Sam is an excellent artist to work with! She worked with me and came up with such an incredible design. She was responsive to feedback about it and made me feel comfortable and confident about what she was doing. The shop and was clean and friendly and I can’t wait to get another by her!

I go to this studio for basically every tattoo now, the staff is always an absolute joy to interact with, very pleasant and easy to work with. the artists all provide a sanitary, pleasant, comfortable experience. Ive always gotten immaculate work done with little to no need for touch-ups. have and would recommend to friends. the pieces pictured are by sam and jordyn, who both do an incredible job each time.

Extremely high quality tattoo shop. Second time going to them and definitely not the last! Sam is an amazing, creative artist. So detailed and delivered on everything I was looking for while creating a unique piece of art. Im a baby when it comes to tattoos but she is very intuitive in picking up when I’ve hit that “edge” while sitting for a tattoo and continues in a way that makes me feel comfortable to finish. Her and Jordan are very friendly and professional. 10/10 recommend

Sam was amazing! First time going to this studio and she made me feel very welcomed. We went with a different placement on the body than expected, but Sam gave me great advice on where she believed the design we made would look the best and flow best with the movement of my body. I had a tattoo done by Jordyn and it was BY FAR the best experience I have ever had. Jordyn was so incredibly patient with me and so understanding of any things I wanted to change with my tattoo. Jordyn went out of her way to make me feel comfortable in the environment, and as a trans man this was so appreciated. Jordyn talked me through the whole process and was very receptive to any changes I wanted to make. She took her time putting on the stencil to make sure the tattoo was perfectly placed and I could not be more grateful for that. I went into this appointment with high expectations based on her amazing instagram account and my expectations were exceeded by far! She took my sweet cat Steven and combined him with my favorite anime cat Sakamoto-San and I could not be more pleased. She also included some things that are special to Steven so you can tell a distinction between the two cats! Jordyn was also such a pleasure to talk to during the whole tattoo experience. She made sure both myself and my girlfriend were totally comfortable (my girlfriend also got an amazing tattoo from her). I can confidently say that I have never had such an amazing tattooing experience. Thank you Jordyn for being so patient and accommodating of me! I cannot wait to come back and get another tattoo done by her. The two pictures included are when the tattoo was first done and now a few months later with it fully healed.

I flew in twice from Chicago to get tattooed by Sam. I had seen her work on instagram and finally pulled the trigger to schedule with her. I love my tattoo. I have sensitive skin so she made sure to check in often and take necessary breaks. I plan on going back hopefully this year to get more of my arm done.

Literally my new favorite tattoo spot. Sam is super chill and extremely talented. Can’t wait to book my next appt. 10/10

I got my high nostrils pierced by Pat and I couldn’t have asked for a better experience. The level of care that him and Lizzie took to make sure the piercings came out even was 10/10. Pat explained every part of the process, making sure I was comfortable the whole time too. The shop was very nice and clean. They also have a wide selection of high quality jewelry to pick from. I will definitely be returning and recommending the shop to everyone I know. (Also while I haven’t been pierced by Lizzie yet, I can tell that with a mentor like Pat, she’ll do an excellent job too.)Edit 5/9: I got my lip pierced today by Lizzie and I can confirm that she did in fact do an excellent job. Honestly I can’t think of two better people to go to for all your piercing needs.

I had my first tattoo by Sam here and it was a great experience from start to finish. From the open consultation day through the actual appointment I felt at ease. Its a great space with great artists both talented and awesome to work with. I recommend it highly!

I do not think I have ever gone through the effort to leave a review for a place until now. I went in to buy a nose ring. Immediately when I entered, I felt uncomfortable. The employees just stared at me and ignored me. I awkwardly stood at the counter pretending to look at stuff. Eventually, another employee came out to the counter. He made it very obvious that I was a huge hassle for him. He measured my nose for the ring and then I went to pay for it. He charged me $170 for a 18k gold nose ring. I have bad anxiety and just wanted to leave as soon as possible so I just paid it so I could leave. I have never changed my nose ring before so I had mentioned that I would pay for them to change it for me. He didnt have time right then to do it so we agreed that I would come back later at a certain time. He also never clarified any details about the ring I was buying or even showed it to me. After I left, I thought about that whole interaction and how much I was charged. I decided to get a refund. I returned about 20 minutes after I had initially purchased the ring. I asked for the refund and the guy who had just sold it to me literally rolled his eyes, sighed, then looked at his other employee giving them a look. I have never been treated like that and I wouldnt even treat a customer I was annoyed with like that. Overall, it was an awful experience. Yes, its annoying I returned it but I felt very disrespected and uncomfortable with the way I was treated. My experience was the exact opposite of welcoming.

A fantastic experience from start to end. Their website said you can call to check for same-day availability, so I did and they were able to fit me in. I went in for a second lobe piercing and Pat was very knowledgeable and efficient. It felt very welcoming in there, and Pat seems to truly care about what he does, since he constantly assured me he would be there if I had any troubles down the line, plus to follow up after 6 weeks to make sure. I plan on returning for any future piercings!

Great experience! I came in for a stuck rook piercing and the piercer removed it painlessly! He took his time and diligently answered all of my questions. They were kind and the shop was so clean. I could smell disinfectant and I witnessed them clean everything before and after my appointment. Definitely will return for my next piercing

Love this shop! Sam is so creative, fun, and talented. Plus she’s kind, which is very helpful when you’re a needle wimp, like me. I gave her some vague ideas for a design and loved what she came up with. Love the location of the shop, too—really enjoyed watching the neighborhood dogs walk by the windows.

Went in to simply get my nose piercing changed (that was dine at another shop with the totally wrong jewelry). Lizzie helped me pick out beautiful new jewelry AND gave me my first helix piercing. Quick, painless, and she was very thorough with after-care instructions.

As a beauty professional I was very pleased with both the wonderful work Jordyn performed and the cleanliness of the studio ! I entered the studio with a warm welcome and the genuine enthusiasm from the staff. From that point, Jordyn took over and escorted me to her workstation and began explaining the steps that she would take to create my new tattoo. I had mentioned to her previously that I had never gotten a tattoo, So she took the next 10 or 15 minutes to explain the process of getting a tattoo and about how long it would take.as well as the self care that would be necessary once we were done. Our session Lasted about an hour and a 1/2.And when we were finished my beautiful new logo of the Moxy Fox salon was born... As soon as Jordyn finished up with her work she went directly back into explaining how important the after tattoo self care was. She then proceeded to clean and sanitize my new tattoo She wrapped up my visit with a goodie bag of self care products which is an offering I was not expecting, but happily took because I quickly learned that Jordyn was not being hyperbolic about it. She and the whole team congratulated me on my new tattoo and I left super pleased.I 100% recommend them for.their tattoo skills and theyre hygienic focusI WILL be returning for my next artistic expression!!

Recommend 100000x over and over. The staff is incredible, the shop is clean, and filled with knowledgeable artists. Sam is not only an amazing artist, but also an amazing person! She did a very large scale piece on my arm over the course of a few months and I’m complimented every single day on it. Absolutely my favorite tattoo I’ve ever gotten! I had the pleasure of getting my most recent tattoo at what is now Gold Hand Gallery. The shop itself is a clean, professional, and fun place to spend a few hours of tattooing. My tattoo is an original design drawn by and tattooed by Sam Castro and it could not have come out better! Sam is laid back, easy to talk to, and extremely talented. It was an awesome experience at Gold Hand and I’m already thinking about an unclaimed design that Sam has on her wall:)

I had the pleasure of Sam Castro designing and tattooing a beautiful piece on my leg. I came in with the rough idea of a botanical cat tattoo and she transformed that into a beautiful blend of cat, botanicals, and gemstones. The color is incredible; I have people ask if its real because its so vivid and springs off the skin, I love it so much. Sam was great to work with, the shop is comfortable and has a lot of light, and it was an all round good experience.

Went in the other day to change a lebrae jewelry and learned it was done improperly and it was wearing a hole in my lip. They helped me remove it and the jewelry in my Medusa. They changed it and then helped me remove a dermal which was really needing to be taken out. Barely hurt and came out super well. Both piercers helping me were super knowledgeable and kind. Usually people bat eyes about dermals and it wasn’t that way with them. Will be coming back to have my lebrae done properly. Thanks y’all! ☀️

Omg the best tattoo shop ever! Very professional and the atmosphere was awesome! I’m going back and quickly I want more stuff. I got a dermal and he made me feel so brave to get it and he had the softest hands I ever felt!

Pat was amazing and I would go back to him for any and all piercings! I got a genital piercing and felt very comfortable with Pat’s approach to privacy/modesty, education, and pain throughout the experience. I came to Sam with a previous tattoo from another shop. The tattoo was very poorly done and Sam was ready and willing to give it a total makeover! She is insanely talented and a cool down to earth person. Everyone at the shop seemed really cool too!

My 7 year old decided today was the day for getting ears pierced. We initially went to another shop who failed to mention over the phone that they didn’t have any jewelry suitable for a child. They sent us on a wild goose chase to get some at a store that wasn’t even open today. I’m quite glad we ended up at Gold Hand and under the care of Pat. I appreciate his flexibility in getting us in on short notice - my kiddo’s dad was in town and it meant a lot that we all got to share in this experience. I appreciated the cleanliness, the attention to detail and thorough explanations from start to finish. Really professional. I’ve got a very happy kid who didn’t even shed a tear! Got tattooed by Sam Castro in 2023 and it’s absolutely one of my favorite pieces! The shop was very friendly and welcoming! All the artists and piercers were phenomenal! Amazing place and staff!

Sam Castro is amazingly talented and creative! I had a few existing tattoos and wanted to add to them for a half sleeve. I trusted Sam completely with her design and color choices and the result was beyond my expectations! Her pieces were beautiful and vibrant and she even re-vamped my existing tattoos! I couldn’t be happier and I highly recommend her!I also got 2 piercings from Pat during one of my tattoo sessions. He has an amazing eye and lined up my piercings exactly where I wanted them! He is very personable and I felt relaxed and on good hands with him. I’ll definitely get any future piercings from him!

Came in to get pierced by Lizzie. She was extremely patient given my awkwardness and she made me feel VERY comfortable with her level of expertise. I got my eyebrow pierced for a steal and it was painless and SUPER FRICKIN CUTE! 10/10 experience and I plan on returning soon.

Getting pierced by Pat was a great experience. I received a genital piercing and am so pleased with how the piercing procedure went, as well as how it looks and feels. I’m a transwoman who has had a vulvaplasty, and had wanted a genital piercing for awhile. Given my identity, it’s hard to find places and people to work with who are knowledgeable as well as feel trustworthy and able to make me feel safe, especially in such a vulnerable situation. Pat checked all the boxes in professionalism, sanitary practices, and being a delight to talk to. I’d recommend Pat to others wanting to be pierced, especially others in similar situations to me.

I have a double conch that never healed right so I wanted to take one of them out. I went to a different place to have them remove it and they did a number not only on my $200 conch earring but they cut my ear. It was AWFUL.I came in to see Pat, he brought me in the back and I didn’t even feel him take off my conch. It was magic! He even was able to save my earring as well! Pat is like a gentle giant! I had such a great experience and I definitely recommend this dude. Clean studio too!

She has great attention to detail, she took my inspiration pics and put such a cool spin on them for a custom piece, and she made me feel as comfortable as you can getting tattooed lol. She also provided everything needed to take care of the tattoo and checked in on how I was healing after. Definitely will be back for another tattoo soon!

I recommend this place so highly. Pat has done all my piercings with such care and professionalism. He is kind and meticulous throughout the process. He has helped me with random needs like when I couldn’t get my nose jewelry back in or had questions about how my daith was healing. All my piercings from Pat have healed beautifully. This has been my place to go to for the past 2 years for piercings and I plan on continuing.I’ve have a total of 5 piercings all from Pat and it’s always consistently been worth every dollar.Piercings here are high quality, the piercers know what they’re doing, procedures are always appropriately done, and everything is sanitary.It’s beyond a 5/5 star experience for me, and I’d rate it higher if I could.

Not only is the the most unpretentious tattoo and piercing place Ive ever been to, every single person is kind and knowledgeable. Pat pierced my daughters nose a couple of years ago and based on that experience alone made me a customer for life. Last week I got my nose pierced by Pat and once again, he (and the staff) did not disappoint. Lizzie picked out the perfect jewelry for me when I was unsure of which one to get. She also answered all of my (sometimes silly) questions, and gave me all of the information I needed during and after my piercing. Look no further, you found your piercer!

Just got my 9th piercing from Pat, who I have been travelling far and wide for for the past 4 years. I have not and will not go to another piercer because he is the best of the best. Clean, efficient, and always wants the absolute best for his customers.

Pat was extremely helpful and patient throughout the choosing of the jewelry process as well as with recommendations. I initially chose to get my daith pierced but on realizing that I work in healthcare he recommended something else due to the constant use of stethoscopes and increased risk for irritation and infection.I ended up getting my forward helix with a really cool piece of jewelry and I absolutely love it.

I found Pat Ronning through my bestie who had her septum done by him, she had nothing but great things to say about her experience. Of course when I decided on getting both nostrils pierced I went to him. BEST experience with piercings I’ve had. I have had my septum, tongue, lip, and conch done all by different people in tattoo/piercing studios but Pat is top tier and by far the most professional! He took real time to measure to insure they were as perfectly symmetrical as possible. He even had two other pros in the shop to check it before he went ahead with the the actual piercing. Overall 10/10 would get pierced by him again.

Interacted with an unwelcoming/condescending staff member that made me feel like I was a bother. Just wanted a hoop for my nose piercing. They will charge an extra $15 to have staff insert it. I skipped this charge and put it in at home, immediately realized the hoop was way too large (later confirmed by a professional piercer at another shop). Called back and they wouldn’t let me return it because I didn’t pay for staff put it in.. I won’t be going back.

I was tattooed by Sam last month and I cannot recommend her enough. I first attended one of their open houses where I was able to talk to Sam about my tattoo idea. The shop is nestled in a cute neighborhood with plenty of shop parking. I didnt bring a +1 but the shop has several sitting areas so I am sure you could bring someone if that makes you more comfortable. The shop also is woman-owned and has all women tattoo artists.Sam was wonderful! I have other artwork on my arm so she took the time to ensure the new piece worked with my existing work and also my anatomy. Her prices are reasonable given her 10+ years of tattooing experience and I enjoyed talking to Sam as I was getting tattooed. The tattoo took about 3 hours and we took 2-3 breaks. After the appointment, she gave me a care package that included tattoo moisturizing cream and wash from Ikonik. Overall, I would love to come back to cover more of my arm!The photos attached show my tattoo the day of the appointment (photo with the brick wall behind me) and then 3 weeks later as it has been healing beautifully.
