Ithaca Piercing & Tattoo

Ithaca Piercing has been my go to for years. Ive had over 15 piercings and each one has been a positive experience! You can always expect a clean and welcoming environment. Ive worked with both Rob and Lianna and recommend them both! Each time theyve taken care to go over all jewelry options with me and assisting to choose pieces that fit my anatomy. My healing has always been nice and easy. If Ive ever had concerns or issues I was able to get in as soon as possible to have them look at the piece and adjust as needed. Not to mention that all of the staff have been great to talk to! We always leave laughing or with a new fun fact. I will always recommend this place for beautiful work!

I was visiting Ithaca for a wedding and was able to squeeze in a spontaneous appointment for my first piercings. The store was clean and welcoming, and the staff was friendly and knowledgeable. I’m so happy with how Rob did my piercings, how clean he keeps everything, and how he helped take care of me through the process. If I visit the city again, I would love to go to Ithaca Piercing and Tattoo for another appointment!

Got my septum pierced by Lianna and it turned out crooked ): they acknowledged that it was and told me it would straighten if I held a q-tip to it everyday for several weeks (pushing against it in the opposite direction), but it never did. A year later, another piercer in NYC told me that wouldn’t make any sense for a piercing and that repiercing it now wouldn’t be a good idea. This same piercer told me I didn’t have a deviated septum and that even if I did, the original person should have been able to account for that. It’s unfortunate because I can only keep tiny jewelry in it which keeps it less noticeable or else it is quite apparent and won’t sit straight. I wish Ithaca Piercing and Tattoo would’ve just had me come back in to repierce it after doing it crooked the first time. Feeling bummed about the service here even this much later

Customer service skills were lacking from the two people who I thought would try to help. After asking for what I needed, they casually looked in a few boxes and then said they thought they were out. Such poor service and very unhelpful humans. I asked if there were any recommendations or temporary solutions while showing the sharp end of the earring. And was immediately reprimanded from touching my piercing as the person turned the sign towards me and pointed at the “don’t touch your piercings while in the store” instructions. Yet neither of the people were willing to look at it to determine the exact gauge.

Lianna pierced my conch, helix, and daith and each was virtually painless, quick and healed well. Overall a pleasant experience and a very professional piercer.

I am definitely coming back here! Nina did my beautiful ghost tattoo and her shading style is amazing. She was very quick but super detailed and did a great job with the reference and ideas I gave. Awesome place!

I came to Ithaca Piercing back when it was Stiehls when I attended IC over 12 years ago and was so impressed by their attention to cleanliness and selection of hypoallergenic/hugh quality jewelry. I returned this week and while it is under a new name, same attention to detail remains. I did a jewelry overhaul on my ear piercings and had 3 piercings added. I wanted an elegant, feminine, minimalist look and he helped me curate a really pretty, stylish look. I am obsessed with how it came out. Lianna handled the piercing and she was lovely to chat with, attentive to detail and ensured everything was perfectly aligned. I had a great experience and thank their team! I highly recommend considering this location if you’d like to have a piercing done- I learned that making a reservation online or in person is recommended.

Super chill environment with really kind staff. My piercer Rob was knowledgably and kind. As a therapist I appreciated the detail he went into explaining the process and what was happening, I would consider this a trauma informed environment that could make anyone feel safe and comfortable. They also had a really good selection of jewelry.

Love love love Lianna who did my piercings, in fact going back for more!! From personality to piercings I will go nowhere else!! Front counter guy was helpful and knows his business!! I have a feeling I will be spending a lot of money there !!! Tattoos are next !

This rating is not for the shop specifically bc I do agree with some folks that the guy at the front is a bit condescending. However, if you want a lovely piercer who truly cares and will speak to you with kindness and respect? Choose Lianna. I was paired with her randomly and it ended up being the best choice for me. She was gentle, professional, experienced, patient and lovely to talk to. I’ll definitely return to have additional piercings done by her. I was hesitant when speaking over the phone and even when I arrived in person but was very happy by the end bc of the quality of service she specifically provided. Choose Lianna! You won’t be disappointed.

Rob is the only person I trust to ever pierce my skin nowadays. Shop is extremely clean and the staff is extremely friendly. I’ve been here numerous times and will continue to do so.

Rob went over all the legalities and prices with me before the piercing(prices are very fair for good quality jewelry and for damn good piercing skills). during the session we both had a friendly banter, piercing was done quick and neat with no issues, came out looking great. aftercare was discussed and recommendations were given. would definitely become a regular if i lived local.my partner got their ears re-opened with new jewelry, again, Rob was great and got it done quick and neat. both of us are very satisfied with our visit. if i lived local, i’d become a regular. driving the six hours in from dc sounds entirely worth it for more.thank you, Rob!

I got my nipple piercing here! Fantastic service, friendly folks and a lovely environment. I had a quick 30 minute appointment and got this cute lil thang! No blood or pain at all, and im loving the results. Id reccomend this place to everyone.

Rob was fantastic for the piercing today. He was patient with us and explained the whole process and totally prepared us for what to expect. He did a fabulous job and made it a relaxed experience for my daughter. I also love how this shop’s policy is body autonomy- if a kid doesn’t want a piercing, it won’t happen. It was worth the hour drive for the service and shop philosophy. Not to mention the cool building it was in. Will definitely go back for any piercings in the future.

Really nice area. Got my septum pierced while I visited Ithaca. A little on the pricier side but you get what you pay for. The piercing for me was $40 and the jewelry $45. And I appreciated how much my piercer (Rob) valued cleanliness.

Update: Rob pierced my daughter’s ears a couple wks ago, and once again, it was a fabulous experience. Super professional, sweet and patient. Neither one of us will ever go to anyone else for piercings or ink. Her birthday is coming up, and she’s planning on a tat. Thank you, Rob! You are the best!!………………………………………………………………………Rob pierced my 17 yo daughter’s lip twice this weekend, and he was AMAZING. Super sweet and totally professional. He was so understanding and answered all of my daughter’s (many, many) questions patiently. We will DEFINITELY be going back to him for the next piercing she wants. The place itself is amazingly clean (I’ve been pierced there a few times), and all of the equipment used is sterilized in an autoclave. It’s a lot like a doctors office in a lot of ways. I’d definitely recommend Rob and Ithaca Piercing, and we’ll definitely be back. He made my daughter’s first real experience piercing positive and effortless, and that makes him worth his weight in gold. Thank you, Rob!!!

I had my helix pierced about a week ago with a piece of jewelry that was way too short. I have never been pierced with such a short piece before and when this led to my ear getting swollen and hot, I knew why (i’ve never had this reaction for any of my other piercings). After this experience, it appears to me that this business only cares about the sale and not the welfare of their customers and how piercings heal after the customer leaves the shop.UPDATE: two days after having to get the piercing removed with forceps and with a new LONGER bar, the swelling has gone down. Additionally, the piercer who replaced the piercing confirmed that the jewelry was too small to be pierced with. Photos of the swelling, the piercing after it was replaced, and the initial piece of jewelry I was pierced with.

They were so amazing! I went there today to get a philtrum (medusa) piercing and the staff was very helpful. The piercer, Lianna, was super helpful and was very caring. Making sure I was comfortable and ready before doing the piercing and walked me through all the steps. The room was clean and Lianna was quick and made it as painless as possible. Would highly recommend them for piercings!

This is the ONLY place to get piercings and tattoos in Central NY! Rob is an amazing piercer, he has pierced my son 3x (his 4th is scheduled for next month) and me 1x. The people at the shop are friendly, knowledgeable and downright awesome. Nina is by far the most talented tattoo artist I have come across, and Im already planning my next one! Highly recommended!!

Rob is awesome! I had my daith pierced by him today, he really knows his stuff and explained everything very well. Piercing was quick and pretty much painless. Very clean and cool environment! Employee at the front desk was very friendly and helpful as well. I would recommend to anyone!

I got my septum piercing done here and I am beyond happy. The piercer was extremely kind, patient, and professional with me. I was beyond nervous and handle needles horribly but with the combination of the piercer and environment I felt extremely comfortable!! :)

Got my girlfriends septum done for her birthday today and it was an amazing experience they done excellent. Definitely coming back in the future!

At first, I thought I liked this place for an ear piercing about 8 weeks ago. My thoughts and feelings have changed since then and I will never recommend going to this studio. Just a week ago I was in the area and wanted to get my bar downsized. My phone had said that the place was opened and so I naturally went over to have them just look at my ear. The door was opened and Rob had come over and made me feel very pushed aside. He told my friend and I that they were closed. Well, the door was opened and I could not even get words out to just ask about my ear and downsizing. He just kept talking over me about needing an appointment and shoving us out the door. Unfortunately, I made an appointment and I wish I never went back. Today, I rushed over there for him to tell me that my bar is not ready to be changed, ok, fine, understandable. But, just last week you could have nicely just looked and told me that then. Then, just like a girl who reviewed below said.. he rudely tells ME not to touch my earring in the studio. Please, im paying you to help me, do not tell ME what to do with my earring. I payed this place a lot of money to feel like that is all I am good for to them. I have never felt like I was so unappreciated by a studio in my life. Sure, when I give you my money youre very nice. But when your customers come in for simple help or questions you need to respect them. I should have just went to Sacred Art Tattoo In Cortland like I have before. Carrie has always been helpful to me and I highly recommend her and them over this place any day. Im so sad to have given this place any of my time or money. Absolutely the most disheartening experience.

Had a great experience getting my helix pierced at Ithaca Piercing and Tattoo :) this was my first big girl (aka not at Claires) piercing and I was a little nervous but my piercer Rob and the other shop employees put me right at ease, answered all of my questions, and helped pick cute jewelry. Everyone was extremely polite, friendly, and I was in and out in less than the 30 minute appointment which was awesome! Thanks for all your help guys!

While its true that the shop is clean and they did an excellent job with the piercing itself, the customer service is abysmal and drops them all the way to 1 star. Every time Ive gone has felt like Im a major inconvenience to the staff. They dont even want you asked questions without an appointment. When I did schedule to get my post sized down I was told I couldnt and was yelled at for touching my piercing in the studio when trying to explain an issue that I was having. The complaint Id been trying to voice to them was that my post felt like it was oversized and touching the other side of my nostril and it didnt feel right. They wouldnt even listen to me about it so I just shrugged and left. Well, fast forward a week and the post on the inside of my nose IS GONE. It was rubbing at the inside of my nose yet again today and felt more irritating than usual. Then, suddenly, the post just wasnt there anymore. I was sitting where it could have been easily spotted if it fell out and its nowhere to be seen and I checked myself and my surroundings very carefully, which means its now somewhere in my body. Something which could have been avoided if theyd simply listened to me instead of yelling at me about touching the piercing. To top it off theyre closed so I cant even get their help in dealing with this. I cannot recommend this enough, go somewhere else.

Its been almost a year since I have gotten my rook and tragus pierced here and so happy with my experience. Rob and Duane are super professional, knowledgeable, and kind. Their space is comfortable & clean, and they offer a really great selection of gold jewelry. They pay attention to individual anatomy and give suggestions on what works best. This has allowed both my piercings to heal beautifully (each person heals differently but they give great suggestions on best practice). Yes, getting piercings at high quality shops can be expensive, but this takes into account their great service, the quality of the jewelry, and what it takes to run a small business. So happy I got pierced here and was able to support a local business! Looking forward to coming back soon now that everything has healed very well!

If I could give 500 stars I would. I have been coming to this place for over 10 years, and they have only gotten more professional over time. All of the reviews saying that they are rude sound completely off base to me as this team would only be rude to someone to match their energy. They are above professional, they only pierce anatomically correct piercings based on the client, they are more than knowledgeable about piercings, jewelry, and tattoos. They actually provide you the highest quality jewelry the industry has to offer. I live in New York and travel here to buy jewelry or get pierced. I have jewelry from here that has been in over 5 years with zero issue. Scott tattooed majority of my body and I now travel 4 hours to see him to this day. Nina is an absolutely angel and talented female artist. If you are thinking of being swayed by the few negative comments, please give them a try first! This is the most professional shop, who takes Covid seriously, and manages their tattoo/piercing shop in a way that maximizes safety and comfort for clients during their experience. I cannot stress my complete love for this shop enough. As long as you can follow policies that are in place to protect you, you’ll have a wonderful experience. And if you struggle with a piercing healing, contact them. They’ve always been more than happy to help me heal, change out, and discuss healing. 10/10. Love these guys. Seriously the best.

I was very excited to get my piercing done here, but when I entered the store the men were extremely rude and unfriendly. It says on the bottom of their website very small that its appointment only and the men were extremely condescending and treated me like an idiot for not knowing that. I also showed up 40 minutes before the stated closing time online and they decided to close early that day and we’re also condescending, acting like I should’ve known that they were closing early that day. Will not be going back and you shouldn’t either.

Ive been recommending this place to all my friends who want to get pierced. Rob pierced my nose in April and my second lobe piercings about a month later in May. Im coming back in August to get my third lobe piercings done because I dont trust anyone else to do as good of a job as they do. So far, Ive had no problems caring for my piercings because they give really clear instructions on how to clean them. The shop itself is cleaner than some doctors offices.The only small thing is the services can be a bit expensive, but I think its absolutely worth the price. The staff are all super professional and have a ton of experience. Theyre also very upfront about how much everything will cost. Overall, I think the price is more than justified.Great place, I highly recommend coming here for all your piercings.

Super clean and sterile environment. I got my septum pierced by Rob, who is awesome, btw, and everything he did was with cleanliness and Covid in mind. He used different gloves for different items he was handling and he was just super nice.Piercing is a lot more expensive since the last time I had anything pierced but its not something Id nickel and dime, especially considering what a great job he did. I do think the jewelry prices were high and my personal opinion is that the piercing jewelry should come with the service.All in all, a great place and I plan to return for another piercing.

I have to say I never really write reviews that much but this one needed to be said sooner or later, I’ve had a septum piercing for well over a year now with little to no complications, I’ve always used jewelry from Spencer’s because it’s cheap and has a lot of cool designs. Recently I decided it would be nice to have a real titanium septum piercing that wouldn’t oxidize within a month of wearing it. That’s what brought me to this place of business, everyone was super nice but not only once but twice the piercing that they gave me fell out within. It was really unfortunate because now I feel I will never be able to get a septum piercing without having the repierce that area of my nose. It’s really sad that they will make you pay upwards of $65 for a pierce of jewelry that will fall off within an hour of use.

We had a great experience! We were on a girls trip and 4 of us made appointments online and another did a walk-in. We had Rob and Duane do ours and they were very professional. Everything was incredibly clean and they took the time to talk through their process, cleaning procedures, and aftercare instructions. Definitely would get another piercing done here if I’m back in town!

We had an amazing experience with Scott! Traveling in the area and looking to get a tattoo and he was so accommodating and helpful to get us in in the limited time we were here. Scott was probably one of the friendliest tattoo artists I’ve ever worked with, he was patient as we worked through what we wanted and got us exactly what we were looking for. He did an excellent job and it was exactly what we were looking for and a great quality tattoo. Would highly recommend going here for a tattoo!

Both piercers are lovely and very skilled. I obsessed over the placements for my most recent piercings, and made Rob move them several times. He didnt rush me or make me feel bad for being picky. The place is clean, professional, and very friendly.

I was traveling through Ithaca and I heard about this through word of mouth. I was impressed with how professional the shop is. I was also very pleased with how kind the staff are. I got my first piercing ever and Duane made it quick and comfortable. Straightforward pricing too. Simple and clean. Id recommend anyone in getting their first piercing to come here.

My experience was very unprofessional and I’m highly disappointed. I had scheduled my appointment about a month in advance, I was very excited since it was my first tattoo and then day of when I get there I was told that Nina has called off sick and she sent an email…I totally understand being sick and not wanting to get your clients sick, but via email…?I proceeded to check my email and see she sent the notice at 1:15 when my appointment was at 2. I was driving to the shop by that time, I do not use my phone or check my email when driving. They were made aware of my phone number and should have called. I will not be rescheduling with this shop.

I rarely ever write reviews, but feel as if it was warranted for my experience. The person who was working was extremely rude upon me walking in. I was home for the holidays hoping to change my jewelry and they made me feel incredibly unwelcome. They barely helped me and berated me for not making an appointment. I apologized for not being aware of this policy and still was treated disrespectfully. Please be more kind in the future.

This place is great. It’s clean and they are very there so that we could both get our cartilage pierced in our right ear. 1st we were talked out of everything we wanted, and given 6 months of things we were not allowed to do involving, showering, washing , cleaning, swimming, or ever anyone other than them to change the current piercing. We did everything we were told. My niece took hers out four months after she got the piercing because it never healed. Her ear was so infected for so long that she took it out on her own. I personally left mine in. I am a tattooed and pierced 45-year-old woman that understands cleanliness and how to properly take care of such things. Truth be told my piecing still gets infected on and off and is extremely uncomfortable 75% of the time. I paid well over $200 for 2 piercings and it was a colossal waste of money. I wish I had gone to Claire’s boutique and gotten the gun through my ear because that never gets infected. It’s too much right now

I was pierced by Duane and he did a phenomenal job on my nose piercing! He took his time and explained everything very well. I would highly recommend anyone looking to get a piercing go there. The staff was super nice and welcoming. Very clean and sterile environment. Will definitely be going back for all my future piercings!!! 👍👍

At first the experience was great! My piercer Duane was awesome and walked me through the process and took his time with me. The piercing is not crooked or anything. But he told me that I do not need to clean it and that has caused so much irritation and is causing it to take 2x longer to heal. since I took his professional advice and did not clean it. I just had some friends say they that they went to get the same piercing, at the same time and the piercer Rob told one of them to clean but Duane told my other one that they also don’t have to clean the piercing.It’s obvious that they use clean materials and it’s an overall clean environment. But their aftercare instructions are not consistent at all. I would look into Duanes aftercare instructions for the sake of ALL of his clients.Other than that, I would have given it a 5 star rating if I wasn’t misinformed.

I have had a great experience every time I’ve made the trip to the studio. Rob and Lianna are very professional, and explained everything really well. As a member of the LGBTQ+ community, it can often be intimidating navigating personal services like body mods. I’m so happy to report that the entire team was super welcoming and kind. Can’t recommend them enough!

I got my first ever tattoo about a week ago with Nina, the process was so smooth and every part of the process was communicated well from booking with IP&T through email up through the entire tattooing session. Nina was super sweet and did an amazing job making sure I was comfortable and knowing what to expect with the tattoo, and did a beautiful job with it as well. I will be 100% booking with her again for my next tattoo!

What a cute place. It felt like going over to a friends place to hang for a bit. A really clean, kind, and informative friend! They were upfront about prices and didnt pressure for choices that would cost more. Very supportive of what you want :) They were clear about aftercare - dont touch your piercing. Use saline as needed (which they have available there). Dont touch. Dont touch. Dont touch. Very easy! Great experience, thank you guys. 😊

My business neighbor, Rob, pierced my spawn and I over the last couple of months. I am grateful and always happy when I am greeted with a smile and treated as a peer and in a professional manor each and every time (no matter how many times I go there). I appreciate the insight on placement, and the notes on aftercare. I look forward to getting my double nostril when these masks are more permanently removed!

Got my septum pierced about 6 weeks ago. It was clean, nearly painless, and healed perfectly. I recommend getting the saline spray for aftercare. I felt that there was the perfect balance of professionalism and friendly, relaxed, environment. Ill be back!

He was happy to move the dot until we found the perfect spot, made sure I was comfortable, and helped m pick out the perfect size piece of gold jewelry to fit with my preexisting piercings. My husband and I went for piercings last week (septum and philtrum) and had a great experience! Rob is great! We both love our piercings and will be coming back!

Please visit somewhere else if you would like to get pierced in Ithaca. They charge excessive rates for piercings, and do not tell you how to properly care for them. Piercings should be cleansed with saline regularly, not just soap and water. It ran me about $60 to get my eyebrow pierced by another local piercer, and I was charged probably twice that for lobe piercings. Ive had them for about a year and they are still giving me problems (I understand this is partially an issue on my end, but it is not entirely my fault if i was not told how to properly care for them until I had had them for about six months). Ive also asked around to friends who have more body modifications than me, and the consensus is that they overcharge here, as well as not giving proper instructions for care. Please elsewhere (Ive heard great things about Sacred Arts, which is in Cortland), especially if you are getting anything more than lobes done.Also, I feel bad having to post this, the people working here were very kind, but I think people deserve to know about the issues and quality here :/

Ive gotten 3 piercings by Rob- theyve all healed very well and look beautiful! If youre looking for a clean and safe piercing studio with high quality jewelry, this is definitely the place to go.

Do not make an appointment with this business on the website, especially if you are looking at it on a phone, because you will not see all of the options. On my phone, I saw only two options and booked an appointment for my child using what I saw oh which neither was the correct one. When I called to reschedule, I was informed of this and also told that I would need to bring her birth records and if I canceled, I would be charged a fee. I think this is unfair, especially since I called to make the appointment in the first place and was told to go on the web to book it . I should have been told about the requirements on the phone. This place is a ripoff and a scam.

Second time Ive gone here and results are always amazing. Scott did my forearm piece, it came out perfect and he got it done in shockingly short amount of time considering the level of detail. Cant recommend this place enough. Will be going back.Coming back to edit this. Got my tattoo, was extremely happy with it, but I messed up with its care. Didnt apply aquaphor before bed and tat scraping against the sheets caused peeling and fading. Despite this, Scott touched up his work for free and it looks as good as ever now. Went above and beyond despite my own error. I cant promise the same for everyone who goes there, but this dude takes pride in his work, and you cant put a price on that.If you live in ithaca and you dont know where to go for ink, I promise you, this is the place. Thanks again you guys.

DO NOT COME HEREWorst piercing experience ever.Very unprofessional with a terrible attitude all because I wanted my piercing to be higher than they suggested. Ended up not getting the piercing because the piercer refused service when I wanted my piercing differently than how they suggested. Have never experienced something worse than this, DO NOT COME HERE!!

The place to go in Ithaca for all things piercing and tattoo. Super clean, the piercing rooms even feel sorta like doctors offices to me. Everyone is really professional and fun as well.

They were extremely patient with my jewelers selection. A little curt but that’s just them being professionals. The jewel selection is absolutely beautiful, though a little expensive. But it’s worth it.
