I have had multiple tattoos done here. They have great atmosphere, and great artists. Kris has done 2 for me and Tucker has done my entire leg sleeve. If want GREAT tattoo go to studio 617.

The artists at this studio are exceptional. I have pieces by Kris and Mikey and can’t wait to return for more stunning artwork.Tattoo day was super smooth and they both provided great conversation to pass the time. High quality aftercare products were given and the studio was quickly responsive when I had a question. I honestly had the best experience at Studio 617 from the consult to the tattoo appointment. I am naturally a very introverted and shy person, but I felt beyond comfortable during the entire process. Kris was very kind, informative, and gets to know you personally. He really cares about his clients and the work that he does. The tattoo that he did on me is phenomenal and unique. I am so happy with the outcome and look forward to my next appointments. All of the artists are kind and make you feel comfortable.

Kris and Olivia do amazing work, everytime I’m in there, there is great conversation and even better tattooing being done, they treat every customer as a friend, and make sure each person gets what they want at a great price!

Absolutely love this place I have gotten all my tattoos from Kris. He is so personable when it comes down to your tattoo. He always makes sure he creates the exact vision you have for your tattoo and that not only he likes it but you love it. She provided timely responses and great communication and customer service. The pricing is a little on the high side compared to other studios but my feeling is you get what you pay for. I wanted to be sure I chose an outstanding artist at a high skill level. Putting a tattoo on your body is a big investment so choose wisely! I chose studio 617 because the piece I was having done was realism and a lion with roses partial sleeve, Thomas Hunt was in town traveling to their studio accepting appointments, and he specializes in realism tats and loves to do animals. We met at consult and I knew he was my guy. Boy was I blown away! 🎉💥Thomas was by far 5 plus stars! ⭐️He was on point with knowing exactly what I wanted. It was a slight cover up and he nailed it. Clean lines, excellent skill level and just completely outstanding job. 🔥He killed it! I met some of the others, Kris, Mikey, Tucker, everyone was so friendly and fun to interact with. 😎Just an all around professional and fun group of all star artists that are just amazing. Thomas made me feel comfortable and very at ease. I knew I was in good hands with him! Brittany came in and checked on me a couple times to see how it was going. She was so lovely🌻Thomas got into his groove with some music on 🎶and just went at it. Just under 4.5 hours and I had an amazing partial sleeve. I am super thrilled with the piece! I have been here several times now and the staff are absolutely friendly and amazing all around. I primarily use Mikey Newblood and everything he touches turns to gold! I am blown away by the talent that is in this shop. If you leave upset with your tattoo, then you didn’t leave from studio 617. Any chance I get to talk about this shop I will!

If anyone needs amazing tattoo work with amazing, down to earth, friendly and kind artists check them out. My experience here was absolutely phenomenal. Kris ford did so much more than I ever could have hoped for or imagined on my tattoo. They will definitely be my new home shop.

Kris absolutely rescued me. I had gone to a very highly rated studio in Knoxville for coverup work on a tattoo, and I was devastated with the result. I went to Kris for help with a rework of the coverup, and I don’t have enough wonderful things to say about him and his studio. Kris listened with respect and kindness. His studio is clean and welcoming. I interacted with all of the other artists, and they are genuinely great people. Getting art here is a whole experience that I cannot recommend enough.

This is THE BEST tattoo parlor in Greater Knoxville. From booking to completion, the whole experience was a breeze. I received a BEAUTIFUL tattoo from Tucker. His design was perfect. And, he had the lightest hand imaginable. The shop was VERY clean. It has an amazing atmosphere and vibe. Everyone was super friendly. They even tried to buy me Sonic when they went on a snack run. I cant recommend Studio 617 enough!

Long, long ago, I searched high and low for an amazing artist to carry out my colorful ideas. I found Kris Ford and he exceeded all my expectations over the years. He worked with me to create a sleeve I couldn’t imagine… not to mention chest and calf tattoos. He’s also been such a fun, caring person to get to know during our many 5-6 hour sessions and I’ve also really enjoyed getting to know the other artists too, they are like family there which makes for an amazing atmosphere. I’d really love to get art from those other incredibly talented artists in the shop also, only the best tattooers create in Studio 617!!!!

I have been tattoos by Kris 3 times and the tattoos are amazing with such details. I get compliments on them all of the time. The studio is clean and has a very friendly atmosphere. I have also tattooed by Tucker for one of their First Friday events. Wonderful tattoo experiences with both artists and amazing work. I just got a piece done by Kris yesterday and it was by far the best experience I’ve had with a tattoo shop. He listened to my ideas and used his creativity to come up with the most amazing tattoo. Been coming to Studio 617 for years! I really love the vibe of the shop. It’s very laidback but obviously super professional. Every artist is top notch. I see Mikey and have enjoyed each and every session as we complete a large scale deep sea design on my leg. I highly recommend this shop to anyone for any style of tattoo. They kill each and every one and have fun while doing it!

To date I have gotten 12 tattoos done at Studio 617, with 3 more scheduled in next 3-4 months. You won’t find better artists or artwork in Knoxville area. Kris Ford has done most of my work - Pirates of the Caribbean Sleeve on right arm and Star Wars Sleeve on left arm (still in progress). Mikey did a full color pirate Mickey Mouse on my left calf.I have people stop me daily to comment on my tattoos about how amazing they are and wanting to know who did them and where. People are blown away at the level of detail.The atmosphere at the shop is super laid back and chill. It’s very clean and professional looking when you walk in. All 4 artists in the shop do incredible work and get along great, which makes the vibe in the shop really enjoyable.Without question this is the best tattoo business in East Tennessee area and would recommend them to anyone who wants to have high quality art on their bodies. My feeling is if you are going to put something permanent on your body, make sure you have someone you can trust and has a proven history and portfolio that backs up they can provide you the quality and style you are looking for.

Not only does their work speak for itself, their personalities make what some would call a... painful experience super chill and down right pleasant. Soon Ill have something from everyone over there, but in my absence go see them for yourself and nab an awesome work of art from anyone in their crew. You will not be disappointed.

I have been going to Studio 617 since 2013. Kris was not my artist at the time, but he and Michael were always super cool and made me feel welcomed. Throughout the years my relationship grew with them and when my artist moved to a different city Michael and Kris took me in like a little sister hahaha I have watched Kris and his group grow and change looks, all of which I have loved! Artist have come and go, but their values have always remained the same! They are ARTISTS! Artist who value their customers and what they want as a tattoo!I get compliments and questions all the time on my ink! I carry their cards with me at all times! I do this because I know no matter what artist you go to, you will be treated respectfully and I know the worth of their art work. I may not be able to go to their competitions, but I have always been their biggest cheerleader! I have seen how time and effort this whole group gives to not just “do a tattoo” they want it to stand out! Be rad! They actually love the work they do and they are PROUD! You will not walk away disappointed!

I shopped around and finally, thankfully found this place! I received my first tattoo at the age of 60 years old. My tattoo artist, Olivia Manion was professional, knowledgeable, helpful and creative! After 2 years my tattoo is still vibrant in color and am now hoping to get my 2nd tattoo soon! I highly recommend Studio 617 for anyone wanting a professional and excellent piece of wearable art. Just do it, you won’t regret it. The shop is clean with cool atmosphere and awesome staff. I have quite a few tattoos already and I’ve been to a lot of shops, Studio 617 is definitely the most professional and friendly place that I’ve been to, I got this done by Mikey and I absolutely love it and already have another appointment booked, don’t let the long booking times discourage you, it’s totally worth the wait.

I went into my appointment with Kris with an entirely different idea about what I wanted in a tattoo to honor my grandmother. He came back with something completely different while still respecting the spirit I was trying to capture. I trusted his creative direction and I’m so glad I did! I get compliments everywhere I go, and I love that I have a permanent reminder of my favorite person.

Absolutely amazing experience! I got my first medium size tattoo here and I can’t wait to continue to work with them. Kris did both my thigh tattoo and inner bicep tattoo. He listened to exactly what I wanted and went out of his way to ensure the sizing was what I wanted and was upfront about everything including costs so there were no surprises after. His shop is so well taken care of, I did not think I was even in a tattoo shop. Best shop in town in my opinion!

I had a great time getting tattooed by Mikey! He freshened up my right sleeve and and gave me a beautiful, watercolor styled dove.

If you want an incredible tattoo, this is the place to go. They do consultations in advance to match you with the right artist for your style. They talk through what you want and where, go over any changes they think need to be made, and really just spend the time to be able to create an individual tattoo unique to you. They are all super friendly and love to joke around and put people at ease. I highly recommend them!!

Extremely talented and kind staff. Facility is pristine and the cleanest I have ever experienced. They’ll work with you and make sure you are 110% happy with the work before starting the tatto process. Liv is my go to person for tattoos and beyond a master of the craft.

Haven’t been officially tattooed by them yetttt, but I’ve been trying for a few years now, but life happens and I have to put my money towards my house or kids, but that never stops kris or Michael from responding to me even tho I haven’t officially set a date because of life, their work is awesome and they’re dope af in general as people! @knoxvillehorror group allowed me to meet Micheal, and kris was just amazing right off rip! Hopefully I get the chance to get tattooed by ANY of these talented artists!

Mikey gave me my favorite tattoo in the world. There was so much color and detail. I brag about it to everyone. It was super professional and fancy in the shop too! All of their artists have different unique styles. Studio 617 or nothing. They got me kickin my feet n twirling my hair.

So far I’ve completed a consult with Olivia! I’ll be doing another consult to make sure we are on the same page and then going to be booking with her. She took my dream sleeve piece and has turned it into a masterpiece. I’m so excited to finally have it on me by the end of the year. She was so professional. She’s very creative. She is very delicately handed, and she listens very well to any request you have. She mixed her own colors for my tattoo, and worked with me on any adjustments I requested. She also gave me feedback whenever I asked for her opinion which I highly value. This is the cleanest and most professional tattoo shop that Ive ever visited. Kris Ford is an incredible artist with insane tattooing skills. Ive gotten a couple large tattoos by Kris and have been amazed both times at not only the job that he did, but also how well they healed. I plan on getting several more tattoos here. Havent had the opportunity to get tattooed here but want to get with tucker soon and get some of his work. Also, Ive chatted with the owner (Kris ford) and hes a great guy. It was about body mods and suspension stuff but nevertheless, hes kind and always responded quickly. Im sure that translates to his craft of tattooing and running the shop.

I went to 617 awhile ago with a friend for a drive they did, staff is super friendly and professional! All the artist work is very well done and versatile on their styles, very good place to get work done and look forward to booking some sessions with each of the Artist!

My son and I were at studio 617 May15 for our first tattoo. Brittany the office manager is awesome to work with and very helpful! Tucker was the artist that did our tattoos and did a great job. He listens to you about what you want and is helpful in making suggestions on what he thinks would look best! In the end it’s your body and your tattoo so he will do whatever you want. Very professional and clean. Everything he used was unwrapped in front of us and you didn’t have to worry about cleanliness or things being sterile! I would highly recommend studio 617 to anyone wanting to get their first tattoo or add to what they have. You may have to wait for awhile to get in but in my opinion it was worth the wait!

I just got a tattoo done by Olivia Manion and I couldn’t be happier. She listened to what I wanted at our consultation and explained the process of the day of the tattoo. My artist was Mikey Newblood. He was professional and upfront. He told me what he was using and opened his packages for the needles next to me so I knew they weren’t used. His work was flawless and I couldn’t be happier. Brittany at the front was amazing and professional. I met the shop owner Kris and another artist as well, Tucker. I felt the entire experience was top notch and I will be back for a second in the future to finish the work. I can’t express how much I enjoyed this studio.

Everyone here is an amazing artist. I get tattooed by the award winning Olivia and she is so nice and really takes the time to make sure youre happy with your tattoo. You know when you go to 617 youll be getting an original piece of art, not something off of pinterest.

Studio 617 is amazing everyone is super nice from the time you step in the door till you leave you feel completely welcomed! I personally used Mikey Newblood due to his color and love of all things nerd culture. My initial consultation was 15 mins but I was there almost an hour talking. My first appointment was line work and was it absolutely perfect then my second was color. Mikey took his time and truly gave me what I wanted and more! I will be going back in a couple weeks to get the other side of my arm done and I can’t wait! I would recommend this shop to anyone go in open minded and let the artist do what they do best and you will not regret it!

From the communication to set up a consultation to the professional nature of the entire staff on the day of service, I cannot state how pleased I was. Although professional, this studio was also laid back and friendly. My artist, Liv, is truly that - an artist. Her drawings and recommendations exceeded expectations, and Im glad I found her incredible talent. Definite return customer and could not recommend this business enough!!

Studio 617 is probably the best all around shop. Their line work is clean and their color shading is both bright and consistent.

I got my second tattoo from Julia today. She is an amazing artist. Everyone at this shop is really nice and will talk with you even if they are not tattooing you. Susan at the front desk is very sweet and attentive. The shop is also super clean. Really can’t go wrong getting a tattoo from here.

Ive been going to this place for a little over a month now. Kris has done 3 tats for me, and all I can say isGreat!!!. The shop is bright and clean. Kris has given me exactly what I asked for, unless he thought it wouldnt look good. His suggestions have turned out better than the ideas I started with. He has a really gentle touch and would be great for a first tattoo. I was actually falling asleep while he was doing the first one I had him do. I would highly recommend this place to anyone, and I have.

To be completely honest, Studio 617 has the cleanest and most high quality tattoos around here. The tattoo artists there can do many different styles wonderfully. Ive had all my tattoos done there and Im beyond pleased! Everyone at the shop are super cool and give their work a full 110% effort. If youre wanting some bad ass work, you wont be disappointed if you go to Studio 617.

Tucker gave me plenty of time and discussion for the consultation and delivered on a beautiful piece that fit all I was going for! Even up to the last details on the day of the work he was agreeable and helped me intelligently work through the details. His lettering work is the best, and rightfully so with all his trophies and awards. As a first timer, I had a lot of ridiculous questions and ignorance and they all helped me through patiently and kindly! Highest recommendation and totally earned their stars!

Ive had the owner of this shop work on me for years. He is truly gifted with his skill. He is very diligent with cleanliness, and provides excellent customer comfort - as much as possible with a tattoo. Right off the bat i wanna say that during the entire process, they make you feel important and not just the next person to walk through the door. You matter to them. They’re very down to earth chill people while still holding a professional atmosphere. I personally felt like a friend more than a customer. Another thing that stood out to me is that you’re not going to get “Ok this is what you want? Right here? Ok.” They want you to have the absolute best piece of art they can provide and ask for any detail you would like to provide for your piece so that it’s more than just a tattoo. Undoubtedly this is my new place to go.

Ive been living temporarily in Maryville, TN. Maryville does not have a repetition for rich culture or creative thinkers. Studio 617 is a diamond in the rough. Once inside of the studio, I forgot I was sitting in Maryville. The place is clean and has a strong creative vibe. I had some unfinished ink that needed a good artist eye. They took over my existing ink and gave it more life, with ease. Im super picky when it comes to body art and there is nothing to pick at with this place. I highly recommend Studio 617!
