Im sooo glad we found this place, I highly recommend them. Everyone at the front desk were super cool and welcoming. And Im lucky and thankful to Niko for taking good care of my husband and I. We were a random walk in and He did such an awesome job on our matching tattoos. I couldnt be happier. Thank you so much👍🏻👍🏻

I just moved to the area a few months ago, and have already been back to this place twice! I got a helix and a conch piercing from on my first visit, and it was honestly one of the most smooth and efficient piercing experiences Ive had, coming from someone with a lot haha. I just went back to get my eyebrows pierced and they are perfect!! Both times Matt was super great about explaining everything as he was doing it, and making sure everything was placed exactly where I wanted it before doing the piercings. They have a big selection of jewelry to choose from, and overall a great atmosphere. 10/10, I will definitely be back for more!

Went in today to get my nose pierced. Also took my daughter to do the same and her bf got his eyebrow pierced. First of all they were super busy right after we walked in. You wouldnt have known. Everyone that walked through the door was greeted and taken care of quickly! Superb customer service! Everything was explained, listed and checked prior to going back. We had scouted some places closer but we have had to go to traditional to fix other shops ummm mistakes to put it lightly. Matt got us back was super easy and laid back very calming and super quick. Did I really get a piercing?! He was fast, barely felt a thing now I have to make a new fund for more piercings. Damn you Matt but Thank you!! I would highly suggest seeing Matt and I will be sending everyone I know who wants a piercing to him! You guys rock!!Thank you all!!

Wow, what a great space! I went in after getting a botched septum done else where and let meTell you, what a difference! Nicolette did my septum and let me pick the jewelry. She really focused on placement and making sure I was comfortable. The amazing human that greeted me when I came in was so warm and welcoming. Sometimes, shops can be a bit anxiety inducing, but this place was laid back in the best way. What a great experience! I will only be going here from now on.

I came here to get a tattoo from Brennan and enjoyed my experience (and the tattoo) so much that I came back for another one. You know how sometimes you go to get a tattoo and the artist seems uninterested in your design, pressures you to get a bigger size, doesn’t really involve you in the process, etc? This was NOT the case here.Getting tattooed by Brennan is like hanging out with an old friend. He took time to go over my design, try out different sizes, and check in with me through each step. He creates a comfortable and safe environment where you feel empowered to be in control of your own tattoo. Not only that, he’s an amazing artist! I am beyond happy with the work he did and can’t say enough good things about my experience. I will be back!

They are so sweet and so good! ronnie pierced my septum and my boyfriend’s earlobe and put in a smaller nipple ring for me. did an amazing job, was so nice, answered our questions, was respectful and professional. :)

I’m very pleased with my experience getting pierced by Matt Southwood at this shop. He made the process of getting a needle stuck into the bony part of my ear as painless as possible. Everything was very sterile, almost like a doctor’s office. I highly recommend coming here for any piercing, not a place like Claire’s. Even for a young kid it’s so much safer with the method they use. They also helped with removing an earring later. I’m not planning on getting tattooed, but if I ever did I would come here

Nice place. Clean. Friendly staff. I was able to get in as a walk-in which was great. I am pretty happy with the work I got done. It is going to need some color touch up. The artist was really heavy handed compared to other work I have had done. Lots of bleeding and scabbing. The line work is good. It will be worth it once it heals. He got a little fast at the end and that looks a little unfinished. The color touch up will correct that. Given I walked in on the fly and didnt research the artist (always research) it was a good experience.

This is my second time coming here. All of my friends have gotten tattoos here. I had a rib tattoo done last year, and recently went in for a piercing. Such helpful people here! Matteo was great, he talked me through the piercing and made sure I was comfortable. A great experience for my first body piercing. the piercing itself is healing smoothly 10/10. Definitely recommend

Had my nips pierced there and the whole experience was great. They were super responsive on the phone and the entire staff was friendly. Ive been back to have them check em out to make sure everything is healing fine and they are just totally cool about everything. The place is clean and proffesional. Recommend to anyone wanting piercing services.

Great spot. My partner and I have each gotten several tattoos and piercings here. Tattoos are best done via appointment but walk in piercings rarely have a wait longer than 30 or so minutes. Friendly staff, great hygiene and business practices. High recommend.

I arrived 5 minutes early for my appointment and ended up having to wait 20-25 minutes past my appointment time to be seen. The piercer, Matt, did an amazing job and was super cool. The cashier however seemed to scoff at my tip amount which I found pretty unprofessional and off putting. They should handle the scheduling better as well.

I am so grateful to Brennan and Traditional Tattoo for a great time, every time. I got my first tattoo from Brennan, requested him for the next two, and I think I will come to him for the rest of my tattoos for the rest of my life. My designs were so very simple but he took the same care that one would take with a work of complex art. He made sure everything was the way I wanted it and made me feel so safe and comfortable during the experience. 20/10 for professionalism and kindness

I always have a great experience at Traditional. Matt is a superb piercer and very professional. I have needle phobia and he was quick and gentle with my nose piercing. He was always available to answer my questions during the first weeks of healing, and has given me the VIP treatment every time. Niko did my three tattoos, and he was also kind and gentle with this squeamish lady! My tattoos turned out great! Everyone in the shop is very professional, and the shop is clean. I highly recommend!

I got my nipples pierced here when I turned 18 (I am currently 21). Two other friends and I got ours done back to back. Staff was nice. Unfortunately I left with extremely crooked piercings that I have had to look at every day since. My friends both looked fine though, so I don’t know if mine were just a rushed job since I went third. They used proper infection control techniques and everything and it healed without complications…I have seen amazing work come from this place, just my experience was kind of a bummer.

I went here right after turning 18 to get my first tattoo and a nose piercing. They let my boyfriend accompany me through both experiences which was amazing. Niko was brilliant and steady the whole way through on my extremely circular tattoo which has no flaws. Matt was quick, encouraging and thoughtful when doing my piercing. Overall there was not a moment where I felt unsafe or unsure. Thank you so much.

Matt is a great guy, he did my cartlidge piercings and was super professional and very kind! The whole studio was very clean and had lots of options for different piercings and jewelry. I ended up going back to get new jewelry for my existing piercings. I felt very comfortable and I felt like the prices were reasonable. Overall, highly recommend!

I had a tragus and orbital done and it was really simple. The price of $40/piercing was higher than other places Ive been to but, the piercers were really professional and the piercings were almost painless. If you dont want an interesting experience, Id recommend this place.Also, I had an issue with a piercing that I hadnt gotten done at traditional tattoo. However, I called them and they were able to help me within the hour despite them usually requiring appointments.

Really nice people, and very friendly and accommodating. They really seem to know what theyre doing and what theyre talking about. I had to come in for a quick consultation on an ear piercing that was closing up, they were able to see me after a short wait and recommended I set up an appointment that day (wait of 30 minutes or so). I didnt have time, but would gladly go to them if I needed it. I also stopped by another tattoo/piercing place in Atascadero and they said they dont have a piercer but recommended I come to this place because they know what theyre doing. Even their competitors in the next town over recommend them!

Went here for my first tattoo as a freshly new 18 year old, both my boyfriend and my dad were allowed in the room with me which was so nice. Niko did an absolutely amazing job with my tattoo that has no flaws and was beautifully done. So happy with my experience here at Traditional and always recommend others to do business here.

Very satisfied. I went in after having a very bad experience at Bodys & Jewelry when trying to get a new hoop for my nose piercing (they insulted my piercing and nose shape). At Traditional Tattoo, they we very kind and professional and helped me find exactly what hoop and hoop size I was looking for. I am definitely coming back!

Came from out of town to get my tragus pierced with my friend. Matt pierced us and was so easygoing but knowledgeable and professional. I cant recommend this place enough. Prices were really good compared to others and service amazing!

Super nice shop. Went there to buy plugs which Ive had some trouble finding in this area, they had a nice selection including the glass plugs that Ive really enjoyed stretching up with. My mum got her eyebrow pierced as well and the piercer, Matt, was awesome. Knowledgeable, experienced. Definitely the place to go for piercings. Havent had a tattoo here but after seeing some of the art and checking the atmosphere, I want to.

I got my second tattoo here, and everyone I met was incredibly friendly. The atmosphere is great, very neat and clean. Dylan was the artist that did that tattoo, and I am thoroughly impressed with his work. We worked on fine-tuning my idea for the design and he did an outstanding job. The tattoo turned out beautifully and the entire process was a very comfortable experience. He is an extremely skilled artist, and I highly recommend him!

Ive gotten three different piercings here from Matt and have yet to be disappointed. He is very good at what he does. He knows exactly where piercing should be placed to maximize look and functionality. His care instructions are also very helpful and the piercing environment is very sterile. I have never had an issue with scars or infections. I would highly recommend Traditional for any of your piercing needs.

Matt did my tongue piercing and it was a great experience! I get a bit faint with some piercings, and he made sure it was painless and even had me lie down so I wouldnt pass out afterward. Would absolutely recommend for any piercings!

I booked a 3pm appointment 2 weeks in advance. Got a text the day of saying they need to bump it to 4pm because the earlier appointment was taking longer than expected. No problem. Got there at 3:45 to do paperwork. Sat on the couch until 4:55. Told them no hard feelings but I want a refund. Not professional at all. Just my experience.

Always friendly, great service and very patient. The place is professional and clean, non judgemental. Ive only used their piercing guys but both Ron and matt are very talented, and have never caused me an infection. Matt even gave his card and let me contact him when or if I had any questions. Highly recommend.

Best tattoo and piercing shop on the Central Coast. Both of my experiences here have been amazing and my friends who have been feel the same way. Artists are professional, fun to chat with, and respectful. Matt made my piercing experience a breeze, which is saying something because I went in alone and as nervous as can be.

Had an amazing experience here! I texted to make an appointment because the ball of my hoop ear piercing came out and I needed it replaced. They replied to me quick and I made an appointment time later that day. They got me in and out and they didnt even charge me for the replacement ball. Truly grateful! Couldnt ask for a better experience and the staff are super kind and professional. Totally recommend this place!

This place is amazing. I never leave reviews but I just feel so inclined to with Traditional because they have helped me with my cartilage piercing so much. I had it pierced for about 2 years and went in to get a hoop, they helped me replace the jewelry and after a while my ear rejected the hoop. I went back in and they helped me put the stud back in and clean it up for no charge. (This happened 2-3 times). I seriously love this place and their service I will not go anywhere else!!!

I used to love this place and still recommend it to many people . The only thing that has changed is a few of the artist talk negatively about a lot of their clients especially ones who get small tattoos and or walk in . I overheard an artist talk badly about someone who just left the store happy from getting her work done and even complimented the artist work. Some folks can’t afford large intricate designs and isn’t an excuse to talk badly about a good client. ):

Very clean. Reasonably priced. Was able to get pierced right away. Followed all protocol. Good customer service and comfortable atmosphere. Parking was the only thing i can see being a problem. Other than that i would recommend highly for piercings. Cant input on tattoo work, was only there for a body piercing.

This place does excellent tattoos and piercings. I had to give it four stars because of the newest hire for the front desk. The new woman is condescending and rude and unfriendly. I wouldnt recommend keeping her around. I hope traditional sees this.I especially recommend Matt southwood for piercings. Most every artist is very skilled and professional.Once again, consider the impact of a rude front desk assistant, it really will drive off new customers.

Ive been to most of the studios in SLO, this one is by far the best. Im looking for cleanliness, professionalism, price, and jewelry choice. Traditional is leagues above the competition in all of these. The service is friendly, the piercing artists clearly take pride in their work and make you very comfortable. 10/10 recommend

I got my nose pierced and I explained to Matt, the man who did it, that I was super nervous because Im afraid of needles. He was so sweet about it and explained exactly what he was going to do before hand so I felt less nervous. He was super gentle and he definitely knew what he was doing, and he, like everyone else I talked to at Traditional, seemed to really care about the work he did. If I ever want another piercing, Im going here.

Incredibly professional! Ive accompanied a few friends to get piercings and the people there were incredibly friendly and helpful! All the equipment were sterile and very clean. They absolutely knew what they were doing (obviously) and the prices were reasonable.

I will only come here for my piercings from now on. Ive had piercings done in different shops, none of them compare to the piercers at Traditional Tattoo. The process is so smooth, and they make you feel relaxed and at ease. Matt is very helpful when it comes to aftercare.

Traditional Tattoo is the best shop around!! All the staff are friendly, knowledgable and very skilled. Ive been getting art from Brian for awhile; hes super talented, personable, badass and a great guy! The artists have different styles so the shop can get a variety of clients. I called ahead to ask what I needed for my daughter (15yrs old) to get her ears pierced. The lady we talked to on the phone said that it was okay and that all we needed was a photo of her birth certificate or passport and parent. I’m from out of town so I ask a friend go into my house and get a picture of her birth certificate which was a big hassle. We had to remotely open our garage door from here to let her in. Then the garage door had a hassle closing. We got the photo.We went into the shop today and they told me she couldn’t get her ears pierced unless she was 16, even though the lady on the phone said it was okay. We are trying to do the right thing and avoid places like Claire’s. Where babies get their ears pierced. You were recommended to use by my sister in law an niece. Guess word of mouth doesn’t mean muchMike owens

Had a consult with Brian today for an add on/sleeve we’re going to be starting Friday. Couldn’t have asked for a better dude to do the piece. He’s super chill, professional, and has a bunch of solid ideas to add. I noticed that he takes a lot of pride in his work and wants to make sure that everyone is happy and on the same page. Thanks Brian!As for the shop itself, the whole front lobby/waiting area is floor to ceiling windows so it has tons of natural light that floods the place which is rad. Solid walls ruin the vibe at other shops because it makes them dark and dingey. My opinion. But the guy and the young lady (sorry I don’t remember your names) at the front desk couldn’t have been nicer either. Within 10 seconds of my arrival into a crowded lobby, they welcomed me in and helped me right away. When I say crowded there were about 7-8 people ahead of me and I was the only dude, which also made the wait 7-8x more pleasant 🤓In summary, I give everyone over at Tradional Tattoo two 👍👍 up and 5 ⭐️ service.See you guys Friday!!! 🤙

Absolutely outstanding. I cannot rave about this place more, extremely helpful when booking a reservation, and amazing staff. Between my friends and I we gota cartilage, lobe and nipple piercing done and it was painless and quick. It was extremely sanitary and professional. I’m in love with my piercing and Matt gave us his card if any follow up was needed and offered support throughout the healing process. Again this is a must go if you’re near the area.

Great piercings done by Matt Southwood however I made an appointment for 3:45 and didnt get seen until 5:50. I get it, it was a Friday I made the appointment for, however if the shop is backed up with piercings/tattoos PLEASE STOP MAKING MORE APPOINTMENTS IF YOURE NOT GOING TO HONOR THE APPOINTMENT TIME. OR Call the to reschedule some people. Theres better ways to do this instead of making customers wait 2+ hours after their appointment time and still charge full price.

Traditional tattoo was highly recommended by my stylist when I finally decided it was time to get my ears pierced. They were very professional and I was impressed by the steps my piercer took to insure a sterile environment, every bit as clean as having minor procedures at a doctors office.

These guys are great. I got my septum pierced about a month or two ago and my jewelry fell out and was lost. They were able to help me get a new piece of jewelry in within the hour!

Horrible experience from one tattoo artist particularly. this person ruined my tattoo that he was supposed to enhance ,Wouldn’t recommend at all. There are much better Tattoo Artist and shops in the San Luis Obispo county would not waste my money or time.

Dont remember the guy who pierced my belly button was but he was a life saver considering the guy who had pierced it before here in clovis screwed it all up! when i told him my situation he told me how embarrassing it was for all Piercers in general when they get careless. He wasnt afraid to be honest considering I am a chubby girl and explained to me why he was piercing it the way he was! only reason for 4 stars and not 5 is the white guy who usually sits at the counter was in a pissed off mood and was not friendly at all when I walked in.

Everyone was nice and laid back, got my sleeve outline done for my first tattoo by Justin Foss, I HIGHLY recommend him as he made the experience really easy for me and was fast in his work and his quality was above excellent.

My friend went there for s very small tattoo and they told her it would be $ 80:00 when gone he Charged her $100. It hit infected and she knows how to care for tattoos, never ho there dont be that stupid to go there. If you want to get ripped off and infected go there

I lost the ball on the end of my industrial, and thought I’d have to replace the whole thing. They were great and replaced only the part I needed and screwed it on for me :)
