I couldn’t have been happier! Chriz did an incredible job. Extremely professional. This was my first tattoo. He made me feel at ease, confident in the design, in the process, and the execution. Highly recommend this place. If you’re doing something so permanent you should do your research and choose legitimate professionals and Studio 819 is a wise choice. Also, as someone who loves guns, the fact that they too love them, is a good bonus!

My very first tatoo ever! They did an amazing job. They even let me be a big baby and make faces and complain. Lol. Im very happy with my beautiful dragon fly! Its healing perfectly and is honestly almost completely healed just over a week later. Idk if its normal or not, but I had very little soreness and no scabbing, just some mild peeling. Overall Im very happy with it and my whole experience including the price! Very reasonable.

If youre looking for a solid tatt shop with solid artists that do some great work, I suggest stopping by here. I had my wedding ring tattoo done here and both the guys there are up front, even though they didnt have anyone working the front counter 😆 I highly recommend stopping by and getting work done, especially since the line work is clean a.f.

The husband and I were walk-ins today. The service was impeccable! Marcus did my tattoo and then my husbands. He answered all of our questions. Both of the other tattoo artists were professional and friendly. The salon was clean and comfortable, and the prices were fair per the design and size. Highly recommend Studio 819!! The hubs and I plan on being repeat business!!

Wonderful atmosphere. Very talented guys. Kind to me. I laughed. Made me feel like i am Somebody. Did the best work I have ever had. They say whats on their minds. True honesty. They also give back to their community.

Went to Alley Cat to get a tattoo I sketched just to be told it wasn’t possible where I wanted, dude there took me on a rabbit trail as to why I couldn’t get it and was very condescending. I went to get a second opinion here, these guys automatically had a more welcoming environment. I showed my artist (Marcus), “where and how big”.I got the tattoo I wanted and it was executed. I highly recommend this place over others, especially Alley cat if you don’t wanna stand there listening to BS for 10 mins just to leave with nothing. Overall very chill dudes, they get the job done.

Ive had three tattoos done by Jay at Studio 819 and he is SO great. Hes got the BEST dad jokes, hes funny and professional. He does such a great job. He puts up with me and my friends when we decide we want a spur-of-the-moment tattoo and theyve all come out amazing. My most recent tattoo was a fly and he did such a great job, its gotten so many compliments. Prices are great, the shop is always neat and clean, and I recommend both Jay and the shop to anyone asking for a local artist.

This Studio is the best I have ever been to. It’s a clean and comfortable environment and you know you’re getting good artwork as soon as you walk in. All of the artists are so professional and talented! Jay Hutton does all of my tattoos and every single time he goes above and beyond to make it better than I could have ever imagined. He is extremely talented and is very good at working with you on what you want. I wouldn’t trust any other studio than this one after going to them. Can’t wait to go back to add to my tattoo collection!

I received my first tattoo ever from Jay September of 2019. I have since been back three times. I live in Indiana which is a 5+ hour drive from where I live to the shop. Jay is very good with the work he does and I would much rather make the drive then go to anyone else. If your thinking about getting a tattoo I definitely recommend this shop and Jay.

This was my First tattoo and Crizo did a fantastic job, from taking a basic design and adding personal changes to what I wanted to being efficient, calm and not minding my chatter while he was working. The wait for my appointment was worth is and speaks volumes for the artist.... meaning he is in high demand.

Jay is an amazing artist, I will definitely keep coming back to him. He does phenomenal work and genuinely cares about his work and his clients happiness. He took time to get to know the piece and worked hard to make sure the colors and the look were the as close as they could be to the art he was recreating. Truly a wonderful experience.

This shop is where you want to go for a great tattoo! All 3 artists are fabulous but my artists is Jay! He is fabulous at coming up with stuff you will love and its one of a kind. No matter how big or small he is always up for a challenge and has always came out above and beyond my expectations!

Mike was absolutely amazing, he did it in such a quick time but still did such a great and detailed job!! He made me laugh the whole time and is such a great guy to go to !! Would recommend this shop to anyone, the place is clean and the employees are easy to talk to. I had the chance to get a tat from Jay today and my daughter has gotten 2 from him and he was great all 3 times. He talked to her calmed her down and made her laugh even though she was nervous. My family took a family vacation to Florida from Indiana. On the way back my husband decided he wanted to get a tattoo, his very first tattoo ever. We stopped in and saw Jay Hutton at studio 819. Jay did an amazing job and made my husband feel very comfortable. The studio was very clean and had a great atmosphere. These guys are great. Multiple talented tattoo artists are on site and willing to help you any way they can. I have had multiple tattoos done here, and I will never go anywhere else again. I can not say enough good things about Studio 819. My first experience with Mike was a small double heart tattoo on my left hand. Its cheesy to some but sentimental to me as it represents my two daughters. Mike was very professional and offered advice on color and his own little added touches. My oldest daughter was with me when I got the tattoo and fell in love with the end result.Towards the end of 2018 our oldest daughter turned 18 and wanted to get a small tattoo on her wrist. When we went to see Mike he was both professional and kind to her and answered all of her questions. This girl is afraid to even look at a needle, talk about blood or veins. It literally makes her skin crawl. She was SO excited when Mike quoted her the price and we made the appointment. Knowing my daughter I told her we would get matching tattoos IF she didnt chicken out. We ended up getting matching tattoos in the same spot on our wrist. Another great experience.Im attaching a photo of the third tattoo Mike did just last week. It is a cover-up of a very old and faded dandelion. It was yellow and green and black. A real dandelion and not the “standard” dandelion weeds you see everywhere. I am a military brat and it meant a lot to me but was old and faded. I knew it would be a difficult piece to cover-up but Mike did another fantastic job. It did hurt to set through the session but Mike and the guys kept me laughing and talking which helped a great deal.One thing I loved is how cool they were with my kids. They treated me, my husband and our teen girls with respect. Its a tattoo parlor and language is not the same as it would be in a church or library NOR should it be expected to be. When my oldest had questions and showed concern about the pain he was honest. He was a rock star with her. That speaks volumes...beyond volumes.I could go on but I know you get the point. Thanks, guys.

Studio 819 is the best! I walked in wanting a very unique tattoo and Jay gave me just that. He does amazing work and is fun and professional. He works with you on what you are looking for and makes your idea an awesome tattoo. I will be coming to him for the rest of my tattoos.

Mike has always treated me like a family member for the past 8 years Ive been going to his shop. He always makes me a priority and makes every tattoo I want exactly how we plan it. Hes definitely a class act with stellar line work and beautiful eye catching art. His shading and eye to detail makes him one of the top artists in the state. His partner Crizo has an eye for creative beautiful tattoos. They can customize just the way you want with a little twist of their own. Mike does an excellent job. I got my first and now second tattoo from him. Hes not shy about letting me know if my idea wont look good (this is excellent because he knows tattoos), and he offers suggests to make sure the ink looks good not only now but ten years from now.

This place is the place you need to go if your looking for a tattoo. Ask for Jae. He does awesome work and isn’t afraid to tell you what will or won’t look right Bc he wants it to be perfect for you. All the guys in the shop are friendly and they also do great work. But Jae has always done my tattoos and will continue to do so. Hit him up on face book or go in and ask for him and talk with him.

I am 49 and this was my first tattoo to say I was nervous is an understatement. I am terrified of needles and blood. A friend of mine recommend Jay and I reached out to him. When I say I reached out I mean numerous times with so many questions. He always replied and assured me I would be fine that we would work through it. When I arrived I changed my mind on design and he told me the truth he didnt think what I picked out would work then he came up with an idea that I loved. The whole process of it was totally different than what I was expecting pain was not near what I was thinking. The atmosphere was great go see Jay he will take care of you.

Mike and the guys are some of the most professional and clean artists I have been around. I got a touch up from them as well as a new piece. Outstanding work years later. I encourage all my friends in the Nashville and Knoxville areas to venture over to their shop for top of the line ink!

I switched to 819 from another local shop after seeing the work Jay did on my friend! I started with a simple friday the 13th special tattoo just to get a feel for the shop and I instantly fell in love with the atmosphere and was amazed by the talent of the artists. Jay has now done 3 tattoos on me, and I know I’ll go back for more! He has the easiest hand of anyone who has tattooed me before, and he’s great to talk to while getting a needled jabbed in my skin. he really lightens the mood.. and also, can’t forget to mention the awesome music taste and his jack shelf. don’t know which impressed me more, but i guess i’ll stick with saying the artwork. Can’t wait to get tattooed at this shop again.

Been going to Jay since I moved to Cookeville in 2016. Followed him to Studio 819 and couldnt be happier with all the work Ive received in the last 3 years. Its a great and easy going environment with 3 incredibly talented artist that can all do a variety of styles to help master what youre wanting.

Excellent place to get a tattoo! Sanitary environment and friendly, talented artists. I dont have any tattoos from Crizo or Mike, but Ive seen some of their work and they are awesome at the trade! Fred (Derf) is the only artist thats tattooed me and I absolutely love his work! He has many years of experience and he works very well out of his element! He did my first tattoo, a horse shoe with eagle feathers on my ribs, about a year and a half ago and it still looks like fresh ink! He did two other small pieces on me, one all white ink and one red/black and they are both as vibrant as the day he laid the ink on me. He did another two pieces on me last night, the lettering is beautiful and I love my black and grey chrome wrench tattoo on my arm. Most definitely coming back to get my ratfink themed sleeve started. I highly recommend this place!

We moved here from out of state and have been to almost every shop in the area trying to find the best. I went in looking for someone to bounce ideas off of after having a bad experience at another chip in town. Jay was totally awesome, drew something that day and tattooed that evening. Amazing experience overall and will definitely be going back.

Not only do they provide the best artists and ink in the area, these guys are hilarious. I could just go hang out and listen to them for entertainment. Jeremy Ryan did my work and I get asked on a daily basis who does my ink. These guys are worth the wait and the drive for me. TOP SHELF!

When asking about a cover up the artist at the counter said that the tattoo Ive had for two years was too dark to have cover. He then said that the only thing that would be decent would be just a black circle. I would not recommend ever using this parlor for coverups ever.

Wow! My husband has had several tatoos over the years... this last one is by far the best one yet! Not only is the color and detail awesome (its a huge cross down his back and large letters across his shoulders),it has looked this good from the very first day. ... the color saturation is bright and clear and the design (designed by the owner/tatoo artist) is absolutly awesome! Could not be happier with the design, the service, and the interactions with those in the shop. Cannot wait to go back .. but have to make an appointment, an artist this good is in high demand!

My sister got her and I matching heart tattoos on the inside of our pinky fingers for my birthday back in October. We were super nervous because it was my sisters first tattoo and the guy said it would literally take 2 minutes including the cleaning, deciding the size, and getting the actually tattoo. He was right. It took us 2 minutes a piece. The guy warned us that the ink might not take because of the placement of the tattoo but that we had free 6 month touchups. I live in South Dakota because my fiancé is stationed there for the military. The soonest I could get back home was in December for Christmas and I wont be able to get back to TN until April/May, therefore my free touchup period will have ended. Also, my family lives an hour away from Cookeville and my time was very limited while I was home and it was the only time I could go and get it done. My sister and I went back to get them touched up while I was in town and the guy refused to do it. We figured it would have taken 30 seconds a piece to touch them up because there were just some tiny spots that needed to be filled. Now, when I say this guy was rude, it is an understatement. He was a flat out jerk. He said he had an appointment in 15 minutes and how could we possibly think that we could just walk in? I told him I lived in South Dakota and that when he first did it, it took him less than 5 minutes to do both. He refused AND made us feel so stupid for just walking in even though it is on their Facebook that walk ins are welcome! He did this in front of everyone in the tattoo place which was super embarrassing to us. Do NOT go here. I cant believe what a jerk this guy was. And, not to mention, we tipped him $20 a piece for a tattoo that fits inside of our pinkys. He made $40 in 4 minutes and we were willing to give him just as much for literally 1 minute of his time to touch them up. His tattoos are good, but if you are looking for someone that will respect you and treat you like a paying customer and not scum on the bottom of his shoe, do not go here.And to reply to your response, If you would have said that in a nice and respectful way then there would not have been an issue. I did not ask you to make your appointment wait nor would I expect you to. You handled it very unprofessionally and very rudely. And, like I said above, my free touchup period will be over by the next time I am back in TN.

Best place to get any tattoo work done, for sure! I recommend everyone to go to studio 819. I wont go to any other shop but theirs. Great atmosphere, friendly staff. Just all around a cool, great place to be in!

The shop was very clean and the guys were very friendly. But I will never go back to the artist Fred (derf) again. Due to the fact that he went to deep on my black shading on my butterfly on the top of my foot. He went so deep that he killed the tissue and the skin, so the result is that my foot in that place is infected and I will loose the skin that he went to deep on. Im on 2 antibiotics and pain killers. Im just glad that I went to the hospital in time or I would of lost my foot. Also my boyfriend went in the had one of his redone and the white shading on his was also to deep. And we caught his in time so it didnt get infected, but it is raised and scared.
