Never a bad experience, have got all my work done here and will continue to come back. Travis is awesome, staff are super friendly and the place is CLEAN! Very cool decor all around too. Excellent environment and a nice spot to get a tattoo!

Great atmosphere. Piercing artist Amanda is excellent! She made me feel completely at ease and fully informed. Also, probably my least painful piercing ever, hardly felt a thing!

Huge thanks to Oculo Visitant as a business and especially my artist Alex VanDeusen. From the moment I walked in I was welcomed and he was very professional during the entire tat. The design he drew up for me exceeded my expectations and he went to resize it a few times upon determining it would look better for the area I was getting the tattoo now that I was in person. Brought airpods for music but didn’t need it, the tunes were awesome. Would get another here and with Alex in a heartbeat. Great service, great energy, and incredible art, couldn’t be happier.

I waited to post this. This was my first tattoo, I even let everyone know. Was told the tattoo was 250$. The day of my tattoo they set me up with an apprentice. I didnt realize this was an apprentice until he asked for help from the other tattoo artist and was told thats a you problem. Because he took longer I was charged more and had to pay 350$. Wont be returning because the tattoo just missed the mark and I asked for a simple name done in the super Mario lettering.

I got my rook pierced by Amanda on Friday and it was such an amazing experience. I did a lot of research on studios before I landed on this super clean and welcoming environment. Amanda is so caring and makes you feel extremely comfortable. Amanda opened all the piercing equipment in front of me and walked me through every single step. It’s still a fresh piercing but it looks like I’ve had it for a while and I feel no soreness or discomfort. Thank you Amanda for such a great experience. Maybe I’ll see you next year for a new piercing! 😊

Matty, the inexperienced apprentice did a mediocre job on my strawberries and blueberries tattoo. The color faded tremendously as it healed, he was rude to me didn’t want to touch it up, and I’m just unhappy with the final result. Next time be nicer to your paying customers! In the photos, it DID look nice at first but then the color faded a lot, he must’ve used cheap ink or didn’t press hard enough into the skin when tattooing. Maybe if you’d apologize and be kind to me I wouldn’t have left this review!

My friend and I came in yesterday as walk-ins to try and get some tattoos. We were squeezed in 2 hours before closing and our Artist, Travis stayed late to do the jobs. I am beyond satisfied with my piece. Absolutely incredible work. This was my first time at this shop but my friend was a re-occurring client and raving about the work done here. I had to see what it was all about. Clean, welcoming and respectful environment. I felt very comfortable here and will be returning for all of my next pieces. Highly recommend.

Daniel did a portrait of my dogs with their birth flowers and he did such an amazing job! I recommend him to anyone! I will be having him do all my tattoos from now on! It is so crazy how real my tattoo looks like my boys! I am in love with my tattoo!! I can’t wait to get more!

I have used this studio twice now, most recently for an idea I had in my head but didnt know how to really articulate or execute. Alex onboarded me, was definitely the friendliest tattoo artist Ive ever worked with, was communicative throughout the planning and creative. The design he came up with was better than what I had envisioned. He was highly professional, kind and a great conversationalist throughout the process. He made me feel comfortable, and it was actually the least painful tattoo Ive ever gotten. I will probably only be using Alex at Oculo Visitant from here on out. Highly recommend!

Xanthian Moon is an AMAZING tattoo artist!! she pays attention to details, and always blesses me with beautiful tattoos! i recommend her to people from all over the states! she’s so respectful and down to earth- truly appreciative and amazing!

Good atmosphere, everyone is super chill. Lance was willing to stay late to do my tattoo which was super nice and unexpected.Updating my review because I recently had a piercing! I got a forward helix piercing and Amanda was literally a gem. She was so kind and fun to talk to. She walked me through the entire process and worked with me for placement. She was honest and so chill. Would absolutely get pierced from her again in a heartbeat.

I had dental work done so I couldn’t feel my face and it occurred to me that that would be perfect timing to get my nose pierced. They were able to accommodate me within about 20 minutes after opening when I called ahead and the piercer that I had explained everything really really well and even warned me that I might still feel something even though my face was numb. She was great, I love that all the documents were digital and it wasn’t a huge hassle to verify my age or sign all the forms. I am happy with the service that was provided.

I got my tattoo done by Lance. I was able to get the tattoo I wanted that I love. Lance gave his input on some details which turned out great. He was great at making sure I was comfortable during my session.I would highly recommend anyone wanting a tattoo to go here, they are all very welcoming and friendly. The process wasn’t long and I barely felt any pain. Lance has a soft touch when doing his work. If I decide to get another tat I would definitely want Lance to do it

I personally believe that this is the best tattoo shop in the area. Since I discovered their work 3 years ago, it is the only place that I trust and go to for every tattoo. Rates are reasonable for the great work that is done. Attention to detail is immaculate, I really do appreciate how much time they take, especially Travis, to get it done right.Scheduling is always nice and easy. Equipment is always brand new and everything is wiped down right in front of you, before and after the session. Every staff member I have interacted with is very creative, and open to helping you with new ideas. Will always give them my business.

Best place to ever get work done.. its not a job for these guys, its what they live and breathe for, us the customers!! An hour into my appointment I felt so assured on my choices, honestly I felt like family.. the level of skill this place has is unbelievable. My son had his first tattoo done here, such amazing work, definitely a great first experience. I would recommend this place and the owner a hundred times over.. tattoos are for forever im so glad to have had the experience with this place and the artist... amazing work you guys!!!

When you first walk in the atmosphere is nice and open, not at all stuffy or claustrophobic like other tat shops I’ve been to. The artists do all types of styles and have beautiful, clean work, a professional attitude, and offer great conversation.Making an appointment with them is easy, be ready to wait a few weeks to a few months though, as a lot of the artists book their time quickly. I loved my experience and my tattoo came out great, healing was a piece of cake, and no reactions to the inks or needles, everything was sterilized and my artist was super gentle with me. Like I said, I loved the whole experience !!

I had a wonderful experience here! Travis was very polite and talkative through my whole tattoo. He also spent a good amount of time making sure the stencil for my tattoo sat well on my arm and that the design worked well around the shape of my arm. I will definitely be going back here for my next tattoo!

My daughter and I went to see Amanda for our ear piercings and we can’t say enough nice things about her! Our ears look great, she was so patient and kind. I got tattooed by Shani here as well, and was very happy with my experience and result. She has since moved out of state, but everyone at Oculo has been helpful and friendly.

Both times I’ve come to this shop I’ve had a great experience. The first time with Travis, he freehanded a coverup on my forearm and absolutely killed it. Great work and super friendly! Tonight I came in to get a piercing done with Amanda. It used to be open so before she pierced she tried to open with the taper. It thankfully was open and didn’t need the needle. I was so incredibly thankful for her trying! She also made sure to show me all the equipment she used was sterile. This shop is super clean and staffed with talented good people. Definitely the best tattoo/piercing shop in Oneonta!

I got my first tattoo here! I made an appointment with Travis, he did an awesome job and he’s very friendly and informative. My tattoo was pretty simple so it didn’t take long. He gave me good instructions on how to care for it afterwards. If I ever get another I know where I’m going!

This was my first real piercing and Amanda made what was an anxiety ridden experience into something fun and enjoyable. I got my nipples done and she was absolutely fantastic, she made me so comfortable and confident and I will definitely recommend her to everyone! Thank you Amanda!!!

I went to lance for my first tattoo, he said it was going to be around 150. When we were all done he said it was 375 which was way over what I expected or even planned on spending. I am very upset by what happened and wish I had the confidence to stick up for myself. It is clear he took advantage of me for my inexperience with getting tattoos. I will not recommend this shop from now on.

Hubby got an amazing custom partial sleeve done by Travis. Everyone was super welcoming and accommodating. Travis is extremely talented in what he does. He incorporated every single element my husband wanted and made the idea come to life. I will definitely continue to go to oculo in the future. Already have the next date set up and we physically can’t wait to come back again! 5 stars all around!

I had my first tattoo done by Daniel and it was a great! I was pretty nervous, and he talked me through the process and told me what to expect. Prior to my appointment he took my ideas and made it into the perfect tattoo to honor my Dad. The shop is very clean and every step taken was meticulous. Got my first professionally done tattoo done at Oculo by Daniel in September, and I was pleasantly surprised how comfortable and fun the process was! I felt very welcomed and the cleanliness of the place assured me I was in good hands. Daniel did an amazing job, the colors are vibrant and the line work couldn’t be cleaner! I’ll be coming back for sure!

If you’re looking for a tattoo in Oneonta, I highly recommend you walk through their door. I’ve had 3 tattoos done here, not only was each a great experience but I always left with quality work. Daniel and Travis are two of the best artists I’ve had the pleasure of getting tattooed by. They both truly care about the art work they put out and will exceed your expectations.

The shop was very clean and neat. Everyone was professional. Travis did my tattoo and it came out great. I got a couple of traditional flowers. The price was right in line with what youd expect. I will go there again.

Called to see if they had openings, they told me to walk in, and I got seated almost right away! Super clean, super friendly, and pretty quick. Travis was awesome and made quick work of the piece on my ribs. Made good conversation too, which helps distract from the pain... Only cost $150 for a piece spanning most of my ribs, and I couldnt ask for better quality.EDIT: Just about a year later, and it was time for more ink. Once more I walked in and got seated very quickly, this time with Daniel. Another great experience with good conversation and a high quality tattoo. An affordable $120 for a pretty large linework piece on my shoulder blade. This place does not miss!

I went here to get my right nostril pierced and I was extremely pleased with the service. Amanda, the piercer, was so polite and walked me through every step of the process, making sure to answer any questions I had. It’s been over two weeks since the piercing and it’s healing beautifully. Thank you!

Tattoo was great and I get so many compliments and am proud of the work, but I should not have had to get my tattoo touched up less than a month after getting it. They did this for free, which Im appreciative of but still. The equipment or soap used, gave me an averse reaction, then when I went in to ask my artists how I should care for the rash and tattoo, another artists stepped in and lied, saying it was a razor burn and treated me as an unreasonable customer, unknowing of how to care for a tattoo and completely at fault. I have never had issues with tattoos in the past and how I care for them until I got this tattoo from here. I ended up having to go to the doctor and was prescribed steroids, because it wasnt a razor burn, like I tried telling them and they refused to listen. Good art but even bigger egos. Not worth going back honestly if the artists are just going to be rude and make you feel bad if anything goes wrong.

My daughter and I met with Lance for tattoos. Lance did an amazing job capturing our beloved Mima for her. He did a beautiful job with the addition to my breast cancer pink ribbon from years ago. I’m so excited to see the final image after healing. Lance worked from a photo and text for my daughter and free hand drew mine. So happy with his work! Thanks Lance and Oculo!

Love this tattoo shop! Just got tattooed by Travis and had a wonderful experience! The shop has a great atmosphere and all the artists are very friendly whether or not youre being tattooed by them. My tattoos by Travis look amazing and I cannot wait to book appointments with them in the future. I highly recommend this shop!

I just got another tattoo done today. Every time the service was excellent and the staff was kind. When it comes to tattoos I would highly recommend going here. Words can often be meager things especially when trying to find the words to describe the wonderful and unique experience that is provided by Oculo; Oneontas PREMIER tattoo shop.For me it had been almost 8 years since my last tattoo, which was a simple glyph the size of a small orange that took no more than an hour or two. Never before had I had a piece of this magnitude done on my body. I was in unfamiliar territory and I would be lying if I said that I didnt feel some small sense of anxiousness.I chose to work with Dan and words cannot begin to describe his level of professionalism and the quality of his work. He has taken years to perfect his craft and the passion that he infuses into his work is a testament to his artistic gift.Dan made the five hour session on my forearm feel like a fraction of the time that I actually spent sitting in the chair. I came with headphones and an external battery for my phone not knowing what to expect from what I thought may prove to be an arduous session. I soon found that they were unnecessary items for me to have brought.Dan is an incredibly down-to-earth individual and an absolute pleasure to speak with. I found myself immersed in good conversation for a majority of the session. He made the entire experience beyond better than what I ever could have hoped it to be and I will definitely be returning.Dont make the mistake of taking your business elsewhere. Choose Oculo and most definitely choose Dan. Not only will you leave your session with a work of art on your body, but youll leave your session with a friend. Thank you again, Dan!

Ive been getting tattoos there for years and have mostly enjoyed the experience, and have even driven almost 2 hours to get there each time. However, I did have one appointment rescheduled on me last minute (10 pm the night before) because the artist was sick, and another one rescheduled last minute (again, 10pm the night before) due to the same artists personal issues. The last appointment I was supposed to get (on my birthday) I was ghosted by the same artist and have not heard from them since. Great work comes from that shop and all the artists there, but the one I was working with in particular lacks professionalism when it comes to their loyal clients. I wont be going back.

So my husband and I were running errands in oneonta, right around when these guys opened up. I had originally came in to get an estimate and booking but they got me all squared away for a walk in which was awesome! The receptionist was super nice and when we had gone back for our afternoon appointment she introduced us to shani who did both of our tattoos. She was very sweet and professional and listened to us when we wanted to make slight adjustments in location and concept. She also made sure we walked out with photos of our tattoo and with answering any of our questions. I highly recommend this place for a tattoo.

I was a walk in appointment and I was offered a spot that same day. I was not able to do it that day but I was then given an appointment the next day. The price quoted was very reasonable and when I arrived for my appointment a few minutes early, my artist, Shani, was already waiting for me. I was having the tattoo done on the top of my foot and she did such a awesome job! It came out beautiful! I would recommend this place and also going to see her!

Being new to the Oneonta area, I did my research and found Oculo Visitant Gallery. Went in and was able to chat about what I wanted and got it scheduled right away. Since, I’ve had a few sessions with Travis and have been nothing but thrilled with the process. Each session at the shop is relaxing and fun. Travis is a pleasure to work with and I am impressed by his work on my tattoo every session we have. He has turned my idea into a great piece of art. I’m excited to keep going back to Travis and to Oculo. The other artists there are insanely talented and friendly. Everyone was so nice and sweet. I had no problems going in there and getting my tattoo. I was tattooed by Dan and I couldnt have asked for a better tattoo. And getting tattooed where I was getting tattooed, my sternum, I felt very comfortable. I highly recommend anyone go here for a tattoo, from Dan or anyone who works in the shop.

I walked into this shop around 5oclock Tuesday night after just coming from another tattoo shop up the rd to get my sons name tattooed on my neck. One of the tattoo artist (Dan I believe ) pretty much cautioned me about how a neck tattoo COULD be portrayed by people and how It may effect certain things which I completely ignored BUT respected because it showed he cared . I got a next day appointment with Lance who I Facebook stalked when I got home to see what his work looked like before I let him touch me with permanent ink. I was a little worried because he just started there a few months prior and there wasn’t any reviews from anyone about him. His work looked good so I decided to go ahead and show up for my appointment. Before even showing up he drew up countless amounts of different tattoos for me and showed me his favorite one which I absolutely loved. I told him I was nervous about getting it tattooed one my neck and I was worried about it hurting like holy hell but he made me feel comfortable and even make me laugh a few times ( which is rare) 🤷🏽‍♀️. He took his time and made sure everything was perfect, you can really tell that he truly and honestly cares about his work. I’m still not exactly sure if neck tattoos hurt or not because he doesn’t have a heavy hand and he has a soft touch which was also great. I definitely recommend him you won’t be disappointed! I’ll also definitely be going back to him for all future work.

Guy who answered the phone was kind of rude for no reason, but Amanda was amazing! Super nice, squeezed me in and placed new jewelry in my septum for me after my jewelry unexpectedly fell out earlier in the day.

I’ve been getting tattooed here since 2016 and I’ve always had a wonderful experience. All of the artists take their time to get to know you and make you feel incredibly comfortable during the tattoo. The shop is incredibly clean and any questions you have about the tattooing process, they will answer without hesitation. Unfortunately I have moved from the area but will always put a trip to OVG on my to-do list when I’m back in town!!

From the first contact, by email with Jan, to the consultation with Craig and Travis, to the actual tattoo by Travis...all 5 Star. Very clean, very personal, great music playing in the background. (Not to loud...just perfect.). Since it was my first tattoo, Travis was great about explaining everything in detail for me. By the time he started, I was very relaxed. My tattoo was inside the wrist...and it didnt hurt at all. After Travis finished, he explained in detail how to care and clean the tattoo. While there they were doing much more detailed tattoos then mine, so if you need an experienced talented tattoo artist, this is definitely the place to go. Highly recommended.

Ive been to this shop for both piercings and tattoos, and I must say, this shop really nails it in their customer service and work. The piercer was very informative about the piercing I went in to get. Their pricing was fantastic, and their custom jewelry is simply gorgeous and high quality. Im allergic to most metals, so it was refreshing to see that they had good quality gold and silver jewelry that was decorative as well. The tattoo artists are incredibly talented, and were as excited about my tattoo as I was. Ive had multiple tattoo sessions there, and the artist was sure to make sure that I was comfortable throughout my sessions, which werent short by any means. They have a great tattoo team that are skilled at doing multiple tattoo styles from traditional Japanese styles, to traditional American styles, realism, portraits and even the more whimsical styles. Every time I have gone to this shop I have been met with professionalism and great quality work. I would recommend this shop to anyone who is tired of having to get coverups due to unsatisfactory work at other shops.

Can’t say enough about how amazing the studio is. Travis was an absolute pleasure to have work on me. From his professionalism and cleanliness to his ability to make you feel like your work is the most important piece he’s ever done. Simply incredible all around.

They’re awesome people who do even better artI’ve had work done by Xanthian, Travis, and Dan. Dan has been my go to artist and does a great job with the black and gray realism but not limited to. I’ve had about 10 pieces done amongst the 3 of them. All of my friends use this as their go to shop and I would say look at each artists work before choosing your person because they’re all good. I’ll be going here for the remainder of the art I want done!

I have always been intrigued by the art in he studio and finally had my opp to get inked. Dan the Man was superior! Very friendly, highly skilled and I couldnt be happier. He was able to offer me his opinion on revitalizing a pre-exisiting tattoo and what a job he did! Please stop in and support a local and superb business! It was my daughters and my first time getting a tattoo. Our tattoos came out fantastic! I will go back again. Very clean atmosphere, I watched how they prepped their areas before and after each customer. Our artists name was Xanthia Moon.

Amazing shop and amazing staff! Gene is a master at his skill and trade. He did a perfect double nostril piercing on me and I couldnt be more happy. He was recommended to me by my first piercer who moved out of area and I drive over an hour to see Gene and its more than worth the drive!

So we were put on a waiting list and they said they called us(shawna). I did not have any missed calls from there or messages! I said please have us on there still and they called on Saturday at 11(shawna) we could not go at that time as we were working. I had discussed about making an appointment if they could not get us back on list to call. I called back today and she(shawna) was not very professional and basically I asked if I come in at 11 Saturday when you open as a walk in can you do a very simple 20 min tatoo! She said no we already have it filled! Why do you do walk ins if you are booked???? She is rude and stale! I have had tattoos done there and husband one. By Travis. But I would not ever go now!

Nice clean shop. Artist was very friendly, made sure we were comfortable and informed. Didnt hesitate to answer all our questions. Clean organized station. Does nice work. The guy that greeted us at the front desk could work on his customer/social skills, not very friendly. Overall, I would recommend shop.

Came to Oneonta for a walk in tattoo, the studio had time and was so happy to do it for me. I have a mild form Adhd so sometimes I move because my brain is going a mile a minute. The tattoo artist simply asked if i was okay and reminded me to just relax it was a really good way to handle it. I would totally recommend a tattoo for this studio!

So about a month or so ago we called to make an appointment for a very nice Japanese dragon and such and our artist went in vacation. Not a big deal but then we weren’t notified of this, the shop still took our deposit even though there were no plans to have this tattoo drawn up or have actual contact with our tattoo artist. Then about a month of not hearing anything out artist CRIAG calls us and threatens us to beat us up and our bosses and family? Very unprofessional and then proceeds to keep taking down our reviews because they don’t want to people to see how unprofessional CRIAG is. I have nothing against the actual shop or the other artist I just find it extremely inappropriate to be harassed from an artist when there was clearly a miscommunication.

Exceptionally clean shop, friendly staff and artists, and incredible work. They walked me through each step of the tattoo process, gave great advice, and made sure I was happy. Cant recommend this shop more highly.

Xanthian Moon is the best tattoo artist I have ever met. She is the sweetest person and wonderful to work with. I would highly recommend her in particular.

Shani was absolutely lovely and did an amazing job! Since we both had the time she was even able to do a touch up of my letters. I cant wait to get my next piece with her!

Very happy with the tattoo I got here. The staff was awesome. The place was very clean. I love how the tattoo guns are digital now so I was only charged for the time the needle was moving.
