Everyone there is always super awesome to work with. I do have to do a special shout out for my girl Hannah who is my forever artist! She always takes care of me and gives me exactly what I’m looking for! She is creative, talented and extremely kind and professional! She is worth every penny!
Angle did an amazing job piercing my 3 month old daughter’s ears! She was very patient and detail oriented. She took her time and did such an amazing job. I’d highly recommend!!
Do not recommend for piercings!! I got a helix piercing here, and my ear reacted poorly to the metal. They also only pierce with silver colored jewelry, no other options. Definitely not real silver/stainless steel jewelry. I went in to have it removed, to which they refused because it was inflamed. It was inflamed because I’m allergic to the metal, so I could never get it healed to the point that they would remove it. I went to splash of color and they were able to remove it and replace it with a solid gold piercing that does not inflame my ear. Simple & easy, I don’t understand why ink and needle couldn’t do that. If you want high quality jewelry, go to Splash of Color.
I went to Ink and Needle East last August to get my triples pierced. I met with a piercer, she placed the dots (which me and a friend confirmed that they were even), and once she used the needle, they were then uneven. A few months later after diligent cleaning (using the spray they made me buy) they both got infected and swelled. After almost a year, I’ve decided to let my triples close as they’re still swollen and didn’t get better. I never had any problems with my first or doubles, so this was saddening to me. I also paid about $120 for this service, which I believe is extremely overpriced for lobe piercings. I would not recommend ink and needle East to anyone looking for quality piercings.
Angel went above and beyond, explained things so thoroughly and really showed her passion for the industry every minute we were there. True talent at this place and very welcoming. The seats are always warm as the vents run under them leaving you with a cozy feeling as you wait. I truly enjoyed my experience here and my gf who had her nose pierced felt very calm and happy the whole time. 10/10 recommend this place and her! Thank you
Chelsea touched up out best friend tattoos for my Teo best firends and I. She did them for us last may and we love them getting them touched up brought them back to life. Chelsea is a great artist to work with. The shop atmosphere is welcoming and laid back.
Ali (tattoo artist) completely ruined my tattoo. I have to pay the penalty to get a sleeve tattoo removed because she couldn’t tell me she wasn’t ready for that kind of work. I don’t recommend all they care about is money. What a joke. Oh and here’s a photo! She refused to fix it but at this point it can’t be fixed.
“Mo” or Morgann does not stand by her work. She did a terrible job on one of my tattoos. She is now refusing to do the touch up and told me I am banned from seeing anyone else at the shop to get it done too. Giving zero stars wasn’t an option so they got one.
Moya was great! The tattoos turned out beautifully & the experience was amazing. I went for my 1st tattoo & my daughter got her second. We had so much fun especially chatting with Moya while she created her art!
Great experience with our tattoos this evening.Ally did a great job explaining the process to my daughter- her first tattoo! And she was very friendly and professional.Thank you!
Ive been going to Ink and Needle East for a little over a year now. Solomon has done a PHENOMENAL job working with me creating a custom sleeve and has started one on my wife that will compliment it. Ive had other ideas that he encouraged that I do other things and have been pleased with his advice and very happy with the end result. His aftercare techniques are solid, never have an issue with irritated skin or infection; the healing process overall is GREATLY shortened. Solomon has also been working on a large portrait back piece for my wife which we are both very pleased with, his color saturation, shading, and line work are all outstanding. Hes a great guy, always has something to talk about and will keep you entertained and your mind off the work hes doing.I have also been pierced 5 times, 3 from Roxy and 2 from Dan. All were quick, clean, and professional with aftercare covered to the smallest detail and an open offer to come back if anything should not go to plan. Again, great people to work with, always friendly and Im more than happy to travel the 50-ish miles to get work done by them.
Angel did my daughters ear Piercings and she did amazing! She explained everything I needed to know ECT. Nice and clean with great customer service! Would definitely go again and also recommend!!
Chay did an amazing job! Very down to earth and caring artist. His attention to detail and line work is phenomenal and passion for his work is amazing. Will definitely be coming back for more!!
Ally is the greatest. She did my Daughters first and second tattoos. Did an amazing job. Ally is an icon!!!
From the moment I walked in the door the lady looked at me with judgement in her eyes. I state I only want a small neck tattoo with (95 ) symbolic to my birth year. This artist matt reversed it to look (95) on my neck. He then applies a sticky clear wrap over my newly done work and tells me to keep it on for a day. Welp as I took it off my skin became red and irritated. After it healed and this being 3 months old the whole tattoo is fading already! This is a tattoo nightmare and this shop is Frankensteins castle.
I highly recommend this place! I had my helix done 3 days ago, and I’m super impressed with it. Already not very painful to the touch and swelling and redness is significantly better. I had the same piercing done in the other ear a few years ago, it took months to heal and was painful the whole time. Took a couple of years to gain the courage to do it again after that experience, but I couldn’t be happier with it.
I went in for a walk in and they got me in quick! Forester did a quote on my ribs and it turned out amazing!!! He has amazing work! He’s also very personable & he’s talks you through the process! & prices are reasonable. Staff is very friendly as well!
Solomon is great for tattoos and Roxy is great for piercings. Good prices, clean shop. Would highly recommend!
Ive gotten 3 piercings and a tattoo from this business and Im very happy with the way they go about their business. Angel, the piercer, is very friendly, informative, and takes all the steps to make the piercing process as quick and easy as possible. I work very close by the shop and so every time Ive gotten a piercing here it was on a whim, walking in after/before work, and honestly I feel like Angel is a hidden gem in the business--shes the best.Ive also gotten a tattoo, though those are obviously much less compatible with my walk-in strategy, so I booked an appointment a few days out with the first artist who had an opening, who, if I remember correctly, was relatively fresh from her apprenticeship. I had hoped to get 2 that day, but thankfully the artist (I dont remember her name) straightforwardly told me that she wasnt confident that she could accurately trace the second design I had brought in. That kind of honesty is appreciated. :)Overall, Ive had good experiences there, and every service Ive gotten has healed perfectly.
I got my tragus done about a month ago and it’s stunning! My piercer was a super sweet lady named angel, I’d 10/10 recommend her. So far my piercing has healed amazing and I couldn’t be happier! I paid about $90 for the piercing, cleaning solution, and different jewelry, definitely worth the price :)
I went in for a tattoo with Moya, a floral arrangement with script under it. Everything from going in to vet artists to booking the appointment to showing up the day of, went smooth as possible and communicating with both her & the shop itself was very easy. She did gorgeous work on my tattoo and it was very affordable for a slightly bigger piece. She was very knowledgeable in letting me know what to do for aftercare and was very considerate in checking on me throughout the process that I was okay. I enjoyed my experience and look forward to coming back again for any future tattoos & piercings!
I loved going here everyone was super nice and welcoming. I got an industrial pericing and they talked me through what was happening the whole time. It was 80$ and they have cleaner you can buy to take care of it. They explained after care and encouraged to call back and ask questions if we had any.
Gotten many tattoos here, many favorites. Always reasonably priced, great work, good environment imo. Ive been with Forester, Ally, and Hannah but Im sure theyre all good.
Got a small face tattoo and Im absolutely in love💙💜💙 with it. I was nervous, but Alley made me feel confident and gave me a good boost of courage😉.. She was extremely light handed when she was working on my face. I love the tattoo! Thank you Ink and Needle💯 and especially Alley,❤️🤍❤️ you did a wonderful job. Thanks girly 😊
Horrible Customer Service ! Doesn’t give $150 dollar deposit back after I wanted to reschedule because of an unexpected death in family ! Told me I would loose my deposit then have to pay another one. Take your money elsewhere! Splash of color is much better!
Moya has done 2 of my 11 tattoos and she’s been my fave artist to work with. She’s incredibly friendly and a joy to be around. She’s also so talented. Both times, I’ve had ideas that she helped me understand what the pros and cons of placement or size etc from an artists perspective would be and she has been spot on both times. I have been very happy with her work. I’ve had lots of compliments on how clean my lines are on my first one and since my second one is brand new, no one really has seen it but I’m excited to show it off. Will be back to see Moya, she does not disappoint!
Morgan did an amazing job! I cant wait till its all healed 🥰
First time, my appointment was cancelled and I missed the call letting me know but they did not leave a voicemail. I tried calling back the next morning but no one picked up. Went to my appointment and they tell me my appointment was cancelled and they were late so that’s why they didn’t pick up. Thankfully, I lived close so it wasn’t that big of a deal. I show up to my appointment and my artist was 40 minutes late. Very frustrating. But they were nice and did a very good job. I would recommend if you want a good tattoo but there are faults.
Angel did a great job on my 3 year olds ears. She explained everything, and was so patient with her. My daughter loves her new piercing.
I came here to get a tattoo on Friday 8/13. My artist was Chay and he did a fantastic job! A few days in advance I had a mini consultation with him and he gave me a price quote, which was exactly what he charged me on the day of the service! The minute I walked into the shop, I was very impressed with the cleanliness of the facility. The woman at the front desk also chatted with me while Chay got ready to tattoo me. He drew up my design (a lilac branch) on the spot which I thought was really cool! It was so cool that he took my thoughts and ideas and completely exceeded my expectations. I will definitely come back, and recommend that everyone uses Ink & Needle!!
Angel was awesome, she took great care of me. She didnt rush my nose piercing or my second lobe ear piercing, even when I was indecisive about precise locarion of piercing. She explained everything so that I was well informed.
The people were so nice and our piercer angel was very good and she made our experience stress free and easy. She didnt make us feel like just another client we felt very welcome there. Will definitely go back!
I went here to get a Vertical Hood Piercing done. Piercer was very gentle and did not hurt me at all. Ladies I recommend this place if youre interested in getting this type of body piercing. I felt very comfortable and relaxed as if I was at home.
They released my personal information to an outside party for the sole purpose of harassing me after I voiced my negative feedback. the inability to take criticism is one thing, but releasing personal information for malicious intent is another.
I’ve recommended ink and needle east many times in the past, but those days are over. My forward helix piercing just healed yesterday, so I went in to get the silver stud changed to a diamond. The piercer wasn’t in for a family emergency, so I bought a diamond stud and was told to come back later. When I got home, I realized the stud was a lot shorter than the silver stud I had in and I was concerned that it wouldn’t stay in, and when I came back four hours later when the piercer, Espirenza, was back, I expressed my concern to her. She said “uh, it should be fine.” Comforting. When she put the new stud in, I trusted her and thought it would be fine. Everything seemed fine, but a few hours later when I got home, the ball fell out and I couldn’t get it back on. The shop had just closed, so I figured I’d go in the next day to have them put my old stud back in. When I get there, I’m waiting in the lobby for 10 minutes in a seemingly empty store. The receptionist finally comes up, and I explain the situation to her. She says “oh. When we’re you in again?” I say yesterday, twice, and mention that she helped me both times. She now tells me the piercer isn’t in because she’s moving. So at this point I ask if I can get my money back for the earring that I bought from them that was too small, and she says no. She offers to call the piercer to have her come in, but says it’ll be a wait IF she can even come in. So I leave. The experience was completely disappointing and I definitely won’t be back. Terrible customer service.
Very good atmosphere great attitude. The girl that does piercings is awesome, even better prices. Their new Young tattoo artist Brittany, did a badass job and she will continue to get better
Ink and Needle in East Lansing has never let me down, but Roxys exceptional demeanor and kindness to clients is really what made me write this review. She always keeps it real and has been the most painless piercer Ive been to. I will probably never want anyone else to do any of my piercings after seeing how great of a piercer she is, and how well maintained and clean and professional this East Lansing location is. I loved everything about all my experiences here.
I went to Ink and Needle for the first time based on the awesome reviews. I went in to get a nipple piercing and everyone there was really cool and it was a super clean space. Roxy did the piercing and she was really good at explaining the process and the cleaning of the piercing and I felt really comfortable about it. Definitely would go back and also highly recommend
I had my nose pierced here a few months ago, and Im happy with the results. However, I would not recommend buying the cleaning solution they suggest. I purchased it because the piercer talked it up (and this is only my second piercing ever, so Im naïve/ignorant), but I believe the solution caused a keloid to form. I used the solution four times a day as recommended. A few days after I stopped using the solution, the keloid went away. According to friends of mine whove gotten piercings, its odd for piercers to suggest/sell anything besides saline/salt water, so it seemed kind of scammy to me. The solution also has essential oils, which are bad to even put in skin care, probably worse to apply directly to a wound. So ya, piercer was nice and the woman at the front was cool too, no complaints there, I just dont know about the cleaning solution they sell there.
I have been pierced here a few times, once at the west location. The west location pierced my septum in the wrong spot and my nose ended up being swollen for weeks so I removed it. I got my septum re pierced at the east location and the person who pierced it pierced it slightly higher up but I still feel it’s in the incorrect spot. I can’t flip it up if I wanted to and it’s still painful from time to time even though it has been months since I got it done. I got my cartilage pierced here as well, the same woman who pierced my nose the second time pierced my ear and didn’t let me choose jewelry and did it with a hoop. This was also months ago and it has keloids, still hurts, and will not heal. I clean all of my piercings properly. I will not be coming back to this location again.
DO NOT GET PIERCED HERE. If I could give them 0 stars I would. Worst experience ever. Originally tried to pierce my cartilage with a hoop, but then had to take it out and RE do it with a stud (I did not pick either one). A couple months go by it is still painful, infected and the cheap jewelry they used came out in the middle of the night and now has closed. Complete waste of money. I don’t ever leave reviews for places, but I don’t want anyone wasting their money here. I have several other piercings that have never gotten like this. My friend who also got pierced the day I did is having the same issues. Trust the reviews!
Great tattoos, way less expensive than splash of color. Ally is the best tattoo artist. I’ve also been pieced by hope many times and she’s terrific.
The experience my friends and I had here was absolutely horrible. The staff was extremely disrespectful from the moment we walked in the door, and we were made to feel uncomfortable right away. From there we showed what we wanted and were given a price and time that the tattoo would take... both of which were unbelievably inaccurate and unreasonable. Being young college girls, they attempted to take advantage of us and what they thought was a “lack of knowledge” regarding tattoos, even though I have been tattooed in the past and we had already been quoted on the tattoo we were asking about. They gave a $60 increase on the price we had previously been quoted as well as stating that it would take 25+ minutes more than it actually would. The fact that they tried to take advantage of us is disgusting and I HIGHLY discourage anyone from going here, especially if you are a young woman. If I could give no stars I would. Do not waste your time going here.
I called to make an appointment on Tuesday and was told we could just walk in on Sunday. My girls were so excited. We got there and the receptionist was rude. She said Im assuming you have their birth certificates? I told her I was not told we needed them. She said well I tell everyone that. I was so upset. Not that we needed it but that we werent told to bring it. It was a wasted trip and then she was so rude about it. We made plans to go else where. I would not recommend this place.
Ally did amazing work on my half sleeve, I had the design in mind for over 3 years before I got it done and I couldnt have chose a better place for it
Poor customer service, went back to the shop because my ear was very swollen a week after my cartilage piercing. When I expressed concern that it wasnt normal irritation I was told to go to another shop. I did. They answered all of my questions politely and gave me better aftercare instructions. Will not be returning.
This place has very poor customer service. I had scheduled an appointment for two people to get a tattoo then when we got there we were told that they did not have time to do them. They gave us prices that were way too high and I know this because I have a few tattoos myself and have asked people who have similar things to what I wanted. My friend and I did not feel welcome here at all and she had an uncomfortable situation with Solomon. Will not be going here again and will stick to going to ink and needle west.
My friend and I scheduled to get an appointment for Wednesday. We then received a call on Wednesday asking if we could come in 30 minutes earlier, which we did. When arriving the tattoo artists said oh its two of you? We had put down a deposit for 2 people. Then when the tattoo artists asked what we were getting and we explained he proceeded to tell us you know i dont have that much time Considering we came in 30 minutes before our appointment, he should have had plenty of time. When we had questions concerning the tattoo and his responses were very vague and almost didnt answer any of our questions. He was also not very friendly. I would not recommend this shop to anyone.
Absolute warm vibe and chill atmosphere. Props to my artist CHAY! He did great. I cant wait to show it off. I personally will be back. Also props to MOYA! What a awesome tribal hand tattoo! He loves it.Highly recommend both artist. Thank you so much Ink & Needle East!
I had my nose pierced in my hometown about 8 months ago. I had a stud and wanted a hoop. I went here to get a hoop and they gave me one way too large for the current piercing’s hole without even asking me what size or type I would like. I bled and cried, neither of which happened during my original piercing. Definitely not happy. Now I have a way bigger hole in my nose than ever intended and I asked them to stop and they just told me it was normal and my fault for not taking care of my piercing in the first place, which I did...?
HERES THE SHORT STORY IF YOU ARENT A BIG READER:1) showed up for original appointment and was told the artist would not be showing up to work that day. I then rescheduled2) Show up for second appointment. I was the very first client of the day and still had to wait over an hour to even be called back.3) I was given what Ive determined to be awful, dangerous advice regarding the aftercare of my tattoo.4) I understand tattoos are expensive. But Im confident I was absolutely taken advantage of regarding price. A guy I know got a tattoo here with the exact same design I got, and about the same size. he paid 80, I paid 150.IF YOU WANT THE DETAILS:I went to Ink&Needle for my first tattoo based on its glowing online reviews and recommendations from friends. Everyone seems to have a great experience here, but after mine, 10/10 would never get a tattoo here again.I originally had an appointment with Bryce. When I showed up for my appointment, the staff seemed confused, and I was told that Bryce was having family related issues and would not be coming in to work that day. I understand if the artist had serious issues and had to cancel, but the shop is almost half an hour away from my house. Why did I provide my phone number if they wont use it to cancel my appointment if the artist is unavailable? I then changed my appointment for a later date with Solomon instead.Although the shop opens at 1:00, I was informed that the artists dont tend to take appointments until 1:30 so that they are able to get set up. My appointment was at 1:30, the first, and only set appointment for the day. When I arrived, the staff once again seemed confused, as if they were not expecting me. I had an appointment, but nothing was set up and I did not get called back to begin my tattoo until 2:30, and did not begin getting tattooed until about 2:50. Thats over an hour of waiting. While I was waiting, the artist, Solomon, was making phone calls to his daughter, and looking for a parking pass that he lost, instead of focusing on the appointment I had set. Additionally, he continued to have a loud conversation with the man at the desk which included profane language. I personally dont care if I hear inappropriate language, but it simply appeared unprofessional to me. After finally getting the tattoo over with, I was told not to take the clear, plastic bandage off for 3-4 days. After experiencing some discomfort on the first night sleeping with my tattoo, I decided to research the bandage and healing of tattoos in order to ensure I was properly taking care of it. After asking 4 different friends who had also recently gotten tattoos at other shops, and extensive internet research on several websites, It became clear that this type of bandage should not be left on for a recommended 4-8 hours after getting your tattoo, and no more than 12 hours. Otherwise, due to the plastic quality of the bandage and the bodily fluids leaking from the tattoo, the bandage creates a hot, moist space, which is the perfect environment for breeding bacteria. I feel the advice I got at this shop was dangerous. Finally, after my tattoo, I asked the artist, Solomon, If I just go to pay up at the desk. He looks at me and tentatively says We didnt give you a quote or anything on the tattoo did we...? When I replied no, he told me blankly that the tattoo would cost $150. The tattoo I got was about the size of the palm of my hand (I am an 18 year old female, so not a very big palm here) and was done in all black ink (no color) My friends who had gotten tattoos there before got similar sized tattoos which cost them $80. At other shops, other friends of mine paid $70-$80 for similar sized designs. I felt really taken advantage of but at that point I just wanted to get out of there and paid, plus a tip for the artist.I would never come back to this shop. Theres great artists everywhere.
Kind of meh piercer. Not gentle at all, I had them put a stud in my nose and a captive in my labret. Labret was fine, but damn they just jammed that stud in my nose... no finesse whatsoever. Both have been healed for 5 plus years for reference. The front desk staff was really friendly though.
Very disappointed with nipple piercing the one I didn’t flinch on lol the first one is very crooked one end pointing up ward the other down ward . The second nipple I flinched a bit it’s straight some how would recommend for a piecing here . This was my first experience here and will be my last .
I went in with a friend of mine, me getting double mid cartilage piercings, and him one top cartilage. Im not great with pain and Danny was super understanding, he kept everything sterile, and made the process quick. Definitely going back again.
Went to the East location for a piercing walk in and it went so much better than expected! Friendly front desk personal who was fun to talk to during the wait. Quick and rather painless piercing (:
Ally did a absolute amazing job on my rose!!!! I highly recommend she is amazing and great vibes too!!!!
My friend and I came in for a walk-in. We were serviced quickly. We both got small, fine-lined ink and the artist did a great job. Was very fairly priced. I will be going back in the future.
Got my tragus pierced last weekend. Angel did a great job and I love it!!
🤡’s..Girl on the phone was very rude, wouldn’t let me schedule any type of appointment. That’s fine. I’ll take my hard earned cash somewhere else and get inked up .
While ‘pork chop daddy’ was doing my tattoo of a quote, he said that “lettering was his worst skill” lmao. turns out he was right, the letters are all mismatched sized and the whole thing is slanted. Some lines aren’t even complete. He was friendly and all but wasn’t confident in his work, for good reason.
Piercing lady was kind and clean. Talked my daughter through the whole process. She was very patient. Hard to get into due to lack of organization at the front desk. Made two 30 minutes drives in 😕
Jay was literally so awesome, made me feel comfortable when i got my nose pierced! ask for them next time you stop by 🙏🏼 thank you jay love you
Im so glad I chose to go here to get my 6 yr olds ears pierced! Angel was AMAZING! Highly recommend her!
Friendly staff. Easy and quick appointment setup. Knowledgeable and experienced artists. Reasonable prices. Walked out with a huge grin on my face.
Stopped in late for a spontaneous tattoo. Ally did a great job and Im definitely coming back to try the get what you get!
Highly recommend, got a tattoo from Ally and they were completely understanding and patient. Very sterile, nice, and easy to talk to.
I had a great experience with my last two tattoos. Super friendly environment and Ross did a beautiful job on the tattoos, would definitely recommend!
I’ve been pierced and tattooed by their workers either here or at other locations! They’re always super friendly and the artwork done is amazing (being somebody with awards in art I can say so) thanks guys!
Love coming here for my piercings but not sure on tattoos been waiting to hear back about an issue with one of mine and nothing so far
Moya does an amazing job. Ive had 3 tattoos with her, and super happy with how they all turned out.
Re pierced a hole that closed up. Great job!
I got a cover up tattoo by Moya I love it shes real professional and friendly definitely would recommend her.
Good quality tattoos at a much more reasonable price than Splash of Color.Ask for Bryce, hes the best.
Got my nose pierced here about a year ago and went somewhere else to get it switched to a hoop and they told me that wherever I got my nose pierced they completed messed it up and did it way too low and at the wrong angle so basically I can never have a hoop unless I get it repeirced.
Wonderful service. Totally worth the money. I got my Helix and 2 lobe done there and tbh it barley hurt frl people there are amazing!!
Skills, best piercer around! Hes very knowledgeable and personable. Will definitely be back for another piercing!
Angel did my friends nose today she is literally the best and so professional I would recommend her to anyone
Got a venom bite piercing about a week ago here and love it. They were friendly, quick, professional.
Made me schedule an appointment then waited until I got there to say they couldn’t do it at that time
Ally did a great job on my back on the south and my arm here on the north. Will most definitely will be coming back
