I recently got my helix pierced here, my piercer was Sarah. She is so sweet throughout my whole appointment. She gave me a very thorough consultation and told me everything I needed to know on how to take care of my piercing. I would definitely recommend her! She’s very patient and takes her time on making you feel as comfortable as possible. I would definitely go back to her! Overall, the place is really clean. Everyone is really kind and welcoming.

My daughters and I got our ears pierced last night and it was such a wonderful experience. Their customer service is absolutely top notch from the check in, to the jewelry selection, to the actual procedure. The space is spotless clean with fun decor and beautiful displays. The earing selection is huge with so many gorgeous options. The piercing technicians (Sarah and Pete) were SO good with my daughters. Nothing about it was scary. Pete even played us his favorite Taylor Swift (Post Malone) song. Sarah was so patient and kind with my youngest and explained everything every step of the way. Old Traditions is the real deal for properly done piercings. I will recommend them to anyone. Thanks Sarah, Pete, and Haley!

We had such a pleasurable experience getting my nine yo daughters ears pierced. Haley warmly welcomed us when we came through the door and was patient while I had to call home to obtain a picture of my daughter’s birth certificate (which they told me when I booked but I forgot). Sarah, our piercer, could not have been kinder or more thorough. She spoke directly to my daughter, engaging her in small talk as she could see she was nervous. She walked her through every single step before starting and then every single step as they happened. She told her very clearly that if at any time she felt uncomfortable, they could stop, no questions asked. My daughter opted to have both ears done at the same time so Sarah called in Salem who was equally as kind. They both gave my daughter huge kudos at the end and made her feel so special. A++

I literally can’t recommend Old Traditions enough! I had an appointment to begin added piercings to my ears (I only had lobes)The person who checked me in understood what I wanted more than I even did and showed me what our combined idea would look like on a silicone ear so that I could see it come together. All nerves were calmed knowing that someone else took the little idea I had and ran with it in a way that matched what I was hoping for perfectly!My piercer, Bryan, was excellent! At no point did I feel rushed or uncomfortable, and he kept me informed every step of the way. I left with confidence of knowing that my piercings were done in a sanitary and comforting way, I have the knowledge I need to take care of them, and I can’t wait to keep adding more. I was referred to Old Traditions from a friend and they are by far the best piercing shop I’ve ever been to. I first met with Haley who helped me curate my ear. Then with Pete who was super knowledgeable and chill. The shop is not just clean - “it’s Monica clean” (iykyk). I received great detailed instructions in writing via their brochure for aftercare. I did 3 cartilage piercings on one ear in one sitting and Pete was great with giving me time to relax between each one. It gets busy so make sure to make an appointment for the best service.

Gotta give credit where credit is due. This place was so amazing. Professional, kind, sooooo welcoming. The woman up front was so helpful picking out jewelry with me and giving me great insight. Bryan was so outstanding with giving the piercings. He was very precise, honest and made sure I agreed with the placement. Made the piercings on my ears symmetrical. No issues. He was so personable, kind and made the process smooth and easy going. I will forever go to this place and highly recommend. Very clean too which is great to see. They are honest with their pricing, they truly care about what they are doing. And once again Bryan was amazing beyond words could explain. The best!!!! Grateful for their service.

You wont be disappointed if you choose Old Traditions.All of the staff are incredibly kind and patient, and take their time explaining the process for piercings, even taking the extra care to show you the sterilization process for the equipment and making sure your piercings are positioned well.The environment is very calm, clean, and pretty.I have gotten several piercings done by Pete, and my friend got one done by Em. Both are amazing people, and super fun to talk to. Em took an extra 10 minutes to help calm my friends nerves, and gave tips to calm her and help the process.Pete is very sweet and funny, and even remembered me after a whole year, which made me feel special :)I believe every piercer is APP certified, they are extremely knowledgeable and answer every question thoroughly and make sure you understand their answers, and I have seen them take great care of children getting their lobes pierced, they always come out smiling!I could not have asked for a better experience for my first few piercings, and will always highly recommend Old Traditions to anyone looking to put some holes in their body ;)

I just wanted to say, this place is absolutely amazing. They are super friendly and very helpful. I recently had an medical emergency that required me to remove all of my piercings, I stopped in to have them put back in, they were so attentive to my needs and always asked if I needed any help, including, not only cleaning and sterilizing my jewelry to put back in. Salem was honest and told me not all could be placed back in, she explained this and advised to wait instead of causing trauma to those spots with putting the jewelry back in.So if you want to feel like you’re apart of their family then I highly recommend them. I’ve also taken my daughter, a friend and mom all there for piercings and they are amazing at explaining and making sure that you are comfortable before anything begins.

Amazing service and experience! Sarah pierced my lobes and was very kind and thoughtful! Very clean environment during the entire appointment, from walking in the door and until I left. All of the staff is extremely friendly. I will definitely be going back and recommending to everyone!

This place is THE BEST. From the moment I walked in, just amazing vibes. The staff there? Hilarious! Not only were they super knowledgeable and skilled, but they had me cracking up the whole time. The piercer I worked with, Peter, was not only talented but also super thoughtful. They walked me through everything step-by-step, making sure I was cool with it all, which made everything a lot less scary. Additionally, their studio was spotless, and they had all this cool sterilization stuff going on. I felt totally safe and confident in their skills. Top tier piercing studio and jewelry shop. A true suburban hidden gem! The space is delightfully laid out with plenty of space to not feel cramped when it gets busy. There is accessible access and adequate space for chair users.The staff: super friendly, courteous, and fun.I love that they will ask consent to touch you, absolutely massive green flag! Everyone seems very knowledgeable and has that lovely casual professional vibe. (A ton of APP certs to show it!) They will ask what your goal is and then go through any possible options to get there, as well as offering advice about aesthetics and jewelry curation. LGBTQ+ affirming!Prices are ridiculously affordable in my opinion. I paid twice as much for piercings while living in Texas and the quality and level of service was never anywhere near to Old Traditions standards. I got some new lobe piercings and I was very satisfied, so I brought someone else in to do a nipple piercing the next day! And Ill be back again later this week 😅Thank you all! Especially Pete and Salem!

The absolute best piercing place I have gone to. I got my helix pierced there and they talked me through every step and gave me all the knowledge I needed for the aftercare. The jewelry there is top notch and it’s the only place my ear never has a negative reaction too. Everyone there is super friendly and knowledgeable and I have complete trust in all of them.

My 9 year old daughter had her ears pierced this week by Pete and Emily. They were amazing! So thorough and comforting to her. Her best friend and cousin also got them pierced and we all had an overall wonderful experience. Especially for our anxious girls! You will never experience another piercing shop like this. Old traditions is truly fantastic in every which way. I have been here multiple times and I leave every time smiling. The second you walk in it’s a beautiful clean shop, the customer service is amazing, extremely nice and personable, the quality of the jewelry is amazing, the piercers are friendly, personable, keep you extremely comfortable & explain step by step what they are doing. They always keep a conversation with me to distract me from the “pain” of the piercing, which I love. I seriously recommend this shop to everyone who asks, no doubt about it.

Very responsive, great hours, and friendly, professional staff. Very clean environment and extremely sterile practices. The piercer, Pete, gave my nervous young daughters a lot of great education on after care and step by step information while he was piercing their ears. 10/10 would recommend!

Salem did 3 lobe and 1 helix piercing on me the other week and it was great! She helped me pick out jewelry and talked me through the entire piercing process. Cant say enough good things about this place. I had a surface tragus piercing done yesterday. The shop is very clean, and welcoming. Im sorry I didnt catch the girl at the desks name, but she was so sweet and friendly and just a pleasure to work with to pick out my jewelry. Pete did the piercing and he was amazing. One of my daughter’s ear piercings closed up. I took her here because as I told her, “This is what these people do for a living”. So she was very nervous and the piercers realized that. They did a great job of calming her. When she got on the table the got a taper to check her other ear, which the hole was there and they checked the other ear. Turns out the hole was still there! They didn’t charge us for the session. We bought a new set of earrings, the place was clean, bright and nice. Told my daughter we’d come back for more ear rings. Definitely check the place out if you were on the fence.

Me and my mom got our noses pierced by Lia, they were SO kind and took their time and did an amazing job (and they also had awesome tattoos!!). the building and the people who worked there were so welcoming and it was so cozy in there, i highly recommend to anyone especially people getting pierced for the first time❤️ i love my piercing thanks again lia

An amazing experience!! The ear curation was SUPER helpful. They provided options showing them on an ear, so you get exactly what you want. The piercing was great as well - he walked me through what he was doing and provided great recommendations on care for the ears and future piercing options. I got my tragus pierced here and it was a great experience! The shop is very clean, aesthetically pleasing, and the staff is so so sweet! Chux was my piercer and he was amazing. I got my first piercing done by Chux 13 years ago and been following his work ever since. My daughter wanted to get her ears pierced and today Emily did such a fantastic job. She made my daughter feel comfortable and talked her through every step. They have beautiful jewelry, are beyond professional, and super clean.

I have anxiety and was VERY anxious coming in, as it was also my first (chosen) piercing. But the whole experience was as gentle, caring, and friendly as I had hoped. I had a guest piercer, Matias (I believe that’s the spelling) of Cubic Piercing in Argentina. I’m very happy to have him be my first chosen piercing, he has 28 years of experience! I also talked to Sarah at the desk who was so lovely and helpful. Overall an amazing experience. I’m happy for my eyebrow piercing!

I had a really great experience getting a few piercings here! The staff are all so kind and knowledgeable about their craft and the work that they do. I got pierced by Salem and Pete on two different occasions and I had a pleasant experience with them! (2 Helix, 3 Lobes) Both piercers are detail-oriented and can pick up a conversation pretty easily. I highly recommend this place as well as these piercers.

I was in on the late evening of March 12th to get my helix and nose pierced. I had an amazing experience! Im always a little nervous when I go into piercing or tattoo parlors but everyone was so welcoming. Kay (I hope that was her name!) was the first person I spoke with after arriving and she was soo personable and friendly and really made me feel at ease. I was pierced by Sarah who was equally amazing. Very sweet and friendly. And of course, Chux is always awesome. I want to say I got my original helix and nose piercings done by him many years ago when he was back at Topnotch. I am looking forward to getting several more piercings from these guys!!

Took our 3 year old to get her consultation and ear piercing. Needless to say this place is AMAZING from the minute you walk into the door to the actual piercing. Sarah did fantastic with my daughter! She was so sweet and gentle and took her time. I even got my ears pierced to match my daughter once she was done. Sarah IS amazing! As soon as I walked into the shop, she immediately greeted me. She informed me that she was an apprentice and that she wouldnt get offended if i wanted the other piercer. I felt very good and positive vibes from her so I went with it and I could not be happier! I went it for a nose piercing, and she was super patient with my indecisiveness. Sarah is also very knowledgeable about the jewelry and the entire process. She walked me through everything and made me feel comfortable when I started getting nervous. I am DEFINITELY coming back for more piercings.

Revised!!!!We had a wonderful experience after the initial communication issue with identification for my daughter for her first ear piercings. Everyone was very friendly and inviting. Em, the manager, not only pierced my daughter herself but also gave a very kind reduction in the costs to make up for it. My daughter felt very special and comfortable despite her nerves. We ended up having to go back today to have one of the earrings replaced because it fell out during sleep. Pete was so kind and sweet with my daughter. He was gentle and explained everything again, calming her nerves. Thank you for being so professional and proficient at your craft. A wonderful experience the 2nd & third time around!!!

Em was absolutely amazing from the second we walked in the door. My child really wanted their ear pierced but has very bad anxiety. Em was unbelievably helpful with any questions or concerns that we had. There were no secrets or surprises, and every step of the process was explained in detail. I had my right ear pierced for the first time, ever, here (double forward helix) and it was a great experience. Salem was my piercer. She made me, a total newbie, really comfortable and clearly had killer knowledge, skills, and artisty that resulted in a piercing I couldnt be happier with. I got my left nostril pierced on 01/14 and I had a wonderful experience! Em was my piercer and they were super kind and informative through the entire appointment. I got my tongue pierced here yesterday and why a day of events… my piercer was a guest piercer from Argentina who made me feel so comfortable and kept making me laugh. He was seriously amazing. The girls at the front desk were super sweet and helpful as well! However to no fault of the piercer (I didn’t eat before) I ended up fainting while checking out. When I woke up I had three members of the staff rubbing my head, lifting my feet up for blood flow, and getting me water. I was super embarrassed because there were a lot of people who saw me go down, but the staff kept reassuring me that I was okay. One of the girls even sat with me for a few minutes just to make sure I was okay and held my hand. My piercer even told me I fell because I did so good in the room🥹 it’ll definitely be a day I want to forget, but seriously if this doesn’t convince you to come here I don’t know what will!

Everyone here is amazing! Every time I’ve gone in it has been the best experience. Sarah and Kay are the best and so helpful when picking out jewelry and placement! Sarah is amazing at everything she does here and I will definitely keep coming back for more piercings with her now!

I have interacted with Pete and Sarah and they both made sure I left happy and comfortable. Sarah was incredibly patient while sizing and replacing my jewelry to retainers. She made sure I was comfortable and explained the retainers for me so I know how to replace them later. Pete has done a few of my piercings and always does a geat job! Hes very funny, yet personable and knowledgable about piercings and always makes sure your comfortable.All in all everyone here is nice and makes sure your happy when you leave. They are more than happy to make something work if you don’t have the correct anatomy for a certain piercing and they have many options for jewelry in store. I really really like coming here! (:

What a great place, great atmosphere and awesome people. Everyone was very knowledgeable and helpful. My kiddo and I both got piercings, they got there ears done and I my septum. We were pierced by guest piercers and they were amazing. Just fyi you are going to spend more than at a Claires, you are paying for expert piercers, in a pristine environment with jewelry that will last a lifetime. A piercing is an investment in your body and just like with anything else, you get what you pay for and here its excellence.

Ive had a few piercings done at Old Traditions and each time, all staff have been incredibly friendly and knowledgeable, taking their time to explain everything and make sure my jewelry selection is exactly what Im looking for, and that Im comfortable during the piercing itself. All of my piercings have been done by Chux and hes fantastic at making sure placement is perfect, but I have spoken with the other piercers and have no doubt they are excellent as well. The shop also has incredible jewelry, including the items they bring in and the items made in-house. Whether youre looking for a place to get your childs first ear piercing or an adult looking for more advanced body piercings, Old Traditions is the best place in the Elgin/SE area by far!

Pete was awesome with my niece. She was getting her ears pierced for the first time and he was patient and kind and explained everything to her and made her feel comfortable. Kay was super helpful picking out jewelry too. I’ve been recommending old traditions to all my friends for years. They have helped me with piercings, jewelry changes etc. Everyone that works there have always been very knowledgeable and helpful.

I found this piercing studio while looking for an app certified one near my house( granted its still an hour away) I followed their page and their piercers and came across Sarah’s ig she was advertising free piercings so I decided to go ahead and book. Well I looooved the whole experience Kay at the front is great giving recommendations on styling and Sarah even though she is still an apprentice is great at what she does, she did my conch and I am in love. Well today was my second visit and I am so happy I found them they are very knowledgeable and very friendly and helpful. I just got my tragus done by Sarah today and already planning my next visit!! Chux and his employees have always been welcoming - as friendly as they are professional - and never fail to provide outstanding service.To elaborate, I’ve received a number of piercings at the studio from various piercers and purchased custom jewelry. During every interaction they made sure I was comfortable and well informed as to what was going on. Afterwards, they made sure to explain what exactly I needed to do insofar as aftercare is concerned and made sure I knew how best to contact them should something go wrong. While it sounds scarier with needles, it was much easier and the recovery is like night and day. My stacked lobes are looking and feeling fantastic. I can’t wait to go back. I was really disappointed by the unprofessionalism by the group of piercers riding dirt bikes outside that I didn’t even make my way into the building. I was still charged for my appointment because I missed the cancellation window and was told i should make an appointment because a walk-in wasn’t available. Just wanted my lobes done :/

Been wanting to visit this place for a while. I brought my girlfriend in for a jewelry change on her cartilage and OBVIOUSLY she wanted to get another piercing because the jewelry in this place is extensive and GORGEOUS.Feels like a safe space. It’s clean, warm and welcoming. Thanks to Em and Santi for helping us out (I can’t remember the names for the other two working but they were amazing too!) Everyone helped us out in their own way and it was awesome. Definitely will recommend to everyone I know wanting a good piercing. Props to Chux for creating such a beautiful business with such passion and artistry. Love love loved it.

Was greeted by Kay who is super knowledgeable about the jewelry and finding what appeals most you! Pete did an amazing job with my custom nose ring on a super old piercing and replacing my second nose piercing that was done with poor quality jewelry at another shop a week ago. I was surprised with the info I learned to care for my new piercing and appreciate them getting me in and out in a quick time since I popped in with no appointment. The pain and discomfort I had is gone and it was almost instantly. no lie! I’ll never get another piercing done elsewhere! Amazing experience 10/10***

This is by far the best place for piercings. Ive been here a couple times for services for myself, my daughter, and my sister and each time everyone is beyond amazing. From the moment you walk in to the moment you leave everyone is so nice and attentive. Everyone makes you feel welcomed and honestly the vibe is just like no other. I love Old Traditions! I have been pierced by Em, Salem, and Pete and it was amazing every time. The front end stuff are so nice and helpful. Everyone is very knowledgeable about products and processes. The facility is very clean and attractive. They have a very large selection of jewelry across a wide price range. They are APP compliant and keep up with the most recent health and safety guidelines.Cannot recommend Old Traditions enough :)

First shop I’ve been to since I had my ears pierced at Clair’s when I was a kid. This shop was clean and the service was phenomenal.As soon as we walked in we were greeted, consulted, and shown around the show room. The receptionist guided me to the best shapes/designs for my helix piercing based on my ear size and shape.Not only was the front of house service 10/10, the guest piercer, Brian, was FANTASTIC - 10 out of 10 would recommend! He was very friendly, informative, and down to earth.

I decided spur of the moment to stop in for assistance changing my nose ring. I then chose to get my tragus pierced. As soon as I walked in I was greeted and helped. I was introduced to Sarah who was going to do the piercing and she took so much time with me picking out the jewelry and talking me through the process step by step. I can confidently say I will be back!

Got my nose pierced here by Pete. He did a great job explaining the process, helping decide on placement to allow for both a stud or a hoop, and the whole thing was pretty much painless. Its been about a month since, and the healing has been awesome. No issues, which I have to thank him for as well for explaining aftercare so well and addressing any questions I had. Thanks Pete!!

So sadly we had such a bad experience I feel the need to update my review. Yesterday my teenage daughter had an appointment to get her third lobe, helix and conch pierced. When we walked in the sweet young lady at the register helped her pick out jewelry, and gave me a total estimate. We then waited half an hour past our appointment time (which was a little annoying as she had to go to work but it happens). Then some girl we have never seen comes out to take her back to pierce her. We were expecting Pete, but we figured they were busy so okay. We tell her what piercings shes going to have done, and she marks all the spots and asks our approval. My daughter wants to start with her thirds so she does the left ear, no problem. She then does the right ear and immediately I can tell something is up. She nervously laughs and says she pierced it all wonky and wants to redo it. Then she says lets to the last two a revisit. She does her helix and conch and while my daughter is a bit sweaty from the pain shes okay. I then look at her third and its awful. I tell my daughter she should let her redo it. She agrees. She pulls out the post and proceeds to hold gauze on it to stop the bleeding so she can see. She then switches the gauze with one SOAKED IN ALCOHOL at which point my daughter winces, and cries out a little. Shes then like Im sorry girlfriend that was a stupid move on my part. Ya think??? She manages to finally stop the bleeding and repierce the lobe and this time its better. I have to say this was an incredibly disappointing experience. The piercer was a guest piercer and perhaps they should choose who they let pierce in their shop more wisely. We have been coming here for a long time, and have always had great experiences but this was terrible. If your only job is to pierce, then you should be able to do it competently. Because of this experience something simple like a third caused more pain and trauma then her helix and conch together which is crazy.Have now taken both my daughters here to get pierced and they do an amazing job. Super professional and clean.

I brought my 15-year-old daughter out there last week to get a piercing. Their guest piercer Matias did her pirecing. He was beyond amazing and made her feel at ease. Now she wants him to do all her piercings she has planned. Thank you Matias!!!!!

I took my daughter here to get her nose pierced. The shop has very tight, limited parking in front but the shop itself is really clean with incredibly friendly and knowledgeable staff. They go by the book to ensure minors are not being forced. My daughter loves her nose ring, and we were able to go back a few months later to replace to yet another ring. The process was quick and relatively pain-free. Being able to set appts online is very convenient, and we were running late on our second appt, but they were very accommodating. I intend to go there again, maybe for a second earring at some point. Im glad I found this gem!

I found this shop by searching for piercers certified with APP (association of professional piercers), and as soon as I walked into the shop I could tell it was super well kept, sanitary, and that the people who worked there cared about the quality of their work. The people at the desk were super personable and helpful; overall it was just such a nice environment! I have no concerns about the competency or quality of the people who work there, I felt like I was in really good/knowledgeable hands. Will be making the hour drive to downsize in a few weeks and get more piercings, as well as refer friends and family here!

So far Ive gotten four piercings here and always had a good experience. The first visit I had, they werent able to do what I asked and suggested something that would look flattering for my ear shape instead! I walked out with a conch that I still get compliments on. They always take their time to explain the process and let you pick your jewelry:)

The place is so fancy, and makes you feel like a client rather than just a customer. The staff is friendly, very good vibe from every single person as well as thorough on everything! Will be returning for who knows what piercing next, but it will be soon!

My wifes piercing got infected so she went back today to have it removed. Not only did she receiveABSOLUTELY ZERO compensation, but they also CHARGED HER for the removal. I dont know if this is standard practice in the piercing industry, but I find this shockingly unprofessional.

I came in on Monday for my double lobe and saw Chux and that was amazing. Everyone was so nice and welcoming. I then came in today for my triple lobes with Em and she was fantastic! Got my very first facial piercing last week with Emity!! She was super sweet and walked me through the whole process and made it a really good experience. Sad to hear she’s only a guest piercer at Old Traditions, I would love to get all my future piercings done by her!!!

I wish I could give more than 5 stars. I have been to this shop multiple times and every time has been amazing. Such knowledgeable artists that take such care in their work. They all make sure you are comfortable, they make suggestions but are not pushy at all and want you to be happy with your selection. Every person there is so eager to help you and ask all the right questions to narrow down exactly what you want. Ive suggested this location to others and they have been so happy with their piercings as well. I will continue to drive 45 minutes to this location for piercings.I want to make note, my recent visit, I was pierced by a guest piercer Matias Tafel from Argentina. The moment he walked over and introduced himself I couldnt stop watching this person in the shop. He was dancing to music, jumping in and making suggestions and was so excited to do fun new work. We talked my whole appointment and he is a genuinely amazing person that takes so much care in his work. Ive come here for multiple piercings and I will KEEP coming here for future ones! my most recent was snakebites with peter. hes incredibly knowledgeable with the piercings hes giving, and made sure I knew all about what I was getting myself into, as well as what I should expect for the healing process. he answered all my questions and was overall just really fun to chat with! highly recommend old traditions for all your body mods and piercing needs. it can get a little pricey but for the quality of both the piercings and jewelry, its absolutely worth it!

I will forever recommend this shop!! Took my 6yo today to get her earlobes pierced. Salem and Em took such great care of her and took their time to explain everything and allow my daughter to get all her feelings out. Sarah at the front was also super amazing and made sure to explain to my baby that this day was hers and would go on her terms. Got my helix pierced about 4 weeks ago and just went and got the back changed out to a shorter one. Everything is healing great. Everyone is so nice and gave amazing advice in terms of what earrings to pick and how to take care of the piercing. I 100% recommend going here and I will be coming back.

Sarah and Em were absolutely wonderful. Actually all the staff was! Sarah spent a while helping me find the right jewelry to fit my desires, and even came up with an amazing design that I love. Em made the piercing pain free and talked through every step. I’ve had cartilage piercings before and it can be quite painful, but I didn’t feel anything! This is the only place I will be going for any future piercings. Great environment. Friendly staff. Very clean. Very knowledgeable.

I was super nervous to get my first piercings done but Pete who was the piercer I had was phenomenal! He was very personable and energetic and made sure I understood everything he was doing in the process and frequently asked if I was okay with the next step. I love Old Traditions. I’ve been there twice before but not for me. I finally went to get two helix piercings and a conch piercing done for 2 for Tuesday. I was hoping Salem would be my piercer and she was. She was so welcoming and informative. She answered any questions I had and made sure I was doing okay during the entire process. I will for sure go back to get more and I would recommend to anyone.

My daughters had their ears pierced by Pete, and it was an awesome experience for both of them! They both went in very nervous, and Pete did such a great job explaining the process, reminding them to breathe, and letting them know it was okay to be nervous. For my older daughter, this was her second lobe piercing after going to Claires as a child. We both agreed this was a way better experience - it was less painful, her ears healed faster, and it was so much more sterile. Highly recommend Old Traditions (and Pete!).

I had a nose piercing done by Pete and he was amazing! From the moment I walked in I had help picking out jewelry and he walked me through each and every step of what he was doing. Although when I downsized (not done by him) my piercing ended up falling through my nose and that was a little scary and frustrating but when I contacted them they immediately took care of me and fixed the issue ! I initially went in for a consultation to see what I could get done for my ears and find out what would look good with the piercings I already have, and I left with awesome new piercings! Came here with a group of friends today - we all made appointments prior to arriving. All of us had a great experience - the jewelry selection was beautiful, the person who coordinated the jewelry/payment stuff was great and every one of the piercers was extremely knowledgeable and pleasant!I was very nervous for my appointment, but Chux & Salem checked, double-checked, and triple-checked their measurements and placement. They spoke to me about their process and calmed my nerves. The actual piercing was quick and well-done. I will be recommending this place to anyone in the Chicago suburbs who is looking for a piercing - this place is simply the BEST and I cant wait to come back. 😁

M was great, very professional but still fun and personable. She did a fantastic job and my piercing healed nicely. She gave excellent discharge instructions and the piercing cleansing spray she gave me was great and lasted a long time. They jewelry they use is top notch. Literally the worst place i’ve ever been to. As someone who has had piercings for an extremely long time I’ve gone to other shops to get them and i’ve never had any issues. My friend and I have gone there multiple times to get her pierced and to get jewelry. She’s probably spent over 1,000$ in jewelry there and every single piece of jewelry she’s had she’s had problems with. Pieces falling out, jewelry not staying in her hole, one time someone literally gave her a piercing meant for your ear and put it in her nose!!! Which is SO messed up and no one bothered to even help or refund her! So unprofessional messing up and not even owning up to it and not refunding her. I am DONE with this place.

Pete did a septum piercing on me and a nostril piercing on my husband. He was friendly, explained every step of the process, made jokes with us, and just had a good vibe overall. I actually left there not super in love with my piercing, and I feel bad because I think Pete could tell. Just three days later, I freaking love it! I don’t know if it “settled” or if a few days of healing make that much difference, but I swear my jewelry is perfectly straight now. Even with it being bent open a bit so I can flip it up into my nose for work, it sits pretty snugly against my septum. My biggest fear was the piercer piercing the wrong spot in my nose, and Pete nailed it. Thank you so much and I look forward to coming to you again in the future ☺️ETA: Gotta give a shout-out to Sarah too! She is such a pleasant person, made us feel really listened to and comfortable when picking out the jewelry we wanted, and offered good advice.

I was so nervous when I got there. Peter was the one who volunteered to pierce this big baby. He was so amazing!!!! Peter really calmed my nerves and made me feel comfortable. He explained everything as he was piercing my nose. I most likely will never get another piercing, but if I do, Im going to see Peter!!!!

I cannot recommend Old Traditions enough. From the front desk to the piercers its always a great experience. Chux was my piercer for my septum and nostril piercing and he made the whole process a breeze, and almost painless. They have a lot of different styles of jewelery as well, so you are sure to find something that fits your style and price point.

Chux ended up piercing my ear lobes and it was a smooth and simple process made easy thanks to Chuxs expertise. Easily the best piercing shop and body jewelry I have ever seen in my life. The staff there are all kind and extremely knowledgeable as well as well trained in their craft as well as safety.

I can never say enough good things about this place. Every single staff member is so kind and knowledgeable, they truly want to help you find jewelry that is right for you and make you feel comfortable from the moment you walk in to the second you leave. Ellie helped me out and was incredibly sweet and really took the time to make sure I was getting jewelry I liked, while still staying conscious of my budget. Body modification is such an intimate and personal experience, and every staff member truly respects that and every individual’s choice. At the same time, they are honest and only want the best for you. I came in this time to get a piece I had gotten somewhere else removed and wanted to get a piercing done too, and Maddie was so patient, personable, and kind. She gave me some options, and was super gentle and walked me through the whole process. I 10000% recommend Maddie or any other piercer at this studio. You can tell they all truly love what they do and are there to help you feel good about yourself.

I was here tuesday the 6th for my piercings, I had the best experience I couldve possibly imagined. Sarah helped check me in and pick out my jewlery, her vibe was so fun she really set it for me! Salem was my actual piercer, she did awesome with the lil side convos to help keep my mind at ease to walking me through the actual piercing itself! Chux was there and helped as well, his vibe was also amazing! He made sure to remind me to take control and feel the moment and that helped a lot! They were done before I even knew it! The whole overall start to finish was awesome and I will definitely be returning!

Amazing, professional shop! They sell high quality, unique jewelry and the staff is incredible. They took the time to help me find jewelry that l liked and was within my price range. I did not feel rushed or pressured. They also explained all the necessary information about my current jewelry from piercings done at other shops and and how the quality and standards of their jewelry are different (better). The shop owner was quite talkative and wanted to establish a relationship with his clients which I really respect. He’s great. If you’re looking for a piercing shop, go here!!! 10/10 highly recommended! I had an appointment for 3:30 but needed to be somewhere at that time so I walked in at 12 hoping they could work something out for me and that’s exactly what they did! Truly truly kind hearted people who know what they are doing! the front receptionist was Emily and I knew she has YEARS of customer service experience because the moment I walked in she greeted me so kindly and listened to my dilemma and made sure I was taken care of she helped me pick out a great piercing as well! My piercer was Oscar and he rocks! He talked to me through every step, and answered all my questions! He has only been speaking English for 7months but he sounded pretty good! Great job to the entire staff in that store I’ll be back in 6 weeks for my downsizing!

Pete is an amazing piercer! Made me comfortable during the entire process and definitely made my partner feel a lot calmer witg getting his first piercing. Amazing place, would greatly recommend getting piercings and high quality jewlery from here.

I wouldn’t even give this place one star for customer service! I highly recommend that nobody ever goes to this place! My daughter and her friend were getting a piercing by a professional that came to our house it just so happened. We had an emergency and needed a different size Labre jewelry my daughter’s friend had already had the piercing and had a hole in Her lip which I explained over the phone so i asked if they had the jewelry we needed. And she told me yes they had it. Unfortunately it was 15 minutes before they close and I live close by so I assured her I would make it there in time and she already knew what we needed. We only needed to make the purchase, so the girls rushed to get there. They got there 3 minutes before closing and the lady that was working there that I talked to on the phone was just locking the door. I told her that we would make it there in time to please wait, and she just looked at the girls and locked the door and walked away , I could not believe that that happened. I even asked her to please help us that it’s an emergency and it’s Christmas. I offered to pay more money for her inconvenience but the fact that she told us to come on up so the girls rushed to get there and she intentionally shut the door and locked it , three minutes before closing time was probably the most ignorant thing that an individual could ever do. Especially to a customer on Christmas. I hope nobody ever goes there. 🤬

Very experienced staff here!!! They are knowledgeable, friendly, and listen to what you want. They take the time to make sure what you are asking for is going to fit well on your body to minimize rejection. They are not just in it for the money, they care about you and your health. They use sterile equipment, and the piercing room is impeccably clean!!! They obviously have a passion for this and they take pride in what they do!!! Also, every second tuesday of the month they have BOGO piercings too!!! Best place to go to, hands down!!! HIGHLY RECOMMEND!!! We will be back!!!

I had a few piercings done at Old Traditions over the past few months and each time had a great experience. I was pierced by Chux, Em and Salem and they are all very talented, kind and helpful calming my nerves since I was pretty nervous. Ive been back for check-ups, downsizing and earring changes and every time Im there everyone is so nice and welcoming. OTBA also has an excellent earring selection so if youre looking for a curated ear - this is the place to go!

Pete is the best! A few months ago I got my eyebrows pierced and my boyfriend got his lip & nose. He had major issues with swelling in his nostril but Pete has be so kind and caring and super responsive over Instagram. He gave detailed instructions on how to help the swelling and assisted with an upsize when needed. We both recommend getting pierced by Pete!

Em was a delight the second I walked in the door. Pete was my piercer. Sweet, respectful, extremely informative, helped me feel more at ease. Next piercing, I will definitely be going back to them.

Everyone who worked there was very welcoming. I was nervous getting my septum pierced since I have a strong fear of needles, but everyone was super friendly and calming, so I was able to relax a lot after about 5 minutes in the store. Derek was my piercer, and he did an amazing job calming my panicked self down and just walking me through the steps. I honestly barely even felt the piercing, and Im still astounded by how little it hurt. Overall, Old Traditions Piercing is an amazing place with awesome staff, and I highly recommend it to anyone interested!

Santi did my piercing and he was calm and explained everything he was doing.I got my nose pierced at a different shop last year & he also talked with me about what likely caused the bump I got and things I should/shouldn’t have done.Old Traditions rocks and I will 100% be back for all future piercings!!

The artists themselves are wonderful, but the prices are not only too high, but also deceptively listed, and they do not tell you the total until the piercing has been done and there is nothing you can do about it. The front desk staff are also very rude, the wait times are excessive, even when you have an appointment, and overall the experience was mediocre. I would not recommend this place to anyone. There are many facilities with the same or better quality and considerably better pricing. Do yourself a favor and choose anywhere else.

I was so excited to visit this shop and get multiple piercings by Em! The entire process was smooth and every step was explained to me. They worked around my sewn up ears and made sure I knew about the healing process. They had a huuuuge selection of gorgeous jewelry and when I came in with my previously stretched out navel piercing, they recommended the best option of jewelry and literally made a custom navel ring for me on the spot!!!! (Thank you, chux! 🤍) I highly recommend this shop. I live 5 1/2 hours away and will make a point to come here when I want another hole in my body. (Ears and philtrum were done by Em)

Old traditions is in an unassuming shopping center, I Went here for a helix piercing. I set up my appointment online. Everyone was super friendly and informative. The place is clean and relaxing... almost reminds me of a yoga studio! Noel; my piercer was sweet & left no surprises explaining everything step by step. Will definitely be back for another piercing.

I just went to Old Traditions on Friday to get my nose pierced. As someone who has never gotten a piercing before I was extremely nervous. I have to say that Em made me feel so welcomed the second I walked in and knew exactly what jewelry would be perfect based on my idea. The whole place was clean, neat, and everyone was insanely nice. I had Chux and a guest piercer both of which were so kind and funny. The piercing itself hurt for maybe a minute and so far cleaning it has been really easy. I will definitely be coming back here for any piercing I want in the future! :)

Got 6 piercings done yesterday and it was a great experience. Everyone there was super nice and took their time with me to make sure I got what I wanted. Maddie is a great piercer. I originally got my nose pierced in April at another shop, and was told I could replace my stud with a hoop after 6 weeks. I went to another location that didn’t even let me select the jewelry and put a hoop in I didn’t like, and felt too big.I wanted a second opinion and made my appointment the same day for Old Traditions. Everyone was so friendly, and Vikki was amazing! I found out that it was way too early to switch to a hoop, and she helped me pick out a new nose stud. She was patient and explained everything in so much detail! Plus, I’m glad we got the hoop out before any infection happened.Moving forward, they will definitely be my piercing/jewelry place of choice! Thanks again!

Today, Rylie gave me 2 conch piercings and a helix piercing which all turned out great! I am so happy with her work. She made me feel very comfortable and explained everything as she went on. She encouraged me to speak up and made sure we were all on the same page before she started. With that said, there were additional charges for jewelry backs and the spray that were not mentioned beforehand so be prepared for that.

Old Traditions is the GOAT. Period. I’ve gotten 7 piercings from them and they heal better than any other piercing I’ve ever gotten. Old Traditions is clean (hello, they use one time use pens to mark spots on your skin… now that is commitment), and has a very chill atmosphere. I’ve learned so much about piercings from them and I love that Chux is always looking out for the rest of the piercers (especially the apprentices)… it says a lot about someone when you watch them interact with someone who is learning something new.I will literally go nowhere else to get pierced. On top of everything I just mentioned, their jewelry is so cool.TL/DR Old Traditions is the best place to get pierced.

Went in for my first ever piercing with my father. The customer service was truly amazing, felt as if we were bestfriends. Answered all questions no matter how dumb and gave so much time to let me look and decided what jewelry I wanted(even help point out some pieces after saying what I was into). Everything was sterilized using machines. Piercer (Maddie) made me feel comfortable and worked on my time, didnt rush, or force. 10/10 nothing negative to say, will be coming back if more piercings r in my future.

Today my wife and I visited Old Traditions piercing. She wanted to have a small nose piercing, well what I can say about this place is this. It has been a very very very long time, since I have been in a business that the staff and owner were so very professional and just down to earth people. The store was clean and the atmosphere was just great. Maddie ( hope I spell her name correctly. She was the technician serving my wife, She had such bedside manners, she should have have a career in the medical field. Just super awesome. Everything was explained in detail. No hassle or pressure, just the way I feel any business should be ran. From the phone call with “M” to the completion of the piercing, it was truly 5 star service. Highly recommended..

Loved this place! Went there recently for the first time and got a nose and forward helix piecing in the same trip. Not only is the staff tremendously friendly and helpful, they are more knowledgeable. They have beautiful jewelry to pick from and you are paying for a truly high quality piercing.
