Mario was fantastic. My kids surprised with a loud noise and bumped into me mid-piercing, but he stayed focused! 🙏 😬My moms holes had closed, he re-pierced them. My anxious 9 yr old wanted her first earrings, he was extremely patient. My other daughter and I got 2nd ear piercings, and he was so fun and friendly the whole time that all 3 generations would recommend him ❤️

I brought my son here to have his ears pierced. Marco did an amazing job. Took out tools to measure to make sure the holes were even with each other and on each ear. He was gentle and informative as he worked. Everything was very clean and sterile. If I get a tattoo, this will be the first place I’ll go. Highly recommend Marco for piercings!

Could not recommend Mario more! The environment from the second I walked in the door was beyond welcoming and positive. No judgement! Everyone was superrr kind and helpful!! I went in to get my first tattoo today, and was a littleee nervous. Mario was super patient and explained everything thoroughly. I ended up leaving with three tattoos. Mario did a wonderful job piercing my rook and lobe, and cartilage for my sister. Felt comfortable throughout the experience and will definitely come back again soon!

I have not gone in to get my tattoo yet, I go next Saturday however so far my experience has been amazing!! I am getting an old tattoo covered up and have been dealing with Mario he has been great!! I sent him a drawing my friend did for me and he tweaked it so he can achieve the best cover up result.. I am so excited to have the finished product on me. My son, daughter in law and niece all have gotten their tattoos as Ink Side Out Tattoo and they highly recommended I go there to add to my vast tattoo collection. And I so can’t wait to get my old tattoo covered up with something beautiful.

Oh my goodness, I am over the top in awe of Mario and his work. I flew in to surprise my mom who wanted a tattoo (it was her first tattoo and a tribute to my father who passed away a year ago) Mario made my mom feel so comfortable and she had such an amazing experience that before she even stepped out of the shop was talking about coming back to get another one. She also wanted her ears repierced , which he did. He took his time and made my mom feel so special on a day that was difficult for her. Thank you Mario for a beautiful experience! A little late on the review (I got my tattoo a year ago) and yet it’s amazing and I’m just itching to go back and get a second.Hannah was great and the entire place was clean, light, and very welcoming. I was in there for upwards of 2 hours and enjoyed every second. She was kind and patient and made sure to ask enough questions to know exactly what I wanted and how I wanted it while explaining why some things that I had asked about (for future reference as I’d been thinking about getting more) wouldn’t work as well as I’d thought.At the time, the tattoo came out wonderful and I was given instructions, the plastic covering for the next few days, and told to moisturize and such. The only issue I think I may have had was a slight itchiness to having sticky plastic stuck to my arm for so long (and yes I definitely changed it when I was supposed to, but it’s still like a bandaid) and I cannot express the importance of moisturizing the area. This was unavoidable and I usually respond poorly to any kind of bandage or tape on my skin anyways so I was actually expecting a lot worse.I’m also a huge baby when it comes to needles and I can say with complete genuine sincerity, it did not hurt. I don’t even think I bled at all, maybe a little bit? But the fact that I can’t even remember probably shows just how much it didn’t hurt. I was reassured and consoled that I was probably overthinking it in my head and turns out I was. But Hannah was still patient with me and checked in with me throughout the session and it was reassuring and comforting to be capable of taking a break or voicing any discomfort with no questions asked.A year later, the tattoo is still wonderful. I absolutely love it (I’ve attached pictures of then and now, but please bear with my shoddy camera on the second one—being more recent and now an older model phone) and while I do want to touch up a few lines, that’s just how tattoos are and with how much small detail and stippling went into this I’m shocked and pleasantly surprised at how well it looks now. Im definitely going back, hopefully this year, and getting my next one here because I love the effort and sophistication of Ink Side Out.Thank you so much!

We took my 5 year old here on Saturday for her first ear piercing and everyone was wonderful. It was easy to book and they were so informative about the process. We opted for the titanium earrings so we could minimize any chance of reaction. Love that they offer them! David was absolutely fantastic! He put my daughter at ease, made changes to her little target dots for me and pierced both ears in under 2 minutes. She was happy and smiling and showing them off immediately and we have had no allergic reaction or pain since. Highly recommend!!

Awesome experience. Mario was fantastic from the first message I sent until after I left and tagged my new tattoo up on Instagram. Great atmosphere, staff is awesome. Theyre all very knowledgeable about every step of the process, as well as talented artists. Completely recommend and will absolutely be getting more work done here!

The staff were so professional, informed and very nice. The place was very clean and welcoming. They took the time to make my 13 year old daughter comfortable and explained the process for getting her ears pierced, also how to take care of her ears afterwards. I would highly recommend to family and friends for piercings.

My sister and I got piercings from Mario today and they are perfect! Mario took plenty of time to answer my questions and perfectly re-pierced two piercings that had closed as well as two new cartilage piercings. I can’t wait to go back for more. I highly recommend Mario!

I got my nose pierced here in November and it was quick and easy! The piercing healed very nicely. The place is also very clean. 2 things to note: I emailed looking for an appointment and the owner said they dont make appointments and never mentioned that they only take cash for piercings. Consider adding a way to book appointments on the website.

I had an amazing experience getting my nose pierced here, I took my sister to get her ears pierced as well. The studio was very nice and clean. The piercer was super nice and answered all of our questions no problem. Our piercings are healing nicely and he told us to come back if we had any issues. Super happy with this place and my experience, would definitely go back. 10/10

My daughter’s ears were pierced incorrectly. Like a doctor removing the wrong kidney, Mario repierced her perfectly good (three year old) lobe piercings instead of the 2nd lobe piercing as requested. He did not mark anything. He clearly did not understand the task. Now, long healed and no issue piercings have to go through the whole months long healing process again. The money matters not, the service was not good. To others I’d say, “As consumers, you have choices.”

I went in for a septum piercing. The piercer guy was nice and friendly. There was barely a set up for the process and everything was laid out right on the seat I was sitting on which I thought was unprofessional. I’ve been to a few different piercing places before and this was a red flag for me. Cleaning and sanitation procedures should always be taken seriously if you’re going to put a hole on someone’s body. The guy’s hand was shaking as he pierced me and the piercing came out crooked and too low. Fast forward 6 months and I had to take out the septum because it never healed and the bumps never went away. I’ve never had a problem with healing my piercings before so I was really disappointed with this experience.

I have been getting tattooed and pierced by Ink Side Out for the past 16 years. Every time I go into the shop, I am treated with kindness from everyone; it makes me feel like I’m home. The talent of the artists is on another level and I have been tattooed by all of them. Shaun, however, is in a caliber all his own. He has done 95% of my tattoos and they’re all incredible. I get compliments on them on a daily basis. Won’t be going anywhere else for my tattoos. Not to mention they just changed locations and the new place is awesome. Highly recommend.

I’ve gone to inked side out for multiple piercings and my three tattoos. I’ve gotten tattoos with both Benji and Josh and in all of my experiences they have taken my ideas and their creative expertise to make my visions come true. Great environment, cool, comfortable, clean and will not let you down! I highly recommend they know what their doing!

I went to Ink Side Out for my lip piercing recently and their establishment is very clean and professional... the people are very nice and friendly. I have bad phone call anxiety and will stutter a lot but they were patient and friendly with me which I am so grateful for. The piercer is informative and obviously knows what he is doing. Overall a really good experience and a great place to go for piercings, and though I did not go for a tattoo I am sure they are super awesome with that too!

Definitely recommend getting Ink done with Shaun. He’s done over 10 of my tattoos & I’ve never been dissatisfied with the quality of the finished tattoo. So happy with the progress of my ninja turtle sleeve and the complements I get on it. My girl still gets new compliments on the pineapple tattoo he did for her too. Will be scheduling another appointment at this shop with Shaun soon!

For some reason even though I specified I wanted a second lobe piercing, the piercer re pierced my already pierced first piercings with a bigger gauge. I now have to go through the healing process again even though I’ve had fully healed piercings for years. He then continued to gaslight me into saying they were closed despite me showing him a picture of me from this morning with earrings in. Do not come here!!!

I was fortunate enough to get my first tattoo earlier in the week and could not be more pleased with the result. I was recommended to Josh through a friend, his work was top notch and the experience as a whole was truly fantastic. From being not only extremely talented and professional but personable, friendly, clean, the whole experience was fantastic. You are paying for top notch work and I cannot wait to get back for another session.

I got a nose piercing here and my mom got a tattoo. They were super nice and taught me how to take care of the piercing and gave me an aftercare spray for it. The tattoo and piercing both look really good!

Dave is very professional. He has pierced my septum and he has done my dermal too. Very clean and quick and painless. I would highly recommend getting a piercing from him. He is one of best piercer in Norwalk. I wouldn’t get a piercing from anywhere else. All the instruments he use are clean and sterile right out the bag.

I am a long standing customer of Ink side out. Josh has done my entire left arm, and we are now working on my right arm. Josh is very easy to work with and very collaborative. He has taken my ideas and put them perfectly down on skin. Completely professional, and very easy to talk to while the work is being done. EXTREMELY happy with the finished work. While I have never been tattooed by Benji or Niko, both are extremely friendly and very engaging and interested in the work being done.All in all, super friendly clean place, with exceptional art. I took my 10 year old here for her ears pierced and was pleased with their professionalism, cleanliness, and attention to detail. We returned when she was 15 to pierce her second set of ear holes and get a nose ring. Again, felt that they were professional, clean, and had paid attention to proper placement/ spacing detail. I got my first piercing here. it was myMonroe and honestly I couldn't ask for better service. the woman in the front was so nice and was trying to calm my nerves as I filled out the paper work. The guy who did my piercing talked me' through everything he was doing. I felt really comfortable there and couldn't even feel when he put in the needle(: and they also give you a spray to clean it when you pay(: definitely 5 stars :D

A few weeks ago, I got my first tattoo here (7th overall, so I have plenty to compare it to) and it was by far the best tattooing experience Ive ever had. My first consultation email and phone call were returned quickly and professionally. The shop is pristine and approachable. Anthony was wonderful! He knew exactly what he was doing and my tattoo is perfect. Even in a spot that I thought was going to be extremely painful, he did such a great job that it didnt hurt nearly as bad as I was anticipating. It also healed so quickly. I cant wait to go back and get many more tattoos here. The price was a little high but Im happy to pay for such great service. Dont go anywhere else.

I love ink side out, everyone is so nice and non judge mental, the lady at the front desk is warm and welcoming. I’ve had to return once before to get my nose piercing put back in (my own fault, i wouldn’t stop touching it and pulling it) and they never got annoyed at me for having to come back. my nose piercing fell out again for the same reason and i waited a couple months and went back today to get it repierced and get two ear piercings fixed that i had gotten as a baby. david is so nice & listened to me as i explained what i felt was wrong about my piercings and pierced new ones in perfect spots. i then asked for a cartilage piercing and he checked if he had time and gladly did it for me. love this place, definitely recommend. everything was quick and calm, & david let me know what he was doing every step of the way.

Hannah is literally the best person ever! She’s tackled two large white ink tattoos with skill, precision, and expertise. I literally cannot say enough to how much care she put into this ink and it’s means so much. Not only that but I’ve always had a great experience interacting with all of the staff here. Truly disappointed with my experience here. My sister and I tragically lost our mom recently and wanted to remember her in a special way. The person who made our appointment was awesome and reassuring. But everything changed once we sat down with the tattoo artist - lack of proper communication, unwilling to listen and compromise with what we desired, and easily became frustrated with us. Lastly, told us he couldn’t see us anymore due to insufficient time even though we had booked for 4 hours and still had plenty of time left. It was a waste of my day off from work and drive from Boston. We ended up going with a different shop with artists who were patient, flexible and incredibly talented. So thankful we went elsewhere!

Mario did an amazing job. He made the process easy and quick, providing me with any needed information. The tattoo turned out wonderful, and I will definitely be returning.

I had Niko and the experience was awesome. It was my first tattoo and he couldn’t have done a better job. He has unbelievable attention to detail. Was copying my moms signature and a note she left me and he put it on perfectly as if she wrote it herself. Highly recommend Niko and the entire staff.

Flew back from Chicago to get 2 more tattoos from Benji. He is beyond professional and not only is he a great artist, but has so much knowledge as to where specific designs would look best. I trusted him completely and LOVE the results. Brought my mom and sister in law with me (mom is always apprehensive of me getting any tattoos), but she loved Benjis energy and absolutely enjoyed sharing this experience with me. The guy who did my piercing did a terrible job. Nice guy, but did my piercing at a completely wrong angle, and he used a left stud in my right nostril. He did the same for my friend, and we both Had to get the piercing redone at a better place because the keloid would never have gone away. Don’t recommend this place for a nose piercing.

Got my nipple pierced and the needle completely missed the spot that was marked and it looks diagonal. Also didn’t tell me which metal was being used before. I should have asked but I assumed for a piercing like that you would use titanium but the piercer said that was too expensive. Person I was with didn’t wanna go through with their piercing after. Saw other reviews also complaining about the angles of the piercing.

Dont go here for ear piercings! They pierced my helix/cartilage piercing with a butterfly back. Youre NOT supposed to do that- and clueless me didnt know why my piercing was getting irritated. Do your research and find a renowned place with threadless, high quality jewlery! No butterfly backs!! Dont make my mistake :(

My wife and I went in to get tattoos based on a friends recommendation. Her design was simple, but mine had a bit more complexity. Benji did an awesome job with both of ours; exactly what we wanted. Id definitely use them again.

My friend and I got our cartilage pierced here and it was a quick and easy process! We couldn’t go in together because of Covid but we were allowed to Facetime each other the whole time. It’s been three months and is healing great!

This is a great tattoo shop! I had my tattoo done by Josh and he did an amazing job today. All the other workers in the shop were very nice and funny. They made it entertaining for me while i got my tattoo and took my mind off the pain. The shop is definitley very clean and well organized, I dont know how the other reviewer could say that it was dirty. Do not listen to the one negatuve review on here, this is a great shop to go to. This was my first tattoo ever and I can definitley say that it was a very pleasent experience. Just got my septum pierced. Dave was clean, fast, and efficient. It didn’t even hurt at all!! I am totally thrilled. Absolutely amazing experience!!

I went to this place 7 years ago and the service was great. I had gone back this past summer of 2015 unfortunately it has changed for the worst with new people. My husband and I are very upset with this place. The guy who did my tattoo was rude he didnt tell me how much it would be till after my tattoo was done. He charged me a lot of money for a no color, small, and simple tattoo just on the side of my ankle. He only had to copy the tattoo from a picture from the internet. He was also giving me a hard time because he kept trying to change the tattoo that I wanted. I would never go back again!

My advice: dont get a piercing here. My piercers name was Josh and several things made my experience (of getting my first lip piercing) a bad one. At first, I thought it was good news when they told me that they didnt take appointments for piercings. I thought it meant that thered be time for mine if they were busy. What it really meant was that they wouldnt spare even two minutes of their time for me. Not only was I rushed in and out of the room within a minute or two, I wasnt given a single piece of information about my new piercing. Instead, they handed me a bottle of salt water (H20 cleaning product) and told to use this every day. No application instructions, no information on piercing care, no tips on what to eat, healing time, etc. A week or so later, my lip is so swollen that I cant even see the inside of the labret. As it turns out, I was given the wrong size of labret. Typically, theyre supposed to be around twice the size (guesstimate) of a normal piercing to allow for swelling. If theyre too small, the lip swells to the size of a grapefruit (also a guesstimation) and HEALS OVER the labret. If it does this, you need surgery to cut it out, putting you back at square one. If I had not asked a different piercer about the problem, I probably wouldve been in the hospital a few days later, removing the labret from inside my lip. For $60, the high end of the price range for lip piercings, the result shouldve been much better.

If you want a tattoo..this is the absolute place to get one. Everyone is friendly and this is probably the cleanest tattoo shop you can find. Josh is in the process of doing my half sleeve and his work is incredible. And I laugh at the people saying this place is over-priced. If you want to spend a small amount of money than go to another shop and get a shitty tattoo. Theres a reason why Josh and others are booked 2-3 months. Im never going anywhere else for a tattoo.

David & Sean are absolutely excellent. Won’t go any place else for piercings or tats. Great guys who do great work and know their s**t. Inkside out or bust.

Got my third hole pierced it was very fast and josh was very friendly. It was a very clean atmosphere. Deffinitly going back for another piercing and a tattoo!

Hands down best experience Ive had for piercings. They tell you the dos and Dont s for aftercare and are very quick and careful. Id definitely come back!

I see so many good reviews for this place and my honest opinion is don’t go here for any type of piercing... me and my friend came in to get conch piercings done (me a double and her a single. Now I didn’t realize this at the time of leaving the shop but both of mine were HORRIBLY crooked. It’s now been about 4 1/2 weeks and I had to take both out after a consultation with a different piercer. They both were getting infected and had keloids because of the angles the piercer chose to do. What a waste of 120 dollars. Won’t be back again.

I had a tattoo appointment and he was nice and all that but as I was trying to describe what I wanted to do, the artist wasn’t willing to compromise with what I wanted and he became frustrated. If you’re looking for a REAL tattoo place go to Forever Customs Tattoo!!

Though this shop has good tattoos, I think its ridiculously overpriced for the quality. I have several friends who got tattoos there, and I have to say that they really got cheated.

Good quality but a little bit expensive in the winter they charged me a 100$ for a 5 word tattoo that should cost like 60$ or 70$ but it came out good but they are really expensive.
