Alex is the best! Her work is top tier. I’ve been tattooed by her three times now, and will definitely be going back for more. Both experiences were absolutely amazing. Each of my fine line tattoos have healed super quickly and still look great! If you are looking for a tattoo artist in the Somerset area I would 10/10 recommend Alex! :)

I love my new tattoo! Alex is the best. I was there for a few hours because of the size of my tattoo and the conversations never ended. It was like catching up with an old friend. I got my first tattoo by Alex when I was 16. She explained everything, made sure i understood the after care of the tattoo, and during the whole appointment made sure that I was comfortable and happy. I was extremely happy with getting my tattoo done by Alex! She is super nice and makes you feel comfortable. I knew I wanted a female artist to do my sternum piece due to being slightly insecure, shy, and awkward. She made me feel like we have been friends forever and didn’t have to worry about anything. I absolutely love my sea turtle tat! Alex is a fantastic artist with the most down-to-earth personality. She took her time, but stopped for a couple minutes to let me stretch. Im 67 years old so I needed a break😛. She listened to what I wanted and it turned out just the way I had pictured it. I might have to get another one sometime in the near future. Shes opening a new studio in the fall, so Im looking forward to seeing her new endeavor. If youre thinking of getting a tattoo, give it a go with Artful Alex!

I have recently gotten two new tattoos from Alex, and she revived a tattoo I had gotten elsewhere and wasn’t entirely pleased with. Her attention to detail is astounding. I had gone to a different shop before and got a really terrible vibe- thats when I messaged Alex and she was so encouraging and welcoming about it being my first tattoo. The shop is absolutely stunning and clean- the whole vibe is so nice and comforting, not to mention she played music I absolutely loved the whole time. She truly made sure that the tattoo was exactly what I was looking for and allowed me to make any input I needed. Attended Alex’s “get what you get” Halloween event with my sister and had a wonderful time! We both agreed that this was the most comfortable setting and artist that we’ve ever gone to. I’m from North Carolina, and while traveling to take some relatives back to Pennsylvania, I made an appointment to get my first tattoo done by Alex! She is incredible. She made me feel so comfortable and calm while in her shop, and was so friendly and patient (especially with a nervous first-timer) ☺️ She was great to converse with when tattooing, and she takes her time and has so much precision in the lining, and the shading. I wouldn’t trust anyone else with my tattoos but her! She gave great advice for first tattoos and gave me an aftercare sheet with tons of tips and steps to take, which is very appreciated by someone with no experience with tattoos! She is very inexpensive but reasonable, definitely cheaper than most but with better work! 🥰 Alex’s shop was beautiful, it’s well put together and has an amazing style, everything was clean and extra sanitary, her working area is strictly just for her tattoo equipment and she keeps it thoroughly sanitized. I love my first tattoo and I’m already thinking to schedule another appointment with her for my next trip to PA! Got a gorgeous tattoo from Alex when she was working a Halloween event where she was doing Halloween tattoos. I talked to her about my interest in being a tattoo artist and she was straight up about what I should do and gave great advice. She made sure I liked the ink color before tattooing which I appreciated. She was so easy to talk to and such a kind person. She shared stories with me and my mother, who accompanied, while tattooing me. From the start she was sanitary and professional, through and through. She also used numbing product which helped tremendously. She also mentioned that if I was to come in for another tattoo and wanted this one retouched she would do it for free. I was a first timer when it came to getting a tattoo, so it took me a long time to find the right artist. And I am so happy I cam across Alex and her page! She was super communicative and very helpful through every step of the process and answered all of my questions. The atmosphere wasnt intimidating and I felt comfortable as soon as I walked in the door. She gave me the tattoo of my dreams and I could not have been happier with my first experience and I will absolutely be back for more work in the future!!

I recently just got my first and second tattoo done by Alex, all with in the span on two weeks lol. Simply because she made the first experience so great, it was so easy for me to schedule a second one that day! Alex is so personable and cares about the quality of her tattoos more than anything, and she’s very honest and clear about that which I appreciate! Her work area is comfortable and clean, she eases you through the process and lets you know what’s going on step by step and for someone like me, it goes a LONGGG way! I love her work and style, she is definitely my go to artist !

Alex has been my artist for many years. After my local guy retired, I needed someone. On a suggestion from a friend, I went to her (prior) shop & was absolutely blown away by her art & her personality! I now drive 45mins to get to her, because nobody else is doing my ink! Ive been coming to Alex for a few years now, and I plan to always come to her for my tattoos. She is extremely professional, very mature, precise, and is an absolute delight to be tattooed by. I feel comforted in her shop, as she talks through what all she does/will do. Shes extremely passionate about her work, and shows beautiful pride in all she does. She has been working from the ground up for as long as Ive known her, and even longer before that. She IS the person to come to for your tattoos! I cant wait to see where the future takes her and her shop.

I told Alex that I would write a review months ago, well life happens haha. Anyways! Alex was extremely professional and made sure that I got the size and placement of the tattoos that I wanted (I got 2 small words in different places). She made sure that the sizing, the font, the placement was correct before she even started! I know that I made her move the placement for one of the tattoos that I got a couple of times (because I’m indecisive). She was very professional, calm, and did my tattoos in a timely manner (the clients before me came late, which made my appointment a bit later than expected—I was late for a funeral). She also explained the aftercare for the tattoos perfectly (i have gotten tattoos before) If you are looking for a place to go for your 1st, 10th, 100th tattoo, I highly recommend Alex.

By far best place to go!! i’ve been to several tattoo shops and Alex will definitely be my last, and forever my go to! she’s easy to talk to, has great environment and does amazing work!

Alex gives you 110% of her attention during your appointment. Clean, relaxing atmosphere. Very reasonably priced. Shes done my last 2 tattoos and I couldnt be happier with how they turned out!

I’m extremely grateful I found someone I can trust to bring together my ideas of the art that I want to represent me on my body. She makes me feel welcome and we chat away the whole time she is tatting me. She covered up a scar on my back today (don’t have a pic of it yet) that I’ve wanted covered for years but never trusted anyone enough to do it and gave me this badass Stranger Things piece. I can’t thank you enough, Alex!! 10/10 would highly recommend and will be going back next weekend for her Halloween events!! ♥️

Alex did a very important tattoo for me this morning. I lost my little boy 3 weeks ago, and she was kind enough to reach out and offer to do a memorial tattoo in honor of him. She even took $50 off because thats the type of person she is! Also offered to mix the ashes in with the ink. I will definitely be returning for more 💗❤️

I decided this morning that I’d reach out to Alex to see if she had any same day openings. She responded quickly and lucky for me she said that she could get me in. I’ve been wanting this tattoo for over a month. She designed it exactly how I wanted it and it looks absolutely flawless. She made me feel so comfortable during my whole appointment. I’ll never go anywhere else to get inked ever again!

Alex is an amazing artist with a super chill attitude. Being in her chair was so comfortable and the outcome was absolutely beautiful. Definitely my new favorite tattoo! Can’t wait to go back for round two!

Alex is amazing! I live in Virginia and wanted to get a tattoo with my sister and mom while I was home for a few days for Christmas and Alex was able to make that happen for us. The tattoo we got is so beautifully crafted. I would definitely travel all the way home just for her to tattoo me!

I just got my third tattoo done there tonight and it was 4 hours of awesome. I came to her because her work area is so so clean and she does everything right in front of you. When you look around you see all of her original artwork and a feeling came over me that my piece was going to be like nobody else’s. She has every certification the field can provide and she is the only trained, certified, and published tattoo artist in Somerset County. I recently saw her FIFTH publishing in Somerset County magazine. I love love love her and her work. I really would not trust anybody else to touch my body with a tattoo gun. One of the first things she told me when I went in for my first tattoo was “quality always comes first” and she sticks by it. She works with budget and it’s small price for something that will look good (and last) forever!! Highly highly recommend.

I first met Alex 5 years ago during a Halloween flash she was doing that’s when I got my Friday the 13th tattoo by her. I grew such a bond with Alex through out the years 11 tattoos and not done Her work is phenomenal she’s by far the best her personality her shop the experience you get while you are there she doesn’t treat you like you’re another “ client “ she treats you as family.

One star for a nice shop and one for yes, she tattoos. last summer, I left thinking I was happy with my tattoo until I could see it in pictures (it is on the back of my calf). It is not straight and bad shading. My friend went with me and he wanted a similar tattoo, but very different. She gave us both the same tattoo. :-( He messaged Alex, but she never responded. I was charged 150.00 for a 75.00 tattoo and had to listen to her complain about her job almost the whole time. When she wasnt complaining about her job, she bragged about how great of a tattoo artist she was and how she cant get anyone to work in her shop because no one is as good as her. Hahaha. I have almost my whole body covered in tattoos. Been getting tattoos for 37 years and never sat in a shop so unprofessional and listening to the artist talk bad of other artists. She is mediocre at best. This has been bothering me for so long, so I decided to leave my honest, unsatisfied review. There are so many other great artists in the area and I am fortunate to have found one that will also recommend other tattoo artists based on what someone may want. That is what I like. I go to my new artist and we talk and laugh and NEVER discuss other artists except for Alex because my new artist had to fix her mistakes.This is not a fake review as stated below. I’m currently at a tattoo shop where a girl got a tattoo from Alex and she hated her experience. The tattoo she got does not look anything like she wanted and it looks horrible. She is currently getting it fixed and it looks so much nicer.
