If I could give more than 5 stars, I would. This shop is by far the best I have ever been to and I don’t see myself going anywhere else. It’s clean, friendly, and the artists work with you to make sure your tattoo comes out better than you anticipated. I’ve gotten a few done here by Derek and he has exceeded my expectations. Got my first tattoo at Frenchtown Tattoo, and it was an awesome experience. Not only did Derek do an amazing job on the tattoo, he also made it a very comfortable and enjoyable experience. Derek completely crushed my tattoo. He took the idea that I had and ran with it to make it better than I could have imagined. Great shop. Super clean. The artists were all very knowledgable. I’ve been to other shops that do walk-ins and the artists always seem stressed out. Not here. They were super into working with us and making sure we got what we wanted, but in a way that would look good and last. Will absolutely be back!

We walked right in and were greeted by everyone. My wife knew what she wanted, I had s few ideas. I ended up picking Nicks drawing of a rose. I can no say enough how friendly everyone is here. The whole process seemed flawless. And let me tell you, this tattoo is awesome. I have 17 tattoos and I am so impressed by how crisp and smooth this rose is. The line work is amazing. I will be schedule another tattoo with Nick in the future. My whole family loves this shop. 3 of us got tattoos last week from 3 different artists with no complaints, and lots of intentions to return.

I went to French town Tattoo Company to ask advice about a tattoo I was thinking about. I spoke with Derek about my idea. He was honest about the pros and cons of what I wanted. He showed me some alternative ideas that I fell in love with. I decided to get it started then and there. While I was waiting for Nick to do the artwork and set up, I looked around the shop. I was amazed how clean and uncluttered it was. The decor was tasteful. Everyone was very nice. I have been in tattoo shops all over the area and in multiple states. This was by far a superior and well kept facility. I had no concerns about getting work done there. I would definitely recommend it. I love my new tattoo and cant wait to build on it.

I’ve been coming here since Ian joined the team. First of all, Ian is AMAZING! He’s patient with me and all my ideas! He’s finished tattoos for me that people abandoned and messed up. So I definitely recommend him 100%!!! And secondly, they have a guest tattoo artist Mary and she is AMAZING too!!! Hopefully she joins the team soon so I can see both of my favorite artists in one place!!! :) The vibe at this shop is very welcoming and awesome!! You should be getting all your tattoos here!!!

My wife and I both had a great experience with Max at Frenchtown Tattoo Company. It was my first tattoo, and while my wife had previous tattoos she hadn’t had great experiences in the past. Max was patient, kind, and thoughtful in talking us through the process. He put a lot of care into getting the design right for each of us and putting us both at ease as he did the tattoo. Also, the overall vibe of the whole shop was great. It was clear people enjoyed working there. I highly recommend Max, and overall recommend Frenchtown Tattoo Company for your next tattoo.

Frenchtown Tattoo Company is outstanding! Go see Derek and staff! Very clean and professional atmosphere, but still laid back to make you feel comfortable as well. I have gotten a majority of my piercings at French Town Tattoo Company, but this was my first time getting a piercing done by Grasshopper. I had my mid-helix pierced on my ear. He was extremely knowledgeable, cleanly, professional, and detailed. The way he described the aftercare process was nothing like any of the other times I’ve gotten piercings. My husband came along with me and he told me afterwards how impressed he was with Grasshopper’s “bedside manner,” his detailed aftercare instructions, and even the ‘why’ behind why you don’t use certain jewelry, soaps, etc. I plan on going back in a couple weeks for another piercing!

I work just down the road from this place and was curious about a very small tattoo that I wanted to get, so I stopped by on my lunch break to ask questions. They were very kind and easy going and I ended up getting the tattoo on the spot and got in and out in less than an hour. Nick was the artist. He was very friendly and helpful. I wasnt asking for anything crazy, but he did exactly what I was wanting and it turned out even better than expected. I would recommend this place to anyone considering getting a tattoo!

I came in a few months ago with a goal to finish my American Trad sleeve, and Derek knocked it out of the ball park. He made my visions work & helped fill out the tough spots on my arm. Just wrapped up the sleeve yesterday after 3 sessions with him, and cannot say enough great things about it. Highly recommend!

Ive been tattooed by Max multiple times now and Im so happy with how each of them has turned out! As well as being a phenomenal artist, Max is dependable, kind and makes the experience fun while also keeping it professional and being very mindful of sterilization. This was genuinely such a great experience! Everyone is friendly, great work environment, and gorgeous pieces are placed everywhere. They also provide water and snacks for guests which is great, especially since it’s hot out. I HIGHLY recommend this place whether you’re a walk-in or you’re looking to do a larger piece. Prices are also very reasonable!

I am absolutely thrilled with my new tattoo! The artist Max Dieter Tattoos captured my vision and brought my idea to life with incredible percision. The studio was clean, and I had great conversation with Max. If you are looking for a new tattoo consider Max Dieter, he will not disapoint.

I came to Max Dieter to have a piece completed that another artist started. He redid the line work in most of the piece and then finished all of the shading. He was easy to work with, organized, and made the session comfortable and fun! Took 3.5 hours for all the work. I have a list of tattoos for him to help me on for future tattoos!

Best tattoo artist I have had. I have several tattoos and his by far are the best ones I have . He is patient , he listens , he gives suggestions, he really brings out what you’re wanting to get. My last tattoo I knew what I wanted but I couldn’t express and he nailed. I will never go anywhere else!

Max did the tattoo exactly as I wanted. It looks great. To me. Even though this work on my chin, and I have some pretty good nerve damage and hyper-sensitivity there, he had a very nice touch and it really didnt hurt much at all.

Very clean shop! The lady that greeted my friend and I was very nice and had us taken care of. The artists are all talented and youre able to view their specific artwork on the website. They have a little area where you can buy jewelry from a small business. The cell service for AT&T wasnt the best, but they had a sign for the WiFi and everything worked just fine! My artist, Max was great!! I took my friend in for a walk in and figured why not? So, I decided to get something ld thought about before. The team asked a lot of questions and wanted to make sure they got it right. Max was quick, efficient, and precise! Ill definitely come back again!

My friend & I stopped in on a spur of the moment last Saturday. They got us right in with Tony. Although my request was a bit odd, Tony rocked it! All of the staff we encountered were extremely friendly! Tony did quick work and both of us were very happy with how our tattoos turned out! Tony and Derek have both done a piece for me and I am 100% satisfied with their professional workmanship. This will be my primary shop in STL and would recommend them to anyone. Reviews were great and place was clean and beautiful but my friend and I went 30 after the opening time and the door was locked. We came back 45 minutes later and the door was unlocked but when we came in we sat for 10 more minutes before we were greeted. The guy who finally came out seemed out of it, on downers or something. I never leave reviews but the whole experience was weird so I thought I would.

I have been going to Derek for a few years now and I could not be happier with the work he does. Derek truly cares about his art and what he puts out there. Every idea I have brought to him, he spends time on creating and making something that not only he loves but that I love too. All the work he has done for me, I get SO many compliments on. Hes very easy going and fun to talk to. There is no one else I would rather have stab my skin for hours on end than him. His pricing is very fair and always has safety/cleanliness in mind. I will say though I have also gotten a tattoo from Devon at his previous shop and he is extremely talented as well. Ive watched a lot of the artists in this shop grow with their art and honestly you cant go wrong with any one of them. Solid group of guys. HIGHLY recommend this shop!

This shop is INCREDIBLE! Derek did a wonderful job of creating an original piece to cover up an old tattoo that I have always wanted to take care of. We scheduled a follow up appointment to add color to the piece and I’m very excited!The shop is decorated so comfortably, they have amenities like coffee, water, even toiletries in the bathroom! Exactly what Frenchtown needed! The shop itself is warm and inviting, always clean. A lot of shops have an air of snobbery when you walk in but not FTC. Everyone is inviting and you can tell they are proud of their art. They encourage and compliment each other’s work and generally give off a solid team vibe. I have seen Derek 5 times and have zero regrets. I chose him because I like his style and approach. I am not an artistic person so having an artist who can take my ideas and sift through the bad to produce the good is important. He takes the time to add extra details even if that means taking the gloves off to add another tiny cup of color just so one or two dots improves the piece. It genuinely shows his commitment to the art and not processing people like cattle customers just to make a buck. I will be back for sure.

I made an appointment to get my first tattoo with Ben. He was extremely professional and polite. His work is impeccable!!! I’ll definitely be going back to get another tattoo in the very near future.

Devon is a great artist. He has great quality work and aside from his work he is very professional and overall great person. He works at a fairly quick pace but will also have great conversations during your session which makes the sessions feel not as long. great dude, clean work and very professional. if I could rate him higher than 5 stars I would.

Their sign says “walk-ins welcome”. Not only were there no walk-ins, but they wouldn’t even allow me to schedule an appointment. I had cash in hand and they turned me away and said to schedule online.

Great new shop, great artists, great people. Clean and professional. Derek and and the other artists really have created an exciting and welcoming atmosphere.

I got a piercing here and my piercing is sinking into my nose and not staying in place and I tried calling to get help aand I tried call multiple times and no answer I even text. You would think to call back once ur not busy but it alright I’ll just get help from another place smh I even tipped 12% never again
