I came in as a walk-in for a septum piercing and tattoo and they got me in right away. Kim, the piercer, was great. She explained everything she was going to do and gave thorough instructions on how to take care of my piercing. Jenalyn gave me a great fine line tattoo. She was very kind and explained everything very well. It was a great first tattoo experience. I even got a sticker for my first tattoo lol. I would come back!

My husband and I had a great experience today at Close Encounters! Ashley was awesome. She perfectly brought our ideas to life. We will definitely be back! :)

Got my tongue pierced recently. Kim the piercer was very nice, she explained everything, however, my piercing is definitely anything but center. I asked her if it looked a little to the right and she said no it’s fine. Now that the swelling is gone, it’s clearly not in the middle.

Awesome place, super rad staff that meshes as a family. I walked in on a spur of the moment while my kids were out of town with an idea and Ashley took it and ran with it! We just hopped right in as she had time and her work is amazing!!

I had the initials of my grandchildren added to a current tattoo, the Helm of Awe, and the time and initials of my stillborn grandson. It was over so fast I barely had time to enjoy it! The additions are perfect! This parlor has a relaxed and welcoming vibe. Very clean and professional. This will be my reminder of the time I drove to Kansas, 15 hours, to see my daughter and grandchildren.

Call close encounters tattoo and spoke to a gentleman who said I could come in and buy a labret Piercing because I needed it for my piercer because she ran out of the length that I needed came in and was told I needed to wait an hour to talk to the piercer came in another hour later and was told that the piercer does not sell her jewelry unless she was the one doing the piercing. I got Medusa for $60 at twisted Apple and in close encounters was charging $80.Poor communication between workers and definitely more expensive than Twisted Apple and I would highly recommend twisted apple over them because my piercer was super nice and understand to me and she’s done 4 piercings on me

Daniel did an amazing job with me and my friends tattoo. It was her first time and he did great at making her feel comfortable. He was really quick but it still came out amazing and really cute. Im going to see him again this month for another tattoo! The vibe was laid back and comfortable. Reasonably priced as well.

My husband booked a full sleeve to be done in multisession we left a 300$ deposit, we booked with Clayton. we showed up on the day of the appointment 2/23/2023 and we are informed that the artist left for the day due to health problems, they did not call or inform us of this and my husband paid $60 worth of numbing cream from their shop, that he applied the cream 90 minutes prior to the appointment. My husband schedule kept changing so we ask for our money back considering we did not cancel or no show the appointment. They refused to give the deposit back so we will be filling in small claims court to get our money back, hopefully this will cause a change in their policy.

I gave Andrea a very general idea of what I wanted and let her work her artistic genius. She did an incredible job and I am so happy with how my tattoo turned out! Thank you Andrea! I will be coming back soon for another one.

Great experience! I went two years ago and still remember how great they were so I had to leave a review. The lady who did my piercing was so sweet.

I got a sternum tattoo here by Daniel. Absolutely in love with the effort and outcome of it. The lines are flawless and detailed. Highly recommend this shop to anyone. Everyone is like a family and it’s so entertaining to talk to everyone. I’ve already made another appointment!

I had a great experience with the woman who tattooed me, although one male worker made a few sexual remarks that made me and my husband super uncomfortable. Very uncalled for and super unprofessional on his part

Called to find out if they charged to have a Tragus piercing removed and the guy on the phone told me it would cost $40 to remove the piercing, which is absolutely asinine!! I can see charging like $10, but 40?!?! I called around to the shops in Manhattan and they ALL said they would remove it for free. It will cost me less than $40 to drive from JC to Manhattan and back.

Wonderful and friendly staff, was a fun and enjoyable environment. Andrea did my tattoo she was awesome to work with! Will be returning for future tattoos.

Im on my 6th tattoo from shay and andrea! I cant say enough good things about my experience. Ive stopped by just to chat and chill in their shop. Its a super relaxed environment, will definitely keep going until I leave kansas or run out of empty space🤙

The staff is always friendly and willing to work with you, the prices seem to be the lowest in town which is crazy because the artists are some of the best in the state, and when you walk in the door the whole shop just has a great vibe and look

Just got 3 tattoos done about 3 day’s ago and I noticed I got a rash and went to the emergency room today and come to find out I got cellulitis idk if y’all poked me with dirty needles or what but definently not going to be back there for a while
