Big City Tattoo and Piercing

Environment was great and friendly. My first tattoo was on my ribs but it wasn’t very painful. Kenny, who did mine and my friend’s tattoos and piercing was very kind and quick. All while helping other customers as well. Would definitely recommend plus tattoo guarantees so no need to worry if you need touch ups.

Just got my first tattoo here. I came in like an hour before close as a walk in and everyone was great. Got exactly what I wanted, it was super quick, didnt hurt at all. The artist was Devin and he was super nice. Im definitely going back for my next one.

After seeing some work done on a friend of mine by Lou Hansen, my wife and I stopped in Saturday afternoon. We talked with Lou, and my wife showed him what she wanted. He said, Give me a few, and he drew it up. Lou does awesome work, and his attention to detail is great. We enjoyed our conversation with him while he inked my wifes leg. Hes very down to earth and, as said before, great at what he does. After he finished her tattoo, we discussed my tattoo and what I wanted. Mine is going to be about 3 hours, so Im going to set that up in the future. I then showed him a drawing my son had done in elementary school, welp next thing he had it drawn up and inked me too. Both tattos came out amazing. Mine looked exactly like my sons drawing, which made me very happy. I cant wait to see what he does with my future tattoo. Everyone one in the shop is down to earth and very nice. I could not have gotten a better experience than the one we had. 8-22-24 update, all three of us in the house have gotten new tattoos by Lou. I got my monkey bones, my wife got the steer, and my son, the skull. Lou is a great tattoo artist.

Absolutely in love with my experience getting my tattoo done! Devin was amazing made me feel comfortable the whole time. Gave him the idea of what I wanted and it came out better than I could have asked for. Will definitely go back and see him again to get another one. Absolutely amazing! Don is amazing at what he does! My husband came in with a tattoo that was done in 2005 and needed to add our youngest to his tattoo. The tattoo was faded and lines were a mess. Don reworked the tattoo and brought the tattoo back to life and added our youngest name to the tattoo to blend perfectly with the tattoo. The tattoo looks amazing! My son turns 18 on the 17th of June and so we wanted this done before he turned 18. We showed our son and he was so happy to see the tattoo as well! Thank you so much Big City and Don for taking care of this for my family, you really don’t know what this means to us! If you are needing a tattoo done this is the place to go for sure!!

I didnt make an appointment walk ins are welcome, there was a deal 50$ for my septum piercing, felt welcomed and my peircer gave me instructions and tips on how to clean and maintain it, vibrant art on the wall, and if i got another piercing I would get it here I really recommend it over many places especially the price, cleanliness was great and my septum healed perfectly and sits in a great spot. Thank you, big city tattoo!! You all are doing great work. Around November, I might be there again for a belly piercing!!

I scheduled an appointment via messenger for a small forearm tattoo the day before. I arrived at time of appointment and my artist (whoever it was supposed to be, still have no idea who) wasn’t even there. I waited for an hour with no communication from anyone. The piercer in the shop had no idea either. After an hour he makes some more calls inquiring who was supposed to do my tattoo and got told they would be here in 10-15 minutes. I left. After I left I got a message stating the artist had transportation issues and had just arrived and if I would come back they would give me 1/2 off, and then stated if I couldn’t come back today they could schedule another day and would honor the discount and then give me a gift certificate as well. How can I trust that the artist will be there next time? Or communication? Awful communication and customer service. Glad I didn’t get a permanent tattoo from them. DO NOT RECOMMEND.

Did a walk in 30 minutes prior to store closing with my brother and cousin. usually we would set up appointments, especially for tattoos, but this night we had family event and long story short we wanted to get a tattoo to honor our grandmother. walked in and Devin was the only artist there. we asked if he could do a last minute tattoo, its a short letter from our grandmother and there was 2 of us. Devin took us in and tattood my cousin and I within 1hr even including preparations and everything. my tattoo is healing perfectly & I appreciate you so much Devin! such fast work and amazing line work!

Phoenix was an amazing tattoo artist and goes out of his way to make sure you know his tools are completely sterilized. I appreciate Pheonix for getting me my brother in the last minute tattoos for our dad on the day of his funeral. I will never forget my dad thanks to Pheonix taking the time to tattoo my father’s name and dates on my arm. I highly recommend going to Phoenix for your tattoos. He is amazing. 💕💕

I’ve gotten a couple tattoos at Big City and being a regular still wasn’t enough to earn the owners trust. She accused the artist I go to see and I for doing shady stuff. The environment is not safe and welcoming with her around. Multiple other artists there last only so long and it’s probably cause they saw who she really was. Would not recommend business here.

I Got my first tattoo and Im not going to lie I was a little nervous. But Devin the tattoo artist was amazing!!! He made sure I was comfortable and he really has a light hand did not hurt at all. I will definitely be going back to Devin for My next tattoo 😁. Thank you for the awesome experience!!!

Just got a couples tattoo done this weekend and the service was excellent! Absolutely no wait, everyone had a smile on their face, and the tattoos came out beautiful. My fiancé and I really enjoyed how conversational and personal the staff were, and I plan on going back for any of my tattoo/piercing needs. Thank you guys!!

My friend and I came in yesterday for tattoos and had a great experience! Amber was our artist and she was so great to talk to, and the vibes were amazing! She was very laid back and we felt so comfortable the whole time! Absolutely no complaints here, will definitely keep coming back!

Don was the best piercer ever I got my nipples and belly button pierced and it went by so quick and smooth definitely 10/10!!!! Recommended!!!Ri was also the best assistant ever!!!!

Amazing and professional place. I had issues with piercing I had done in other shop. Kenny was great at fixing the issues and even gave me a new clean piercing. Would be coming back for any future piercings.

Amber is amazing. She is detail oriented like every artist should be. Came as a walk in an help me edit and set up my designs. Even told me what she wasnt comfortable with so I wouldnt be disappointed. I appreciate that a lot for sure. I like working with artists who are confident and know their skill set and own it. Plus she is a lot faster than I am used to without missing quality. And cool af to talk to. 😎As far as the shop itself. It is very beautiful inside. The offer some snacks and water. Very awesome first experience here and will be back probably tomorrow to get another my the other artist!

After almost 2 years I finally got my memorial tattoos for my son. Amber Hart not only nailed his handwriting, she did the tattoo with respect. Loved it (and her) so much I brought my husband back last weekend to get his larger ‘Father and Son Memories’ piece. Highly recommend Amber! Very sterile environment complete with an upbeat vibe

I took my mom (who is almost 50) here for her first tattoo and we had a great experience! Justin and Amber were so patient and accommodating - my mom was nervous but they put her at ease, answered all her questions, and she had a great first tattoo experience. Came to Big City Tattoo with the design below and Rico really did it justice. It took 3.5 hours but it was worth it and I really appreciated his attention to detail. As you can see in the photos, it came out beautifully. It may be my favorite tattoo!

I wasnt sure where I wanted to get a tattoo at, it was a very last minute decision. I came across this tattoo place and was greeted right away. Since I didnt have an appointment I asked if there was anyone available. Sure enough there was, my first female tattoo artist. I have over 30 so it was very exciting to experience this. Her name is Amber and she I amazing. Just got something small and not a lot of detail, her line work and shading is outstanding. If you are looking for a female artist I would highly recommend her. Im for sure going back to her!

I got my septum pierced and my daughter messed with it and it immediately closed! Don got me back in immediately and repierced it for me and was so sweet and didn’t make me feel embarrassed about it! I will only go to him now for future piercings

Had Justin as my tattoo artist. It was my first tattoo so I was worried of the procedure including aftercare and even my own pain tolerance of it. They walked me through so smoothly, doing everything in front of me and reviewing me through all the materials, tattoo process, etc as they went. Answered every single one of my questions. Even offered to do a small inkless test in order to help me anticipate the pain level. I drove a fair distance to get my tattoo from here and I would ABSOLUTELY do it again. I love my tattoo! Will update after it heals.

Had an amazing experience with the extended Friday the 13th experience. @billyraydube was my husband and I tattoo artist for the night. He was absolutely wonderful, we had such a great vibe from the beginning and will definitely be back for more tattoos. He was quick, not heavy handed, great with small lines and the color was great. Was looking around to get a tattoo of my deceased parents signatures above my knee and i spoke to the owner and Muna was able to get me in same day with Billy. My friend and I came in to get two shark tattoos today. When one tattoo artist (who no longer works there) fell through Justin came in and killed it! We both love our tattoos and ended up having a great experience. The staff were very personable and friendly. We enjoyed talking to Justin and Jayme (piercer) while getting our tats done. We will definitely come back for future tattoos and piercings!

Walked in for a tattoo. At first glance the shop is very gross. I could hear rats in the ceiling.and I saw black mold in the tiles in places. Tbh this place needs to be shut down. The the owner has zero knowledge of tattooing. I would not recommend going to place. I will never go back there.come I did not get a tattoo done. I am sure the health department will love to hear all

My friend and I were walk in guests asking for two fine line tattoos and the artists were so welcoming. They took the time to sketch out just what we were looking for making sure we loved it, and all for an amazing price. I am so happy with our tattoos and I would come here every day if I could.

I have gotten the majority of my tattoos from here and they’re amazing every time, i came in today for their friday the 13th sale and Billy Dube did the cutest little ghost for me, he’s amazing! would give more than 5 stars if possible!

I had a consult with her 2 weeks beforehand; she was really receptive to my ideas and came back with awesome designs. Once it came time to sit in the chair it only got better from there. Great vibes, great music, and a phenomenal tattoo! Totally left on cloud nine!Dec 2021 - Rico was so awesome to work with! Great atmosphere, very comforting, respectful and fun conversation. Other artists were friendly as well. Will definitely return for the next tattoo!

Justin is beyond amazing. I came in wanting a simple neck and arm tattoo and I ended up showing him a previous tattoo that I did notLike…he told me how he could fix it and I came back the next day to get it corrected. The tattoo that I once hated is now something beautiful! He is very sanitary and professional and made sure that I was comfortable during the whole process. If you’re wanting a tattoo artist who is knowledgeable and very personable…Justin is your guy!

I absolutely loved my expletive my piercer was chad. He was absolutely amazing, spectacular. Made me feel comfortable. I got like 4 piercings and it was really quick. Overall great experience definitely am going back for more.

Got my nostril pierced here. they used the wrong jewelry, pierced it crooked as hell, and the piercing got all messed up. place sucks. would not go back, you shouldnt either.👎edit to reply to the owner: I dont have my legal last name on here for privacy reasons, which is likely why you cant find me in your records. But I got it pierced on a Friday the 13th special which is probably why it was pierced incorrectly. Im not looking for a refund, just to let others know about my experience with this shop as far as piercings go.

Had my Nose Pierced by Jayme the night after my daughters were pierced. One septum and one helix. They were still laughing when they got home and I was so relieved because this Mom knew they were nervous. I loved how he used humor to diffuse them and let them ease through it. We all went back the next day with another daughter and they were right. Just the right amount of humor. Very clean. Always telling us what to expect so no surprises. We were laughing the whole time. Thank you for a great experience. I was not sure about it. I’ve hit it a thousand times, but it just keeps on staying put. No problems at all. Makes me want to try the helix. Forget piercing pagoda. Now know why it never worked when pierced from there. Thank you Jayme for explaining everything so well. We will be back. I’ll keep my tattoo artist here. The tattoo artist there (with the gauges) didn’t impress me with his girlfriend finishing his every sentence. She seemed a little young and very unprofessional while talking to new customers and her legs draped over his. Too big of an age difference honestly. Please tell me she is over 18. Something seemed off there. 🤷‍♀️ Anyway…not my circus, not my monkeys! We will come find you for our next piercing. We have recommended you also to a few people. Hope they have treated you well. 😀.

Chad is awesome! He pierced my brow and I didn’t even feel it. And he also repierced my nostril today and didn’t charge me the full price as it wasn’t fully closed. Overall, really good piercings and a clean, safe feeling environment. Brought several friends to get theirs done here also! Chad you rock! Give this main a raise! 🙏

My daughter,two roommates and I. All went in for piercings. Walking-in all at once. 2 nose. 2 tongues. We were in and out in no time. Best service ever. Great pr>ce. He did an amazing job. We will definitely be going back.

I just left about 3 minutes ago and all i can say is they’re incredible. After getting pierced my blood pressure dropped extremely fast (which was due to a medical issue of mine. Nothing they did.) and they were very helpful trying to get me to feel better. I almost completely blacked out and they were patient with me and very nice. I even got a jolly rancher and a Japanese candy thing after. I was very happy to go in there. I got pierced by Jayme and he was amazing. James also sat in there for a bit and told me jokes and stuff. They’re just great. 10/10 would recommend

My friend & I came in Sunday at noon for an appointment & the tattoo artist never showed (they no longer work there), the owner was very apologetic & everyone who worked there was awesome (specifically Justin & Jayme & the owner Muna). Justin ended up doing our tattoos & he absolutely crushed it! It was a great experience & we definitely will be going back.

Jayme is the bomb!! He pierced my nose and my boyfriends ears for a very good price! He has a very steady hand and really made us feel comfortable. He showed us that everything was sterile and new. Overall a very professional and great experience! Will definetley go back for sure!!!

This is the best tattoo/piercing shop in town. I had a tough week, and decided to treat myself. These folks were so kind and professional. Both my tattoo artist and my piercer were so patient and gentle, they listened. The staff didn’t have that stinky attitude that most other shops have. My experience was truly therapeutic. I HIGHLY recommend this place.

I didnt have an appointment but Rico made time for me. Never met him but this guy put alot of work in to draw up 2 separate designs for my fiance and I. He was fast, but not rushed, and just very confident in his work. Made me feel very comfortable. His prices reflected quality and I dont think I could have left happier. Cant wait to come back!

I went in and saw Shane. He did an amazing job on my tat! Best experience Ive ever had getting tatted and I have over 30 tats! his color work is awesome and he works quick! He was extremely accommodating and helpful with deciding placement and the designof my tattoo!!! He truly wants to do artwork that you will love! He is also an extremely personable and down to earth dude! I will always recommend him to anyone who asks.

Drew an idea and had Chelsea redraw it for me. She did an amazing job! Great artwork. Probably the lightest hand Ive had tattoo me before. Super happy with the whole experience. Enjoyed it so much that my teenager went to her as well for her very first tattoo.

Got my eyebrow pierced here, Jaymes great. Walked me through the whole thing, didnt hurt at all, and hes real fun to talk to. Made sure I knew how to care for it afterwards, and even took a look at a nose piercing I got done somewhere else since I was worried about if it was healing right. Awesome place, gonna be coming back a whole lot.

Went in for a piercing for my self and my teen girls, Jayme was great! He kept the teenagers laughing although they were ready to flee in fear of it hurting 🤣. (Both girls confirmed the belly ring didnt hurt after the fact.) Shop was super clean and really all the staff in there at the time were super nice.

Mark is great!! I got 2 tattoos done by him today and he is amazing! Very nice and personable. He was recommended by family who only have work done by him. Im very happy with my decision to go to him and Im already planning my next session!

I got my tragus pierced by Jayme recently and it was the best experience with a piercer by far. I have 12 ear piercings and Jayme was the easiest to talk to and was super meticulous making sure everything, even me, was okay. It’s already healing so nicely and I will definitely be back soon for another piercing

I took my 16 year old daughter here for her belly button to be pierced for her birthday. The guy doing piercings was Jayme. All seemed great while we waited our turn until he finished with his customer and told us that he needed to get high before he pierced her. He walked around with a blunt in his hand with even other children in the lobby, and he then went out in front of hos business and started smoking a blunt with his tattoo artists, my 16 year old got way to scared for him to pierce her while he was stoned and we walked out. I have no issues with the man smoking. But do it on ur own time. Not when you are about to pierce a child🤦🏼‍♀️

Rico did my friend and I’s tattoos and he was super kind & chill throughout the whole experience! It was my first time getting a tattoo so I was super nervous but then when he started tattooing I realized I just worked myself up for no reason lol. I will definitely be back to get work done by him. Definitely recommend !!

This is my second time getting tatted here and I loved it both times!! Both artists made me comfortable, engaged in conversation with me, and on top of that provided me a tattoo that’s exactly how I wanted it. My fav tattoo artist is Jake and he was literally hilarious, I definitely plan on going back to him!

Just got a small tattoo done below my collarbone yesterday by Hambone. Not only was he extremely chill, he made me feel very welcomed and comfortable. Was visiting out of state and decided to get a last minute tattoo. They were able to fit me in easily and were so helpful. I was in and out with high quality work that I’m in love with.

First of all, Luis is my absolute favorite artist there. My guy! He does the best work and always makes me feel comfortable throughout the entire tattoo. I have major OCD and he takes the time to make sure it’s perfect before we do it, with no passive aggressiveness. The last time i came for Luis, however, Jayme actually got me into a piercing which i never do! I got my nose pierced and he was so sweet the entire process. He even wiped my tears for me afterwards! We talked about music and life and i felt not only comfortable with my piercing, but the person piercing me. I would definitely go back to Jayme if i ever decided piercings over tattoos, LOL. i’m grateful for people like them. ❤️ Will always come back to this shop.

I love this place. I got my helix pierced by Jayme and he made the entire experience comfortable and talked me through it. After receiving the piercing I felt a bit nauseous so Jayme gave me candy and a bottled water to calm me down. Talented and great experience.

I went in on august 18th, 2022 to get my tongue re pierced for my 27th birthday. Jayme was super nice, but he volunteered info my fiancé and i didnt need to know. I should have walked out then, but i really was excited to get my tongue pierced again. I did not see him take the forceps out of a packaging, i didnt see him wash his hands, just put gloves on. The only thing i saw him take out of a package was the needle and the barbell. I did all the proper cleaning process because this isnt my first time and I ended up with an infection and having to take the barbell out 5 days later. I wasted my money here. Now i have to wait to heal an then go somewhere else to go get it done! I will not recommend anyone i know to get a piercing here!

Katie is seriously the best. I drive by 2 local places that offer piercing services to go to Orange Park to see her. She treats you as if you have known each other for years and is seriously the sweetest. Its so hard to find someone with great talent and an attitude to match. She is very gentle and walks you through every step of the way even if you are a veteran to getting services. She is worth the drive every single time and I am so glad I found someone I trust 100% with my body!

Went in to Big City Tattoo for my first tattoo on Sunday! The shop is very clean, cool and welcoming.I was excited and nervous but the artist that did my tattoo, Dustin, put any worries I had at ease with his friendly demeanor and awesome sense of humor! This place does great work my husband got a Marceline tattoo from adventure time here from there female artist Riley. She is amazing and the shop is amazing they also had an artist doing a full horror leg they do also do flash tattoos where you get a design from basically a bubblegum machine which I think is cool like a random tattoo design definitely check this place out if you are looking for some tattoo work.

OK, we just went in this evening to see what they were about. Hambone seemed nice and was helpful. This is the 1st time I have been in one and the tat is for my daughter. I have never gotten one because I was always reluctant on how good my artist is. So we have no clue what we are doing. I will update my rating accordingly after Saturday. So far, so good. Im still nervous for my daughter but his 17 years experience, looking at his work on Instagram and reading reviews helped quite the voices a little for now :)UPDATE: Got the tattoo. My daughter loves it. Of course there are some places to touch up but that is l 100% guaranteed and we just come in and get it done.... AFTER it quits itching. I used to come here all the time and get walk in tattoos… a great artist they have there is Kevin and if you book with him it’s good otherwise they have some guy in there doing walk ins that I’m not even sure knows how to tattoo! I went there first for a cloud and some text and he came up with every excuse as to why it was a bad design or he couldn’t figure out how to make it look good… and I went in there a second time today for an autograph tattoo and he again came up with every excuse in the book as to why he couldn’t do it… the marker was already there all he had to do was trace it, I’ve had it done before like that… but yeah 2 separate times he was uncomfortable tattooing so IDK about walk ins at that shop anymore.

The piercer was busy when we walked in by the time he got to me he told me he had to go get high first and walked outside infront of the building and started smoking a blunt. I left due to the piercer being stoned before trying to put a needle in me

Had been trying to get this certain tattoo (a “6” behind my left ear and a “7” behind my right ear) done for awhile but been moving around before I could find a place to get it done. Just moved to the area and stumbled upon this place Friday and was blown away with the service my guy Dustin provided and the work speaks for itself. Like I told Dustin y’all will definitely be seeing more of me because, the price is decent, friendly staff, very chill and real feng shui with the whole establishment. 10/10 would recommend.

I went in for a consultation for a tattoo and the owner was extremely rude! I wanted an all seeing eye with a brick background and the word truth written below it. He kept saying that I was getting a tattoo for the Illuminati and that I wanted a triangle around the eye, which I specifically said I did NOT want a triangle multiple times! He was definitely on a downer and had refused to tattoo “a gang symbol” and told me, “if someone saw that tattoo on my arm one day someone will shoot you in the head.” The all seeing eye has many interpretations and involvement with good and bad things. JUST LOOK IT UP or read the Bible again mark!

I dont know how the tattoos are here . But I went in to get my tongue pierced and had to wait atleast 10 minutes before anyone noticed they had a customer there waiting to be helped. Then I was told it was going to be $55 which is double the price than the other shops in the area (I found out after already getting the piercing) the piercer was in a rush to get it done, didnt care to explain after care (luckily this wasnt my first time getting a oral piercing) but it Is suppost to be told to you how to care for it! Also my tongue piercing isnt straight its slanted and has been infected since getting the piercing . This has never happened to me before because again I know how to care for my piercings . I wouldnt recommend this place atleast not for a tongue piercing.
