Walked in and was greeted immediately by a super nice girl who helped my sister and I pick out jewelry. We only waited like 5 minutes and then we went to the back and got pierced (septum and nose) by this awesome guy (i think his name was Johnny - he had creature from the black lagoon art everywhere and I’m sorry if i got your name wrong!) He was really funny and made the experience fun and enjoyable. It was quick and probably the most painless piercings i’ve ever gotten. I’m SO happy with the placement of my piercings. they look amazing. Would definitely recommend this place!!!

Ive had 5 tattoos done here by 3 different artists over about a 13 year span. I recently went for a nose piercing and had a perfectly pleasant experience. However, I showed up for a walk in tattoo shortly after and was refused service. There appeared to only be 1 artist, but no business. He was lounging on the couch when I arrived. He kept trying to tell me he couldnt do the colors in my tattoo the way I wanted it. I offered to modify it so it would be easier and fit within the space I wanted. He just blatantly refused to do it claiming it would fade and it wouldnt look right years down the road. I have 19 tattoos currently, most with lots of color, and some almost 2 decades old. My skin holds color really well. He very clearly just didnt want to work and/or was refusing because it was an LGBTQ+ tattoo. Not sure what the issue was. However, I found a place nearby that took me in right away and did the modified version to fit exactly where I wanted it and it looks great!! I guess dude at OM just didnt feel like making $210 yesterday. Theyll never make anything off of me again anyway.

***UPDATED***I’ve received four tattoos so far by this company, one from Whiskey River and three by Norfolk Ink. I love all the artwork so far. One of my tattoos was original artwork designed my me and tuned or modified by the artist (Andre). This tattoo is probably my favorite, Andre’s artwork captured my idea exactly how I imagined it. The second was from a picture my son took with a couple different ideas from the internet thrown in and pieced together by the artist (AJ). My son and I both got that tattoo; AJ did an awesome job. The third was the compilation of a couple different images my wife and I submitted to the artist (Rama) and we both got. The fourth tattoo was gracefully tweaked image my daughter found, completed by the artist Beck. My daughter and I both got this one, and although I like the shading he did on my daughter’s arm a little more, Beck still did a bang up job on both of us.My only issue with an artists was with Rama. As a person, he seemed pretty cool. It was his music choice and the volume at which he played it that was rather uncomfortable for my wife and I. The tattoos he did though look pretty cool; my wife and I like them.

I would like to give flowers to Brandon the artist who did my tattoo me being my first time receiving one he did a great job and I recommend highly he was very professional and clean and detailed with me through out the process I will definitely revist him again soon. I also would like thank the young lady working the counter that day she was very courtesy FATHERS DAY VISIT 👍

The two that helped me locate gauges for my ears were great. I also have a conch piercing that I had done somewhere else, and I was able to find the perfect earring to add. He was great cleaning and adding the jewelry to my ear. It’s been so long since I had my gauges sized.

The manager and todays tattoo artist (I apologize I didnt catch your name!) were both extremely friendly, helpful and kind. I got an earring jammed in my tragus and mustve threaded the back. They got it out without pain and schooled me on what guage and jewelry I should go with after this heals (I ripped a hole trying to get it out last night). Definitely will be back! Pressure relieved and day made! Thank you isnt a strong enough word. ❤️

I got two piercings today — forward helix + the conch. Upon walking in, the girl at the front was extremely welcoming. I wish I got her name because she was awesome from the jump. I was open on what piercings I wanted in my ear; she recommended the conch and I love it. She was super helpful when choosing my jewelry. Then Green did my piercings and also changed my jewelry on an old piercing. What a cool, talented, and knowledgeable guy. I’ll definitely be back! Thanks y’all! 🤘🏼

I recently had my ear pierced at Ocean Mystiques Norfolk and I couldnt be happier with the experience. Britt at the front desk was incredibly attentive, assisting me in selecting the perfect earring by patiently explaining the various sizes and colors available. Her guidance made me feel confident in my choice of choosing green color earring. The piercer, Green, was equally fantastic, offering a teddy bear for comfort when I mentioned I was nervous, which was a thoughtful touch. The procedure itself was surprisingly painless, and I experienced no discomfort in the days following. Their aftercare support is exemplary, providing a kit and reassuring me that I could contact them anytime if needed. I am thoroughly impressed by the friendly and professional atmosphere and I am already planning my next visit. Highly recommend!

Extremely clean shop. Very friendly staff! Brandon was brilliant, my tattoo is beautiful. He took his time and made sure it looked great. He took me as a walk in and I would use him again in a heart beat!

Went to Keagan (ig:cookielee) last night with my bestie to get witchy tattoos. The shop was clean and everyone was super nice. We enjoyed our time and love our art. Keagan is so fun and VERY talented. Can’t wait to go back with more ideas. 10/10

Amazing tattoo shop . they have a very relaxed environment and engaging staff. I did a walk in on a Saturday and was helped fairly quickly. my tattoo was a decent size on my forearm and costed about 400 dollars. I was in and out of the shop in 2 hours with a tattoo I love.

Went to AJ multiple times in the last 3 weeks! Once was with my best friend, got a Saturn and my husbands initials. The second time took my husband to get his and then today (third time) got my rose. He’s professional and personable at the same time, honest (which is great if you don’t like sugar coat), laid back, and is willing to work through ideas. Such a great time and experience every time!

Shop is clean, large waiting area, walk ins welcome. I was a walk in, made an apt, and came back a few hours later for a small piece on my leg. You have to pay upfront for your tattoo. I was charged for an hour, and the actual chair time was less than an hour. the artist and quality of the work was good enough. I was visiting Norfolk and stumbled upon the shop, so Im not sure what else is out there in the area. Picture is rough because its still healing. Def worth a look if your in Norfolk.

Ive gotten a number of piercings here. The atmosphere is really nice and welcoming. The people are informative and helpful (even on the phone). Im a very anxious person and I have been very comfortable here.

Cookie Lee, AJ & Jaz are the best tattoo artists in the Hampton Roads area! The artists listen to you, the shop is clean, and I always enjoy myself when Im there!

The staff out front was not very friendly as we had children with us. There was a sign on the window saying no one under 15 allowed in the shop. We were 2 moms with a handful of children and wanted to do three piercings. They acted like we couldnt read. We just wanted to get checked in which we couldnt do since we didnt have the appropriate info for our teenagers. After that then yes take the kids back out of the shop, but no need to tell us about the kids. Definitely will not be back. The piercer was great.

Walked in needing help putting an earring back in- they took me in immediately! Pony was awesome and fast! I ended up getting another piercing while I was there. The place was clean and everyone was nice!

I was in and out of there in less than 30 minutes. Staff is super clean and efficient. And I love my tattoo!

HORRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE!!! the two girls who work here are extremely rude. if you ask a simple question they answer with unnecessary attitude. and they are extremely overpriced here. they charged a friend of mine $7 to get her jewelry back in her nose. i got charged $42 for a piece of jewelry. i would give zero stars if i could.

My wife and I came here for our anniversary to get some tattoos and they turned out amazing!!!!! Our artist Jackie Spillane was very professional and really took the time to make sure that what we were getting was really what we wanted. He was respectful and we really enjoyed our time here. We will definitely be going back to him for our future tattoo needs!! The front desk staff was also very helpful and respectful giving us any information we asked for and over all it was just a good experience from the moment we walked in to when we walked out!!

Myself and my daughter have only had wonderful experiences with this shop. Note they are the original Ocean Mystique not the phony one going by the same name I. Virginia Beach. The staff here are knowledgeable, helpful, and super friendly. I recommend anyone wanting safe and top of the line quality materials and service to come here. I cannot wait to start work on my sleeve!!!

Fantastic shop! Though they were swamped for Friday the 13th they were still able to fit myself and a friend in. The flash was super cute and the service was amazing! We will absolutely be back!!

No place really likes walk-ins despite what they say on the door and they really arent shy about letting you know. We went to two other tattoo shops before trying this one. These people were friendly and inviting. The reception was completely opposite of both places we had gone before. They helped us find the right images and the actual tattoos came out great. My daughter and I are both delighted with our newest tattoos. Would highly recommend.

DO NOT GO HERE!!! it’s so over priced! i got my nose pierced and it’s SEVERELY INFECTED. i’ve had multiple piercings and on my nose too. i called the lady because i have to go to the HOSPITAL due to this infection and i followed every protocol to clean it. she said i cannot get a refund and she was rude and told me it was basically MY fault. i’m so mad and out of 70$ for a peircing that sent me to the EMERGENCY ROOM.

Ive had an eye piercing for over 15 years. I purchased 2 eye piercing rings for $40 in less than 1.5 month. Both if them the bottom ball keep coming off. Only jewelry purchased here that, this has happened. I believe its intentional by screwing it loosely to come back to purchase more or the jewelry isnt good quality...either way came to get the ball replaced 3rd time ....will never return

I visited Norfolk Ink Gallery for the first time about a week ago and my first impression was very positive! The atmosphere is very inviting and clean. The girls at the counter were very friendly, helpful and knowledgeable. My 15 yo daughter Wanted to get her ears pierced and Keegan was great helping her pick out her jewelry and aftercare products. Pony did her piercing. I was impressed with his professionalism and cleanliness of the room.I also decided to get a tattoo which I was a little indecisive and nervous about. Joe and Tayla helped helped me find a design I love and Joe did an amazing job on the finished product!! I’m very happy with my new tattoo. I have already recommended this place to a few friends and will definitely go back!!

I got both my nipples and my lip pierced here. Very clean and very professional environment. The cashier was very polite and even chatted with me a bit while I waited, and Chris did an awesome job on my piercings. They had me in and out pretty quick. Some people say in their reviews that they were treated rudely, but I did not get that vibe at all. They were very honest and straightforward if anything; they just didnt sugar-coat everything for me. Personally, I appreciate that. My husband also got a tattoo here and he loves it! Highly recommended.

Yesterday i walked into this business looking to get a septum and nostril piercing. The lady’s behind the counter where really helpful and explained prices and the different kinds of jewelry they had. I waited maybe 15-20 mins before I was call on. The artist Pony was super cool and did a amazing job. He also explained aftercare. I was super nervous getting my piercing but they made my feel comfortable and worry free. Thank you so much for this amazing piercing. I’m absolutely in love.

Great clean place. Love the way they have the place set up. Its so warm and welcoming. Beautiful detail in the design of their space. It doesnt look like a typical tattoo & piercing shop. Most of all Pony is awesome, sweetest and most gentle person Ive ever met. I would definitely recommend him for anything you need there plus its a great friendly place all a round. Very happy and will definitely be back.

This is NOT your grandfathers tattoo parlor. The lobby is spacious, well lit, and inviting. The staff is friendly, helpful, and always professional. The tattoo areas are a bit small, in my opinion, but they are clean, well furnished, and private. This is the first place I go to get ink done. Best tattoo shop Ive ever been to. (And I have been tattooed from here to Turkiey!)

I went in about two weeks ago to get my septum pierced and at first glance I was amazed at how clean and welcoming the shop was. When the gentleman (can’t remember his name) started my septum prep I wasn’t asked about placement or how it looked before it was pierced. Over the last week the right side has been in so much pain. Turns out the septum WAS PIERCED CROOKED!!! I am so disappointed and so upset. I loved my septum but unfortunately I decided to take it out to heal closed and just go somewhere else to get it redone. For my first piercing (besides my ears) I am truly annoyed. I hope better is done in the future.

I had an amazing experience at this shop. The employees were very nice and knowledgeable. The shop itself was extremely clean and professional-looking. The piercer, Stephanie, was very kind and knowledgeable and was able to do my piercing exactly how I wanted it. It was also VERY reasonably priced, yet i still feel like she did an amazing job, and the jewelry was good quality. Im never going anywhere else for a piercing!

My names Joe, and I had a great experience here. Ive now been tattooed at a lot of different shops around the country. The staff couldnt have been nicer and more timely with helping me get the work done that I wanted. I asked @cookieleetattooer to tattoo my fingers and I will definitely be returning to this shop with anything else Id like to get done here.

I Came into the shop on impulse. Danny the receptionist was so patient with me and helped me as much as she could. Went here to purchase a replacement ball for my septum. The lady at the front was very pretty and knowledgeable, but had a bit of an attitude and made me feel kind of stupid. She did give me 2 balls just in case and I really appreciate it, but honestly Id have to say I prefer Artisan over in the Military Circle area due to their customer service.

I went here for my double nostril piercing and it was one of the best experiences Ive ever had in a shop. The woman who helped me pick out jewelry and cashed me out was super helpful and knowledgeable! My piercer was very friendly, immediately put me at ease, and was everything I would expect from a professional piercer in terms of sterilization and safety. I would absolutely go back here for any additional piercings and jewelry changes.

My roommates and I all wanted to do a random tattoo night and I am so happy we went here! The studio was very clean and put together, all the staff was amazing. Jaz (Jazz?) did my tattoo and was very good, really nice work, very pleasant conversation and very talented at what he does. I will 100% be coming back for more!!

Got my nipples pierced here by the nicest girl. She made me feel comfortable and answered all of what Im sure were annoying questions. It was super clean and sanitary. The building itself is cool. The guys at the counter also helped me find the right piercings since I have a severe nickel allergy. 10/10

Everyone was great, professional, kind, and accommodating from the time I walked in to make my appointment to the time I walked out after having my tattoo done. I had a wonderful experience last week and would highly recommend Ocean Mystique. I’m new to the area but plan on getting all future tattoos here. All the staff are super friendly, extremely knowledgeable, and are just great! AJ was my tattoo artist & he is super cool/awesome. As well as an amazing artist. I got branches, with birds to represent miscarriages I’ve had, and I love that I can add to it in hopes I have a healthy pregnancy/baby soon! If you want a quality tattoo artist that’s clean, friendly, and knowledgeable this is the place to go! I said I wouldn’t get any more tattoos, but I felt very comfortable here. I look forward to coming back soon for more work.

Received my first tattoo from AJ. Great artist and very friendly. Received a lot of compliments on the tattoo right away. Great experience. I was welcomed right away. Went back a month later for a free touch up and still had a great experience. I found everyone to be friendly and very easy to get along with. Very clean store and amazing tattoo art.

Me and my husband both have gotten tattoos here a couple years ago, and are very happy with them! Today we went in to get my husband some traditional sailor knuckle tattoos and are extremely happy! The staff was incredibly nice! He got tattooed by AJ the manager and had an amazing time, his tattoo skills are great! He even made sure that the tattoos were perfect before starting! Sitting while he was tattooing my husband we had conversations compared to many other tattoo places we have gone. I can tell they really interact with their customers and care about them! Had a amazing time! We will definitely go back again in the future!

I love this place! I come here for all my piercing and stretched earlobe needs lol. They’re very helpful, I went in to get some plugs and they even measured my ears and put them in for me. They definitely did not have to do all of that, and it was very much appreciated. I recommend all of my friends here, they’re great people! Hoping to get my first tattoo from here sometime soon as well.

They were all very nice and understanding. I first went there in December and they were very nice but I didnt go again until about April, with a new idea on top of that. The first time I went in I got in on the table and chickened out, they quickly refunded me the full amount and when I came back today they were just as nice as before. I highly recommend them for anyone getting their first tattoo as this was mine and I will definitely be going back if I ever figure out what I want my next one to be.

Julian is the bomb! My tattoo is super clean and healed extremely fast. He has a great personality and is an amazing tattoo artist! All the staff were great and very welcoming and the establishment was super clean! I will definitely be coming back!

I’m very happy with my piercings I received. I got overall 7 piercings in a two week span by two different piercers. Both were great and courteous. They exceeded my expectations and I’m definitely going to get more piercings in the near future. I got two ear piercings on both sides, one piercing on my left nostril, and two piercings on my right nostril.

Amazing experience for my birthday, the whole staff was sweet and personable and John did my piercings highly recommend Im afraid of needles and he made my experience wonderful 😊. Great place over all 10/10 👍🏽 I will be back!

I just got a tattoo here and was very pleased with the results and with all the folks at Norfolk Ink Gallery. Jaz was the artist who made my idea a reality and, let me say, hes pretty awesome! Not only is he a very talented artist, he was also incredibly friendly and helpful throughout the whole process. Also thanks to Jackie who did a little photoshopping to help speed up the design process! And maybe it goes without saying with a 5 star tattoo shop, but it was very clean and everyone was very professional about their work. I cant wait till my tattoo is all healed so I can really appreciate Jazs work! Overall, I had a great experience here and will definitely come back for future tattoos!

First tattoo experience! Was super nervous but after meeting with Joe and realizing he could capture my vision, I felt super confident. Fast forward to the actual appointment... totally not as painful as I anticipated it would be. Joe was very gentle and kind. Highly recommend Joe as your artist!!

Im a little late with this review but I absolutely love my tattoo. I went in on October 10th, early in the morning as a walk in with my other friend and we were seen right away and got tattooed in less than 30 minutes. It was my very first time getting a tattoo and I wanted it on my back and Shannon( the lady who did my tattoo) made me feel welcomed and relaxed. I had a very positive encounter with this place, very clean , and everyone was nice .

Ive been watching Shannons work on IG for awhile and when I decided to get another tattoo, I was lucky enough to get a walk-in with her. She is fun, personable, informative, quick, and diligent. She does great work, and even though itll make it harder for me to see her in the future, I highly recommend her :-). I asked her to tattoo a specific piece of writing on my side, and it is incredibly faithful to the original. Thanks, Shannon!

Got my first tattoo here and I cant be happier with how it turned out! Amanda was awesome, she made my tattoo turn out beautifully. The rest of the Norfolk Ink Gallery staff was great, very warm and inviting, and definitely exciting to be around. I have to say I dont think I would have had as great of an experience anywhere else!! Its a very clean shop with a great atmosphere, and I definitely felt like I was taken care of. Top notch service! Went as a walk in and staff was extremely polite and helpful. Discussed fine details of what I wanted and where, with plenty of discussion to eliminate any vague details. Brandon did my tattoo and was amazing. Very polite, understanding, EXTREMELY knowledgeable, and patient with me (I havent had many tattoos). When the session was done, he explained in depth how to care for it and answered all my questions and most of all, did an EXCELLENT job! These guys rock!!!!

Ive never taken the time to review anything before but this was the best tattoo experience ive had, so i felt it necessary. Walked in and was greeted warmly. Atmosphere was calm as well as comfortable. Its Saturday so I had expected a bit of a wait (plus I was a walk in) but was pleasantly surprised to have met with an artist less than 20 minutes after walking through the door. AJ (my artist) drew up my design to a T, exceeding my expectations. The finished result was clean cut and professional. Price was affordable. No complaints from this guy. I highly recommend.

Where to start? Today was my first time there for a tattoo...I had gotten jewelry there before. Everyone is so nice and friendly and funny, they make you feel at home right away. Jimmee did my tattoo, and he is amazing. I love that he worked with me to intertwine multiple ideas that I had. I cant wait to go back and finish up his vision for the rest of it. If you are on the fence about where to go, this place is it. ❤

I never ever write reviews but I just had to complete this for Ocean Mystique. I’d give them 10 stars if I could. My aunt and I came here on 4/9 to get matching Lupus tattoos and from the phone call inquiry to the completion of my tattoo, I had a wonderful experience! From the kind, inviting, and professional but entertaining staff to the actual tattoo, I am so happy with my experience! I would recommend this shop to anyone! I can’t wait to come back and get my next tattoo here (and when I do, I will bring extra toilet paper since I used the bathroom 10 times due to my nerves and no one judged me haha).

Today I called lots of tattoo shops trying to see who could fit me in last minute on a Saturday. I called a couple places and everyone who answered the phone didnt seem to even want to have me come in. Until I called Ocean Mystique. They were incredibly nice on the phone (which is what really got me) and were about the only place that would make sure they would fit me in. Got there and the staff was very welcoming. I was immediately put with an artist, Randy. Who worked with what I wanted and didnt care that I still seemed lost on where I wanted my tattoo. The piece came out better than I expected and at a decent price. Better than any of the other pieces I have right now, by far. I will most definitely be going back there for as long as Im in this area. Thank you guys, keep up the good work!

Took my daughter to get her nose pierced. Chris did a great job! He was very kind, funny, friendly and cool. The spot is clean and easy to find. Actually my oldest son got his eyebrow pierced from here too. I would definitely recommend them.

Stopped in to get a new tattoo on my arm and the tattoo artist name Mike was able to help me. Very polite man, customer service was great! Didnt have a waiting time period at all. Went to grab a bite to eat and he was done with the sketch of the drawing in no time. He has really great work, and he can hold great conversation during a session, makes time go by fast. Thank you Mike !

The woman that pierced my ears was not very friendly. I tried making small talk and she didnt respond. I waited 5 months for my upper lobe piercings to heal so I could change the jewlery and put more noticeable earrings in. Once I did this I realized that my piercings are uneven and it now drives me crazy. Really dissapointed that I spent $50 and now I have to take them out and get them repeirced evenly.

My wife and I went in today to inquire about a hand tattoo. The woman at the front sounded a little confused by our request but said she would ask the tattoo artist taking walk ins if he was willing to do a hand tattoo when he got back from lunch. We hung out in the lobby for about 20 minutes just waiting. The guy must’ve come back and the same receptionist came up to us and said “Yeah everyone here says ‘hell no’ to doing that tattoo. That’s pretty much the consensus you’ll get at every shop.” and walked away. No “thanks for waiting” or “sorry we don’t do those types of tattoos” but instead just a “hell no”. It was super rude and off putting. We understand not every tattoo artist/shop is willing to do hand/finger tattoos and we’re totally cool with that, but the way we were talked to was super condescending and borderline embarrassing. We were hoping to come back to this shop for some larger pieces in the future, but don’t feel comfortable bringing ideas to this shop anymore if that’s the way they treat their customers. I’m not one to normally write reviews, but the experience was super off putting and uncomfortable for my wife and I. We will definitely be looking at different shops in the future where this isn’t the customer service experience.

Julian is absolutely amazing! i highly recommend him. i had a picture of a tattoo i wanted, but wanted more added to it. he did an awesome job adding what i wanted and bringing it to life. i will continue to go to him for my tattoos. the other staff here is also really chill and helpful

Went to get my nose pierced. The staff was extremely friendly and answered all my questions about after care, which studs/rings would look best/be easiest to wear, and how different placement would affect what kind of jewelry I could wear. She was quick and gave me exactly what I expected walking in. Very knowledgeable and kind. Will definitely be returning!

Its a nice place and not all the employees are bad people, but when it gets to a point where Ive tried on two occasions to get a tattoo with them, something is wrong.This is the first shop Ive ever been to. In 2019 the female employee was unwelcoming, and unhelpful. Made me feel stupid for coming.Second time in 2021 was sketchy. There is a column in the Google overview that says book an appointment and I used it, thinking it would work. Thats why I gave them a chance. But I ended up having to contact the artists on Instagram(based on a list of their artist insta profiles that they have copies of) and DM what I want. I contacted 1 of them, and the artist responded over a month later. By then, my mood was killed regarding this place. I didnt think getting a tattoo would be this difficult, and I dislike the way they book. It would be easier if they could get the artists that are already at the shop, and be able to talk to them like the other shops Ive been to instead of relying on a response on Instagram. Thats why I thought it would get somewhere, and have an appointment.

This was my second visit. My husband got pierced here previously and we came in just to get our jewelry changed. The price was great, the staff were awesome and the shop is clean. What more could you ask for?

Suburb. I walked in and made an appointment for two days later due to someone cancelling. My first rib tattoo and it was big. Randy was very attentive to what I wanted and supportive to my moans and groans through the tattoo process. The price was just right and it looks amazing. High reviews.

The staff is great here. Everyone is very helpful and nice. The place is clean and has long hours. The tattoo artists are very talented and have styles that differ from each others so you can almost definitely find someone who can give you what your looking for.

I called Wednesday about getting a tattoo for myself and to surprise my daughter with her first tattoo for her 19th birthday. I was told they open at 10 and it was first come first served. We got there at 10 and told the receptionist what we wanted. After waiting for a hour one of the artist came in and looked at what we wanted. He SAID Im not wasting my time on doing a small tattoo. We got up and left. Extremely unprofessional. The receptionist said other artist are coming in but didnt have a exact time because they were suppose to be there at 10. Highly disappointed.My daughter wanted the letter L in memory of her grandmother. You might want to teach your artist not to talk bad in front of paying customers. I would have respected your company if he would have taken us in a room to discuss what could or couldnt have been done. With or without the tattoo she had a fabulous birthday. You never get a second chance to make a first impression. With that being said, no we will not be back but we wish you luck with your business

I had an amazing experience at this location yesterday. I always went to the VB location before I moved out of state but I was very pleased with this one. I came to this location because it was closer to where I was staying and ill be going back next time Im in town. The piercer made me feel very comfortable and he was a funny dude which made it that much better. Im sorry I cant remember his name but everyone was very friendly and I was in and out within 15 min. I give them 10 stars.

I have gotten all 4 of my tattoos here and I have been very satisfied!!! Amanda did my very first, A.J. Did my second and Joe did my most recent about two weeks ago, and I will be going back to get him to put a halo over one of the ones he did! I love this place and would recommend it to anyone looking for great talented artist!!!!

Pretty good. They are first come first served and it took about 2.5 hours before my wife could get her tattoo when they told us 1-1.5 hours. The artist that did my wifes work was good but a bit pricey.

Very disappointed the service was very unexpected and rude! The owner is very disrespectful and just lost 5 customers. Needs to stay off TikTok especially when it comes down to serious questions. We asked a serious question about wanted piercings and got a rude answer and pushed away. Especially when it comes down to service and body. Body shame is not acceptable at all.

Relaxed atmosphere. I walked in, reviewed what I was looking to do, they offered some good advice.I filled out a few small forms, and within 20 minutes I was in the chair. Vincent was my tattooist was as friendly and easygoing as the guy up front *sorry I didnt catch your name!*I will go back soon for more work.

Their male staff is very professional & knowledgeable. Ive come back here several times for all of my piercings. And when I had trouble changing out my jewelry they helped me out for free everytime. They dont have the best or biggest jewelry selection but their nice staff makes up for it

My piercer, Pony Daze was a true professional. Very clean, no pain. I took off one star because their choices for a regular ear piercing were not inspiring. Wound up buying expensive titanium studs that I really did not need for my 2nd hole. My companion got a nose piercing, looked great and again no pain. The choices for single piercing jewelry was much better.

I recently got a tattoo here and I am beside myself with joy! Ive been looking and looking for someone who can truly capture something so meaningful and I got that at this shop. I have received many complements from strangers and friends who have said it is the best tattoo on my body. The staff was very cool and relaxed. We didnt have an appointment and were getting a relatively large piece, but they took us immediately. The artist was managed to get me in and out in about 2 hours despite the size. I highly recommend it

I’ve never felt so unwelcome in a tattoo shop before. As soon as I walked through the door I was greeted by a guy with a super stank/dismissive attitude. He told my friend that he would not pierce her ear because he didn’t feel like it. He also told me that my tattoo idea was dumb and it wouldn’t look right on me. I didn’t ask for his opinion, I asked for his service. Will not be returning and I certainly do not recommend this place to anyone.

I got/am in the process of completing a beautiful sleeve and thigh piece from Brandon Campbell at Ocean Mystique, so Ive spent a lot of time around the shop. I can tell you after I dont even remember how many hours at this point: these guys are the real deal. Very professional - the shop is always pristine - beautiful work (especially Brandons, but Im biased), and theyre friendly. Their rates are fair and exactly what youd expect for quality work.I cant recommend Brandon and Ocean Mystique highly enough. If youre on the fence or unsure where to go for ink in the Norfolk/VA Beach area like I was when I moved here, go talk to them and see for yourself. Its well-worth your time. Dont leave without a tattoo.

They are awesome! Shannon free handed what I wanted, right in front of me. Matthew talked to me the entire time, suggesting books to read (I got a book behind my ear), really made my experience personable. He even free handed shading into the tattoo which I wasnt expecting, but totally wanted!!! Turned out amazing!!My sister had both feet done by Shannon and they look awesome! She was super nice, veru professional and joked around with us as well. A great place with unique ideas, masterful artists, real talent and people who make you feel welcome!

He honored the gift certificate we had and did my girlfriends tattoo himself, which came out great. I get all my latest piercings the past several years done by Pony. Hes always amazing!

Called this place ahead of time and was told I could get a piercing as long as I arrive before the set time we talked about. I arrived punctual and a rude associate proceeds to tell me the piercer isn’t available to do piercing so come back tomorrow have a good night. Nothing else. After I was already confirmed on the phone. No courtesy phone call back after wasting my time to get there. Just rude and unprofessional establishment. Do not recommend. 👎🏽

If I can an give place a zero i could. My wife and her 2 friends went there. For just a 5 minute tattoo my wife was charged $150 even though the shop minimum is $50. They also overcharge one of her friends and the other decided not top get a tattoo after they told her how much it was. They came up with and excuse that it depends on the size and style. Well she got a little tattoo on the back of her neck that was just a couple lines. Dont ever go to this place because its a rip off. I have never paid more than $120 for an hrs worth of a tattoo in my life and I personally have at least 3 or 4 thousand dollars worth of tattoos myself. I will not reccomend this place to anyone I know.

The staff themselves were very nice. They SEEMED to know what they were talking about, however. I got a nipple piercings about 2 months ago by Pony and 1) he peirced me layed down which was a red flag in the first place (I shouldve known better) and 2) he peirced BOTH of my areolas way too deep. Neither of the peircings were actually through or even close to my nipple. I went to another peircer who immediately saw what was wrong without me telling them anything and she took them out. I now have permanent scars around my areolas.I also got the smallest of tattoos on my ring finger by Shannon who refused to consider where I wanted it placed. She was very rude. I tried my best to be understanding of her experiences but anyone else I knew that tattooed or been tattooed agreed with me she shouldve done better. She tattooed my finger WAY too hard and practically all of the ink scabbed and fell off without me touching them unless moisturizing. They are now splotchy and have scarring.Im sure they have had some good experiences before, however I extremely unhappy with my service here. And I cant get a refund.

I went here to get a Daith piercing for migraines. I was scared to death. This place is clean and the atmosphere is relaxing. The guy who did my piercing was wonderful. He put my mind at ease and was knowledgeable about the purpose of the Daith piercing. I didnt even know when he did the piercing. I would definitely come back and recommend other people.

I’ve had one tattoo and two cover-ups done before but today I walked in unsure of where I wanted my new tattoo. I knew what I wanted just not sure of the size which where two butterflies that would be placed near my tattoo of my moms name along with her bday and day of death(which was done by Shannon who was definitely a sweetheart). So as I was speaking to the young lady that does the piercings she was kinda rude. Another customer came in inquiring about a nose piercing in which case she was a lot nicer to her when engaging in conversation with her. Another guy walks out who appeared a little younger than the young lady I was speaking with. She proceeds to tell him that he could help me and so he ask what was I looking to get. I tell him that I wanted two small butterflies not microsize just small. Never once did he say well can you show me what you’re looking at or I can freestyle something to see if you’d like it because obviously I came in to spend money. He looks at what I was trying to show him and he blatantly says, “No not happening, we don’t even have needles that small”. I just looked at him in disbelief because as a customer he didn’t even attempt to be professional nor did he take the time to even discuss what I wanted to get. I WILL never go back. I’ve seen better artists like Chill The Artist. I almost assumed it was because I was black but I never like to pull the race card but I noticed how the young lady was responding to me when I walked in opposed to how the other white young lady walked in inquiring about a nose piercing. And to thank that I referred people to them..smh

Went in to get some prices on a few things I was considering. I was treated as though I was stupid and although I have hidden tattoos it seems as though they thought I knew nothing about tattoos. I kept asking questions even though the two employees were very disinterested in helping. Then I was rudely asked if I even knew what one of the ideas I wanted was. Im not some ditzy girl I dont get permanent things put on my body without meaning or without thought...although the piercing I got from here a few years back is nice, I will never spend another dollar at this place. Any professional tattoo artist Ive met anywhere else, that actually liked their job,tried to make the customer feel comfortable and acts interested in doing the piece. They are the complete opposite. If you want to be treated like dirt and be expected to pay a large amount of money for what you want, thats the only reason youd go here!

Front desk reception was extremely unprofessional. Stood around for 30 minutes without a single person offering assistance while people that came in after me were getting seen because they were there for piercings. Even if I’m not there for a piercing, they should be asking if they could help me out with anything. Unprofessional in my opinion.Edit: the issue was certainly not the 1 person in line ahead of me, rather the 5 people who came in after me and were helped first.

WORST EXPERIENCE EVER!!!! The staff was incredibly rude, especially the short girl with blonde hair, we heard her talking crap about my friend and I from the moment we talked in. When we finally approached the counter, she had a horrible attitude and a smirk on her face. She handed us over to a tall gentleman with a ponytail and and started talking crap about us again as if we werent right there. All I asked was how much were piercings and he said if you want it done right its $70 if not you can leave, no negations. They both were extremely rude and disrespectful, we decided to leave. I have never encountered such unprofessional people in my life.

I can only hope my meager words will accurately reflect the positive, uplifting experience I had at Ocean Mystique’s Norfolk Ink Gallery. I entered the shop more on a curious impulse than anything, with only an inkling (horribly lame pun unfortunately intended) of what I wanted permanently inscribed on my skin. Any anxiety I carried was immediately quelled by a friendly, funny, and informative staff who were more than happy to answer the many questions I had about the process of getting my first tattoos.After browsing several of the artist sample albums on display, I consulted with AJ. Through his patience and vast experience he enthusiastically took my original ideas and worked with me creating the optimal designs and placement for my tattoo. When he did disagree with any of my uninformed suggestions he wasn’t condescending or exasperated. Quite the contrary, his lucid, professional explanations and recommendations were very convincing, and it was quite obvious he is a true artist who takes a tremendous amount of pride in his craft and cares a great deal about his clients and giving them not only what they want, but also what’s best for them- valuable traits for earning trust and putting someone at ease if he or she has any reservations about permanently decorating their skin, which I had in spades.AJ’s confidence, sense of humor and gregarious attitude immediately put me at ease and again he patiently answered all of my questions (the entire tattooing process, coil vs. rotary machines, aftercare, healing time, etc.) before we got started. It was a comfortable, laid back atmosphere conducive to creativity and relaxation. AJ’s is a steady, expert, artistic hand and I couldn’t be happier with my decision and especially the end result.I cannot be effusive enough in my praise of the entire Ocean Mystique experience from the friendly, professional staff to the cleanliness of the equipment and facilities to the quality of the final product. I recommend this shop to any neophyte or even to the most hardcore tattoo addict. If I ever get more ink, Ocean Mystique’s Norfolk Ink Gallery is most definitely my huckleberry.

I have always gotten my tattoos done here at ocean mystique. My sister and I moved to Yorktown and we went to a closer place here and wasn’t happy so I said let’s go to the best place so we drove to Norfolk to ocean mystique it was late so we were just trying to get prices and come back. The staff when you walked in were supper friendly as they always are. They gave us the prices and I personally have gotten 4 tattoos from there and my x husband has a custom one done and we’ve never paid what the tatto artist quoted my sister and I. When I asked to speak to him and told him I thought the prices were a little high he told me and my sister If we didn’t like it to leave. He was so rude yelling and screaming telling us it was only him there and that what he was charging and they were small tattoos. A girl who was in there was getting ready to be tattoo by him and decide not to because of how rude he was to the customers. He then started screaming I costed him money. Smh. Aj a great tattoo artists and shop owner sucks he has that crappy of a employee working for him. I will not be going back.

I stopped in for a cover tattoo in the early afternoon on a Tuesday and was asked to come back when Mike came in. I returned at 4:30, spoke with Mike who viewed my tattoo and said he could get me started in an hour. Well.. 2.5 hours later (after chatting on my phone) I was still waiting! NOBODY had the courtesy to ask me if I wanted to reschedule, work with a different artist or even offer a drink of water. I got seriously played. No tattoo and no way to recover the time wasted on my day off. The standard of customer service does not match the standard of art I viewed in the albums displayed. I really wish this could have been a good review about an awesome tatt. Guess not.

Gotten work done here multiple times with Julian. The shop always has great customer service and artist. Julian’s work as been phenomenal and I personally let him have full control of design.

Came here for both of my pieces. Holy Roller did my first tat about two years ago and I came back because of the experience. Brandon conceptualized this piece for me and did a great job. I know it was a bit weird but he was able to draw it up and I am thoroughly pleased. Have to come back for color in 3 weeks.

I went to get my nose piercing removed and I asked if I could go clean my nose with something and the go says “no you can buy something” I just wanted to wipe my nose out it was disgusting inside. He attitude was terrible

Got my first tattoo here by A. J. and it was EXACTLY what I wanted. Everyone was very helpful. They printed out many different sizes for me to pick from, and calmed my first tattoo nerves. They made sure I knew how to care for it after I left. Awesome service!

I came here for my first tattoo in January 2020 and Jackie took my vague ideas and turned them into a beautiful dot worked mandala and flower hip piece. When I was ready for another, I came back with an equally vague idea and, once again, Jackie came up with something brilliant! I will definitely be coming back for more!

This is an outstanding shop. When you go to have a tattoo or peircing done, you want to have it done by a professional who is knowledgeable and will give you their HONEST opinion. I am not an artist, so, I want someone who will help me by guiding my idea in the right direction, not someone who will say whatever I want to hear so they can make a quick buck. I have visited this shop on multiple occasions, and each time was more than satisfied with the outcome of the work. The negative reviews here are most likely from people that felt insecure prior to walking in the door, and it is by no means the fault of the staff. They are there to work on their craft, not exchange fake pleasantries. If the idea you have is not something that will translate well, it is their responsibility to relay that to you, and if that hurts your feelings, then obviously you need to grow up. I recommend this establishment whenever I am asked where my work was done, which is quite often. Its extreamly clean, filled with artists who work very hard, genuinely love what they do and consistently stay up to date with the regulations that accompany this type of business. Kudos, guys and gals, keep on keepin on!

Ive had Matt do 3 of my pieces over the last 2 years. Not once have I had issues with him nor the rest of the staff. Just be honest and real with them and take all the advice and suggestions that they make into consideration; they will do everything they can to take care of you and give you a unique, original design.

I love this place along with the staff. I got a tattoo in august and I expected pain and the usual crusting over Etc.. I didn’t have any of that and my tat is awesome ! The artist which I can’t remember his name was very friendly and talkative . This will be my go to place for my next tat!

So my fiancé occasionally suffers from migraines. One night she was having a really bad one. I know if you get your daith pierced that it is supposed to help with migraines. It was late, like after 8pm. Ocean Mystique in Norfolk said they were open till 10pm, and they will take care of it. We drove there from Suffolk and with very little wait the piercer came and took my fiancé to the back. Just a few minutes later she is done. She woke up the next morning without her migraine. Thank you Ocean Mystique!

I got the same treatment as Seja Hart.....I went in asking for a tattoo and artist was extremely disinterested. I specifically went to him because the tattoo I was getting was something he knew how to do well I told him what I wanted and he just looked at me blankly, showed me some pictures of work he did before and we set an appointment. I called in the next day asking if we could move the time back because I had to work, he said yes no problem. When I came in I was 30 minutes late which I warned him of but he didnt even remember saying yes to the later time! He then argued with me on if we actually moved the time back. If he didnt want to tattoo me then he should of said so and everything would of been better. I took my money somewhere else. If your tattoos are covered, if youre a woman or black, then I wouldnt suggest going here or I guess walk in naked because, I guess they wont give you the time of day unless they see that youre experienced

Came in for a cover up and the guy kept telling me to get laser tattoo removal. He wasnt very helpful at all. Every tattoo artist claimed they were booked for the whole month. They all gave the impression that they didnt want to do a cover up. I will definitely NOT go back there.

I went to get a piercing and as soon as I walked in there was a gothic looking girl with the blonde hair standing in the front and she just looked at me and didnt say anything (not even a hello)! I had to wait for a another staff member to come out and greet me. I heard from other people to not go there because that gothic blonde girl is rude and discriminatory towards people of color but I tried it out anyway because I thought maybe she was fired due to complaints and bad reputation but she is not, I guess the owner of the shop doesnt care about customers. I will not be going back there ever again and I will tell people not to go there .

Besides the friendly and fun atmosphere, all the artists here do quality work. Ive come back multiple times to get tattooed and always recommend it to others. Best place in the area for sure.

Yesterday I went to Ocean Mystiques Norfolk Ink Gallery, got my very first Tattoo done it was a great experience and Shannon did an awesome job! I received excellent customer service, quick & very very clean plus I was a walk in, I will definitely be returning!

Just got my nose pierced there and it was my very first piercing. I didnt catch the womans name who did it, but she was great. I was pretty scared the whole time and she talked me through it, I also told her that I wanted a hoop but for right now would have to settle on the stud because I have to cover it up for work and she told me dos and donts and was very helpful. If I get anymore piercings I will be going there.

Highly recommend Tony for tribal types of pieces. Does an awesome job with detail and adding special twists if you are stuck on what to add to your tattoo idea. The wait is 2-3 hours if youre planning on doing a walk-in later in the day.

I like that they could get me in immediately as a walk in with a relatively larger piece. My tattoo artist was heavy handed though and didn’t really talk to me at all during it which I’m not used to. They also charge above average than other shops.

Came in for a walk-in and Jimmee listened to what I wanted and offered recommendations to tweak the design slightly to make it flow better. It came out better than I imagined! Super friendly staff and very clean studio. I’ll definitely be back and would recommend Jimmee and Ocean Mystique to anyone. Thanks guys!

Was able to set up an appt quick, sent photos of what I wanted. Easy going to talk to artists. From what I understand they had some remodeling done, so the shop looks amazing. Good experience.

I went into O.M. yesterday night for my first tattoo. i was very excited. i came in for a back of the neck tattoo (a small cross) which came up to $80) at this point im a little upset cause i thought would at least been $10-$20 cheaper. im thinking okay maybe it will be some really good art work. ive heard really nice things about them. guy named Brandon finished it.... and i see its crooked and it was shaded in poorly. Im thinking maybe its because its swollen, but this morning i look at it and its healed but its definitely messed up. im so mad that i kinda wanna cry lol but yeah, you bet your bottom dollar i wont be coming for a second one. other then that i love the staff. the are friendly and love conversing

Went here thinking it would be a good experience and left with a bad bridge piercing. Used a curved needle and a curved barbell in my bridge piercing. Ended up having to take it out all the way and now needs to be redone by another

This is where I went to get my nose pierced last year, the staff is very professional, the artists will help you get your 2D ideas onto your 3D body. They also have a wide selection of piercing replacement parts, which is cool if you lose jewelry pieces later.

Pros & cons, very clean, professional atmosphere, but HIGHLY overpriced. I got a small text, not even a scripture on my ribs/underboob area and they charged me 100$ and they said it was because of the placement. pretty insane but hey..

I went in thinking I needed one of my ears repierced thinking it had closed up after time. They were able to find an entry from the back and insert an earring for me. Very happy.

I did a walk in and got my septum pierced here it appeared to be in the wrong spot and would move every time I smile or move my mouth I wouldn’t recommend here I ended up having to take my piercing out because I didn’t want it getting any worse than it already was:(

They had terrible service. I could not make it past the girl at the front, fat with dark hair, she was very rude. I could see she didn’t want to give me service. That place is very racist!!! I will not be going back

Daughter and SIL went in for tattoos, first I was rudely told to leave because I had my granddaughter in a stroller, no big deal. Then the chick who did my daughters tattoo obviously did not know what a Roman numeral 5 (V) looks like, as she put an X instead.
