Dermatology Associates

The reception staff needs to be more considerate. This morning, I received an email stating that I had to call to make an appointment. As a non-native English speaker, pronouncing medication names is difficult, and naturally, my explanation of symptoms may not sound as fluent as a native speakers. However, the receptionist sighed in frustration after hearing my symptoms, as if she was annoyed by the conversation, and placed me on hold, only to hang up the phone. I never received a call back. I’m now questioning how this dermatology clinic has a 4.7-star rating. Had I known that the reception, which is the first point of contact for new patients, would be so discriminatory and unaccommodating towards non-native English speakers, I would never have contacted this clinic in the first place.

It took me a while to decide to write this review but I’m doing it so hopefully the receptionist there changes how she treats other people.Unfortunately I’ve been through my share of different Drs because of a certain health condition. In all the different offices I’ve been to I’ve never been treated as badly as I have from this office by one specific girl in the reception area.I have no issue with the Dr I got to see. Dr. Reeves was amazing and kind and everyone else I saw except Theresa. I recently went in to try and see Dr Reeves and I was treated so badly by Theresa regarding an insurance referral. left without seeing the Dr. I just needed it explained to me in a nice way but instead, Theresa treated me like I was supposed to know it while rolling her eyes at me several times with a bad attitude.It’s already difficult going through a health crisis without someone treating you bad to make you feel so much worse. If anything I hope she changes the way she treats others and kindly explains things instead of treating people like their idiots for not knowing.

I’m rating this a five star because I never had any issues, my son and I been coming here for the past two years. Everyone is friendly, you don’t have a long wait time. The doctor actually listens to you and takes very good care of you.

I have been under Dr Collins care for over 8 years. Whenever I have a suspicious skin spot or mole, I can arrange an appointment in a short time and have it diagnosed and treated if need be. He is always very caring and the staff is courteous. I would recommend his practice to anyone.

From first contact, this was a great experience. It was easy to make an appointment within 2 weeks time. There was less than 10 minutes wait time. The staff were caring and friendly. The office is immaculate and pleasing. Dr. Collins was friendly, caring, and knowledgeable. Ill be using this office from now on. It was such a pleasure!

The office is always very clean and the staff courteous. I have never waited an inordinate amount of time. Michelle (the PA) is very friendly and efficient and I highly recommend her. If she thinks you should see Dr. Collins she does not hesitate to get you through.

This is a great practice. Everyone is friendly, there are minimal wait times to be seen, and questions are answered in understandable phrasing. Dr. Collins always made me feel comfortable, and took the necessary time to explain the reasons for his diagnosis and actions he felt necessary for the condition. Unfortunately, I moved out of the area because I was very comfortable with this practice.

I am absolutely happy with my experience. From the front staff, the nurse to the Dr. everyone was friendly and professional. Our Dr. was thorough, inquisitive, very knowledgeable. She took her time with us and worked well with my two year old daughter. The nurse was wonderful!! I will only come here and highly recommend this office.

My entire family has seen Dr Collins and his staff for the last 12 years. Im in the medical field and there is no one that I would trust my familys dermatological care with beyond Dr. Collins and his staff. I am pleased with this practice. The waiting area is clean, spacious, and offers free coffee and access to current magazines. The reception staff are friendly. The nurse and techs are thorough (I was there for a skin cancer check, which I recommend to all Baby Boomers who tried to be Coppertone Kids). The doctor is friendly and skilled at giving medical advice. Appointments are easy to make.

Dr. Howington and her staff are fantastic! The facility is very nice and spacious and the front desk staff is helpful and very friendly. Incredibly disappointed with how unorganized this practice is. I was hoping that with such good reviews, I would be treated better than I was. Boy was I wrong. I went to their website which is just a bare-bones web page to try to see appointment times and make an appointment. The only thing that I could find was an email address that doesnt exist anymore and a phone number. Okay, so I called them to schedule an appointment. The day before my appointment, I get a call saying that the doctor will not be there during my appointment time and they asked if I could reschedule. Um okay, a little short notice, but thats fine. They gave me a list of inconvenient appointment times for the next week to choose from and I chose the least inconvenient one hoping I could get away from work to go. Sure enough, I cant get away from work that day, so I call to reschedule. After I rescheduled, I got another call informing me that they are refusing to give me an appointment since its already been rescheduled twice. They told me to look elsewhere for a dermatologist because they were refusing to see me even though theyre the ones that rescheduled on me. Im without words that yall would turn away a patient at your own fault. Ive decided to take your advice and look for another dermatology office that actually has a clue, and Ill be letting people know how ridiculously you treat new patients.

In 1980 I underwent surgery to remove a melanoma. After I moved to Savannah, Dr. Lewis Collins (Dermatology Associates) was recommended to me. For over 10 years Dr. Collins and Staff have provided excellent care and very efficient service. Even though I have moved away from Savannah, I continue as a patient. Its worth the drive because I believe in Dr. Collins.

This office is awesome family have all been seen by Dr Collins and we have been extremely pleased. At least always see the MD. Thanks for seeing my daughter Jennifer yesterday and treating her so well.

I have recently referred my parents to this practice and changed my daughter from another Savannah dermatologist to Dermatology Associates. The office makes scheduling easy and the wait time for appointments is reasonable. The doctors provide thorough examinations and follow-up to assure their prescribed treatment is effective. This dermatologist and his staff are all first-rate professionals who truly know what they are doing. While they have the technology to be cutting edge, they arent afraid to use common sense and proven techniques. Dr. Collins is the best Ive ever known in this field.

Extremely disappointed with this practice. I had to wait almost two months to be told I had cancer, despite several calls following up. You would think a patient having cancer would press the practice to notify them sooner.When I was notified, the nurse did so by phone, which I felt was a bit impersonal considering the magnitude of the diagnosis and my age. I was understandably in deep shock, and the nurse did not seem to empathize.To add to my displeasure, I started receiving bills from this practice before they gave me my diagnosis.I have since moved out of town and received better, more expeditious care. I can only hope Dermatology Associates acts with much more urgency towards future patients. It could help save someones life.

Eye contact and listening skills are always a huge factor when choosing a physician. Dermatology Associates in no way made me feel like I needed to rush through my questions or concerns. Very attentive and very thorough.

Walking into this building is like entering a spa. It is beautifully designed, which is fitting for the feeling you get with the entire experience. I have struggled with acne since I was a preteen. Nothing worked, and not being able to get my skin under control was depressing. It kept me from social events, as well as online business opportunities. Being 40 with acne was embarrassing, and I wanted to hide from the world. Now I wake up without worrying about what my face will look like. After 30 years of this fight, I am glad to say that Dermatology Associates has helped me look and feel like a winner!

The 3rd party appointment booking service (which is required) is not upfront and honest, they are simply incentivized to hook you into an appointment which will only lead to an in-person “sales pitch” at a small office by an associate (not an actual service provider). For me, this was was very frustrating and a complete waste of time. I would avoid this place, there are much better local options!

Dr. Collins literally saved my life. I had several spots on my body that had grown into skin cancer and had to be surgically removed. If I had let them go any longer and he hadnt done the biopsies, I hate to think what would have happened. He has made me aware of the continuing vigilance I must have with my skin. Visited this office last year, was extremely disappointed. I was searching for a new dermatologist and called to make a appointment. And this is the office I went to. After the office staff informed me that the doctor actually never saw me last time, it was a PA. I went in to have a skin screening, which took less then a minute for the full body. I do not recommend this office and careful choosing a Doctor period in this town. I have wasted a lot of money for no results. When I return to Virginia I see my old doctors, they are amazed at how nothing is ever found when its clearly right in their face. Best bet is to go to SC or Florida.

I had rosacea my whole life without even realizing it or being diagnosed. Ance and my condition are different and Dr. Collins knew what it was right away. He got me on the proper treatment plan as my face was flaring up in my 30s! He completely changed my life!

Based on all the positive reviews, I expected a better experience. This doctor showed little care for my condition. Didnt even offer to redress my wound after taking off the gauze pad. Really disappointed.

Called yesterday to verify that they would be open, as some other businesses were closing due to the weather, and was assured that they would be open. Arrived to my appointment this morning after a 45 minute drive, and they are closed. Guess calling their patients to let them know they will be closed, after informing them they would be open, is just too much of a hassle for them.

Dermatology Associates are the best. I drive from Savannah to Macon just to take my son to his appointments. He has a severe case of A-Topic Dermatitis (Eczema). The Drs, Nurses and Staff were very kind and caring. The treatment that was prescribed showed positive results almost immediately. I highly recommend this practice for your skin care needs.

Michelle reeves couldnt tell me what was on my finger and then sent a sample out for biopsy without telling me it would be $145 after she told me she was sure it wasnt cancerous. Guess its there way of making money. Not to mention she didnt really seem to know what she was talking about. Id look for a different place quite honestly!

Unknowingly I saw a dermatologist PA! Michele Reeves prescribed a drug for a fingernail fungus that would cost $18,000 a year! What a waste of time. No wonder her name was not on the door, when I asked they told me it was because of repainting, not that she was not a doctor. She acted like a doctor in that she didnt apologize for keeping me waiting for an hour.
