I’ve been going to Mike Medrano for years. So naturally I followed him to his now place of work. He’s always made me feel safe and comfortable while giving me a tattoo. All his work he’s done on me is amazing and I rarely go to anyone else for ink. He creates a fun atmosphere and is a quick worker with no mistakes. No matter how weird the design is Mike has always made a tattoo work for me and that is something i greatly appreciate. If you’re looking for someone to get ink from it’s Mike at black sheep ink.

I have had Mike Medrano as my tattoo artist for two years and will never have anyone else tattoo my body. He is so talented and always does such a good job with making my visions come to life. I have my whole upper body , torso and arms tattooed from Mike. I get so many compliments on my art/tattoos. Thank you Mike for all you do. You always make our visits a pleasant experience and we feel like family. Can’t wait for my next tattoo!

I absolutely LOVE this shop! I first met Michael Medrano at a different shop and followed him to Black Sheep…he has amazing talent and Megan Hunt is absolutely incredible! I won’t go anywhere else. Michael medrano is my go to guy for tattoos! I started with him at his previous location and followed him to Black Sheep! He does great work and Im so impressed with his work each time! Highly recommend!

I cannot speak about all the tattooist, but I can about Mike. This was his second tattoo (full sleeve on right arm and lower arm on the left) He took my idea and made it even better. Very talented and skill is outstanding. He knows how to read skin well and even added what I should do given my age and skin. If or should I say when I need another tattoo Mike is the only one to do it.

Mike always does a remarkable job! When I was in vacation Mike touched up one of my tattoo and did a beautiful job on my second tattoo. Its always great seeing Mike when we visit Minocqua! Ladies at Black Sheep are also fabulous.

This tattoo shop is laid back and everyone is super friendly. Tattoo artist Mike is great!!! I just got my 4th tattoo from Mike and he does amazing work!!! Ill never go to a different artist.

First time at the shop and it was the best shop Ive ever been too. The atmosphere is amazing, the artists knowledgeable and friendly. Im usually anxious as hell being out in public but I felt very at home here.

I went in to see Mike, he was real laid back and made my experience fun. If you ever need a place to relax, while getting yourself some ink, this would be the perfect place to go.

I got my first tattoo done here, and I absolutely adore it. DeAnna did an excellent job and talked me through everything she was doing. They got me in with just a few days notice, too! Though I would advise anyone to give them notice, the date was just important for mine. I cant recommend them enough! Ill definitely go in for my next one, whenever that might be!

There are so many things to be said about Black Sheep Ink but I will try to condense it.1. Multiple Multiple Multiple Reschedules, some an hour before. Then Meg never gets back to you to reschedule. The last time I went she was 3 hours late but I thought it’s better than a reschedule on short notice.2. Terrible aftercare instructions. Was told to wash it and use non scented lotion. Did as instructed and ended up with large painful scabs and scarring. My dragonfly ended up without a head.3. Poor tattooing. For some reason she won’t fill in the lines with color completely even when asked to. The lines were not very nice or straight.4. I had two sessions there and ended up having to have everything she touched redone. The one flower she did turned into a awful blob that I was embarrassed to even show anyone. Aftercare is so so so important and you trust your artist to tell you how to do so.5. I have nothing against anyone personally but was not a fan of the service I received whatsoever. Contacted them to try to get my deposit back but am being ignored.What was supposed to be something nice for me turned into a stressful nightmare. Would not recommend.

HUGE SCAMMER!!! DO NOT PUT A DEPOSIT DOWN!!Placed a substantial deposit for a tattoo that Meg never started or completed. I purposely scheduled over a month in advance due to my limited time and Meg canceled 2 times that week. The second cancellation less than an hour before the appointment time. (I was already en route by this point.) We were then unable to find a suitable compromise, due to to my hectic schedule and her complete lack of professionalism at this point. In which case, Meg refused to refund the deposit for work she never had any intention of completing.Do NOT trust a thing she says! Run like hell and find a business that shows some compassion and integrity in their dealings.

Have been trying to get my deposit back since December 2022, no one has responded to me since March 2023- it is now June 2023. Appointment was scheduled with the owner personally and she never once disclosed this was a “Non Refundable Deposit” she just asked for a “Deposit” to hold my slot. Due to medications i am now taking, i am unable to get said tattoo for the foreseeable future. I was told they would keep the deposit indefinitely for me but that doesn’t help someone whose medical reasons is now preventing them from getting a tattoo. The owner has now blocked me from social media, instead of facing the issue and dealing with it, she chooses to ignore it. So I guess, proceed with caution!

The 3.5 hour drive will continue to be 100% worth it to be able to get work done from Meg and Tanner. The genuine care and commitment to quality work and service is so apparent. I’ve never felt so “welcome” at a tattoo shop before. You leave with a full experience... not just a “good tattoo”. My husband and I can’t stop raving and are eager to get back!

Large group of us. They were totally prepared for our visit. Organized and way efficient! DeAnna was not only a terrific and talented artist but she made us feel welcome, comfortable. She did an exceptional job on all our ink. She was quick but made sure the process of sanitizing tools was done while moving right on to the next step. She was great! Our group all agreed we would be back. No doubt I would recommend Bkack Sheep Ink. Loved it!

Amazing people. Tanner hooked me up with 3 different tattoos on the spot. Hes very talented and very fair price. Highly recommend. His wife also tattooed someone while I was there and it turned out amazing. Great clean shop. Showed dates of needles and cleaned everything in front of me.

We started our session at 11, didnt finish until a little after 7, the work is phenomenal, the atmosphere is amazing, the attention to detail is second to none!I did a tap-out with Tanner, and he was more concerned about my comfort than his own, and he was doing all the work, made sure I was happy with everything before he even thought about putting the stencil on, and the time and care he put into each part was on point.100/10 would highly recommend.Cannot wait to go backPlus they joke around and keep it lighthearted which was fun too.________________________________________________Went back again today, and its still pretty amazing.Absolutely stunning work!

Black Sheep Ink is a phenomenal shop. The owners and artists, Meg & Tanner, are absolutely wonderful. Their incredible talent and skill in tattooing is matched by a huge amount of kindness, patience, and hospitable-ness. Out of all the tattoo shops I’ve been to, this one is the most welcoming - BY FAR!I live 3.5 hours away from Black Sheep Ink, but it will be the only shop I will be going to for the foreseeable future. It is truly the “Black Sheep Ink Experience”.

Meg and Tanner are amazing. I couldnt be happier with my memorial tattoo. Tanner was so patient and kind! Thank you so much for getting me in as soon as you did. Tanner made the photo come to life. Id give you a million stars if I could!

In my opinion I made the mistake of having several tattoos done here, with different artists. The first was a smaller word- this bled badly. I scheduled the appointment with Meg, however she wanted to give her apprentice it as it was simple. The second tattoo was a very simple, no shading, tattoo of vintage designs that Meg had chosen. This scabbed and scared badly, parts of it werent filled in all the way, it wasnt symmetrical. Afterwards I contacted her, at first she said she would fix the first as it was her apprentice, she said the tattoo she did was done poorly because she wasnt used to the gun, the ink or the style. After months of it not being fixed, she then said she wouldnt because She renamed the shop to black sheep so it was a new business and I had it done at the old business. I was upset as its the same owner and was in the same spot under the same llc. She then told me she was still so new it wasnt fair to judge her and the problem wasnt with the quality of her work, the problem was my expectations. I questioned why she had an apprentice if she was so new? From that point I was blocked from leaving a review their Facebook page. This was a Terrible experience. I will need to spend a good amount of money to get this fixed and it will be a challenge for the artist covering both of them up.. thanks for my only cover ups and the lack of accountability blacksheep!

My best friend & I had our tattoo appts all set up for April 9th, 2020 even booking a non-refundable hotel since we live in Mn. We prepaid Black Sheep Ink for our appts, even adding a $60 gratuity at Megs suggestion to “make it an even $ number”. (I have never given a gratuity BEFORE a service, but I blindly trusted it would be worth it.)In Feb 2020, we got a message that they had to shut down like a lot of businesses for Covid.That was okay -with an autoimmune issue, I have to be extremely careful and didn’t know what we were heading into.When they opened back up, they posted “we will not chase people to get them in & please be patient as we build our schedule back up”, so we didn’t want to add to their stress by rushing to get back on the schedule.Fast foreword to Fall 2020 - they had posted they just had a “Covid scare”at their shop, and Wisconsin was the state with the highest cases at the time. I reached out asking if there was a way we could get a refund and explained our situation - even offering a doctors note because my doctor advised me not to travel there from Mn.This business flat out refused to work with us or issue a refund, even when we offered to let them keep the $60 “gratuity” as a good will offering. Meg said the only option was to be sent gift certs in the mail to “gift to friends or family”. Again, we live over 5 hours away in Mn, but I tried to be understanding and agreed.Meg said she would send out the certificates.I contacted them again a couple weeks later when I still didn’t receive the certificates.Meg said it wasn’t sent bc they got new gift certificates and didn’t want to have an issue redeeming if they sent the old ones.Meg said she would send them out.I had to contact them again a couple weeks later when I still didn’t receive them.Meg said the wrong address was put on them by “her assistant” and that she would send them out.(By now it had been 3 months since we were suppose to get them!)Christmas came and went and still NO CERTIFICATES. Since the holidays are over, this will not be a gift anymore and we are asking for a refund. And now they have stopped responding to any messages trying to remedy this situation. They did not use standard Delivery Confirmation or any tracking service, so we don’t know where these certificates are, or if they even were actually sent out.We have been kind and clear in our communication, and have not gotten that back in return by being ignored or receiving negative and unprofessional responses.I have never dealt with a situation like this, and as a small business owner myself, am absolutely appalled by this behavior of keeping money someone paid you ($450) for no goods or services rendered. It pains me to leave a negative review, but feel there is no other choice left since we have tried to work with them for over 6 months now.

Couldnt say better things about the sleeve Tanner is working on for me! Great guy! Great work! He put up with me for 12 hours in one sitting. and I love love love the work so far!

Took a deposit from my wife and I and never completed the work.Meg cancelled twice, and then refused to refund the deposit after her inability to complete the tattoo.

Love going to black sheep ink. Awesome artists and a very comfortable atmosphere. I would recommend to anyone looking to get a tattoo. Very satisfied with the work they all do.

Horrible experience, horrible business practice. Jacked up two tattoos and refuse to fix them. The tattoos literally disappeared and they did major scaring. Facility is like someones grungy basement. Now I have to pay to get them both fixed. Made many attempts to contact with no callback. One star is one star too many.

My husband and I will continue to make the 2.5 hr drive here for our tattoos. Great pricing, great quality, and the most caring, big hearted tattoo artists Ive sat with.
