Years and years ago, I got a few tattoos by Matt when he was at the other shop. I moved away almost 6 years ago but was back visiting. Of course I wanted to support Matts shop so I booked with Steven. I knew we would be respected by Matts staff and had no problem seeing a different artist. Steven was kind and welcoming. We chatted and laughed. I felt so comfortable with him and my tattoo turned out amazing. Next time Im back in town, Im going to try to book again. Everyone in the shop was friendly. Its also a very clean environment where you can tell cleanliness is important. 10/10. Keep up the good work 7 Day team!

I took my daughter there to get her ears pierced. She told me how she heard they were good but really strict on under 18 getting piercings. I was absolutely amazed by the professionalism and thoroughness of the artist with his explanation of the procedure and after care. Would highly recommend 7 day tattoo gallery to anyone.

I went there to get a septum piercing because that was the only shop near me that did piercings for minors. I went there twice, but I chickened out the first time. The first time i went there, There was James. He said that if im not ready then i dont have to do it and he didnt seem mad at all. The second time i went, there was Derrick. He did an amazing job and sat through it until i got the piercing. He did it very quick, and then explained how to take care of it. He helped me calm down before i got it, and overall its a perfect place to get any piercing. I definitley recommend!

I’ve been getting my work done by Skuba (Steve) for many years. His work is incredible and I’d put it up against anyone else out there!! Steve’s line work is crazy smooth and he knows how to really get solid coloring accomplished. I’ve got about 10 tattoos from Steve, including a a stamp sleeve and significant size back piece and I’ve never had to have a single touch up after healing.I’ve never been tattooed by Matt or Bob, but I’ve spent enough time watching them in action and seeing their work to know they are great artists and would 100% recommend them and let them tattoo me. The shop is super clean, and the environment is really laid back. Even on a busy weekend night, everyone is enjoying hanging out and talking with each other and enjoying some really solid music.I would 100% recommend any artist in this shop, but you should be prepared to wait at least a few months. Any of these guys are totally worth the wait!

Took my daughter here for her first tattoo. The place is clean and the staff was great. She was nervous and was put at ease throughout the process. Bob was her artist and he was amazing! He talked to her and explained everything as he went along. She got exactly what she wanted and just went back for her second one!

I do not recommend going here for piercings especially with Matthew. If I could give this a -10 star I would. To start I came here for a helix piercing January 6th. When me and my sister first walked into the shop, Matthew had a slight attitude, but I wasn’t sure if that was intentional or just his personality. Either way do better. Immediately after he pierced my ear, my ear started to feel hot.. Then, when he was piercing my sisters ear he had to redo it about 3 times with blood squirting out of her ear. Very disturbing….and seemed as though he didn’t really know what he was doing. After he finished both of our piercings, I was told to keep cleaning my piercing (which I did follow the instructions given to me verbally before I left the shop). But the following day or 2, my ear started to swell abnormally even with keeping up with the saline sprays and icing it throughout the day to bring the swelling down.My ear continued to swell day by day worsening even with contacting Matthew for advice to fix this as I wasn’t sure if my ear was rejecting the piercing or an infection. I came in about 4 days later so that Matthew could check on my swollen piercing and he’d said switching to a longer bar should help with this. When he did this procedure is probably what made my ear worsen into an infection.My ear continued to swell abnormally the next few days causing me headaches and lots of pain/discomfort to the point where I had to go to urgent care to see what was going on. I then was told by the doctor to remove the piercing because the swelling/infection was that bad. I contacted Matthew about this as well and I didn’t get a response. Very unprofessional. I have now been on antibiotics because of this piercing almost 2 weeks…. Still in lots of pain.Please do yourself some due diligence and don’t get piercings by Matthew. Stick to your specialty.. tattoos. And please work on your sanitation skills.This is ridiculous.

7 day gallery is the only place I will go period. Matt is an unbelievable artist and always exceeds my expectations. I got a tattoo from Matt 7 years ago and went back a few weeks ago for some more work. His attention to detail and shading is second to none and he is an all around professional and stand up guy. These guys are the best in the Business. Thanks Matt!

Matt is an amazing artist. He covered up a color piece on my arm with a black and gray piece that looks awesome!! I get compliments on it ALL the time! He is my artist for life!!

Matt did my first tattoo when I was 22 years old. There is no other artist I turn to. Im now 35 and Matt has done both of my half sleeves. I have appointments to complete the left arm sleeve. His skill and creativity is worth his 4-5 month wait and is unmatched by anyone in the industry. He is absolutely confident in his craft and what will work and leave a lasting positive impression. Matt is talented in both free handing and tattooing from a stencil. People stop me all the time to inquire about my ink and where I got it done. I keep a 7 day gallery card on me all the time to send them in the right direction.

I brought my daughter in for a piercing with James yesterday and received amazing customer service! We tried a shop right before that and had a horrible experience so it was refreshing to walk into this place. The shop was clean and James had amazing technique. My daughter wants to become a piercer (she’s done 6 of her own) so both James and Derrick had amazing advice for her and she left with her piercing and also feeling inspired. We will definitely come back again!

Just moved here from SC and have had trouble finding good artists that are worth the money up here in Chicago!Any artist at this shop will do your tattoos justice, Scuba got me in ASAP and brought my idea to life perfectly. Not to mention the price was WELL worth the money. Nothing but good things to say about him and 7 Day Gallery. Won’t be going anywhere else, even if I move back to the south one day.

This is the only shop I would ever recommend getting your piercings done!James and Derrick were wonderful when I got my tragus pierced. They encouraged me to follow up with them if I had any issues with my piercing and they were so friendly whenever I had a question or needed additional assistance. I’ve had negative experiences with other piercers who don’t wish to be bothered after you get pierced BUT that’s not the case with these guys. I would 100% be going back for further piercings. They have wonderful customer service and for that alone, I would recommend them to anyone I come across who is getting a new piercing!!

Amazing place! Staff is fun yet professional, shop is immaculate! Loved Bob, he did this small but meaningful tattoo for me today, my kids initials, and made it painless and pleasant! I wish i could give more stars!

Derrick was the best piercer I have ever had. Very attentive and nice. Made me very comfortable. When I had concerns listened and got me in to see him and fixed the problem super easily. I have a custom piercing that was done by someone else. He had to figure out their work and work on re-creating the jewelry. He did it and it was awesomesauce. I was so pleased with his willingness to help me out.I live 2 hours away but will definitely be back.

Wanted to get a little something for my birthday and Scuba took me in same day! Easing my worries since the artists are way booked out in the year. Its my first script tattoo and it was hard for me to find a good artist that do wording and I couldnt have asked for a better artist! He copies my fathers handwriting perfectly 🤌❤️

Went in to set up an appt. I was not greeted with a hello but instead asked by the guy tattooing what I wanted. When I told him he called this girl from around the corner, who was an apprentice Im assuming. She set me up with an appt on a Monday that was a few weeks out and Sunday night, after midnight, she texts me saying something about going to the hospital and shell follow up to set up another appt. Never heard from their shop again. Very unprofessional and unfriendly.

I went to Matt Mueller and his work is spectacular!! The amount of detail that he put into the tattoo is unbelievable. Highly recommend for anyone getting their 1st tattoo or 20th tattoo.

I had forgotten to leave my review initially. I came in for a septum piercing on Feb 3rd, and Derrick was awesome. Really friendly and easy to talk to, he walked me through the whole process as this was my first body mod and made the process simple and comfortable. Will be coming back for any future work, Id recommend Derrick for anyone looking to get peirced. Ill update this and let everyone know when I go back for my first tattoo.

Derrick was amazing. I got my ears, tragus and nose pierced in the same session and he made the process quick and painless. He was so nice, patient and walked me through the entire process. The shop is also really nice and clean. I would highly recommend going to Derrick for any piercings!

First off Google has the times wrong; they close at 9pm. Second the piercer was absolutely amazing. I’ve had my septum pierced three times and this was the absolute best experience! Jamie’s was great. Minimum pain. I’ll definitely be sending my friends this way.

A friend and I got piercings here yesterday. The shop is clean and sanitary. Derrik really knew what he was doing. He was quick and precise, and made it as easy as possible. This is the kind of place that wont bs you just to make a sale. Theyre honest about what you want to get done. I highly recommend coming here for piercings.

I got my ear cartilage pierced yesterday by Derrick. He was very personable, nice and made me feel comfortable. Throughout the piercing process he asked me how I was doing to ensure I was feeling okay. I was nervous at first, but his calm and down to earth demeanor helped to alleviate that. He was professional and demonstrated clean and safe practices. The shop was also clean and organized. I love my piercing and I will be back.

Matt is the best tattoo artist Ive had by far, and i had more than 5 for reference. Ive seen him for over ten years working on my sleeve and every time I see him, I am blown away by his work, his work ethic, and the fact that he is such an amazing person.

We took our 13 year old to get her second ear piercing. The shop itself is a great representation of the amount of talent that the team has— these guys are artists— you can view amazing artwork created by the staff. The shop is clean and organized. Staff in knowledgeable and welcoming. If she ever wants another piercing, we will be going here.

I had been calling shops in the area for a week, finally 7 Day I got someone to talk to me, Bob. He was able to fit me in the next day due to a cancellation. While Bob was working on my stencils, I decided to get my cartilage pierced, Derrick is great, explains everything, what works and what wouldnt work. Bob did exactly what I wanted, again, very honest about what could be done and couldnt. I appreciated the honesty from both, I will be going back for my coverup and highly recommend. Out of the places Ive been hands down, this one is the best!

I wish I could speak to their work since I did a lot of research before choosing these guys, but I cant because they never showed up to open the shop when they were supposed to. I called a few times throughout the week to schedule an appointment but they never answered the phone. Figured they were just busy, so I made the drive over last Saturday (about 35 minutes one way) and got there at 1pm since their Google listing states they open at noon. The place was closed. I went on their website and saw they actually opened at 2pm. Google listings are sometimes incorrect, no big deal, so I ran some errands and came back right before 2pm and sat there until almost 2:30pm. Nobody ever showed up. Three other people came, waited a while, then left, too. There was no sign on the door, and nothing on their website or social media saying theyd be closed. One of the people who drove up while I was waiting said he had the owners direct number and even the owner was being unresponsive. I understand things happen, but there are multiple people who supposedly work here, so why none of them showed up to open is beyond me. I ended up going to another shop not too far away who said I wasnt the first person to say that 7 Day has been unreliable recently. A simple note on the door or their website explaining the change in hours would have saved me, and the others who have showed up and waited for no reason, a lot of time.

The best shop, hands down! The artists are great, clean and so talented. Matt has been our artist for years and he always does top notch work. You cant go wrong with 7DG! Thanks guys for always being safe and delivering amazing artwork!

Easily 5/5. Derrick pierced my navel/bellybutton today and I was abaolutely bummed my usual piercer wasn’t active as much anymore. The very irony is that Derrick had trained my previous piercer and he really is the guy you can trust. I have no fear of needles but obviously, I was nervous to get a piercing. He explained everything in detail, including the valued aftercare and even offered to modify an industrial piercing for me as my ear is a weird shape. I will definitely be back sometime for that industrial!Clean shop, friendly staff, and I was warmly welcomed on phone and in person.

The piercer Derrick is amazing. He’s done 4 of my piercings. He makes you feel really comfortable and relaxed. Great communication and will answer any questions you have. 10/10 would recommend.

A few days ago I called about 2 hours before their closing time and no answer. I called multiple times and no one bothered to pick up. When I finally drove over 40 minutes to get there, workers were inside and decided to turn off the lights like I couldn’t see their big heads moving around in there. So unprofessional and inconsiderate. I am never coming back here again. Don’t say you close at a certain time if you’re going to shut the doors over an hour prior.

Not only are the owners absolutely AMAZING, but they have some of the best people on staff here. I came in and got my eyebrows micro-bladed by the talented Jamie. She did such an incredible job. Not only was the work space up to my standards (youll understand if you take a sanitation class) the whole shop was. Jamie walked me through the steps before anything and really took her time making sure that my brows were just the way that I wanted them. She truly cares not only about her clients but also about her work and it shows. My brows turned out even better than I could have imagined. It was fun even going back in for my touch-up. Jamie is world class when it comes to micro-blading. I know many people in the beauty industry that specialize in micro-blading and after hours and hours of studying peoples work, Jamies is still the best and I would not go to another shop or to anyone else! I myself am an Esthetician, I know how important brows are to someone. If you can get in to see Jamie, she will change your outlook on your brows, shell make you love them again! Thank you Jamie for giving my brows the life Ive been trying to!

Ive been going to see Matt for over 10 years. I couldnt imagine going to another artist. Matts always been straight up with me and given me some great advice when it came to designing all of my tattoos. 2 arms and 1 leg later and Im still going back for more. If you appreciate an honest artist that does amazing work in all different styles this is the tattoo shop.

Great place! The shop has great artists(Matt Mueller who is the owner, Bob Gray and Steve Skuba Stanczyk), who are very professional. The piercer (Derrick Bourg)is the best in the area, very clean and professional. The shop is one of the cleanest I have been in. One of the only shops I would recommend.

Today’s my birthday, & so I wanted to go in and get 3 black roses on my forearm....i searched this place, seeing it had such a high rating....I walked in and the man that I talked to was rude & talked to both myself & girlfriend as if we were stupid.....as we were just in search for answers about him possibly able to do print outs or draw ups of tattoo ideas, or any of his coworkers so I could have my tattoo done...and he laughed in our face & scoffed...then said he doesn’t do any flower like tattoos as he was doing a woman’s tattoo of a flower......completely unprofessional, terrible first impression...completely rude....will not be going back there...their loss on money & more customers. Hopefully the man working tonight will see this, and change the way he treats people, especially new comers.
