I just had my ears pierced along with my 7 year old daughter. Koz was amazing!!! Walked my daughter through every step of the process, put a show on for her while she waited for the numbing agent to take effect. The shop space was awesome, clean, overall amazing experience, well definitely be back with our younger daughter if not before.

It took me a long time to find a place after my other tattoo artist moved away from another location. Finding a tattoo artist is like finding someone that can do your haircuts. It takes time and you need to find your match. All this being said, I am very happy with this location I have found. The workers are all kind, the place is clean (the bathroom is in such top shape), and each individual worker has such talent. I felt instantly welcomed when I came in and felt comfortable. Carlos is my go to guy. Sweet gentleman, takes his time, makes sure you’re comfortable, and makes sure your needs of what you want designed our met. I love how all workers will put their input and give you knowledge of anything you ask when caring for tattoos or piercings.Happy to say, I found my match. 🖤

Went to BMI for the first time last night with a friend. Havent gotten a tattoo in about 20 years. Feefers was amazing. Told her what I wanted and she was spot on. I love my tattoo and will definitely go back. Everyone makes you feel at ease. Highly recommend.

I had my belly piercing done here about two years ago. No problems, no itching, no wounds. Koz is very great and friendly. I was nervous at first but he made me feel calm and comfortable. We talked throughout the process. He was so fast, didn’t even know when he was done. He did a very neat job. Also, the prices are affordable.

Attempted to get my daughter a simple piercing at BMI TATTOO, only to be met with the iron-clad, non-negotiable, “No Under 18s” policy. Yes, even for the ones in dreamland. Apparently, the mere presence of a minor, conscious or not, is enough to breach the sanctity of this establishment.A typo on an ID? Grounds for immediate dismissal. It seems accuracy in documentation is more vital here than in international espionage.And the crown jewel of their policies: the aura of cannabis is treated like an infectious disease. I’m a none smoker but I just wanted to point it out. What is this the 1980s?So, if you’re over 18, typo-free, and as scentless as a bottle of distilled water, congratulations! You’ve passed the preliminary round of BMI’s piercing saga. For the rest of us mere mortals, especially those daring to navigate parenthood, better luck next time.

I got my nose pierced today and I love it! Koz is so knowledgeable and patient. He definitely knows what he’s talking about and he’s very nice. He led me through every step of the piercing process and it was quick and easy. If you want a piercing this is the place to go!

I’ve gone here twice, trying to give them the benefit of the doubt, but I’ve had a pretty bad experience both times. One occasion, the male piercer with the tattooed eyes was in a rush to leave, and improperly did my ears. He completely missed the dot he had made, and I let them close up because I was unhappy with the result. This last time, he insisted that my nose piercing (that I had redone by Wolfline and LOVE) was in the wrong location, despite me having had it done twice and relocated (by wolfline) to be correct for my nose shape, and refused to pierce my other nostril. I was fine with this answer and had no problems waiting for my friends to get their piercings done, but he continued on by insulting the place that I went to prior, and gave me no room to speak. Afterwards, I did mention that he had actually improperly placed my ear piercings before and that it’s not an unusual thing, certified or not. I’m assuming he took this as an insult, and told me to “have a nice day.” And so I did, and took my 4 friends elsewhere. Will never go there again. If I could give 0 stars, I would.

Julie does great work, and is quite talented. The shop is very clean and well organized. This pic is minutes after she did the original work. Its been a couple weeks, and Julie asked that I come back, so she can checked the healed work. I highly recommend this business.

Koz is the bomb! He did my tragus piercing as well as my conch , and he is phenomenal! Super clean, super sterile friendly, knowledgeable on point . every time he does my piercings, I tell him I could kiss him 😆 because its painless! And because of the sterilization of the equipment and things it heals like a charm

Epic experience with piercer, Koz!!! Im still crying about his pretty my ear looks!!! I used to call my ear weird and deformed, but Koz told me I have original ears. Cried, not from pain but from happiness. It was a huge boost to my self esteem too! Received a tattoo by Christina and absolutely love her work. She does great with ornamental and fine lines. She is very careful with understand health issues that might effect tattoos and providing information about care/healing time. Her work healed nicely and fast. She uses second skin adhesive as part of your aftercare treatment. Loved that she didn’t force conversations and kind of did her thang! Would definitely go back. The tattoo in the photo are 6 months a part. The shop is clean and overall, was a pleasant experience

Koz was amazing! I looked up several reviews because I had been somewhere previously where my piercings were not done the best. He fixed the other piercer bad job and made it look seem less. He took great care to make sure the piercings were lined up perfectly. 10 out 10 I would recommend!! I will be back for more. Thank you Koz for the great experience and information.

Koz was excellent. My teenage daughter wanted an industrial (bar piercing in ear) and Koz explained the entire process patiently and clearly so we understood everything that was happening. Clean, quick, & efficient. He does not use unsafe piercing guns, only sterile one use needles to maintain cleanliness. Definitely recommend.

Koz was amazing! i went in for a septum but Koz was honest with me and told me that my nose was crooked from a break i had and that the septum ring would be crooked, which i really appreciated. after changing my mind a couple times i got a daith piercing instead and it went so smoothly. he walked me through the entire process and was very informative. i felt very comfortable during the entire process and would recommend him to everyone.

He was very professional, knowledgeable and gave me the basic tips on how to keep my fresh piercings clean to avoid infection. Went in for a flat piercing and was told by another shop that it couldnt be done. Second opinion with Koz and he was excellent. The whole process was easy, properly explained and took time to answer any questions that I had. Plus side it didnt hurt at all. I will be back for a future piercing and only use Koz. He is the best.

Overall a great experience. Piercer walked us through everything wed need to know- from the aftercare to getting the piercing itself. Very clean and well organized place. Prices were lower than I was expecting. Definitely our new go-to piercer, and I look forward to coming back again.

I’ve had 5 different piercers for each of my piercings. I got a smiley done incorrectly several months ago and was afraid of it not being able to get pierced/be painful/difficult/etc. Koz was AMAZING. I got my nose stud replaced at this place and Koz was amazing! He was very informative, easy to talk to, and very quick in changing the jewelry. I was extremely nervous to get my stud changed because the other place I had went hurt me. Koz informed me that the other shop I went to had gauged my nose with the wrong jewelry. Koz pierced my 8 y.o step daughters ears. She is EXTREMELY sensitive. Yet, Koz helped her feel comfortable. I have to say, its a clean, professional shop. I went in to treat myself to a nose piercing on Sunday 01/15. It was fair pricing, a short wait, dude that pierced me was cool and now that Ive seen some of their work on Facebook, I really want to go in to get some fresh ink. Im a happy customer.

This place is awesome! I was out of luck because most places in the area were either closed or had no piercer available. I went here and they took me in right away! They have a bigger jewelry selection than other places I’ve been to and the piercer was so nice and informative. Barely any pain involved with the piercings. I’m definitely coming back!

Dont bother coming here the guy that does the piercings has no costumer service skills. Im legally blind and typically have my partner read paper work for me. No its not a need but its helpful at times. No one informed me before sitting down that that was against their policy, which they should inform everyone as they hand over their paper work. Thats no big deal for me I could read it on my own. But since I wasnt informed I had my partner help me read. The guy who does the piercings made a big scene and basically told me if Im not able to read I cant get a piercing. Which made no sense. He tried to back track but he had already lost me as a costumer. This wasnt my first piercing or tattoo and Ive never been treated like that in a tattoo shop. To my knowledge I was his 3rd costumer lost that day because before me he was making a scene with 2 women who ended up leaving as well. Whats the common denominator you ask? We happen to all be black. Take that how you wish. Wouldnt recommend.

I went here because it was recommended by my sister. She’s a great judge of character, and I’m not only saying this because she’s my sister, so when she recommends things, people, and/or places I take it with great appreciation. I had a 6:30 appointment and the piercer Koz was a little late. Someone in the shop did tell me he had stepped out. To be honest, i didn’t mind waiting 15 minutes and also let’s admit, not many of us can say that we’re always on time to any or all kinds of appointments. I actually appreciated the honesty vs getting told a white lie. I value that in a business and as a customer.Koz, the artist who pierced me, was gracious, sincere, calming, and everything you want in a professional. I’ve had over 11 piercings done and this experience has to be one of THEE best along with scuba Steve. The experience was painless, quick, informative, and MOST IMPORTANTLY i felt so safe. He made exceptional recommendations and walked me through everything, even though I’ve had piercings before, which is valued and greatly appreciated. He’s extremely gentle, even with the way he handled the instruments and jewelry, it almost looked as if he was going to play a classical instrument lol. Koz also stated out loud each time he disposed of the needles appropriately so you also SEE that they’re being disposed in their proper biohazard container.Everyone who i interacted in the shop was extremely nice, and the shop itself is really clean. Every artist had masks and my temperature was checked prior to entering the shop. Also! As someone who can be type A at times, he made sure that I could contact him with any questions regarding the care and healing process of my septum and Medusa which is comforting and a trustworthy trait in an artist. Please consider Koz as your first piercer, second, or even like me, my 12th piercing. I usually never write reviews but honestly i made my appointment just to get my septum done and the experience was so great i didn’t even think twice about the Medusa. I’m really happy and grateful that this shop and artist was recommended so I really want to share it with others! 10/10

Koz is awesome. He was quick and he talked me through the piercing. I was shaking when i walked in and he was calm and cool to talk with. I wasnt sure what side of my nose to get the piercing and he helped pick the side because i pulled out my camera and went straight to the left side of my face. It showed he pays attention and will give you what looks best. Hes just awesome. I will forever come to Koz for all my future piercings. (2nd piercing done by him)

Julie is an amazing artist! She does such great line work and details when shes tattooing. The shop is very clean and organized and the other artists are very kind. Felt comfortable and relaxed getting a portrait done by them. Will definitely be coming here for now on to get my tattoos done.

Koz is amazing! I am a first time mother and my husband and I went to BMI to get our daughter’s ears pierced. As a first time mom I tend to have unreasonably high expectations and Koz managed to exceed them all! He guided us through the process and answered my many questions with patience and managed to soothe our anxiety. With our 6 month old daughter he made sure she was comfortable and asked what her favorite show was so she can play it on his laptop and he made every effort to make sure we were comfortable. Again, no easy feat with two new and anxious parents and a 6 month old.The shop itself is pristine: immaculately clean! Koz checked our temperature and wore his mask and gloves the entire time. I cannot recommend this shop enough! If he’s this patient with babies I’m sure adults have an amazing experience as well.

Cody did my tattoo and I have never gotten a tattoo that didn’t hurt or itch after. With him I didn’t have any of that. Down to earth and didn’t even really feel the tattoo. He saturated my tattoo with plenty of color and didn’t take long. The staff is dope and felt like fam when I was there. Very clean.

I was referred to Cody from a friend and he was so gentle it didn’t even feel like anything was being done. I was kind of nervous at first because every time I mentioned to someone that I wanted a neck tattoo, they would make a painful face. Even as he wiped the excess ink he was gentle. That’s all I keep talking about. Lbs. He finished pretty quickly and I absolutely loveeeeeee my tattoo and can’t wait to book with him again!

Came in today wanting to be service for a piercing. Filled out the paperwork then was told it would be 30 mins he had to go to store and grab some paper towels. When I stated I am looking at blue paper towels all around the place. I was further told I am just the messenger and yes you are looking at paper towels. Not quite sure why I was lied to in my face. I took my ID and left calmly not sure if it was color of my skin and he just didn’t want to service me. I wouldn’t recommend this damn place to my enemy never-less a friend.

Amazing! I first discovered Basement as I was searching for a professional to do my anti-eyebrow piercing. I found a few shops but none of the piercers gave off the same vibe as Koz. Such a great guy! I was only 16 at the time and he made it a point to educate me all about the piercing and its aftercare. Now that Im 18 I went back to get my septum! Such a great place

Firstly, I want you to please pull up the call log, I have a call log too. My appointment was at 12:30.Second, you got the owner twice, sure.The first time I had the expired ID and you explained to me that I couldn’t get a tattoo with it. Cool. The second time, I came back in to ask if the photo of my VAILD ID I had on my phone would be okay? You all said no; so I left. End of that story.Then you said, you let me stay and wait for my ride after I was so called acting in a “manner” that only “McDonald’s” would tolerate. So, why would you let me stay inside and wait for my ride, if I was acting so ill mannered? Because you didn’t.My ride was waiting outside for me the entire time. So, why would I stay in your shop waiting for a ride?There’s no need for you to keep responding with lies.

Definitely loved the experience getting my piercing done here! Everything was sanitized in front of me and I was informed of every step while it was being performed. I’ll definitely be back

This was my 2nd visit to BMI.. Your shop open up at 12 pm on Sundays so how was I 30 minutes late 🤔. I never said “it’s all good…I won’t tell anybody you tattooed me”. Did you get me confused with someone else or do you have fun creating fake dialogues? If it’s about proving age then I showed you a photo of a physical copy of my state ID and you said I could of doctored it. I honestly don’t care about the deposit or ID issue anymore…you got snarky and replied with lies. You talk about being an adult but you’re the one telling fibs like a child. 😌

I absolutely love this place cody does a excellent job on tattoos he did 2 of mine i will be back. I got my nose pierced by koz wonderful i was nervous he eased all my fears my favorite and only place to get a tattoo or piercing.

I went to Basement Ink to get my belly pierced in February and I had the best experience! I went in a couple of days ago to get a tattoo by Nicole. My tattoo was a black silhouette and the ink ran, after I cleaned it I realized how it was not shaded in very well. I can also see little spots where my skin color is protruding. I am not pleased with the work I have received. I will update my review in regards to how they resolve the situation.

I arrived early and waited outside for almost an hour. I called the phone number on the business window twice to try to schedule an appointment, but no one answered either time. I emailed the shop, but no response. When someone finally showed up, l tried to ask if they had available appointments and l was ignored. I finally caught the gentleman’s attention. He kept walking and would not stop to listen to my question and pointed to the sign on the window that he opens at 1:00 pm. And he slammed the door. I felt so disrespected. I just left. Perhaps they don’t service black patrons here.

Love this place. 2 of us got piercings and they walked us through every step. Made us feel comfortable. Very professional. Another one of us got a tattoo there. Would definitely recommend this place to others.

I absolutely love basement ink. ive been here multiple times for koz to pierce me, and dont have any form of complaint. the piercings all turned out awesome and i couldnt be happier with them. koz is super chill and fun to talk to, and walks u thru everything he does, step by step. im planning to have him pierce me more, as soon as my most recent one heels :) ive gone with a few friends to get tattoos from basement ink as welll, and tho i personally didnt get any tats from here, i enjoyed the atmosphere that came with it. (the tatts turned out great by the way!!). deffinately the only place you should consider going to.

Would rather check your credit before they show you any work or any merchandise. Guess they fail to realize IF I DONT LIKE IT, THE COST IS IRRELEVANT!! Poor customer service.I see a response but cant reply to it directly, so: I didnt bring in any photo. I inquired about work/artists for an idea and merchandise/ring - but the girl I talked to was so busy telling me how much the idea or each piece of jewelry would cost that I couldnt get a word in edgewise. And she was snotty about it. Really feel she was intimating that I wouldnt be able to afford what i asked about. News flash: This aint my first rodeo. Im covered in tats and your poor customer service at the outset of a transaction cost you a customer. If the customer isnt asking how much it costs, dont offer that information. To reiterate: Its IRRELEVANT if I dont like what I see. And rude.

Joe did my first tattoo on my 18th birthday and everyone in the shop was very professional and made me feel so much better! they even put up a privacy screen while i was being tattooed :) great experience totally recommend joe for tattoos

Walked in to just get a price and was greeted by Cody. I told him what I wanted he drew it out and I was sold. Got my tattoo right then and there. Excellent job and excellent service.

Came here did not have a good experience. so we left and will not be back! Owner with the color in his eyeballs was rude to us and the black ladies that came in call it coincidence but no one will get our money with that type of service we don’t care how good or bad services are respect goes a long way

My tattoo looks awful. Considering its supposed to be a memorial for someone I lost and I hate it! .. The color isnt pigmented enough, you can clearly see the lack of skill in the lines.. Kind of reminds me of someone coloring outside the lines , didnt have a steady hand at all . And I have no clue what that sticker thing was they put on my arm after I got the tattoo but it pulled some of the color OUT OF THE TATTOO. Some parts resemble a scab now. Totally not worth it DO NOT spend your money here. And I feel like they charged me double the tattoo isnt even that big. Such a waste of 150$ Now I must get an even bigger tattoo to cover this one because it doesnt look good.
