Alexis did absolutely amazing work on my recent tattoo. She had such a light steady hand. The design looks perfect :) great conversations, great work. Although I didn’t get work done by any other artist, I did see the work they did on others and it was such quality work. Will definitely come back and would be open to ANY artist. Can’t find places like this anywhere so get your asses here

This tattoo shop has amazing reviews already, but I must say hands down I would recommend this location over, and over again! If you are looking to get a tattoo or piercing look no further, and come to this hidden gem in Jersey City Heights. Jessie was my tattoo technician. Not only did she listen to what I wanted but, transformed it into a masterpiece. She exceeded my expectations and, ensured I left with a complete tattoo not needing to return to complete it in a different session like other tattoo locations in the area. The shop is not only clean, but very inviting. Not to mention the prices are great! I will be certainly returning for future art pieces. A big thanks again to Jessie!

My friends and I had such a great experience at Blue Bird! We came in for their Friday the 13th event and we will certainly be back. The studio is super clean and well decorated. Each of us worked with a different artist and every single one is so talented, kind and patient. I personally worked with Dani who is also very detail oriented, which I extremely appreciated. It was such a fun place to be! If you’re searching for a studio in or near Jersey City, I would stop looking now and head straight to Blue Bird!

I just want to start off by saying thank you to Jess, my amazing artist who was extremely patient and helped me bring my ideas to life! She is extremely talented, accommodating, and a tattoo guru! My girlfriend and I came in together for separate piercings. I got a Medusa and nostril piercing, and Jesse walked me through all the safety/care measures I needed to know especially as someone with heavy facial hair. Honestly couldn’t have asked for a better experience, all the staff was super kind and helpful. Prices are competitive too! I will definitely be coming back :)

Everyone here was great! Was able to come in quickly with 2 of my girls to get matching tattoos.💕 They made sure that the placement was exact, that we were comfortable, and gave us their advice when asked for. We got tattooed by Jessie and Irv, who were hilarious and made our experience all the better. Definitely recommend!!!!

Came here to get my nose piercing done with my family. I was the most nervous one but Jessie was super gentle and calm my nerves. The place is clean as well.

This was my first time entering the shop. Soon after entering I was greeted by a welcoming staff and amazing vibes. Ive known Jorge for probably about 8 Years now and hes the only person I go to for my tattoos! Did my whole sleeve and has done a few others. When it comes to realistic or traditional, hes down to do it all! They have such a great attitude and make you feel at home! Has been such an honor watching you guys grow! Came here for my first tattoo and got it done by Jessie and she absolutely nailed it.The design she made was even better then the idea I originally thought of. She spent over 5 hours tattooing me and made sure the details were spot on! She made sure that i was comfortable and gave me breaks when I needed it. By far the best Tattoo shop in NJ + NYCI walked in & was greeted by the coolest, most genuine artists. Jessie did a cover up for me today on my neck. I am overflowing with happiness bc it came out even better than I had imagined. Blue Bird is a few blocks away from my job so i would always pass by it. I decided to check out the place and and my first impression is how clean. Everyone in there was very helpful and have excellent communication skills and flexiblities. They took there time to listen to what I want and even to make sure that I was satisfy with the placement. I brought my underage son to Blue Bird tattoo last weekend. We were both a nervous wreck. I was nervous because he’s only 16 and I didn’t know what to expect and he was nervous cause he thought it would be painful.Needless to say, we walked in and were greeted by a very welcoming and professional person, Jessie. She asked a few questions, follow the NJ state guidelines and then made us laugh a bit. We began to let our guard down and felt relaxed. She explained the procedure to my son and before we knew it… it was over! He had his eyebrow piercing just like he wanted.Jessie was informative, friendly and very patient. This is my second tattoo from Jesse and again, I love it! It was a touch up on a tattoo I had for ten years.She kept the integrity the originality while adding a touch of her style. AWESOME!Her new shop is beautifully decorated with the minds of the artists work on the walls and a bit of humor. I just moved to Jersey City a few months ago and was looking for a new shop to go to. I found Bluebird through an instagram search and came across a Halloween special that Jessie was doing for the month of October. Jessie tattooed the cutest monster on me! Shes been doing this for a very long time, and this shows in her work and professionalism. Shes full of knowledge, honest, and very ethical. Shell let you know if something is or isnt a good idea and shell always share suggestions. Ive been to a few shops, mostly because I like trying new things, but this is the ONLY one I find myself coming back to. I always leave happy and fully satisfied. Ive been talking about getting a tattoo for years and finally decided to just do it. When researching artists, I happened across someone who had used Jessie and thought the work was exceptional so I decided to go in for a consultation. Jessie took the time to help me through a design that would be both meaningful and personal as well as advising me what would and wouldnt look good from her years of tattooing experience. After meeting with her I not only wanted her to do my primary piece, but also do a coverup on an old tattoo. I did both tattoos one week apart, the coverup was amazing, providing me with a beautiful tattoo that was not just a coverup, but a very nice tattoo. The primary tattoo is just an outright piece of art, exceeding my already high expectations based on her body of work. Her technique is phenomenal, and her touch was such that I was able to sit through an 8 hour session with no numbing. I would highly recommend her to anyone that is looking for a tattoo, or more importantly, a work of art.

Me and my two daughters always talked about getting matching tattoos together but it never got planned. This summer, day before my daughter was going back to college, we finally decided to get our tattoos done.My college bound daughter found Blue bird Tattoo parlor online and asked us to accompany her to get her and her sister their very first tattoo.When we were driving, I was a bit nervous and anxious if the place is ok or not.Once we got there, I felt comfortable right away. Place is extremely neat and clean. Warm and welcoming staff.My older daughter got her tattoo from Irv. He is an outstanding artist. He helped my daughter design her tattoo and the way he did the tattoo, it was quite painless too. Very friendly guy who makes you comfortable at the get go.My younger daughter got her tattoo from Jess. She is an unbelievable artist. As a mother I was scared and stressed but Jess made my daughter feel confident and comfortable with her choice of the tattoo. She loved her tattoo very much.Few days after my daughters got their first tattoos, I went back and got my tattoo from Jess as well.All three of us are extremely pleased with the result. Had an amazing experience today with Gabriel (dg) and Blue Bird Tattoo. Gabriel tattoos with amazing precision and is so patient in trying to ensure that the design you want is what you get. He does small and fine line tattoos really beautifully which is hard to find unless you travel into the city and pay an arm and a leg. The shop was super clean, welcoming and reasonable in cost. Will definitely be back for more tattoos with Gabriel.

I went to Jessie to get a nose and lip piercing. Both piercings healed faster than any of the 8 other ones I have. She takes extra precaution by using longer bars to ensure enough room for swelling. She gave thorough instructions about the healing process and aftercare, and strictly stated to not downsize until I received approval. She knows the risks of the body rejecting piercings, and informed me how to avoid such from happening. Her professionalism and knowledge, as well as the shop’s, is commendable.I trusted Jessie to give me these piercings because I have trusted her as my tattoo artist for the last 6 years. My first tattoo was a huge piece on the side of my thigh. My experience with her at that first consultation and appointment was enough for me to know she was going to be my personal artist for whatever work I wanted done. She is not the type of artist who will put just anything on anyone, she loves what she does and so she gives her expert opinions on placement, sizing, and design. I have always trusted her opinions as she educates her clients on ink bleeding, for example, and the importance of proper spacing. Just like my piercings, my tattoos (4 large pieces done by Jessie), have healed and aged beautifully as well. I have experienced no fading, and my tattoos look the same as the day I got them. I love to get black and gray work from her, her shading is phenomenal.As I mentioned, she loves what she does. She gets excited when she’s presented cool inspiration photos and looks forward to seeing the final product. My most recent tattoo, two large snakeheads above my knee, had her smiling and giggling with excitement and pride that she just did that! I’m glad she’s opened up her own studio with her good friend George. They DESERVE it.

Jessie, Irv and Carlos were terrific to deal with. We were a group of 3 with no appointments and it couldn’t have gone smoother. The process started with us reviewing our designs and perfecting the artwork. They showed us a digital mock up of the tattoo on our body and than printed a physical copy to ensure it was the correct size and positioning. THANK YOU for the excellent service and experience. They made our very meaningful tattoo mean that much more.

I called blue bird tattoo when i realized my recent conch piercing fell off and needed assistance getting it twisted back in. When I met Jessie, she gave me suggestions (requirements) on what I can do in order to ensure it heals properly since it was irritated as is- and put in a new piercing that worked better. This is my first tattoo since my boyfriend passed away and one of his apprentice’s tattooed me. I went with Irv because my son found this person on IG and can I say I am in awe. Walking in I was nervous being my first tattoo and my first time at a tattoo shop, not long after the artists that worked there started talking to me and my mom. Sooner or later as we kept talking to them we all got comfortable. The environment in there was amazing after a couple of conversations. The tattoo came out great and I really enjoyed getting my first tattoo here and I definitely recommend going here. They didn’t have any problems about the size of the tat, location, and how we wanted the tattoo to look. Overall I had a good time, the tattoo was great, the people were nice, and it was clean.

Had a great experience from start to finish. My friend and I had both had tattoo ideas in mind for months now, and we finally realized we had a chance to make it happen. Called the shop up on a Saturday at 7ish, and had an appointment for the following day at 1 pm.Irv hands down has my respect and appreciation. He was responsive, attentive, and even confirmed via text morning off. He attended to what I wanted (which was more so a murky idea that needed help being shaped) as well as to my much more specific friend’s request. He’s easy to be around, easy to talk to, and has gentle hands. I can’t even say I felt pain (shoulder) — I had no difficulty tolerating it which is big since I’m kind of a chicken 😂If you check out Irv’s work on his Instagram (@irv.inks_), you’ll see his range of style. I look forward to asking him to do more tattoos for me in the future (and Irv, if you’re reading this, my mom will soon be there to touch her foot up!).The shop was beyond clean. Truly. I asked online about a great tattoo shop in my neighborhood. 5 out of 11 folks posted this one was great. I took a walk over to check em out. Such a great space, great layout with great art on the walls, a warm and welcoming staff. Irv answered all my questions and I put a deposit down and set an appointment for 2 days later. Pricing was discussed and very reasonable.Irv was my artist, he was genuinely kind, and hella creative. He gave me his card and i was able to see samples of his work on Instagram. I gave him a logo design to use, and he printed it in 3 different sizes for me to see how it would look on my arm, and let me know how detailed it would be for each size. I appreciated the attention to detail. His workspace was clean. His set-up, his professionalism on point, as was the other artists. You could tell they enjoyed working there, and had a passion for their art. I felt comfortable asking Irv anything about my current tattoo, his artistic history, music, and the shop.My tattoo came out perfect, and as homage to my friend who had passed away, it brought me joy to know it was done in such a shop with great energy. I got lots of info on aftercare, and even came back the next day so Irv could check if my skin had any reactions to the work, or if the covering needed to be replaced.Id definitely recommend this shop to anyone who asks, and Im considering going back again to freshen up an old tattoo.

Carlos is an amazing tattooist. The shop is absolutely beautiful. I had a nice time chit chatting before I got my ink done. I only have one complaint. You tell someone a price per hour and say the artist will do my tatto in 90 min. The tattooist I got took 48 min and I was still charged for 90. Call me petty but its my opinion that is not the way to conduct business. I love my ink it came out beautifully but its not worth the money I spent. My daughter got her tattoo by the same artist and her tattoo is 3 times the size of mine and spent less money I did. It is my opinion this is not the way to do buisness.

I got my piercings done three times here my nose my eyebrow(by jesse) and snakebites (by jorge) and honeslty it was the fastest and cheapest experience by far. the staff is nice and lets you know how to clean the piercings and the ambience is great. it’s my go to spot for piercings!!!

Jorge & Jessie are the best artists ever! They make me feel at home every time I come in or just stop to say hi! Super professional, caring & they do amazing work! Been going to them for years & years & they’re the only ones I trust to do any of my work!

Dg (Gabriel) is an excellent tattoo artist, very careful and very attentive to the details and quality of the tattoo, I got tattooed twice and with him and he was very happy with the results. Highly recommended ✌️.

Jessie did my first tattoo on my foot about 11yearsago. My second one 10 years ago. Now here I am 10years later getting the BEST cover up on my tattoos shedid from the start ( mistakes we make putting peoplesnames on our bodies just to cover them up smh) notonly did she cover two of them up for me but she isworking on my sleeve that is half way done and comingalone awesome I love my colors.. Jessie is superfriendly funny and very professional she made me feelright at home. I love her work and look forward tocontinuing the finishing of my first full sleeve 💗

Got my tattoo done by jessie, it was my first one and she did a wonderful job being patient with me and was very helpful. I got a sword tattoo that was not so big but it had so much detail and looked super realistic. Definitely recommend Jessie for anyone nervous about getting their first tattoo.

Jess did a great job on my tattoo. She took my idea and create art with it. She was very patient the entire time since it’s a pretty big tattoo on my arm which I appreciated since this tattoo is special to me. The color is still bold, and the black lines and shading didn’t get muddy. Thanks Jess!!

Had such a great experience at this shop. From the ambiance to the friendly staff. My wife has had this image in her head for a while. We walked in and artist Irv was able to bring her idea to life. You can tell they care about there clients and there art. While providing open communication and detailed after care instructions. Must check out there IG, their work (Art) speaks for itself.

I had such a great experience at this shop, I am already thinking of the next piece I’d like to have done here. Apart from the artists being undoubtedly experienced and talented, and in addition to the shop being very clean, the artists are all incredibly welcoming and kind. They made me feel comfortable the entire time, I had no doubt I was in good hands. The general vibe of the shop was also really cool and familial, it just felt very different from some of the other shops I’ve been to that come across really cold and pompous. They’re great people and great artists, I couldn’t recommend enough!

Jorge is the best ! He pierced my daughters belly button and also pierced mine and my daughters noses ! He’s always very professional and is sure that everything is sterile. We have had no problems with any of our piercings. He’s thorough and makes sure that he tells you exactly how to clean and take care of the piercing when you leave !
