Had the absolute best time getting tattooed by Carey! He did an incredible job and he made the process so easy and fun. Its even better than I could have ever imagined it and i cant wait for my next one!

Recently attended Tats 4 Tails charity flash event, it was awesome!!! The people checking people in were very friendly and professional in all the craziness of the tons of people who showed up. I got tattooed by Abby, she is AMAZING her art is beautiful and she was extremely friendly and great to work with! Literally the lightest touch of ANY person I’ve ever been tattooed by. Will DEFINITELY continue getting tattooed at Dark Harbor it’s an amazing experience every single visit!!!

The space is incredibly inviting. All the artists were very friendly. Love all the plants. The individual rooms for privacy are great. Shelby Stevens did an amazing job. Definitely a customer for life. I can’t wait to go back for more!

My son Noah and I reached out to Eli at the South Portland location for two separate tattoos. Eli’s suggestions for improving the look of the tattoos was spot on. We both left saying how his ideas made what we sent him shine. It is so awesome to be around someone that has so much passion for what they do. A huge shout out to you, Eli. I attended the Tats 4 Tails event on October 21st, 2023 at the Portland location on Exchange Street. The team was very thorough with explanations of the whole process. There were also frequent check-ins with attending individuals from Jess; who was a complete rockstar with organizing and check-ins! All of the artists were working long hours for a great cause and struck up conversations in between clients with me and my friend who attended!! We had a longer than expected wait time, but were offered breaks to get a bite to eat and do some shopping! Jess also provided clientele with candy and bottles of water and made sure all of the waiting clients were properly attended to. My friend and I were the last two clients left on James’ list. We patiently waited our turn, and would not wish for a better outcome. James was kind, patient, and very apologetic for longer than normal wait times. He took our requests for placements into consideration and made sure the piece was perfect before starting! His professionalism and passion for tattooing really shined through. James made the environment there warm and welcoming. He was very talkative and really made sure to get to know his clients, we felt like family after leaving the studio! I highly recommend tattoos from Dark Harbor, and will definitely be booking an appointment in the future with James! ✨🖤

I was pierced by Dustin and it went great!It was a fabulous experience. The shop was clean and tidy. A lot of time and prep went into the piercing and my piercer was very knowledgeable with many years of piercing to add to that.I got some old piercings swapped out as well and I love the new rings!I will be back for sure!

I went to the Tats 4 Tails flash event this weekend, and it was a blast! The line was long, but the staff kept it moving, gave everyone plenty of timing updates, and remained pleasant and professional all day. They allowed people to step out to grab lunch and come back, and provided candy and water for those who chose to stay and wait. Abby did my adorable tattoo, and was wonderful to work with. She was easy to talk to, had a steady and gentle hand, and my tattoo came out perfect! I will definitely be returning to her for custom work in the future!

Best place for a tattoo in southern Maine! I’ve had a couple pieces done by Steve and his work is incredible. The other artists I’ve met there also seem great and the space is awesome. Super professional atmosphere while also having a chill vibe. Highly recommended!!

The shop is beautiful an has a really cool vibe. Ive seen Abby numerous times, and she has never disappointed! Her background and education in Art is so impressive, and collectively she is a outstanding artist and energy!! Can’t wait for her books to reopen an get in for my next piece!

10/10 highly recommend! Abby is adorable and very talented. I was unable to get in on the Tats 4 Tails day, so she squeezed me in to give me the most hilarious and adorable cat loaf I had hoped to get. The studio is very clean and welcoming. Abby was very professional in her explanations of what was going to happen, but very funny and made me feel very comfortable. Im going back for a leg lamp from A Christmas Story next month!

Hands down the best place to get a tattoo in Portland! The entire crew was welcoming, fun, and showed tons of positive energy. James did absolutely amazing work! He was passionate about his craft, created a comfortable environment to be in, and took the time to answer every question. He sets the bar for all aspiring and experienced tattoo artists. I am beyond satisfied with how our tattoo project turned out!!

The owner Steve Marzza is the best tattoo artist in Maine. The entire staff is incredible and since living in Maine Ive gotten all of my tattoos here. Honestly the best tattoo shop in all of Maine

I had my back tattooed by Steve Marzza yesterday and honestly, it was such a therapeutic experience. For starters, the shop itself is exceptionally beautiful and the other Artist working there were very kind and friendly which made me feel instantly welcome and comfortable. Steve was amazingly thoughtful in the design I picked as well as walking me through each step of the process with how the tattoo would be placed, any concerns he may have had for the various designs, and just in general making sure I was involved and feeling good about things. He checked in with me often to make sure I was okay through the process and just was a very professional and thoughtful Artist with great conversation and energy. His apprentice Sky was also in the room with us and she had two clients that I saw working with her while I was getting my back done. She is incredibly kind, professional, motivated, and really cares for her clients and her art. I definitely want a tattoo by her in the future! Im excited to keep going back and I highly recommend Dark Harbor!!

Had my septum pierced by Dustin. He was wonderful! He was informative, cautious, and you can tell he genuinely cares.The studio itself is clean, beautifully decorated and welcoming. 10/10 would go back anytime!

Took the 2 hour drive to see Logan Turgeon to get my arm started and it was worth every second. Logan is super talented and makes sure you’re getting exactly what you want. Can’t say enough good things, highly recommend

Me and four of my friends went to get matching tattoos of moths. Sky worked Sunday when she normally doesn’t. She was amazing the whole 8ish hours we were there getting tattooed. She was very friendly and the atmosphere of the whole shop was immaculate! She took her time with the tattoos and throughly cleaned between all of us. They turned out amazing and we had an amazing time here!! Will definitely be going back!! Highly recommend

Absolutely the best tattoo shop around. Steve, Jess and their crew are some of the nicest and most down to earth people you’ll meet. They’ll make sure you’re not only getting a quality piece but will also give you the best experience while having it done. This new shop is exceptionally clean and the atrium is a very welcoming spot! You will not be disappointed!

I just had a small flash design done by James at the Tats for Tails event and I couldn’t be happier. I love the tattoo and James was friendly and comfortable.
