Kimberly was absolutely amazing, I cannot recommend her enough!! My brother and I went in to get some new piercings (I got a conch done and he got a helix) and of all the piercings I’ve had done, it was the best experience I’ve had with a piercer. She was super professional, kind, and takes a lot of pride in what she does. She made sure to explain to us everything that she was doing along the way, everything was sanitized and clean, and she just made the whole process very fun and easy!All that to say both my brother and I highly recommend going to Golden Falcon for any piercings in the future, and we are so happy with the results! Great work. We are from out of town and selected Golden Falcon based upon Kimberly’s line work. She was truly accommodating and fun to talk to.6 of us blocked a chunk of time for a family tattoo. Kimberly executed our plan perfectly. Although we hadn’t planned on it, she also refreshed and touched up an old one for my wife and I. Prices were very reasonable and i have never been to a shop that paid this much attention to cleanliness. Would consider a trip to Chapel Hill just to have a piece done.

Fantastic experience working with Jay Rock. He not only has fantastic technique/ skill (just look at his work and it’s obvious), but he’s also an extremely talented designer who has a deep understanding of aesthetics and design process. I came in with inspiration/ some ideas, and Jay was the person i needed to put it all together into what i knew i wanted, but couldn’t create on my own.Im very pleased with the start of my leg piece, and Jay is an absolute professional. Timely, efficient, and passionate about his work.I’ll be back soon to complete my leg. Golden Falcon is a great shop!

My mom and I went on a friend’s recommendation, and it was such a great experience!Calvin is one of the sweetest and kindest person an ever met, he made us feel very comfortable and welcome! He took his time to clean up his work area and was very detailed and clear when giving instructions. He was very patient and made us have a really good time.Plus, he has a great sense of humor :)¡We’re definitely coming back!

I got my third piercing on both of my earlobes by Kimberly and had a wonderful experience. She let me know what she was doing throughout the process, was very sanitary, and gave me great aftercare instructions. It is clear she knows her stuff, and I would recommend her to anyone I know who wants a piercing.

I booked my appoint with the Owner Kimberly. I recently had a Tattoo done on my forearm by a different Tattoo shop and was not satisfied. I then was lucky enough to find Golden Falcon Tattoo. Kimberly fixed my Tattoo and went above and beyond in making sure it was perfect. I couldn’t recommend this shop enough. I will most definitely be returning in the near future for further work. If you want a peace of mind and quality work this is a place for you and Kimberly is your Artist.

I came in awhile ago because a ball fell off my new helix piercing. I only wanted to buy a different piece of jewelry to put in. When I asked they offered to help me switch it. Keep in mind I just walked in and didn’t make an appointment which is very hard to do at a lot of places. They took me and helped me and didn’t charge me for the help, just the jewelry. I tipped of course but they didn’t make a fuss. Calvin, cleaned my ear, was very gentle and switched my piercing out. I wouldn’t have been able to do it myself because it was a fresh piercing. They are so nice and if you want a piercing I suggest going here. I will definitely be going here for my next piercings because that level of help and kindness is not matched anywhere else that I’ve been. Super clean as well. Thank you guys so much. It’s been a few weeks since I’ve come in and I’m sorry my review was late but thank you guys so much.

I just got my second tattoo done by Kimberly, and I love it. She did my first one 6 or 7 years ago, and I still love it. Kimberly is very knowledgeable and customer focused. When I came in for my tattoo this time, we spent so much time discussing the design that I had to schedule another time to come back to actually have the tattoo done. I appreciate that Kimberly is patient and takes her time. She prioritizes making sure the customer gets exactly what they want and something they will love forever. We probably spent 30 minutes alone looking through different font options! She makes sure you understand the best options for what you envision, including placement and how the tattoo will age. Kimberlys prices are also very reasonable. If you are considering getting a tattoo, I highly recommend Kimberly!

I went to Gypsy Hill for my first ever piercings during COVID-19.The staff was so professional and prepared -- everything was clean, they had everyone washing their hands, and it all felt very safe.Pat the piercer is AMAZING!!!He was so helpful and answered all my questions -- he even patiently responded when I messaged him several months into my piercing with questions about redness (he was right, totally fine/normal!)I LOVE LOVE LOVE my piercings and I imagine Ill come back for more.HIGHLY recommend Gypsy Hill!!

She took three sheets of doodles and ideas I gave her, and she not only came up with a plan, but she was real with me telling me what would and would not work. I am thrilled with my experience at Golden Falcon.I got my first tattoo when I was 18 and knew nothing about the process. I had a bad experience and it took me ten years to try again.Jay at golden falcon was professional and clean while also being a real person who makes you feel like you’re buds even though you just met. He took the time to make sure everything was perfect. I even would’ve settled for an asymmetrical design because I am too afraid to say no. But he made sure everything was symmetrical and the placement was just right. Something many people would not bother to do- especially for a walk in!I’m so glad I took the risk and went here. I feel ready to get more tattoos now!

Definitely recommend this place for piercings💯. Pat is awesome, consistent and precise. You will not be disappointed at all. Ive seen him for every dermal piercing I have and I havent had one issue with any of my piercings. 🤞🏾I did receive a tattoo from here once by Jaq who I believe isnt there anymore but I did love my tattoo. 💜 I do plan on getting another so Ill update this whenever I get my next tattoo 😁The vibes here are cool for the most part. I thought one of the females was rude/dry initially but thats just off small interaction. Gypsy Hill has done 9 tattoos for me. The store is clean, which is very important to me, and I have always felt like I was in good hands while I was there. If you want a tattoo I couldnt recommend them more. They are a knowledgeable staff and (again cannot stress how important it is to me) very clean.

My wife and I booked Kimberly for tattoos and are both super happy with what we received. The shop is great, Kimberly is great, her boyfriend is great. We’re absolutely going to be coming back for more work soon. We live in Pinehurst and the hour and 15 min drive is absolutely worth it to us. It’s my first color tattoo and I’m in love with it!

I was trying to find somewhere to fit me in for a nose piercing but most places had appointment only. My mom and I went to Gypsy Hill and they were able to squeeze me in just an hour after we showed up. The staff was incredibly nice and gave lots of helpful information. Pat did my nostril piercing and made me feel very relaxed. He explained everything as he was doing it and had me practice some breathing techniques to help calm me down beforehand. The jewelry they have to choose from is beautiful and reasonably priced. You get what you pay for for both the jewelry and experience. Next time I want another piercing or want to change my jewelry, I will undoubtedly be going here and requesting Pat. Thank you guys for making me comfortable and giving me a great experience!

Everyone was friendly! I booked an appointment online. Got reminders about when it was coming up. The day of, I entered, they had me wear a mask and ask for my hands to be washed. Pat came over and explained my options of earrings for a tragus piercing. I selected the golden dagger push pin which has a lifetime warranty on it. Though I was sticker shocked from the price, ultimately, it is well worth it to remain in my body.After selecting, he prepped the piece and table. He explained what was going to happen. I really appreciated his enthusiasm for his work and the process.It didnt hurt too much but whew, the pressure through the tragus was rough. Which Pat warned about. Once done, the piercing looked great! He asked me to come back in 2 weeks so they could check how it has healed. Which I did. Everything is going well. This is going on week 3 of the piercing.I am already planning to go back to Pat for a daith piercing. He is the one to work with! I felt comfortable the entire time.

I have several piercings already (from other places) but the experience here was by far the best Ive ever had. Pat was so sweet and kind and answered all my questions, but also gave me so much information about what he was doing and how it worked that I honestly didnt have that many questions to ask anyway, which was great because I like to know whats going on. The whole studio was very cognizant of staying distanced and I had my temperature taken before entering and had to wash my hands and wipe down my phone and ID, as well as having to wear a mask. One thing that really stood out to me - in a good way - was that Pat asked if I was okay with laying on the table before asking me to do so (I was getting 2 ear piercings). This wasnt something I had even thought twice about and was totally comfortable doing, but I loved that he had the thought to ask because some people may not be comfortable doing so and he made sure I was before asking me to.Every other place Ive gone for piercings has seemed as if theyre trying to crank through clients to get as many people in as possible, and while I understand that to some extent because the artists do need to make money, I very much appreciated that here I didnt feel rushed and Pat really cared that I knew how to take care of my piercings and expects to see me back in 6 weeks to make sure things are healing well, and said not to hesitate to message him if something doesnt seem right. This isnt a one and done kind of place, they care that what they do looks good and continues to look good as it heals and beyond. I will definitely be coming back here for more piercings in the future!!Also I wanted to mention here that several other reviews mention the price is way too high, but considering the professionalism and the continued services they offer after the initial piercing appointment, I think the price is totally fair. I got my tragus and helix pierced, and picked maybe the mid price range jewelry, and paid about $205 which covered both piercings, jewelry for both, aftercare cleaner, checkup appointments, downsizing once the swelling goes down, service fees, and taxes, plus I can message Pat whenever I have issues with my piercings and the jewelry is guaranteed for life, so to me thats a damn reasonable price to pay for someone putting a foreign object through your body 😝

He made me feel like I was the only client with a great personal touch and an undivided attention.He paced his work and consistently applied the numing cream to minimize the pain.Jay Rock uses a high quality natures friendly products.He took me to lunch and later on to a coffee break. As a big supporter of local businesses, he was promoting some of the best businesses in town.You will never be bored with Jay. He was a complete education about his profession, the surrounding businesses, the city and state of North Carolina.He was also impressive how he kept the place sanitized before during and after.He used organic local high quality after care products. He made sure I have his number and that he was available for any questions or concerns.And his tattoos are real dope.Jay truly rocks. Looking forward to my next visit in few weeks.

Ty is awesome! Very attentive to detail, listened to all my little critiques and helped create the perfect design. Did a wonderful job making the process as easy as possible for me. I have low blood sugar and began to feel ill at the very beginning, and he took great care to make sure I was comfortable and didn’t pass out, lol! Pat was beyond amazing. I visited Pat at Golden Falcon to get my nostril re-pierced. My initial piercing was at a piercing/tattoo place in Raleigh in 2018. While I *thought* I had done enough research for my initial piercing, my experience with Pat showed me just how amazing he is and how he truly goes above and beyond to ensure a successful and healthy piercing.Through my experience with Pat, I learned that it takes significantly longer than I was initially told for a nostril piercing to heal (I was told 6 months, Pat recommended 9-12 months). I also loved that my after care was included in my initial piercing cost (I purchased after-care solution separately with my initial piercing).When I inquired as to whether or not I could return to Pat to (eventually) change my jewelry, Pat mentioned that he *preferred* that to be the case - to ensure that the jewelry was appropriate and placed correctly. He also requires a six-week follow-up check to ensure everything is healing as should be expected.Throughout the piercing process, Pat explained each step along the way. He was incredibly kind and patient. I would hands down recommend Pat. My piercing experience between Pat at Golden Falcon and another seemingly reputable piercer at an establishment that received positive reviews was just night and day. I would hands down recommend Pat - loved everything about this experience :-)

Everytime I entered I was greeted by friendly faces and a great atmosphere. Got a tattoo done over 3 sessions by Sam! Each time she was kind and accommodating of my schedule. She did her best to make sure I was comfortable throughout each session and provided an excellent experience! I am extremely happy with my piece and hope to be back soon!

Had the best time with Sam Castro. She was very professional and caring. I love the new tattoo she designed—can’t wait for my next session to finish it. My 8 year old had her ears pierced and I had my helix pierced by Pat a few weeks ago. My daughter was very nervous but Pat was awesome, talking her through everything so she could understand. He was gentle, calm and kind. Our piercings look awesome and we have had no issues with healing. Pat is very knowledgeable and our piercings were well placed. The shop is clean and one of the nicer tattoo/piercings shops I have been too. I felt very comfortable bringing my child here. Highly recommend!

I was so nervous before getting this and I was debating what design to get and Jay is so patient and adjusted the design until I was 100% satisfied with it. And the process was not at all painful. Got it done within like half an hour. Highly recommended:)!

Golden Falcon is extremely professional, reliable, trustworthy, and attentive! I made an appointment for my second helix piercing, and when I walked in, I was immediately greeted and taken care of. Ian was my piercer and he was so patient as I took my time deciding which jewelry I wanted and made me feel confident and excited about my choice. The apprentice was SO kind and easy to talk to, and the two of them together made the experience super enjoyable and comfortable! Ian even fixed the broken hoop on my first helix piercing without me having to ask him. The people here seriously care about their customers! Golden Falcon is my new go-to spot for piercings.

I went to Golden Falcon Tattoo today to get Slappy the dummy doll. My expectations were exceeded by far by Kimberly. When I walked in I actually felt welcomed and not like I was being rushed or I was bothering them like I’ve felt at some other tattoo shops to the point I’ve turned around and left. I’ve went to Gypsy Hill before at the old location and had a piercing fixed by Pat but I was looking for a good tattoo artist and I liked the reviews and Kimberly’s artistry. We all talked- my husband and daughter were with me (she’s a little older) but everyone was involved it felt like we were talking with old friends— now Back to her amazing tattooing like I said I JUST got it so there is some redness but the line work is amazing and I love how she paid so much attention to detail such as his hair and shadows ! I’m so glad with wasn’t just a black square shape with a couple swoops. My husband and I are going to get matching tattoos and we’re talking about going back to Kimberly for that one. Her shop is super close to us and she did amazing work on my arm tonight and I saw reviews(&pictures) on other work she did I may have found me a new artist. Her overall chill but welcoming vibe is also a plus!!! Thanks Kimberly

Great service when getting a piercing here. I had Pat do my piercing and he was so helpful, understanding, and overall made me feel extremely comfortable through the whole process. I would highly recommend! Everyone in the shop is extremely kind and helpful. Fuji gave great information from the first phone call. My daughter had a problem with a piercing done at another studio getting irritated. They fit us in same day on a Sunday. And Pat was skilled, experienced, kind, gentle and great at explaining everything. No problems since then!

I highly recommend Pat for piercings. He helped fix one of my piercings from somewhere else. He made sure that a industrial piercing would work for my ear before moving forward. I had went to another location and they didnt even bother looking at my ear and told me no. Pat spent minutes looking at my ear to see if it would work. He felt comfortable that it would and I got the piercing which I absolutely love. I really appreciate how much he cares about his work and customers. Hes done two piercings for me so far and I will be making more appointments when Im ready for another.

I was early for my appointment and witnessed the piercer interacting with a young girl getting a piercing. The piercer was so patient and encouraging to the young girl and seemed to really support her through the whole process. Amazing staff and a great environment. I needed an emergency piercing change and they worked me in and did an amazing job. very high quality jewelry as well.

I was really nervous about getting a second pair of lobe piercings, but Pat was absolutely wonderful and made me feel so comfortable. He was very calm and professional and explained the process to me and talked me through each step. He also gave me great advice for taking care of my piercings afterward. All around, this was an awesome experience and I’ll definitely be visiting again for a cartilage piercing soon!

Pat was so incredible. My two friends and I went in today after making appointments and Pat was so helpful. He really cared and gave great feedback about our piercings to make sure they were where we wanted and made us feel comfortable! I just got my septum piercing done here and Pat explained everything he was doing in such a nice and calming way, and he was more than willing to answer all my questions. I felt extremely comfortable and am absolutely in love with my piercing! The shop is very sanitary so that made me feel even better. I also got a tattoo done by Jeff back when they were still on Franklin St. around January and my tattoo has healed nicely. I went in for a septum piercing and jewelry change on some sensitive and fresh piercings that were mishandled (somewhere else) and Pat did a fantastic job! He made sure I felt comfortable and safe the entire time and that I understood what had gone wrong and how to fix it. They’ve implemented great safety precautions to ensure cleanliness and safety for everyone as well. Overall a great experience all around and I can’t wait to go back!

Ian was so patient & kind throughout the whole piercing experience. Lizzy helped me pick out my jewelry & was equally as patient as Im a very indecisive person. I got a 2nd nose piercing next to an existing one & wanted to get jewelry that looked good together. They both had great feedback for me about both jewelry & placement. Ended up with a tourmaline stone hoop for the existing piercing & a trinity stud for the new piercing & they look great together! Truly couldnt have asked for a better experience. Ian & Lizzy were so good to me & Golden Falcon is now where Ill be going for all my piercings. Got my helix piercing done here today and had an amazing experience. My piercer (Pat) was extremely professional, explained all the ins and outs of what I was going to get done, and worked in super clean conditions! He let me know that everything they use for jewelry is implant grade and went over everything you should know about taking care of a new piercing (dos and don’ts). Wonderful staff, super friendly, and relaxed environment, I highly recommend Gypsy Hill!!

On top of her being an amazing artist she was also a very friendly and easy going person, she really cares about the people she is tattooing. The shop itself is gorgeous and has a very nice and laid back atmosphere. I highly recommend going to gypsy hill for a tattoo, first timers or just looking for awesome work. I know i will definitely be returning!

I came in from Chicago and decided to get some piercings done. As nervous as I was, Pat, my piercer, made me feel very comfortable and helped ease my emotions. He was very honest and is very knowledgeable about what he does. I definitely would recommend coming here if you’re looking for someone to make your experience quick but very efficient. As long as I live in the area, I refuse to go anywhere else! Pat treated me amazingly and made me feel so comfortable! I came here to get a naval piercing from him on my 18th birthday and had the best experience. The whole appointment lasted maybe 30 minutes start to end, he explained the whole process to me as he did it, and he used sanitary, individually packed tools (needle, titanium jewelry, etc.) on me. I set an appointment online, which was an easy process. On the day of the appointment (in the midst of COVID), I went to Gypsy Hill and they followed proper procedures to keep their customers and employees safe.The breakdown of pricing was laid out for me before we started. Pat and I then went back and he walked me through his piercing process and recommended aftercare process thoroughly. He was very mindful of my future ideas with the piercing and made sure the placement would accommodate what I eventually wanted.This is an amazing place that makes caring about its customer known. Even going to the lengths of asking me to set another appointment in a couple of months to check on the healing.If youre wanting a new piercing or tattoo, this should be your go to place.

My son and I had our ears pierced here today. It was a great experience. My son had one lobe pierced and I had one helix pierced. The service was excellent. Everyone was professional, very kind, and took the time to explain everything clearly. The shop itself was very clean and well lit. We will absolutely go back! I highly recommend them.

I ended up getting a helix and two lobe piercings which were done super safely and within the means of my comfort. Do not get paired nostril piercings here, they will be very uneven (my left nostril was done by Pat to match the right one). Staff is judgmental. Jewelry options are very limited.Edit #1 10/28: Removed mention of “universal posts.” The threadless ends/posts I was given seem to solely work with each other, which I haven’t encountered before. Mine have been largely interchangeable in the past regardless of company and gauge size.Edit #2 10/28 (final edit): I only buy gold and have been pierced more times than you can count on your fingers and toes. However, the jewelry selection at this shop as a whole is smaller than I’ve seen at plenty of other (highly reputable) shops across NC. I’ve included a photo taken 1 month and two days after piercing to better illustrate Pat’s mistake. He pierced the side with the mole and when I seemed hesitant he assured me they were even. When I went in for my 8 week checkup his tone and demeanor caused me to dissociate from stress and gave my friend an anxiety attack. I really appreciate the offer and your informative responses to my review however this is a wrong that cannot be righted; I’m simply posting this to help others make a more informed choice. I’ve since retired the piercing.

I was tattooed by Tyler, he made me feel comfortable adjusting the design elements to my tattoos as well as size, overall a great experience! I definitely would recommend him or go back again myself. Also, the atmosphere of the shop was welcoming, took me a minute to find since it’s in a neighborhood essentially, but not too hard.

I went in to get my nose piercing redone and to get my uneven second holes fixed, Pat did both piercings and did an amazing job! He’s the most professional piercer I’ve ever gone to and somehow made each piercing almost pain free! When my daughter decided she wanted to get her ears pierced, she was excited but a little nervous. Pat was absolutely incredible to work with. This was my first tattoo experience and I am so glad I came to Gypsy Hill. Jaq was the artist and she was absolutely wonderful. She was very personable, kind and open-minded. Mermaid did my nose piercing on Sunday and she was amazing. I had had my nose previously pierced years ago elsewhere and nothing compares the experience I received at gypsy hill. She was friendly, knowledgeable, and kind and the piercing itself was virtually painless as she walked me through the process. I had a very pleasant experience and would come back for another piercing or possibly even a tattoo :)

Emity pierced my nose and she was wonderful! She was so patient with me and explained everything to me, down to each instrument and how she would use it, in great detail. She’s so sweet and made the whole thing so comfortable. I don’t think I could have had a better first professional piercing experience!

Pat’s super knowledgeable but has a bad attitude. Hes done a number of my piercings and I put up with it, but he treats me like a nuisance every time I walk in the shop. I walked in for a jewelry change today. It was nice of him to fit me in last minute. When I arrived, he took one look at my new industrial bar and decided it was cheaply made (it was high quality implant grade titanium) and proceeded to make a bunch of back handed comments about it. It sucked because I was so excited to finally get the bar changed and he kind of ruined the experience. He acted annoyed the whole time and barely even acknowledged me before I left. If he thought it was a bad idea, I wish he would have declined the service instead of taking my money. In my previous visits, he made a habit of constantly criticizing my old piercings. For example, EVERY single time I went, he told me that my industrial was pierced badly and that it was never gonna heal. Its perfectly healed and fine now. Giving helpful aftercare advice is one thing, but I always left feeling like an idiot. Hes great at piercing but Im not gonna keep wasting his time by going there.

I went here recently to get a tattoo. The staff was extremely unprofessional, as they complained about multiple clients in front of me. The owner was rude and acted as if the other employees were a burden to her, specifically the girl who answers phones and seems to be in training to become an artists. As soon as she left the shop the owner made multiple complaints in front of me about things she had done. My piece was over priced, the quality of it was okay but I am Positive I could Have gotten better quality at a different shop for a better price. They also require aftercare which adds $20 to the cost of the tattoo whether you want to use their aftercare or not. Overall I had a bad experience and won’t be returning. I honestly regret leaving a tip because they were getting so much of my money to begin with. The location was convenient because there are many shops in chapel hill, however; I would recommend going to Durham and checking out twisted sixes or dogstar. Both of which I know Will give a better experience for a better price.

I went here for a nose piercing and had a great experience! Pat was very knowledgeable and not only gave me a ton of info about this piercing but also gave me advice about others (that I got done at other places). It’s been less than a week and my nose already feels healed.They’re also being very clean and cautious about COVID- took my temperature, wiped everything down, had me wash my hands, and even asked me to sanitize my phone. I 100% recommend Pat and Gypsy Hill!

I had one of the best tattooing experiences with Gypsy Hill. Their store is clean and they have several COVID guidelines in place. Tyler worked with me to get the exact look I wanted for my tattoo and I couldnt be happier! Its been healing really nicely and is definitely my favorite tattoo I have so far.

Pat is absolutely fantastic. I came in to get my ears repierced 10 years after a blowout from teenage me who wasnt very smart about gauges. He spent a lot of time making sure that he could get it lined up and work around old scar tissue, setting it up where he could cover my awkward looking scar as well.He was communicative about how they will likely heal and things to be careful about. I felt very relaxed as he did the actual piercing because he made sure to explain what he was doing at each step. Highly recommend this place, Ill be going to him for all my piercings now.

My daughters, girlfriend, and I have had Jeff B. do seven tattoos for us and he does amazing work, from simple, clean lines in black, to finer lines with light color, to full color. His friendly and laid-back approach is great. He took a look at my design and vision for my last one and elevated it beyond what I was expecting. All the others folks there are super friendly too. I will definitely see Jeff again for my next tattoo!

I was able to get an appointment with Ty on super short notice and even though it was a same day appointment, he really took the time to understand the design I wanted, helped me to simplify it how I wanted and figure out sizing, and then made sure the stencil was perfectly placed on my shoulder so it wouldn’t look warped or weird. He really made me feel like he wanted to get everything exactly right, and it was a super pleasant and easygoing experience right down to the aftercare instructions! Highly recommend this shop, I’ve gotten a tattoo previously from Jeff as well and he’s fantastic too! Can’t go wrong with Gypsy Hill and I’ll for sure be back!

Gypsy Hill Tattoo is a gem of a shop right on Franklin Street staffed by an tremendously group of talented individuals. Professional yet very friendly and welcoming and the tattooing process was a great experience. I would highly recommend this shop to anyone, wether you are thinking about your first tattoo or adding to your existing collection.This was my first tattooing experience and went big from the jump, Kim spent a good 5 hours working on my piece today and all I can say is time flew by. I really enjoy the work done and cant wait to add some artwork in the future.

I had a GREAT experience at Gypsy Hill/Golden Falcon when I went to get my nose pierced. I have had my nose done a few times a couple years back and this was BY FAR the greatest experience I have had. Everyone was extremely friendly from the guy checking me in (did not catch name) and helping my pick out my jewelry and stay within my budget. Emity pierced my nose and she ran me through every single step and every single instrument she used and when she would use them. It was extremely professional, thoughtful, and comforting. She followed up with instructions on how to clean the piercing and sent me home with solution. Pat was also helpful in helping my select the size stud I wanted and i 100% trusted his judgement! I 10/10 recommend! I will be going back for a tattoo and possibly more piercings from Emity :)

I went in to get a rook piercing about a year ago now. All of the piercing ladies told me I had a great ear for a rook piercing. Myself and a friend were the only people in the shop, so it wasnt busy and there was no rush. Everything seemed fine until my piercer (I believe her name was Mermaid) seemed to have some trouble getting the jewelry in. A friend who came with me later explained that the needle had been removed before the earring was in, so the piercer shoved it through the freshly pierced wound, only telling me that we could stop at any time since I was visibly on the verge of tears.I didnt think much of it until my ear was still swollen, red, bleeding, and painful after 6 months of religious cleaning and care. I have several other difficult cartilage piercings, so I knew the care procedure very well based on various piercer recommendations and personal experience. I took the earring out because I figured it was just rejecting (once again, based on personal experience). I could feel a large crack in the cartilage when I could build up the strength to bear the pain of touching it.HOWEVER, I recently had a different piercing done and the piercer (at a different shop) informed me that my rook cartilage is completely shattered from the initial piercing. He told me that cartilage never fully heals, so the scar and sensitivity will likely remain for years and years. Now, my ear will never look the same, as the shattered cartilage and scar deform a large section of my ear.Im very disappointed that the piercer at Gypsy Hill didnt inform me of the initial issue so I couldve prevented it from the very beginning and avoided months and months of horrible pain. Would not recommend!! I believe the piercing, jewelry, tip, and aftercare supplies added up to around $100. Huge waste of money and energy. Picture below is from 6 months after the piercing was done.

I just got my nose pierced here and they did such a nice job! I had my piercing done with pat and he made sure I was totally comfortable and didn’t do ANYTHING without talking me through it. My friend and I each made an appointment here at 4 pm to get nostril piercings. When we got there, we were told there was a hold up so they would call us in half hour, so my friend and I waited. At 4:30 they called and told us we could come in, but then said that they actually needed longer so theyd call us in another 30 minutes... So we waited even though we were frustrated that our time wasnt being taken seriously because we werent walk in clients, but had appointments set up. When they didnt call in another 30 minutes, we eventually called them ourselves and they said we could come in, but this was also upsetting because it took us calling first to find out we could come in. My friend and I went in one at a time, and I went first. Stephanie was sweet to us, and Pat (the piercer) was indeed knowledgable about his work, but he was impatient and short with me at first. After I chose a piercing, I mentioned that the silver one I chose would clash with my gold jewelry but it would be fine I suppose. He looked at me surprised I was considering gold, and didnt show me the gold options until I specifically asked to see them, which bothered me that he made this assumption about me, and for me. Once we chose our jewelry, they said they would need another 25 minutes to sterilize them so they would call us when its ready. Again...we waited. 45 minutes. It was 6:20 at this point and we decided we wanted to take our business elsewhere because it genuinely did not feel like they valued our time at ALL and we just had to go at that point! Anyways, Im sure if you can actually get in to get a piercing, Pat would have been great but the service was awful in our experience. Also just the labor for a nostril piercing in the totals for my friend and I came out to be $100--and remember that is just for labor not including the jewelry. So expensive and no nose piercings and a waste of a day.

Gypsy Hill is a small shop and the people there are very friendly, which made me feel comfortable. I had my ear lobes pierced by Bob and the piercing itself looks fantastic. The piercing itself went very smoothly, he was clearly very experienced and knowledgeable. I would recommend Bob for anyone trying to get a piercing, he did an excellent job and im very happy with the results:)

The shop was clean and the staff was very COVID-cautious. My temperature was taken as soon as I walked in and I was provided hand sanitizer immediately. When taking my photo ID they requested I first wipe it down before handing it over which I thought was a simple and effective, yet often overlooked, step.The body piercer, Pat, was extremely knowledgable and took the time to explain every step of the process and his reasonings behind his professional decisions on my piercings. I felt completely comfortable during the whole appointment and was provided ample aftercare information as well as a request to return for checkup on my piercings in 2 weeks. Overall I really enjoyed my experience with Pat and the staff at Gypsy Hill Tattoo & Piercing and I would definitely recommend them to my friends.

I called the day they reopened from Covid to make an appointment to get my ears pierced. I was able to come in immediately. Everything was clean. My piercer Pat was great. He help me keep my cool and calm. He used everything new and clean and even gave me the marker he used to put the dots on my lobes since he will not be reusing them on others which is super. Today, I went in as a walk in with my son, (who was paying for my first ever tattoo). I was excited, nervous, & scared! I just had my earlobes pierced with Skelly this past weekend. She was so professional and made me feel so comfortable with the whole experience. She took the time to explain what she was doing, what to expect, and explained all after care instructions carefully. She made everything painless and was just a phenomenal piercer. Her work came out amazing and I am beyond happy with my earlobe piercings. I have also not experienced any problems or pain after the piercing.

Spyro did such a good job piercing my conch and picking out a piercing for my helix that would fit my personality and be elegant at the same time! I got to watch the whole process of changing the colors of titanium and was helped out right away. He was nice and friendly and made me feel very at home! Glad to have been able to visit from California and be treated so well.

I had my septum pierced at another place 6-7 months ago & it never stopped hurting. I’ve seen multiple piercers about it but always got “it’s fine.” Went in to Golden Falcon today. Not only were they SUPER nice, they were able to figure out what’s going on & give me the best option to help. Will be going back for all of my piercings!

I went to Gypsy Hill to get my ears re-pierced after closing. As soon as I walked in, Emity checked me in and helped me select earrings within my price point and style preference. Overall, the experience with Emity was fantastic. She is so knowledgable and was extremely communicative throughout the whole process. While she was sanitizing the earrings, she walked me through every step of the procedure. She explained how she would use each piece of equipment prior to starting and then walked me through each step again as she pierced my ears. I have had other piercings before, and have never felt so comfortable or aware of what was going on as I did with Emity. She also was extremely thorough when discussing aftercare for the piercing. I will make sure to request Emity for all my future piercings!

Pat was great and everyone was kind. Earlobe piercings went really well and everything was sterilized. Gave me a paper with all of the cleaning tips I needed and said I can contact anytime with questions. Dig these people, go to them.

I set up and paid for 2 back to back appointments for my daughter (ears) and I with a note saying I needed a piercing (nostril) and a shortening. Repeatedly said I am moving at the end of this week. They misread the instructions and bumped my appt. I call to see if I could get in to get my bar shortened and was told “it’s not a problem if it’s long”.I had a great experience with Pat first go around. It sucks to leave with a feeling like you aren’t wanted and the continued care of your piercing (we had a nice chat about it snagging and bleeding) isn’t a priority.I am waiting for my deposit refund through Venmo…

I came here with my 8 year old daughter to have her ears pierced. Pat was PHENOMENAL! He took the time to explain everything to her and was super patient when she was looking at all the different earring options. I was beyond pleased that he required my daughters consent to have her ears pierced (and of course my consent). I also set up an appointment for myself at the same time. I had my ears re-pierced after originally having them done with a piercing gun 30+ years ago. If you ever had the gun then you probably remember the pain and trauma it caused. Emity was SO AMAZING!! Needle piercing is so much better!! Very slight, but quick, discomfort and you’re done! Emity also focused on education and consent. I’m an RN and I know sterile procedure when I see and I SAW IT! Super clean studio and amazing staff. My 5 year old who was with us tends to be a bit anxious in new situations and she happily sat next to us without a care in the world. So, why should you come see Pat and Emity? 1. Super clean and friendly environment. 2. Amazing staff that are trained in their craft. 3. Communication happens the second you get here and that means no surprises. 4. Education and consent so everyone is on the same page. Don’t go somewhere else and have an untrained store employee pierce you. Come here for your piercings from the trained professionals. You won’t regret it!! Tip: if a child is being pierced check to see what documentation you will need to bring with you to prove that you are their legal guardian.

This place is super awesome! They explain the whole process before and as they do it which is super helpful :). They are clean and fast and they really take care of you! Pat did a helix piercing on me and he did a really great job. I highly recommend him and Gypsy Hill!

The neighborhood is beautiful. I seriously want to buy a house there. The shop is clean and brightly lit. Pat pierced my daughter’s septum. He was very patient with her. Pat explained everything he was going to do. After the procedure Pat allowed my daughter to sit until her adrenaline jitters calmed down. Pat even told us to call back in 6 weeks for a follow up appointment. That really reassured me about Pat. It’s not just about making money. He wants to make sure his clients are okay.

I decided to drive out further than I usually do for my tattoos, but this place is absolutely worth that. My artist was Tyler and he was professional as well as friendly and helpful. On top of that, the place is clean, and with Covid19 still an issue right now they were super serious about keeping things sanitized and keeping people 6ft apart. I highly recommend this shop and the artists there. I will be going back!

Kim did a great job on my piece! Having my first tattoo done I felt super comfortable and she explained everything that I need to know about aftercare. I had my helix pierced about 3 weeks ago here. After having one other piercing previously done at a shop in Wilmington, I cannot begin to express how much better this experience was! Skelly explained every single thing she was doing, and made sure I felt comfortable from start to finish. I went in with a friend to get my nose pierced. My friend got a new cartilage piercing. Pat was super professional, and explained everything to me before the piercing. He even gave me gloves so I could feel the sterilized piercing and how to handle it if it ever comes out. I appreciated being talked through everything as he was placing the piercing. Amazing place. The building itself is a little hard to get to, and the staircase that leads to it is a little intimidating (especially for someone who had never gotten a tattoo before, it’s like a path of no return.) but once I had gotten inside and talked to the staff, I was instantly at ease. Before I was getting my tattoo done and during, the staff were hanging out and joking around, and it felt as if I was getting a tattoo in the middle of a good friend group’s living room hangout. Some may call that unprofessional, but for me it really helped me relax. Speaking of staff, everyone is very friendly, funny, and talented. I received my tattoo from Jay-Rock, and he was very friendly, professional, and talented. My tattoo came out looking far better than I could have ever imagined, and I still look at it frequently in awe. I’ll be coming here again most definitely, and I’ll be asking for Jay-Rock again as well. Awesome place.

I went in to get 3 tattoos and was not able to decide on spot and boldness of tattos. Tyler was really patient and explained me about the needle sizes and how it would effect boldness of tattos. He also took his time and explained me clearly about the right spots for tatoos. He didnt rush me through the process and gave me the time I needed to think and decide. I ended up getting 2 tatoos done as I was not able to decide on 3rd. Coming to his work, he is so precise and I really liked the outcome. I would definitely go back for 3rd tattoo once I decide.

My tattoo artist was Jaq and she was absolutely phenomenal! I went as a walk-in and she scooped me up right away and got to talking on what I was looking for. She was very courteous, attentive and easygoing while talking to me about ways to make the tattoo idea I had personalized to ME. She was also great with discussing price ranges and how we could work within parameters I was comfortable with spending. The tattoo process is, of course, a bit uncomfortable (pain wise) but Jaq did fantastic and offered me opportunities for a break and kept light conversation with me which made the time go by quickly! This was my first time at Gypsy Hill and I will definitely be back!

I went to Gypsy Hill to get a double ear piercing in March, and it was super clean and efficient, and the piercings have healed well. I would have given 5 stars, except for the pricing, which was NOT clear or transparent. I was told it would be $20 per ear, which was fine, and I got the least expensive pair of earrings. But then Pitbull charged me a $40 fee for his experience, which would have been fine, except he said nothing about it beforehand, even when I asked for a price, and $100 was more than I was willing to pay for a simple double piercing.

Wonderful studio to work with. Very informative about the safety and care of piercings. All of the staff was friendly and Pat is an excellent piercer. He is calm and comforting. I would absolutely return to this studio !!

My friend and I came to get a few piercings. We were told they were running late and I asked how much longer they would end up taking, and the man told us half an hour. We ended up waiting outside for a long time before he bothered assisting us. In total, my friend and I waited for over an hour from our appointment time.When we picked out our jewelry, we quickly realized that the prices for the jewelry did not match with what they listed on their website. The funniest part of the experience was when the employee explained the prices and told us the $20 deposit we paid online was a discount on the total prices. On the website, it says that jewelry begins at $20. I will be clear to you how their pricing works, each earring on its own will be a price, so if you are getting it on both ears, multiply it by two. Then, they will charge you for a post to go on the back of the earring SEPARATELY. A single post is $20. If you get both ears, multiply by two again. The $20 minimum is inaccurate. Be prepared to pay much more than that.After we picked out our jewelry, we were invited to wait on the couch while they sanitized the piercing. The employee told us that he wanted another customer to come in, so we had to leave. He also told us that he would let us back in as soon as the customer chose his jewelry. We were a bit annoyed at this point since we waited for over half an hour outside previously. We understood though, so we complied and waited outside. After we watched the customer finish selecting jewelry, he did tell us to return inside, so we waited for the remaining half hour outside.While I waited for my friend to complete her piercing, one of the piercers came out and put back a piece of jewelry. The man at the front asked what happened and the piercer whispered something in his ear. The employee groaned and rolled his eyes. The piercer was also visibly annoyed. The employee was working on printing a form and began slammed closed the printer. I later asked my friend what happened. Apparently the customer decided to not get a piercing. From this point on, I became uncomfortable at the hostility of their staff.My actual piercing experience felt standard. The piercer explained what he would do and the aftercare process. I did not feel uncomfortable during the piercing and he was fairly informative.The employees treated my friend and I passive aggressively up until the payment, when they became much more friendly. They also do a weird thing where they provide an estimate of prices beforehand, only to give a completely different price afterwards. When I received my estimate, I was informed that it would cost $85 in total, and the actual cost would be within $5 more or less. The actual total ended up being $105 not including tip. I was pretty fed up at this point so I just paid, left a tip, and left as fast as possible.Overall, I really cannot recommend this piercing shop because you can find someplace much cheaper and friendly. I guess if you have time to kill and some extra money to waste you can come to Gypsy Hill.

Went in to get my first tattoo in ten years and Kim did an amazing job. I told her I wanted an owl on my chest (also gave her a few reference pics) and let Kim take it from there. My favorite piece by far. Kim also had the perfect playlist to fit where my head was at in all 3 sessions. Noah was awesome as well. All I can say is “TRUST YOUR ARTIST!” And you will be pleasantly surprised. No need for me to look for another tattoo artist as long as I am able to get ink from Kim.

Good job piercing my lobes by a guest artist, healed well, but what was the point of writing my pronouns on the intake form if I was just going to be misgendered right off the bat? I wasn’t going to say anything, but it’s still rubbing me the wrong way. Please make sure your artists are reading those forms. Getting misgendered the whole appointment from what’s meant to be a “no-judgement atmosphere” made for a bad experience when the one I had prior (small tattoo, quick and also healed well) had been very comfortable. Disappointed by this, please make efforts to do better!

Got my piercing with Mermaid and she was excellent. I had some issues with the ring, but when I went back, Spyro who is the new piercer was able to help me and find the right fit for me. I recently got my first tattoo at Gypsy Hill from the owner, Kimberly. For anyone like me (a Millennial) who wants a tattoo but cannot seem to win the battle against stereotypes or a conservative tattoos are bad upbringing, please keep reading. A few years ago, my cousin showed off her travel band tats at a family reunion. That was the first time I actually admitted to myself that a tattoo looked good on a person. From there on, I wanted one, but it took a few years before I could actually establish an idea for a tattoo with deeper meaning. When I walked into Gypsy Hill, I immediately felt at ease by the cleanliness of the space and the friendliness of the staff. They were encouraging, but not overbearing, kind, but not superficial. They helped alleviate the nerves that accompanied the moments before my first meeting with the needle and the ink. For my design (seen in the pictures below), I was worried the lines would appear crooked on my arm, especially since I had researched all the horror stories of tattoos gone wrong prior to my visit. However, Kim literally free handed lines on my arm that were so straight, I am still in awe of her work. She absolutely nailed it. And, while she was drawing the initial outline, she was blasting heavy metal, which admittedly scared me at first, until I realized the music put her in the zone. I suddenly had all the confidence in the world in her, and I think I even engaged in some head-banging myself. As she worked, the music became softer, but maintained a good tempo. Songs like Mr. Brightside seemed to fill the room at the perfect time, as if to help me through different phases of the trip. Thats kind of what it was like for me, a trip. I dont do hard drugs, but perhaps this experience was the closest thing to it. It was painful, yet spiritual. It was a journey that Ill remember on my arm for a lifetime. When it was done, I got up and gave Kim a hug. I dont know why, but I wanted to. I was somewhat overwhelmed with emotion. It was all just really cool. Anyway, I recommend this place to everyone, especially to anyone who is on the fence about his or her first tattoo. Have Kim do it, and you absolutely will not regret it.

Got a tattoo from Tyler- I was able to give him a vague list of features/ideas I wanted, and he sketched up an amazing design that incorporated everything I wanted, but also had that “artistic vision” that I didn’t have. Great shop overall, very clean & bright. Everyone there was incredibly nice, plus there was an excellent playlist playing in the background!

Short version: If youre thinking of getting a piercing here, DO IT. This spot is super professional, really clean, and has a great atmosphere and staff. They are the best of the best.Long version: Spyro did a fantastic job with piercing my right nostril to match my left. A few weeks after I got it (and after I delayed my follow-up due to being out of town) a bump started to form around the piercing. All the advice I read from piercers online was consistent, so I treated it at home with saline soaks but it got WAY worse. I went into the shop thinking I was probably going to have to let it close, but instead they cleaned it up and put new jewelry in to accommodate the swelling. The next day, it was already looking much better. Im now going in every day to let Spyro or Nick clean it, per their recommendation. Thats right, they are cleaning it for free every day because they want it to heal well. These guys care about what they do and they take care of their clients. I would recommend them to anyone without a second thought.

I had no idea that ear anatomy was so difficult, so thank goodness I went to him!
