I had the pleasure of having my sleeve tattoo done and created by James at Iron Right Tattoo South. I knew I wanted a sleeve done but I didn’t know exactly what I wanted. I wanted the artist to create a piece of art for me and have complete creative freedom. James not only met but he exceeded my expectations! He was detailed in every session and made the whole process so easy!I can’t say enough about how great this experience was. Thank you James and Iron Right Tattoo for my new sleeve tattoo! I can totally understand the rest of the glowing reviews. I recently got my tattoo from Chad Clark, and I HIGHLY recommend this studio (and Chad!). I have been waiting to get this tattoo for a few years, even self-applying temp tattoos to make sure it was what I wanted.I have a couple of other tats, from more than 25 years ago... and so this was a kind of big deal for me.Not only was the process of scheduling and set up smooth and super-friendly (thanks, Sydney - hope I spelled your name right), but the tattoo sitting was great, too.When I started feeling a bit peckish, Chad took a break, and we changed positions to finish up. His conversation and attention made me very comfortable.And I LOVE my new tattoo. Thanks, Chad!

Update:The owners reached out to me almost immediately after posting a review. We set up a time with James to look at my tattoo. James did a fantastic job. I am very happy with it now! 10/10 would recommend booking with James!I didn’t have the best experience here. Before leaving, I noticed that some parts of my tattoo were not colored in all the way and that I wanted some lines darker. When it was brought up to the artist he was rude and had a bad attitude about it. Not that it’s almost healed on every single heart there isn’t ink in the middle (even though he went over them a second time) and some parts are already fading. When leaving the shop I knew that this tattoo would need to be fixed later. Very disappointed in my experience here.

I went here for my first tattoo after knowing my parents had gone there to get tattoos in the past. My artist was marcos and I honestly could not recommend anyone better! He did such a great job! He took what I wanted and made it even better! He was very kind, understanding, and definitely talented!

After my grandmother passed away, I decided to get a tattoo in her honor on a random Wednesday afternoon. I wanted to support a local business and discovered Iron Rite Tattoo South was 1 mile away from my house! Not knowing what to expect, I walked in and was greeted by some of the friendliest people I’ve met in a tattoo shop in an awhile. Cody Clark was my artist and he greeted me with a smile, asked the significance of the tattoo, and we proceeded to talk the entire session about our lives. The tattoo turned out beautifully and Cody was genuinely so happy to have tattooed this small little piece of my grandma for me to always remember. It’s THIS kind of environment that is often missing from the tattoo industry. I remember being 18 and getting my first tattoo and feeling like I would always feel embarrassed about a design I wanted and that tattoo artists would be mean and unapproachable, but places like Iron Rite Tattoo South are here to break that. They provided an environment where I felt comfortable and well taken care of, which is imperative when you’re adding art to your body for life. After the tattoo was done, other artists asked me about my tattoo I just received, my teaching career, and told me they hope the school year goes well. Got my first Tattoo and I’m so amazed on how beautiful it looks. Justin is one talented artist. From the moment we had our consultation where we discussed how I wanted to incorporate my birth flower to the tiger portrait I brought which is my birth animal, to the sizes that we could do and the location on my rib cage. Justin explained everything in detail as well as the amount of time that would be needed and the cost.The day of the tattoo, Justin had the art in two different sizes for me to decide on. We discussed the art one more time and he was more than happy to edit the stencils and change one of the flowers to have it to my liking. I am beyond happy with the results. Thank you Justin!!

Between myself, my husband and my daughter, we have had 4 different artists do work for us at this shop. David, Melissa, Cory (and Daniel who has since moved) have all been amazing. Everyone is friendly, and the atmosphere is chill. The work is impeccable. Take a look at their Instagram if you want an idea of which artist fits your style. The booking process is easy and quick.

James Dupper did an amazing recreation of a tattoo my dad had. He really listened to what I had to say and was patient with me during the whole process.

I went in with an idea of an avocado with a face and stick legs and arms. Melissa worked with my description and made it happen. Absolutely amazing experience. Super friendly staff (which isn’t always the case with tattoo studios, I’ve been to several), clean, and professional. My husband also got work done by Chad and also had rave reviews. Definitely will be going back.

Melissa was the absolute best! Came in as a walk in, she had no issues seeing me and it felt like i was just hanging around a friend! She made it so comfortable and checked up on me to make sure the comfort never left. The quality of her work was also amazing. 10/10!

Love this place! The staff is very welcoming and funny! I work in downtown Georgetown and my coworkers and friends go here to get tatted! I would say best place in the area to get a tattoo! They also came and organized some flash tats to do at the opening of one of our new locations. Super cool people!

I have been to Iron Rite South for most of my tattoos, had a variety of artists, and gotten everything from a small script to a large back piece, and every experience I’ve had there has been positive. The artists are talented and professional. The front desk people are amazing too! Just an all around great place for tattoos.

Marcos did an awesome job on my tattoo that I got in honor of my mom who recently passed away! I love it!! It turned out better than I could have imagined.

My first experience with Iron Rite will not be my last! This was not my first tat, but it is my best. Johnny took an idea and (quickly) turned it into a meaningful and gorgeous piece I am ecstatic to wear forever. His hand is light, his demeanor is calm and comforting, and his art is phenomenal!

I love the team at Ironrite! I have gotten three pieces here from two different artists and all three experiences have been incredible. Melissa did my most recent tattoo which was an insane cover up on my arm. Her ability to connect with me while ensuring what she was doing met my expectations was phenomenal. No better shop around! All artists are top notch and extremely professional. I’ve had a lot of work done by James over the last few years and can’t recommend them enough. If youre not getting tattooed by James, youre missing out. Ive been getting tattooed by James for about over 10 years now and his work holds up. His pricing is fair, Id even say he could charge more, but hes a humble dude. Ill ALWAYS go to him and Ill ALWAYS recommend him. Tell me otherwise. The building is clean, welcoming and full of talented artists and art.Robin the owner helped me get scheduled after I sent an inquiry via the internet. She responded almost immediately! I was shocked at her professionalism and promptness.I got there and the the staff was helpful and was willing to put up with me regarding my simplicity and lack of vision. I liked that my artist wanted to be sure I didnt scar beyond the tattoo. She was super nice, gentle and FAST.A little/lot pricey, for what I was asking for but worth the time, conversation and the offer for free filling of my tattoo when Im back in the area.I traveled from MI to TX and Im glad I made the decision to treat myself for my birthday.The customers I chatted with were even amazing lolI would recommend and I will be going back

My fiancé and i came by for friday the 13th tattoos and the wait was worth it!!!! everyone in the shop was amazing, both in the work they do and the way they interact with customers!!!The colored one was done by Cory and the the black line was done by Johnny!They were helpful, funny, talented and efficient in the work they provided!! we love the new tattoos, would highly recommend and will definitely be back!

I did a lot of research and landed on Iron Rite for the traditional tattoo of my dreams. Daniel did my piece and he is my go-to tattoo artist now for the future. So accommodating with my indecisiveness, very attentive to detail, and also just a really nice guy - everyone at the shop is so nice! I felt comfortable through the whole process and I’m absolutely in love with this piece.

James Dupper is my go-to tattoo artist! He’s been doing my tattoos for 5 years now and he never fails to amaze me! He’s very dedicated to please and accommodate his clients, and the pure craftsmanship of his work is phenomenal. A man full of talent and grit, you will never have to dread the process of tattooing with him; it’s rather stress-free and relaxing (at least for me). I encourage you all to go to Dupper and set those tattoo appointments/walk-ins immediately! The passion and care is represented through not only his work, but conversations as well.

I went in about a week ago for my first time at this shop. Had an appointment scheduled in advance and absolutely loved the design James created. My tattoo looks amazing and is healing great. I highly recommend this shop and James. Im already trying to decide the next piece I want and will definitely be back.

I came by for the Friday the 13th tattoo flash sale, it was ($130+ i tipped ) [please tip your artist]. I had a really hard time picking which one I wanted because I had so many I really liked! I ended up going with wyatts grim reaper design. The wait was long, but there was a wait list and they stated that they would call/text when it got close to you. I wasnt tattooed until 530 and at that point I had changed my mind and added a second one and got a little snake+skull too, both in black and grey. I was tattooed by James Dupper whos incredibly kind and very personable, and took his time to make sure everything looked good. Ive been tattooed by a couple artists (Daniel, Johnny, (Tommy?) that work here since they opened and everyone has exceeded expectations, including not just the artists, Marcos was some great entertainment lol and Brooke was very kind and straightforward, even when people were not that nice about the wait list being closed. Which was bummer but there are only so many artists that can work so fast, it was first come, first serve and they stuck to that. Anyone that wanted one shouldve known there was a possibility the waitlist could be closed especially because these were bigger tattoos offered and all the shops in austin were oversaturated. Im excited to go back and get a couple more when my pockets recover. I recommend this shop to anyone looking for fair, good quality work to be done, its a hidden gem of georgetown.

I just moved to the Austin area and found out about this place because of their flash events! I have been to two so far and both were fantastic - everyone was so cool and the staff did a really great job at making sure everyone was comfortable and taken care of. As a woman, I’ve been to many tattoo shops that made me feel small and patronized but this place is not like that at all! Not to mention how talented these guys are- I will definitely be coming here for all my future tattoos :)

I have been to several different tattoo places. I’m kind of impulsive and I don’t like to wait. Not a lot of artists were willing or interested to help me out with my designs. I went to Iron Rite and met with James. He did not hesitate to help me. The experience has been next level perfect. The staff is great, friendly and very customer service driven. James takes his time to understand what you want and does an amazing job. Within 2-3 months I’ve already received 3 great tattoos from James and I’m scheduled back for more to finish my sleeve. I’m very happy to have stumbled upon Iron Rite Tattoo. Brooke in the office is on top of getting appointments set up and if there are any cancellations she updates me to get me in sooner. I highly recommend this place and these artists.

I LOVE this shop! It’s an amazing atmosphere to be tattooed in, and everyone there goes above and beyond to make sure you are completely comfortable while getting tattooed. Every time i get a new tattoo people consistently ask me who my tattoo artist is and what shop i go to. Ive been getting tattooed by Dupper now for a couple years when he was still at the North shop (Killeen, TX) Now, I have a highly creative and professional tattoo studio located near me. Theyve got a comfortable and welcoming environment. If youre looking for a good tattoo, done right, this is the place to go!

Atmosphere was great, I did a walk-in experience and was treated great right off the bat. I have been to a few shops and non have be so hospitable like Iron Rite. They were quick to get me in and quick to get a few ideas on what I had planned. Wyatt is the guy who tattooed me, he was professional and overall a cool dude. He made the process quick and easy, maintained good conversation, and gave me some inspiration for future tattoos.

I worked with Daniel who was so nice and professional on top of being an amazing artist. He worked with me to get combine my ideas into the image I had created in my head and he refused to settle for anything less than perfect. From beginning to end I was at the shop for almost 5 hours but it didnt feel like it and wouldve gladly stayed and hung out for longer. The best part was the gorgeous art Daniel brought to life for me which is now my favorite and most well- done piece Ive gotten!

Id give them a 0 but not allowed. Booked an appointment with them within their business hours. They canceled my appointment without notice because they wanted to close up early for the day. No respect.Response:This was at red horn today, I was informed it was your parlour doing tattoos for the red horn anniversary.They had quite a list going while I was there at 130. I asked what time they will be closing and I was told 6pm. I booked a slot at 530 saying I need to leave right now but can be back by 5 or so. At 4pm I was informed they didnt think I was coming back and were closing for the day.

Was referred to James Dupper and Iron Rite through multiple people. He’s done plenty of work on myself and my girlfriend at both Iron Rite locations. I put full faith and trust in James to come up with amazing designs and execute flawlessly. Sessions are always a great time to include the other employees there. The environment there is very welcoming and professional. Highly recommended to anyone looking for superb tattoos!

I love my tattoo and my artist was very understanding of me changing my mind a lot. I had a great experience overall. From when I first walked in the girl at the desk was very welcoming, the tattooing itself and even after the tattoo was finished James was extremely helpful!

Iron Rite South is my go to tattoo shop in Austin. I have gotten a few tattoos there already and I won’t go anywhere else. Johnny is the best and always does such a great job!! They always have a good vibe in there and it’s not intimidating like some other shops can be.

Best place around especially for tattoo coverups! Daniel got to tattoo me today with a beautiful piece that he created himself. He also fixed a tattoo I recieved recently and its better than I imagined. They get you appointments in quick with reasonable cost. 10 out of 10 will come back again.

First time coming to Iron Rite Tattoo South and music was loud and was everything. But most importantly the vibe was amazing all the artist were super chill and very friendly and they didn’t make me feel uncomfortable. Will definitely come here again. They were able to get me in quickly from a walk in. My usual shop was doing appt only. They were really nice which is why I gave 3 stars. Unfortunately I’m now sitting in the doctor office less than a week later with an infection from the tattoo! This is my 5th tattoo and I’ve never had this problem before so I’m not sure what caused it but figured an honest review was important

Way over priced, quoted $800 ($400 each) for a pair of script tattoos... shouldve been no more that $100 maybe $120 each but ended up paying $600 for both.. tattoos were only 6-7in long on forearms.. took advantage of an 18 year old with no prior tattoos or knowledge of how the industry works.. has nothing to do with being out of budget.. just straight up overpriced..

Quick and painless, Wyatt did my tattoo and made the process enjoyable. It was a little over priced considering how small the tattoo is, but I would go again if I had the money to spend like that.
