I got my first tattoo on Nov 3, 2023. Gumby, the owner is definitely a lively character! I felt totally at ease from the moment I walked in. Gumby was a true professional! Everything I wanted was throughly discussed. The shop was clean and the they practice safe/sterile equipment. We talked about after care. I highly recommend!!

Highly recommend this shop! The owner, Gumby, and everyone else there are extremely welcoming and do fantastic work. One worked with Gumby for a few of my tattoos and he does amazing work, wants and does what’s best for the customer, and is always a pleasure to talk to and work with. I’ve gone there for 4 of my tattoos now and I’ll never go anywhere else.

Great experience. Went in for a walk-in, and Linda was very nice and friendly. Gumby was very nice and worked with us to get our designs exactly what we wanted. Definitely plan on going back for more ink.

Gumby does amazing work. Shop cleanliness is too notch. My wife went in with an idea of what she wanted, and with Gumbys help, she left with a tattoo that was far better than what she had imagined. He combined elements from 3-4 ideas and added some of his own to give her an amazing tattoo.

Went to get a tattoo and it’s ok. The artist was too heavy handed for my soft skin and it was so painful, and he didn’t stop tattooing me when I asked him to take a break. (Consent?) Bc he went too deep most of the lines blew out and looked blurry from the beginning. The snake has 5 fangs instead of 4. A year later it doesn’t look any better. it took him all of 30 minutes to complete my tattoo. Not my favorite tattoo experience lol

LOVE Gumby the artist and Linda who does the scheduling. They are both super nice and great conversationalists. We came here to get a tattoo fixed up from a previous screw up ELSEWHERE...Gumby did a great job and now I can live with my tattoo forever. His shop is very clean and his pricing is very reasonable. We will be back for my birthday to finish up my arm. Thanks guys!!

My mother and I got tattoos of dragonflies together. The shop was very clean and the staff were all very kind. Janell was able to fit us into a last minute opening, she was wonderful. So warm and welcoming, it made my moms 1st time tattoo truly special.Janell was very knowledgeable , personable and a talented artist.Highly recommend her or the shop for your 1st or 50th tattoo. 11/10 will be back.

I got a few tattoos from gumby here and hes awesome! Does great work and after care/ healing is quick and easy. I definitely recommend the inkery! My husband has gotten work done by gumby as well as Chris. Theyve both been great! I will be going back for the rest of my work.

Anyone on here giving less than 5 stars I’m convinced is a total Karen. I’ve been here 3 times (going back in a few weeks as well), after having stuck with an up and down experience with another shop for all other previous work. Everyone in here is so friendly from the folks working the front desk to all of the artists. It’s clean and everyone makes you feel welcome.There’s no reason for me to consider going anywhere else

I’ve been to this shop twice now. The first time I came with my mom and we were both walk-ins. They got us in and out and it was great! They did have us get our tattoos done by an apprentice since we were walk-ins and my tattoos had some issues with blowout and the ink started flaking off during the healing process, even though I followed aftercare procedures closely. These were pretty minor mistakes and it’s what you should expect getting tattooed by someone that’s still learning! I’m very much a perfectionist but I have to remember that tattoos are done by people and people are not perfect.The second time I went in, I wanted to talk to an artist about my idea and get an appointment booked. Chris had a client that didn’t show up for an appointment, so he was able to get me in on the same day. He really understood my idea and worked to make a sketch out of the inspiration I showed him. He did an incredible job and I’m so happy with how it turned out. He worked around the limited time frame I had to get me in and he really made sure I was happy with the design. Best tattoo artist in my opinion love the shop clean atmosphere great jokes during visit fun and friendly place with great art work this place does all my cover ups ask for Gumby hes won at numerous tattoo fest right here in IL 1st & 2nd place and $$ prices are responsible with a great affordable contract thats unbeatable and unbelievable!

This place is amazing! Cora does absolutely amazing work. She took her time to create my design; she is so mindful she moves around when tattooing so you’re not in too much pain in one spot. The price is beyond reasonable. I cannot wait to go back for my next one!

My wife had walk in and was able to get a very solid tattoo. Then I booked an apt for a memorial piece for my grandfather that had recently passed away. Went in for my appointment got the tattoo and was fairly happy with the tattoo. The execution was a little off but i was ok with that. Then after a couple weeks there was some fading and I tried to schedule a touch up session. One date didnt work for me and then they stopped emailing me back not sure why. Now I have to and pay for a while separate tattoo. Not cool 👎

Gumby is a great dude, not only an amazing artist but an awesome character. He turned my half sleeves into reality with ease. I felt at home and witnessed first hand the passion and skill he posses. I will never go to another shop!! I’m not only a huge fan but I also take to heart the experience offered to me @TheInkery. Great atmosphere, clean and the music is to die for. You add in Gumby and it’s a Comedy Central roast from start to finish. Thank you Gumby I look forward to our next adventure!!!

Gumpy was my artist and it was a good time getting to know him a bit and he did a great job on my tattoo

The worst tattoo I have gotten. I got the most basic tattoo, just a year and the lines are all crooked, the artist must’ve went too deep the ink bled and healed that way. Would never go again.

Chris Pollock was my artist who did my tattoo and he did a great job on me. I highly recommend this place.

Nephew who had drawn awesome artwork when younger is now a professional tattoo artist in his own tattoo shop. Very detailed & can make colorful, lifelike tattoos.

I just had a fantastic experience today! I was lucky enough to have Gumby as my tattoo artist, and hes just as much of a perfectionist as I am, which made us a good team! I had a complete idea of what I wanted, but had to put it in print. Gumby spent a lot of time looking for various fonts and images, and we put it together. It honestly came out better than it looked on the stencil. I had a bad experience with another tattoo place nearby that blew me off, and was welcomed here with open arms. You can see how they are do appreciative of their customers as well. I highly recommend.

Came here today just to get an estimate on tattoos I wanted and there was only 1 artist so I explained to her what I would like and she just seemed a bit irritated and she didn’t recommend for me to get one of the tattoos that I wanted because it wouldn’t last but I don’t think that’s true because ive seen many people with the same one I wanted that still looks good. I use to come here when Alyssa worked here but I know she is somewhere else. Honestly didn’t feel that welcomed energy like before and the young lady artist was rude about it what I was telling her I wanted. At the end of the day it’s someone’s body not yours so straying them away because you don’t think it will good isn’t ok. I don’t know if I’ll consider even coming back after talking to her.

Gumby is a phenomenal tattoo artist, shop owner and person in general. His artwork and tattooing ability are well beyond what I could imagine or ask for every time he tattoos me I can sit there without looking or worrying that it will not be right. He is the only person I let tattoo me and if you’re wanting great work by a great artist this is the place to go!

I came into the shop and I was greeted by several friendly employees. After meeting with Gumby about covering up a tattoo and getting the tattoo done correctly, I made an appointment. When Gumby was finished, I was speechless. He is artistically talented and gave me the best two tattoos that I have had. I am grateful and blessed that our paths crossed. I got my 2nd ever tattoo done here by Cora. I had a really basic concept of what I wanted and she basically took it from there with her own creativity and imagination. She couldnt be a nicer person and Im really glad I left a lot of the design up to her because it turned out better than I even hoped for.

My husband and I have been going to gumby for all of our tattoos for about 4 yrs. This place has such a fun environment and everyone is so nice. Super helpful when you mees help designing and have reasonable prices. Gumby is so amazing at his art! He is fun to talk with and i highly recommend him. Chris is awesome to. my husband recently got a tat from him and it was amazing.

Just got a tattoo done here and I will definitely go back! Allen did my work and he captured what I wanted perfectly. He stayed after the shop closed to make sure it wasnt done in a rush too. I love that he talked to me about his life the whole time- it was really nice. The whole staff seemed extremely nice and knowledgeable. Great prices. Overall Im extremely happy with everything I experienced there today and 100% recommend this shop! Ive gotten work done at many different shops and this is among my favorite now.

Today I was tattooed by Gumby!! I want to emphasize just how comfortable and relaxed I was in his shop. This is a great team of professionals to have around. Everyone is so friendly and welcoming. Gumby met with me about a month ago to discuss my tattoo, details, what I truly wanted. The session ran so smoothly. I can’t explain exactly how much I absolutely LOVE my tattoo now!! He really nailed exactly what I was looking for and wanting! I can’t wait to go back soon and complete my piece!! And continue to go back for anymore tattoos I wish to have. Thanks a bunch guys!!

Jimmy is the best apprentice Ive ever had! Super warm, friendly, considerate, and great communication on what you want and your comfort level. His line work is beautiful! Im definitely going back to him. The rest of the team is super fun with great energy as well! I hope to have the privilege of getting all of their ink work on me eventually. 10/10

Great experience. Gumby did my tattoo he did a great job. He made sure i was comfortable the whole time while I was getting my ink done most shops dont care if your comfortable or not. very clean extremely nice and helpful staff. Willing to work within your budget!!!!

I went in for a last minute tattoo and thankfully a client of EJs didnt show and they were able to get me in within the hour. I went through something pretty traumatic and getting both tattoos was a way of helping me deal at the time. He was super professional, really calm and precise and either I have a really high tolerance for pain or he was using a featherlight approach. The conversation was easy and the woman who helped me with my paperwork and checking me in was phenomenal and friendly. I would definitely go back here and see EJ again. (Id actually wanted one of those tattoos for over two years and kept waiting to go here specifically - Im glad I waited and was able to get in on a random week day when theyre usually super booked way in advance).

I was looking for a good tattoo shop in the Oswego area, since I had a bad experience from not doing my homework in the past. I met Gumby, who is super personable, and as I came to find out, an exceptional tattoo artist. I’m so glad I found this place. So far now, I’ve gotten two new pieces and a cover up. People always comment on how good they look. I couldn’t be happier, and I have already scheduled with Gumby for another visit.

I have been getting tattoos for the better part of 15 years and the experience that I had here yesterday was one of the best I have had at any shop across the states.Gumby was able to knock off a full half chest coverup (minus a couple of color add ins) in a very short amount of time.Engaging, funny, and didn’t talk down other artists or even rag on my “terrible” tattoos that he was covering up.Very professional in handling the tattoo and very funny in conversation.I have already scheduled my next appointment a few months out to continue my work.Also, the staff were extremely helpful. The place has a constant stream of walk-ins and appointments which they are more than willing to accommodate.I’ll update my tattoo on here as soon as it is completely finished and healed.

My gf and I both are getting sleeves done by Chris. We are truly happy with the work he is doing and glad we made thr decision to get our tattoos here. Pay is competitive with most other tattoo shops but all my sessions so far have been well worth the price

Emmy experience was superb , EJ was fantastic really detailed , the level of realism on the flowers was incredibleThe amount of time it took to make the tattoo was above average which indicates he really takes care of his clients .(PS he tattoos extremely famous music artists too) is a secret 🤫 🤐

If I could give it more stars, I would. I cant even begin to write how great our experience was from the moment we called the shop for information. MJ was very friendly when answering the call, and was able to transfer us over to Alyssa. What can I say Alyssa was phenomenal at her artistry we have been looking for a tattoo artist by us but unfortunately, had given up hope and started looking for one where we used to live but ultimately she ended up canceling last minute which less us to restart our search. We ran across Alyssas work on Google and fell in love with her work; it was spotless and precise. We were able to do a walk-in, and needless to say, both my husband and I walked out with two beautiful tattoos. Alyssa, thank you so much for taking the time to perfect our tattoos. Cant wait to book our next tattoos with you!

Amazing Artists! This was my fiancé and I first tattoo and I could have not picked a better place for it! Gumby my artist was amazing and my LEGO Darth Vader came out freaking awesome! My fiancé artist Allen was awesome, he let her know all the steps and procedures that will happen during the tattoo. He made it a calming and amazing experience for her. Will get more tattoos here in the future!

Long story short, my husband surprised me with a tattoo and came up with a drawing of what I wanted. He went into the shop to tell Gumby everything I wanted and with all the details. Gumby made it come to life. It was everything I pictured. From the shading, to the colors.. Im very pleased with the whole experience and obsessed with my tattoo. I would definitely recommend Gumby to anyone, he is very professional and cares about his shop and customers!

Ive always had a great experience here. Coming across Gumby has changed alot of things in a good way. Unfortunately I have a handful of scars ranging from my arms to my hands and a few other places and Gumby didnt think twice about helping me and covering them up for me and putting something on my body that i actually want. I have now had 6 cover ups by him and I am more than amazed by them all. Hes helped me through so much just between the amazing art he has gave me that has also gave me a new confidence, I honestly feel like he has worked magic on me, becuse you would never think anything is under my tattoos. Gumby is not only an amazing artist hes also an amazing person!Thank you for everything! And I cant wait to come visit you again!

I dont know how to express how amazing this place and their staff is...... My girlfriend has some extensive scars all along her hands, forearms, upper thighs, and some more that she is very self conscious about. Shes a young pretty girl and these scars have been holding her back and really make her feel bad about herself. After doing some research online, she went in and spoke with gumby. They came up with a beautiful design that covered up almost all of the scars on an entire hand and wrist. The experience could not have been better. Super clean shop, super friendly people, and amazing artwork. After her tattoo was finished and she was cleaning it off, gumby spoke with me and let me know that the shop would be covering every single one of her scars she wanted covered at NO charge. They said they wanted to help her put something on her body that she actually wants there. Its truly amazing to know there are still people out there like that who truly want to help other people. Thank you sooooooo much to Gumby and The Inkery for an amazing experience and for truly changing my girls life. You really have no idea what youve done for her, we cannot thank you enough!And we will both be coming back soon to get more work!

I wish it was mine to show. It is the most unique, fanciful, breath-taking tattoo I have ever seen. The utmost definition of having an artfully blown mind, figuratively speaking. Gumby is an artist beyond compare. Such an eye! With great singers, with great pianists, with great architects, I wonder at the beauty these blessed souls can create, a true artist beyond understanding. This a Gumby. Boss man forgot his Roman numerals, and when I addressed the issue he put all blame on me and threatened me if I wrote this review. Very unprofessional manner. Allan was a great artist and very polite and respectable man, unfortunately the owner had to ruin my views on the inkery.

Ive been here several times now and have been very happy with the work and service each time.The studio is very clean, the artists are kind and listen to what you want and their work is impeccable.Ive been to other places but this place is the best so far and I wont be going anywhere else from now on.
