Heart in Mind Tattoo

I had a wonderful experience getting a tattoo with Marc. I am from out of state and was looking for a place that had a good reputation and do walk ins. He did really good fine line script work for my wrist that is healing beautifully. Marc’s demeanor was continually calm and professional. Note this is a cash only place so make sure to stop at the bank prior! There was an atm on site though and he was kind enough to allow me to go to the bank while my friend was getting her tattoo done. The place is nice and he is considerate to include his clients in his posts if desired :) I would definitely recommend his shop to my family who do live in NJ/NY

I had an incredible experience getting my nose pierced today! The piercer was extremely nice and made me feel comfortable right from the start. He provided detailed advice on the healing and cleaning process, which was super helpful. The piercing itself was quick and practically painless. Overall, he did a perfect job, and I couldnt be happier with the result. Highly recommend!

Recently got 2 tattoos and a piercing done here that i have been wanting for a long time! Marc was super patient, helpful, and professional with all of my requests! While piercing my industrial, he was very thorough about how everything was going to be and spoke to me very calmly and assuringly. And for my tattoos, he was very patient with me and helped me pull through them both in one day! Would 10/10 recommend going here! I can’t wait to come back to get more done!🤗

Marc pierced my tragus and my lobes and it was a great experience! It was very clean and he made a painful piercing much less painful. I had my 3rd lobe piercing done previously from another shop and it was uneven but got it redone here and it looks much better now. He also had an adorable dog that made the experience 10× better. Very happy with my piercings!!

Got my nose septum pierced by Marx. I was very nervous but he helped me ease my mind by walking me through the whole process. He has a very calm energy which probably helped too. Now hoping for a quick healing process. :)

I just spent 5.5 hours on the 1st session of a tattoo that Ive wanted for years. Marc is such an attentive, talented, and professional artist. Ive been looking for the right person to do this work for years and I would go back over and over again. Highly recommend.Update: Went back for another 4 hours to finish this piece and its better than I imagined it would be. I got the snake eye on the 4th of July and the guy that did it was amazing he also replaced the stud on my dermal. Hes definitely my go to for now on. Its bad I dont remember his name but I need ur help to push my tongue ring through I got it most of the way I just need it pushed through the bottom but yea I love this shop.

Recently I went to Heart in Mind to get 2 solid bands tattooed. The receptionist was helpful and gave me all the information I needed upfront. The tattoo was done by Denise, who was super detail oriented and precise. I think Denise spent more time working on the placement and positioning of the bands tattoo than the actual tattooing itself. As a perfectionist, I really appreciated her attention to detail!!!!The tattoo looks amazing. Lines are straight and colored in properly (no blotches) and it is healing nicely.The staff were professional and down to earth. A smooth and fun tattooing experience!

Hearts and Minds is the best place to get a tattoo and piercings they do a great job and great detail I just got two portraits done and still got one more session to do all the artists are great I would recommend you to go and get a tattoo or a piercing I had a great experience and I will continue to go to the artist. I came in for nipple piercings last weekend and could not be happier with the experience and the way they look. Aftercare instructions were thorough yet concise, comprehensive, and I left feeling confident in my part of the healing process. Marc is a top notch tattoo artist! I am currently working on different pieces for my sleeve in progress and he exceeds my expectations every time! His freehand is just as good as his stencil tattooing. He values your input while also adding his own flare for art. He also tattoos my mother and she loves him as well!

I got my nipples piercing by Marc here two weeks ago, no pain or anything and it seems like mine heals pretty fast. People usually feel their pain the next day but I don’t, no bleeding no swollen or anything. I’m truly in disbelief myself. Right now I have three tattoos.. MY first tattoo was from a different shop, where i was over charged and put through a long drawn out punishment of a session. I thought i would never get another tattoo until i found Heart N Mind on instagram. My artist is (RED) and he has given me two solid art pieces, one on my forearm and the other on my chest. Hes always on time.. steady hand, with great line work, shading and best of all he cares about his art. I took my son here for his birthday and first tattoo and this is the best experience I could ever ask for. Denise was our artist and she was wonderful she is a true artist the attention and detail she has is amazing she becomes completely immersed into her work and she makes sure everything is perfect. She was also super nice and the price she gave us was unbelievable. She also even gave us a free second sitting to make sure the final details would be perfect being it was taking longer then we expected and it was his first tattoo so she was concerned about him being comfortable. I got tattooed here by Marc and he was one of the best artists I’ve ever been to. I ended up walking in on a Saturday afternoon; both he and receptionist Jackie were so nice about my design and making me comfortable. Marc’s design was awesome, and not only did he initially draw two sizes for me, but went into detail about his choices and what (colors) would work best on my skin. The tattooing itself was virtually painless (moreso than any other tattoo I’ve gotten) and super quick. I will absolutely be going back to Heart in Mind and Marc in the future. I always come back to Marc and never disappoints. Got a small tat by him a while back and def going back to start my sleeve eventually. Ive done piercings with him before as well and just recently got my septum. He is always on point and he guides you through the whole process making you feel super comfortable.

Came out better than I imagined. Was a nice simple template and Marc did his thing. Cleaned it up and allowed the tattoo to pop. The customer service from the go was amazing in the shop and all the artist there treat you like a close friend. I definitely will be coming back!

This was my first major tattoo, I wanted something feminine but also slightly tribal. The studio setup was simple and comfortable.Lucia went above and beyond to make my concept a reality, from start to finish! I really recommend her as an artist. I cant wait to see what it looks like once its been colored because the line work is so pretty already!

Causally walking down the block after getting my eyebrows done and I walked in to inquire about a tattoo. Since there was an opening I got it done right away ! Wow what an amazing experience!!! Marc was awesome and did amazing especially for last minute. And the music was amazing. #wuisforthechildren. It was perfect and relaxing I almost fell asleep in the chair 😂

Went to get my nose re-pierced here and had a great experience! Mark is awesome. The receptionist first told me I’d have to come back in 30 min since I had walked in without making an appointment, but Mark took me in immediately since there was no wait. He also made suggestions on the jewelry that would best suit my skin sensitivity. Additionally, he gave thorough cleaning/care tips for the pierced area which I had missed in my past experiences at different piercing studios. I was in and out within a few minutes! Highly recommend :)

I went with a friend to get our ears pierced. I got my conch done and my friend got both of her helix’s done. I called ahead and made an appointment the same day. Very friendly and explained after-care gave two options either saline wound wash or unscented soap. Marc was our piercer. He was patient with both of us when deciding the placement of the piercing. It was a great experience, 10/10 would recommend:)

Marc was kind of obnoxious. Made it seem like I needed to book an appointment when the 2 days I went, no one came in to ask for him. He took a really long time and tried to recommend adding his own touch to what I wanted, like bro, I had a specific piece. Place smelled like dog which was kinda off putting. The art from here is underwhelming so go in with a specific design. Color work nothing to rave home about. Check the instagram to judge tor yourself. If you want actual art go somewhere else.Contrary to the owners response to my original review about not getting a piece done, I did end up getting tattooed there and made sure it was something that could have easily been stenciled.

I had a great tattooing experience with Marc. You can rest assured here that they are talented, knowledgeable artists who know what they’re doing and keep the space clean.I got a good sized tattoo of a tiger on my rib/sideboob, and Marc helped me every step of the way from designing, choosing the size, to the aftercare instructions. He was professional and made sure I was comfortable the whole time and he paid attention to detail (clearly - the tattoo is perfect.)I made my appointment straight through Instagram DM’s too, it was really easy.One thing I recommend is either taking public transit or walking, because parking is hard to get (obvi - it’s in jersey city on central ave).

Have 2 tattoos from this shop and both great experiences. Marc did my second tattoo which was a dragon of my own design on my ankle. Originally I got it in white ink, but after 6 months I realized I wanted it more prominent. Marc worked with me to find the color and effect I liked best and he took the time and attention to make sure it was done to the style I had wanted. Really appreciate the care and attention this place gives to their customers. Super clean and very transparent with pricing, whether it’s a new tattoo, touch ups, or add ons. I got a pretty specific and detailed cover up/addition from Marc at Heart In Mind Tattoo and it was one of the most fun experiences I’ve had at a tattoo shop! This is my third tattoo and it was done in my left inner bicep so it was decently uncomfortable, but you have to suffer a bit for anything that is worth it! And boy was it worth it!! As a cover up/addition, it was very difficult to conceptualize what I wanted and what Marc could do, but I trusted him and I am ECSTATIC with the result. The whole process, from emailing my questions, scheduling my appointment, tattoo day, and aftercare instructions was fantastic. The team answers quickly and the studio is very clean. Marc is amazing and genuinely wanted to know what I wanted. Even though cover ups require specific things (like double the surface area, optional colors, etc) to be a complete cover up, Marc took everything I had in mind and made it real. I love it! In addition to tattooing and piercing, Marc has an apprentice and watching him teach her and show her how to cover up a difficult tattoo like mine showed me how professional Marc is and how much he cares about perpetuating the culture of body art and art in general. He’s also very easy to talk to and I never felt more comfortable while getting tattooed before. I found my new tattoo home if I ever want to get more or if my friends ever want work done! Highly, HIGHLY recommend!

Mark was my artist and he was great. Quick and light technique while being precise and complete. He was very helpful with assisting me make small choices and changes to help me figure out what exactly I wanted. He was very friendly too, even helping me decide my next netflix binge. The tattoo looks fantastic and wasnt painful at all. Ill definitely go back for more. The shop has a great vibe to it and I felt very comfotable and relaxed.

I just recently went to Heart in Mind Tattoo for the first time, but for my third tattoo. I have to say that it was a great experience. From my consultation over the phone and my tattooing experience, it was awesome. Marc was so friendly over the phone and he made me feel comfortable in person. He took his time with my tattoo and he discussed it well with me before he began tattooing. He definitely gave me a good price as well. The rest of the staff was also very friendly. My friend came along with me and she loved the work that Marc did on me and she is returning to do her next tattoo. I definitely will be returning for another tattoo, as well as a piercing I have in mind. I have already been here several times but today I was pierced by the wonderful Marc. He was super helpful choosing the jewelry for my piercings (daith and second forward helix). He did not rush even though the shop was busy and answered any questions/concerns I had. He was super meticulous with his piercing method and talked me through the whole thing. I look forward to going back for more piercings with Marc as soon as these heal.(Piercing prices were NOT ridiculous either)

Heart in Mind has super friendly staff and Marc was nice enough to fit my sisters and I in for matching tattoos with the awesome Dahvees! He had great attention to detail and made sure our tattoos were perfectly centered on our arms. They made sure we were comfortable and played great music the whole time as well. I recently got my first tattoo at Heart N’ Mind Tattoo shop in Jersey City. Travis is will welcome you and make you feel at home instantly and will have you laughing as soon as the door opens. Marc the tattoo artist is simply amazing. Professional, very friendly, understanding, and willing to work with you. His freehand is out of this world and even with a rough idea you have in your head Marc manages to create an original piece catered to you. Point blank period, if you are a local resident, there is no other shop you should be going too. They work with all sorts of deadlines and are very upfront about pricing, time, and etc. 10/10.

After much research I decided to seek Marc out for my first large tattoo. I had a great experience. My tattoo came out better than I had pictured in my mind. Marc is very attentive and super talented, plus he let me take over his Netflix for the duration. All the staff was very nice and friendly. 10/10 would recommend.

Had my 3rd appointment with Denise today. She has done a cover up piece on my hand and added additional work to my other hand which I’m very happy with. Her attention to detail and ability to freehand bespoke pieces is really cool and the result is always a unique striking piece. Also had my septum pierced at the shop and that went smoothly and healed quickly. HeartinMind is my go to shop for all future work now. Mark and his team are really accommodating and skilled.

I have been looking around for an artist to start working on a sleeve with me. Dahvees spent time asking me questions and getting to know me and my likes and dislikes. This is only partially done, but GREAT detail and art work.Dahvees is a great artist and very professional! Highly recommend

This place is great. Mark is a true professional. I love my nose piercing! I have vasovagal syndrome and I got faint after the piercing. It happens to me all the time, and Mark was so patient and kind about it, and he helped me feel better. I highly recommend Heart in Mind.

I got a navel piercing today with Marc and he is honestly the best. This was my second time getting a navel piercing, as the first time resulted in a mistake and lots of pain (first time was at a different place). As you can imagine I was a little bit more nervous this time, but Marc really helped me feel comfortable and assured as he was explaining what he was using, doing, EVERYTHING. I immediately felt a positive difference and I strongly recommend him.

Marc the shop owner is very friendly and most importantly professional. My fiancé and I have gotten over 25 pieces collectively from him ranging from little pieces to half sleeve sized pieces and we are always more than happy with all of his work. Just got my nose ring swapped from a stud to a hoop by Mark at Heart in Mind. He was friendly and professional, taking the time to make sure my new hoop was aligned perfectly, and explaining everything while he worked. Just got my belly button pierced here! Marc was very nice and positive throughout the whole thing. Heart in Mind Tattoo has very professional staff. I walked in to schedule a tattoo appointment with Marc but he stated he was able to take me right then and there because he was available so I went for it! He was very patient and accommodating during the whole process. He was able to answer every single question I had and he made me feel comfortable by putting on a movie to watch while I had my tattoo done since I was nervous. Did cute little matching tattoos with me and my sister. It was very spontaneous and it was kind of late when we called. But thankfully he was able to take us in. The place was pretty clean and the guy who tattooed us was really nice. It was kind of on the expensive side for the size of it but still cute and good service so it worked out.

Went here for my first set of lobe piercings and I couldnt be happier with how they came out. Im not great with needles, but Marc was real understanding and talked me through every step of the process. Definitely making this my first stop if I plan to get more work done in the future.

I went to Heart in Mind over the weekend to get my first tattoo. I stopped by the shop Friday and was greeted by Dahvees he gave me an informative consultation and we set up my appointment for the next day. I went in on a Wednesday with a screenshot of an image from Naruto and while I was waiting, Tyler was very accommodating, making conversation and easing some of the nerves I had about being in a new tattoo shop. I came to Heart in Mind for my first tattoo and I really could not be happier with it and the process of getting it done. I knew exactly what I wanted in my head, but found it hard to describe out loud. I consulted with Marc and within one conversation he crystallized my idea into a beautiful image. This is honestly the best tattoo parlor Ive ever been to. Netflix as you get your tattoo and trendy mainstream music to keep you in the zone during your tattoo and to keep you relaxed. This place is great! Awesome music and vibe. This week I got a tattoo with Marc and I am very happy with it. We sat down and talked about what were the best options since my tattoo was a slight coverup. He made me feel like one of his friends and I immediately trusted his artistic eye. I came to get my VCH and HCH redone by Marc as they closed some years ago. The person who originally pierced me placed my HCH in front of my VCH which cause the jewelry to migrate (incorrect placement). Marc was really professional when he inspected the area, and kept me informed of what I can get, and he will do etc. He did an AMAZING job making me feel comfortable, while keeping his air of professionalism. He redid the VCH and did my HCH properly. Now the piercings look EXACTLY how I imagined them. I am thoroughly happy, and WILL DEFINITELY GO BACK to get a Triangle piercing done by Marc. They are amazing!

Originally I was just going to get an outline of Cinderella’s Castle in Disney World with a couple of fireworks going off in the background, but after mentioning I don’t want to take more time up than allotted to us and showing him a few more pictures he told me to not worry, his main concern was giving me the tattoo I really wanted. Wow! Did he deliver! My tattoo looks like a sticker. I am absolutely in love! Although I think the piece is perfect, he would like me to come back so that he can put some more work into. I will absolutely return to him for additional pieces and for two pieces I would like recolored. I can’t wait to see what the “finished” product will look like! Thank you so much, Dahvees! This place is by far the best experience I have had getting a tattoo. I struggled a bit trying to figure out exactly how I wanted to have my tattoo but Marc helped me through the whole process and the tattoo came out better than I anticipated. I am planning on getting more tattoos and this is where I will be going!

My dad and I had come in late to see if Dahvees could squeeze both of us in for small tattoos about an hour before they closed. He was with a client at the moment but told us he could tattoo us after they closed, which was so nice of him. This was my first tattoo and I was in a different state so I wanted it to be memorable. Check out his Instagram, he can not only tattoo clear saturated lines, but he is an incredibly talented artist and can help you customize an amazing tattoo or tattoo the hell out of an idea you come in with. I just debuted my half sleeve tattoo in Hawaii and I lost count how many people (men and women, young and old!) stopped by to comment of how beautiful the colors and detail were. Thank you, Marc! My son and I have traveled from NYC to Jersey City three different times because we know he will do an exceptional job and balance his artistic vision along with exactly what we want. I went here for my first tattoo - they are amazing. Dahvees was my tattoo artist. He took my reference images and all of my rambling and turned it into something amazing. Marc and davee are fabulous people, Marc did my half sleeve free hand forest tattoo and Davee did my friends touch-up tattoo and both of them turned out real nice.Also they are super reasonable considering some of the tattoo artist in NYC area.

Went here for a simple heart tattoo on my nape!! Gosh, Marc nailed it! No pain, very gentle, and very easy!! He helped me chose the right color and he perfected the shape and the spot where I want to have that simple heart on!I will come back for more tats!!!

Where do I begin?! I wish I could give a higher rating than 5 starts. Theres a reason this amazing studio has the amazing reviews it does. The studio its self is clean and neat, the staff are all very friendly. My best friend and I decided to get matching tattoos. Ive known her since I was only months old, here we are 27 years later. Although we wanted something simple, we still wanted to find the perfect place. THIS PLACE IS IT! My friend flew all the way in from Germany where we are from, although Ive lived in the states for years. This was a special moment, it being my friends first tattoo. From the beginning the lovely women at the front desk made us feel welcome. We had our tattoos done by Jainee. SHE IS AMAZING! She was so kind and patient, helping us pick a size of tattoo, as well as explaining thoroughly and slowly so I could translate to my best friend in German. She was so clean and organized. I mean CLEAN. Her tattooing skills are impeccable. We had simple tattoos, but her lines were crisp, precise, and just perfect. She knows what shes doing. I wouldnt go anywhere else to get a tattoo. If youre even considering getting one, this is the best place, with a doubt!

Dahvees from the start was respectful and open ears to my ideas. He was willing to work with me and brought my tattoo to life in a way I never thought was possible. Worked around my schedule and stayed late to finish my piece. Definitely recommend this place to anyone looking for a devoted tattoo artist that will do their best work for you.

Marc Rubiano is an incredibly talented rare find (IG= @artbymarctattoo ). He did a custom floral back piece for me that looks like fine art, all freehand! He cleared out huge blocks of time so that we could get it done, is accommodating and informative, professional and hillarious, and keeps a clean shop. Plus the deposit to secure a specific date/time is very affordable and he is happy to recommend the other artists if hes booked (IG= @dahvees_tattoos & @jaintheartist ). I cant say enough good things. Im already working with him again on a sleeve and will be a regular customer for as long as hell have me 🙏♥️

Got my ear pierced (Helix) and it came out awesome! Marc was very knowledgeable and professional.

I had Jainee, and she was very nice and focused on the design. She was helpful and did a great job!Edit: while the above is true, I was a newcomer to tattoo shops and it was my first tattoo, unknowingly at the time, I agreed to a ridiculous price for three quarter sized glyphs. No coloring nor was it their artwork. I was told by several tattoo experts that I could’ve gotten those glyphs for $25 each ANYWHERE else, instead they charged me $50 each and added a tax. (Thankfully I had the money LMAO). Also the artists were clearly very high. Difference between 420 friendly and unprofessional artistry while under the influence. Good work, but very unprofessional!

I generally dont leave reviews but for this place i have to. I went in yesterday for a walk in tattoo and i believe my artist was named dahvees (im horrible with names, better with faces). I gave him my design and it took about an hour for my tatt to be finished. I cant express how happy i am with the results!!! My tattoo is beautiful! The shop is very clean and the artists are super friendly. If i knew how to post a picture i would. The whole experience was amazing overall and i will definitely be returning!! I had such a great experience with this shop. From honest feedback at consultation, quick appointment making, and great experience at time of the tattoo - I highly recommend this shop. Especially Denise, she did such amazing work, can’t recommend them enough!

I love this shop. The staff is awesome, I love all their personalities. The first time I came here was for a tattoo my wife was getting with Jain. Jain is so friendly and made my wife feel very comfortable while getting her tattoo. She got an outline of the country shes from with her City colored in. Jain did an amazing job; when I saw how perfect the lines were I was amazed. Even the tiny details show up. We went back to get my tattoo. I got it with Marc the head artist. I uploaded pictures, its a rose whip from an anime cartoon I love (Yu Yu Hakusho). He was very friendly and professional. I let him freehand my tattoo and he did an amazing job. He was excited to do my tattoo which made me feel excited to let him do it. The atmosphere was great and the customer service was awesome all the way to the door. My wife also got another tattoo with Jain on this visit which Jain freehanded also. This shop is full of skills and talent and theyre not cocky at all like other shops Ive visited. Me and my wife will continue going here. I will continue filling up my arm with all my tattoo ideas and my wife will be doing all her tattoos here also. This place is so good I go all the way from uptown in The Bronx to Jersey. That should say it all. Thank you so much to all of you at Heart in Mind.

I would go back to this shop for all my tattoos from now on! Marc was great with my first tattoo today of a lotus mandala! He took extra care and put extra careful detail into my tattoo, I would highly recommended this shop to any and everybody!!!

I love this place! They are very friendly, clean and a great atmosphere. Marc has almost finished my sleeve and Im so happy with it, the detail is amazing. Been there three times already and will be going back to get the last of my sleeve finished and many more!

I emailed Heart in Mind for a tattoo appointment, I received and quick response. I called to confirm the appointment with Dahvees. I sent pictures of where and what I wanted. He quickly said he would come up with some ideas. When I went in he showed me two fonts and found one better than the one I wanted. I am the most indecisive person ever, he was able to advise me on the size and placement. I absolutely love my tattoo and will definitely recommend people to go check out Dahvees.

Super pleased with Marc’s work ! Although it was a relatively simple piece, he managed to add a few subtle touches that made it quite unique. His flexibility with scheduling was much appreciated. Highly recommend and will surely be coming back in the future.
