)

I recieved a nostril piercing to match my right nostril piercing from Joey who matched it perfectly! Prior to that he changed out my right nostril jewelry and executed it with great efficiency. 10/10

Called ahead, was told there was no wait at that time, and showed up shortly thereafter, for 3 nose & ear piercings for my wife. Megan was our piercer, she was very fast and professional, did excellent work and a great job explaining piercing aftercare. A+, will definitely return in the future!

This shop does not work with any wiccan, pagan, or neo-pagan people if they want to get a tattoo to represent their religion. Not worth the time or effort to go to this shop. Requested a death moth, they started it is Satanic. Be better at people beliefs

This is my second time in for piercings and I couldn’t be happier! The quality of the jewelry is amazing and they have the best selection of pretty jewelry that comes with the price of the piercing, which is the best price in town. Plus everyone is super friendly and professional. The piercer Megan was amazing. He was friendly and professional. His work took more than 4 hours with me and he was careful to ensure my well-being and comfort. Sean did such an amazing job. It was my first tattoo and I had trouble with exactly what and how I wanted it. He could not have done a more perfect job! I got my nose and daith peirced a few weeks ago by Megan. The place was clean and staf were helpful and friendly. Megan was super quick and the piercings came out perfectly( I havent had any issues with them yet either) If youre looking to get peirced definitely check this place out.

I am an older (65) woman. This is not my first tattoo (been a few years) but I went in alone last week for a new one. I knew what I wanted and had researched and found Sean at Salt and Light through his portfolio as the perfect artist to create what I was looking for.Even though I clearly dont look like the typical client, I was warmly greeted and treated with the utmost personal respect by everyone throughout the process.Everyone was very professional and personable. And Sean was wonderful to work with. I highly recommend Salt and Light.

Love this studio. I went yesterday to get my second piercing from this place and had another great experience. They walk you through every step before, during and after your piercing to provide with a wide understanding of the responsibility and aftercare of any piercing youre getting. Prices are also very fair as I got a piercing for $40+tip when its a ridiculous $80+tip anywhere else. Everyone is super nice and friendly and its a very comfortable setting. Would definitely reccomend this place to anyone!

I had my tattoo done with Sean, and it is better than I could have imagined. I emailed online, sent 2 reference photos and some details about what I wanted and when I got to the shop a few days later Sean had it drawn out and it was perfect! He totally nailed the design I was going for. The vibe of the shop is awesome and inviting too. I only say that b/c a lot of the shops Ive been to before try to be intimidating b/c the staff want to make it seem kinda dark and intense. But this place is great, and Sean is just a super cool guy, I had a great experience and would absolutely return!

I’ve had two of my piercings done by Megan now, and she is absolutely the best! She is so detailed and explains exactly what she’s doing, and how to take care of the piercing afterwards once you’re home. She has such a calm presence and makes you feel so comfortable! 5 stars for her :)

Ive shopped here regularly over the last few years and while Ive never been disappointed and always been treated well, with kindness and respect by the artists, owner and front desk help, it wasnt until recently while dealing with Joey that I felt the urge to post a review.He has been nothing but helpful and friendly to a rare and genuinely human degree that far surpasses many others in his position and in this profession in general. It is always a pleasure to shop here even on my own downtrodden days.All of that and not to mention the expertly crafted and masterful art and tattoos done by the resident artists. If you want to get pierced, Megan is AMAZING. She’s friendly and has a wonderful spirit. Makes you feel welcomed and comfortable. The atmosphere is superb and the entire staff is wonderful. They never disappoint and I highly recommend.

Tony showed me the design he created for me and my boys and i am in love with the design. It came out amazing. I have had so many compliments on it already. My boys love how it came out! They are so impressed. The line detail is amazing and precise! You bet I will be going back for the next one! I recently got in contact with them to set up an appointment for a tattoo for 2 people, I made a couple of changes from what I originally was wanting and they were very understanding and flexible to what I needed to change! So far this place seems professional, I have an appointment with their tattoo artist Adam on Saturday, I will update on how it goes!-UPDATE:Overall it was a good experience, the only thing is that it’s more on the pricey side of things, but other than that place was neat, staff seemed nice, Adam did a good job!

Great tattoo shop! This place is very clean and well lit. The staff is awesome. And the prices are very reasonable. I will be going back to get more work done.Went back to get a quote to get more work done and I was stunned when they told me the quote. The first time I went it was a very reasonable price including tip, this time the quote was outrageous 900$ for a quarter sleeve they said it would take 6 hours. Went to go shop around at some other shops and found that most other ones were asking 500 max. I dont know what changed but i wouldnt call it a reasonable price anymore. Id recommend shopping around at other shops first.

Did a good job tattooing, although stopped at my quoted time limit, and then said,its done, and no one would notice, but I can detail it for $100 an hour more if you want to keep going. Felt hustled with that ghetto approach, should have been upfront for an entire piece of work. Then tried to book an appointment for some more work, and its been 7 days after the front office said they would contact me, still no word. Guess I have to find a new shop, very dissappointed...come back Matt.

I had my first session yesterday with Joel and I will just say that the whole experience was amazing. not only was Joel able to design something that was exactly what I had in my head and he was able to put that on paper, but he was very polite and friendly and made the whole experience enjoyable and I am so looking forward to coming back in a couple of weeks to finish up my piece. and cant wait to get more work done by Joel and at the shop.

CJ is an amazing artist that Ill definitely continue coming back to. Hes done several pieces and I fall in love with each one every time hes done working his magic. Hes a very talented artist and holds a wide range in art style--he can basically do anything! Highly recommend this place. Clean shop and great customer service. :)

Ive frankly never seriously considered a tattoo, but following my 14 year old daughters passing in June of 2016, a result of her and I being hit head-on by a drunk driver on Christmas Eve the year before, I wanted to get something in her honor.As a Christian, I wanted to support a shop with similar values and was pleasantly surprised to find Salt and Light nearby.Joel was my artist and he very patiently worked with me on some ideas I had until we settled on the right design. He asked if it was alright to pray before he started, which I was more than agreeable to.It didnt take very long, was not the least bit painful, and I was quite happy with the results. In my case, the healing process was minimal.I highly recommend Joel and Salt and Light - especially if you are a newbie like me.

Was in town for a week and wanted to get some new ink. After visiting a few places salt and light was where I decided to go. They were helpful and friendly. All of their artist were booked of course . It just so happend that one artist had an appointment that canceled and had some free time. So I was able to get a tattoo done. Jay Rizzo (RZO) was my artist. I was worried because of his next appointment coming quick he was going to rush. It was quick but an outstanding job he did. Light hand great lines and shading. I was and am very pleased with my new tatt. Looked through all the artist which had books work and there was great work by all from what I could see. If I could have stayed and got another I would have. Definitely a place Id go back for more ink from . And a place I would strongly recommend. 👍👍

Salt & Light Tattoo is one of the best shops in Arizona. My favorite artist is CJ and he is very talented and absolutely amazing. He recently reworked a tattoo that I was really unhappy with and it turned out better than I imagined it would. He always makes an effort to listen to what you really want and sets realistic expectations to give the best tattoo possible. His work definitely speaks for itself.

I found salt & light on google and was intrigued by the name. the tattoo i wanted was small so i decided to go as a walk-in. i was greeted by someone immediately and directed to jesse who was available to fit me in. he was super easy to talk to, made my sister and i laugh, feel comfortable and welcome. he was very professional and seemed to have a lot of experience judging by his awesome portfolio book. we were done in a matter of minutes but the experience was SO good i would 100% recommend the shop (super clean, neat, and not intimidating like many shops ive been in) to anyone and will certainly go back to jesse in the future.

I didn’t have the best experience here. I was really excited to get my first tattoo but I felt the tattoo was rushed and there were a few obvious mistakes that the artist didnt apologize for or even acknowledge. Kind of disappointing since it’s on my body forever. I have since found an artist who is much more thoughtful and precise with their work.

Ive seen reviews where people are complaining about over working, scarring and their skin getting messed up, thats not the artists, thats the customers trying to find people to blame for not properly taking care of their tattoos. If you want quality, and you want artists who care, then Salt and Light is the place.
