Julie West is THE BEST. My daughter is super anxious about needles, but has been wanting a septum piercing for a while now. She finally got the green light, and was excited-but very nervous. Julie was so kind and understanding. She eased her mind, walked her through it-and got it done QUICKLY. No tears were shed, and it looks AMAZING! Thank you for being so great with my kiddo. When she saw your handiwork you could see the instant confidence boost she felt.

From the initial call to ask about pricing all the way to the end of our visit, every person we talked to was awesome and helpful. The man at the front was great! Ms. West is AMAZING! She pierced my daughter’s navel. She was fast and it came out perfect. My daughter said it didn’t even hurt. She did such an amazing job and was so nice and funny throughout. Definitely made it the best experience! We will be back.

I went to broken moon for the very first time on march 28th and I loved it! Everyone was telling me “if u want a piercing go to Julie”, so I went and I everyone was so chill and nice. And when I went to the back to get my piercing and I met Julie… AH I fell in love! She is the sweetest person ever! (She even gave me the nickname “Ohio”)She let all 6 of my friends come to the back with me as I got my tragus pierced. She was very clean and sterile and very professional but also felt like my mom. I just love her, and you’re gonna love her too! When she pierced me she just slipped the needle right through my ear and I didn’t even know she was doing it. But I love that she does it that way because it didn’t hurt at all. My tragus looks really good and it healed very well. I still love it and it never got infected or hurt really. The 1st 3 days it was hot and uncomfortably, but after that I was chillin. All in all a great experience and when I go back to Texas I’m definitely getting something else pierced!!

I got this custom tattoo for my birthday.It was my first tattoo ever. However, I felt like when I asked for it how I wanted that Matthew West was annoyed and frustrated. I kept my cool, and requested that the tattoo face me. He said, Most people dont get it that way. Its more aesthetically pleasing if its where other people can see it. I didnt want it that way. I wanted one less leaf. And admittedly I did forget to update the sketch. And thats my bad, (I wanted 6 on top and 7 on the bottom for the leaves).. and it ended up as 7 and 7. Which works for me cause its equal but I wanted it to be 13 for the years of Amys life.Anyway, I had this sketch and the clay paw print and I sent them both.I wouldn’t recommend going to Mathew for customs, and if its your first time. He said,I have a 3pm too. And I was thinking okay? But this is my time now. Like you are not gonna be late my guy. I showed up on time. I even asked,Should I come back another time? When you have more time?I still left a tip cause Im not a douche, but Id be lying if I said I was 100% happy with it. At one point, he even said that the paw part would look profane if I had it styled a certain way. But who is going to look at it and think male privates?? Its a cat paw for Gods Sake.His wife Julie is super sweet, though. She wished me a happy birthday and hugged me. Love that woman. She deserves all the best.Matthew West, my guy. Part of the reason I picked you is because you share the name with a Christian singer and when my cat was dying of old age I played Save a place for me while saying goodbye to her.Anyway, he seemed very pressed for time. I felt like walking out... but didnt cause I wanted this tattoo for over 2.5 years. My cat died on Nov. 18th, 2021 at like 3 or 4 am.It was time. And I know it wasnt ever gonna be perfect, perfect. but definitely thought if I was going to have it on my skin forever I shouldnt be getting some tude for wanting it the way I wanted it. I paid for it. It was 150 plus 30 bucks tip. But I wont be back not for him. Julie maybe. Him, no thanks. He even felt the need to give a reason for his demeanor. He was like, I know I look like this but Im not a scary guy. And he used the term,Adult with me like he was like Adult to adult why would you let me use marker and then say it needed to be changed? Ive been an adult for years, was that phrase necessary?Doubt it.And I know how he meant it, he meant it like youre wasting my time. Dude, if its going to stay with me for a lifetime you gotta be flexible. He knew I was a first time person. Dont get upset cause Im new man. This is why people get scared and go into tattoo parlors.His lines were clean though. Didnt hurt much. Talked to him like normal.But God just let me get it the way I want. It is a CUSTOM tattoo. Not a eh, whatever you want man Im cool with it tattoo. He worked quite fast, and it wasnt all that bad. But I also did my part to stay relaxed and calm. Ill probably in a couple years have part of it fixed up without frustration radiating from the person tattooing me. But definitely dont regret it. He even complained or said something about me wanting it towards the left or the right if youre moving the stencil. So I let it be. But I made d@mn sure to make it go between the scars because I got them protecting my Amy cat when I was in middle school and I still walk around with those scars. This was meant to be an addition to my scars. A badge of honor for Amy and me. It was a rough year, and this was meant to be my gift to myself for taking it in stride. And I did. I stood my ground got this tattoo mostly my way. And Im happy I did that for myself. Definitely, not for first time people. He did say it was good I thought the tattoo through unlike some people who end up regretting it. We talked about animals etc. I know when it heals Ill probably look at it differently. Still, you know if he didnt spend all of his time trying to fight me or give me attitude on it. It would have been done a lot faster.

Walked n on 8/5 (Thursday)to look around at flash and artist books. The place seemed really clean and inviting. People I spoke with were kind. I got with Matt the owner I believe. I decided on a tattoo and he said he would draw something up. He couldn’t get me in until 8/7 (Saturday) I agreed. I had to leave a deposit. They take cash so I had to go to an atm. I returned with the deposit. I was told several times if you can’t make the appointment or if you’re late please call. I assured the lady at the front “ I’ll make my appointment “. I returned on 8/7 (Saturday) at 7:55pm for my 8:00 pm appointment. I was greeted with total confusion. I was asked if I was sure my appointment was today and with Matt. I assured them it was. I was asked if I left a deposit. I assured them I did. I was then told that Sam was drawing my tattoo. “Who’s Sam”. I was then told Matt had someone else in his chair and would not have time for me. Matt never showed up to apologize. I was told they would wave the rest of the fee and reschedule. I don’t want a discount tattoo and I showed up when asked. If he didn’t want to do it he should’ve just said so. I’ve gotten several tattoos all over the U.S. and out of the country. I’ve never been ghosted. It’s sad that businesses do this so often now days. This business won’t be her forever and when it all comes to an end they’ll ask what went wrong. It’s the little things that add up. Wasting peoples time is not cool that’s why didn’t waste yours.

Julie Ann piecerd my daith and it was a super pleasant experience. Im definitely looking forward to her designing my future ear piercings.Prices are affordable. Even if you are looking to change our your jewelry, this is the place to go. Her selection is huge. Julie Ann is so caring and patient. Im very excited I was introduced to this establishment!

The piercer at broken moon is the sweetest thing on the planet. she has done all of my facial piercing and they have all came out so great and healed nicely. Her communication 100% and Her knowledge of ear anatomy is excellent. Will always go back to her for any other piercings🩷

This place is ABSOLUTELY amazing! My daughter recently got her belly button pierced at another shop with a non threaded ring. We were on our way in from Austin and she lost the ball and we were able to stop by and get a replacement last minute right before closing. They didnt even charge us for the jewelry! Super awesome staff.We have 2 residences, one outside of Austin, and one in Freeport. Just from this initial experience, I will be using them for all my piercings and more than likely tattoos!Thank you again Broken Moon. TOTAL LIFE SAVER!!

Julie pierced my septum, super professional, wonderful human 💙 septum isn’t sore or anything the following day. Everyone in the shop was very nice, very helpful, and very professional. Answered all questions I had while I was waiting for my turn to see Julie.

It made me more at ease knowing that after doing some research I had chose the right place for my daughters to go. Also I had a question about an old finger tattoo that I need to have touched up and she and her husband were very informative and helpful on helping me decide the best way to get it fixed. If you want a piercing come here !! Came here on the third with my mom and got my belly button pierced something Ive wanted for years but was nervous to because of the pain and my body size but it was fantastic !!! Julie made me feel completely comfortable and beautiful, she was kind and funny but also respectful and professional would absolutely come again. My mom got her nose redone and hers came out (my moms fault not the shops) later on so she went back to hopefully have them put it back in Julie gave her a new ring that was better suited for her nose and wouldnt come out but also re pierced her nose FOR FREE because it had already grown over this place is amazing

Today was my birthday, and Ive been planning to get my septum pierced for time now. I originally went to another shop for the procedure, only because it was closer to home. The first shop I went to was 7 souls and the piecer pierced my septum twice and couldnt get the piercing straight. I didnt find out till later that she never even pierced my septum, just the outer rim of my nose. Julie Ann West took care of me entirely and made me feel so so so comfortable. I was worried that my nose was damaged from the last procedure but she walked me through the whole process and made the whole situation professional. She is a true one and really takes care of her people. I will never go to anyone but her for work done on anything because of my experience. As long as shes in practice Ill never go to anyone else.

I have known Julie and Matt West for several years now. Julie has performed 26 piercings on me and she is the only person I will allow. She is very knowledgeable, extremely professional and amazingly compassionate! Matt did my very first wrist tattoo. He was so gentle, I knew I would eventually get more. Over a 3 year span, he did a total of 4 pieces, never disappointing. Their shop is always hospital clean. Julie is a germaphobe!!!! Sam Britton is also very kind and talented! They all are extremely talented, winning various awards from different tattoo expos which in my opinion, allows them to stay current. Most of the bad reviews here are either a miscommunication or an upset customer that they had to turn down while looking out for the customers best interest.

I went to get a tragus piercing changed. I was afraid it would hurt, thinking the piercing may have closed around the ring. Julie was so gentle and nice. She changed my piercing and although I had a little bleeding, it was painless. I left with notes on caring for the piercing, a new tragus earring, and happy. If I lived in state, I would def return for services but Ill just leave these review in hopes that others benefit. It also helps that the space was extremely clean and the price was very reasonable ($10).

Wonderful, sweet, accommodating, relaxed, precise, knowledgeable, professional, CLEAN CLEAN CLEAN.... Any and every positive adjective applies to the owners Julie & Matt and their work! So happy I went there for my first non-traditional piercing and my significant other will be getting a tattoo soon as well. Are there other options in this area for tattoos and piercings? Yes, but none that interest me. Julie has studied piercing to relieve pain (headaches/ migraines/ anxiety, etc.) and is the pioneer for this area and her immediate knowledge of my personal ailments was astounding. She was quite literally naming my symptoms as she peirced me. It was amazing.

Discrimination from Matt. I was trying to help my family member get her ears pierced and introduced them. He told me Julie wasn’t there in person and also on the phone. Turns out Julie was at the shop because I had another friend watching everything and go in before me to make sure.Didn’t want me around her. Must have have found out I’m Black. Racist. I know Julie is a good woman and wouldn’t approve of how mr.west conducted himself in a unprofessional manner. I’d give her 5 stars but because what Matt did I’d say no stars for him ever. I made a fb post asking Brazoria County who they recommended for me to go to for a daith piercing. I just couldnt bear the headaches anymore. Julie at Blue Moon Tattoos was recommended over 10 to 1! So I went yesterday and I can 100% see why she is so, so loved and appreciated! Not only was my headache almost instantaneously relieved, but she just won my heart! She completely put me at ease & talked me through what was fixing to happen, and when she did the actual piercing, it wasnt much more than a pinch and a little pulling. I didnt even flinch! if youre having chronic headaches, dont put it off any longer--go let Julie work her magic on you!!! ❤

The experience I had, especially for my first time, was absolutely amazing. I almost psyched myself out, but the people were just great. Sam is a fantastic tattoo artist and Julies spirit had me feeling good. I do not regret anything at all.

This is the ONLY place in Brazoria county i will go to. Very very clean!!! I love how people complain when the business hours are clearly listed. Ive been going to this shop since the day they opened. NO MINORS GET PIERCED WITHOUT PARENTAL/GUARDIAN PRESENT!! There is only one piercer, so trying to say someone else did it is a blatant lie. The owners would never allow such behaviour. I am proud to know our county had a safe and respectable place to go for tattoos and piercings !!!! A++++

Dirty needles. This place needs to be shut down immediately. Unsanitary, I know people that have came out of this place very sick with infections and illness. Not a good look on the tattoo industry at all.

This place needs to be shutdown, Ill be contacting the police department about them piercing a 16 year olds nose without a parent or guardian present.
