Studio 42 Tattoo

For my first time at studio 42 I couldn’t have had a better experience. Friendly comfortable atmosphere and my tattoo artist, Matt Riddle did an amazing job. Great lines, great detail, and shading. He also works quickly but neatly without beating up your skin. Will definitely be back for another tattoo.

I had gone to a shop in Brighton with my sister and got my rook pierced. It rejected and I let it heal and I went to Donny to redo it because I wasn’t comfortable or confident with the other girls ability. I had originally planned to redo the rook, but I mentioned to Donny that I really wanted my dairy done but had always been told that my ear was the wrong shape for it. He told me no it wasn’t and we got set up and he did my piercing. He did a phenomenal job, no pain and it’s been two weeks and it feels great. After my appointment, my niece who is seven came up to get her ears pierced. Donny joked around with her, explained everything to her step by step and put her totally at ease, and to her, he put the icing on the cake when he gave her funny stickers. Pricing was extremely fair and reasonable, shop was clean and the whole experience was excellent.

Hes done piercings, a tattoo touch-up, and a large custom tattoo for me, and each time hes exceeded my expectations. Donny listens to your ideas and offers expert suggestions to ensure the best possible outcome.Hes also a fantastic teacher. I witnessed him coaching an apprentice piercer, who successfully completed their first piercing on a person under his guidance. Its inspiring to see an artist so dedicated to sharing their knowledge and passion, and trying to set up the next generation of body-mod artists for success!Another thing I really liked about this shop is their commitment to using high-quality products like Sani-Derm. My tattoos have healed very well and with minimal discomfort thanks Sani-Derm. Got this tattoo around two years ago, didn’t bother leaving a review when I got it but after staring at my arm with regret for enough time I figure that I’ll speak up. I came in with this reference, due to the tattoo artist not being able to do it, he came up with a new idea for me, I hated the new idea he wanted to draw a giant skull on my arm and have the ghost be “coming out” of the source skull, I told him didn’t like it. He got a little upset with me telling me that the tattoo wasn’t going to work any other way (this wasn’t even close to my idea that I brought in) and the shop or manager I’m not sure ended up disagreeing with my artist and telling him he can’t just pick my tattoo out so the artist begrudgingly agreees to the design and begins doing it. I’m black, the entire tattoo is black but yet he still shaded the inside of the line work MAKING IT ALSO BLACK… so now the tattoo reads as a giant black blob and god forbid i get a tan going from being outside now the inside line work quite literally is impossible to make out. The last picture is POST TOUCH UP from a different artist, the way it looks now is like 75% better than when I first got it, I drove an hour from my home town to come here because their instagram pictures looked so good and I ended up getting burned with a terrible tattoo that I can only dream of someday getting removed. The pictures that I am including are of me getting the tattoo touched up from a different artist because this artist at studio 42 had terrible linework, didn’t black out the black portion correctly, the shop was gathered out giggling at my arm because they couldn’t believe it. I wish I still had the original pictures of the tattoo so you could 1) see how terrible it looked and 2) stop these guys from denying that this tattoo ever happened, they’re gonna act like it wasn’t them, I’m lying and I secretly got it somewhere else but I promise you from the bottom of my soul everything in this is nothing but the truth. Do not go here especially if ur skin is darker, they have no clue what they’re doing. Once again the pictire your seeing is POST TOUCH UP from a different artist, this already bad tattoo was substantially worse, my picture doesn’t do it justice because the second artist fixed so much of what was wrong with it after leaving studio 42 but even after the touch it it still looks very bad.

I just got my belly piercing done by Donny. Great experience, good people. I felt comfortable the whole time and they made me laugh. The studio was also very clean and the price I paid was extremely reasonable. Thank you guys! Good job!

Run dont walk to Studio 42. The shop is clean, bright, and full of art to enjoy. Mary is one of my favorite artists to be tattooed by because she is kind, accommodating, and incredibly good at what she does. Ive only ever gotten work done by Mary but have met Donny, the owner, on every occasion and he is hilarious and friendly. This shop and its people feel very safe to be around and I look forward to when I visit them again.

Don’t have any pictures of the work that has been done, but I have been in to see Matt about 3-4 times now and by far have to say he is one hell of an artist. He did an amazing cover up for me at a decent price great person overall. Definitely going to be a consistent customer to him!

Spend a few extra dollars to have your piercings done properly (somewhere else). I went in to get my septum pierced. It ended up crooked, and went through the cartilage. After I got home and took it out, I found out he used a 14g ring after I asked for a 16g.

Friendly, clean, honest. Experienced, knows exactly what details to put in any art piece! These guys are talented and put much effort in every art piece they put in!

Took our daughter on her 5th birthday to get her ears pierced. They were maxing. Very sweet and friendly. Thanks again Donny for being so cool with our girl!

Yesterday my Husband and I went in for our appointment with Rick, and I couldn’t be happier! He treated us great, really put in the work to make sure that we both got exactly what we wanted, and was fantastic to talk to. He did some damned fine work, and through our talks, seeing his previous work, and watching him at work I can tell this man is an artist passionate about what he does. I couldn’t recommend this place and Rick particularly more!

*updating just to respond to owners response - unfortunately no it hasnt been fixed as forever marked with a messed up crooked tattoo! Ink is permanent and its not in a very coverupable spot.After an hour after my appointment started, my tattoo artist Eric finally showed up to do very simple handwriting tattoos, and apologizing because he took a sleeping pill but told other employees there it was something different which we heard what was said. Since it was such a long wait, Rick (who did amazing work) did my sisters tattoo. I was tattooed by Eric. He couldnt get the stenciling done correctly so Rick had to do that for him as well. Once I got home and could actually see the tattoo other than looking down at my knee - I noticed how absolutely crooked he wrote three simple letters. It literally looks like a trashy tattoo now instead of the meaningful one it was intended to be. Im utterly crushed I came out of state and this is the experience and permanent tattoo I received.

We have been going to Donny at Studio 42 for years. The work that we have had done has always been professional and great quality. Studio 42 is an incredibly clean and positive atmosphere with incredibly trained professional artists. My husband and I always recommend Donny and Jeremy to all whom are looking for new artwork from a professional shop. We have even had people come in from overseas in the past whom still rave about how great they were treated and the awesome artwork from Studio 42 and the artists.

Got a tattoo last week and it’s my new favorite. Donny took time to hand draw my entire tattoo because he didn’t want to trust the stencil machine on the quality and detail I was specifically looking for. Made sure I was comfortable the entire time. I don’t even know what he looks like because he kept his mask on the entire time. What a great guy I will be coming again very soon!!

I have never had a bad experience at Studio 42. I’m always greeted like I’m a part of the family. People that haven’t even tattooed me always seem so thrilled to see me, and remember the little details I’ve shared with them about my life. They really care. All of my work except for one tattoo have been done by Donny Morrison. He always makes me feel super comfortable and walks me through what he is doing even though he’s tattooed me multiple times. He’s a part of the family. I’m grateful to have such a clean place to get tattooed, and a tattoo artist who is passionate about his work and safety of the craft.

Donny did an AMAZING job with my coverup. He made sure I was comfortable during the whole session and informed me when he needed to switch it up between shading, outlining, and color changes. Donny fixed a tattoo I had done at another shop. Added actual depth to what looked like a flat horse. I followed tattoo care recommended by Donny and it healed very quickly. There was zero fading . The white highlights are still white, over a year later.

I have had 2 pierci gs there and my daughter has has 2 large tattoos there. The industrial piercing I got I dont think it was placed correctlyand after 7 months it was so sore, I had to take it out. Very disappointed cause I really wanted the pierci g but it would not heal!!!!
