Lucky Dice Tattoo Shop Spartanburg

My first tattoo experience was one for the books. I went in thinking small to start with. Showed them what I wanted. Lance at Lucky Dice suggested we enlarge it. After working on the stencil, Ralph suggested for the piece to go larger. I was apprehensive at first but they assured me that it was going to turn out great. They were not wrong, Lance was meticulous and took his time all the while having conversation with me. I had asked how long it might take and Lance said, No idea how long it will take. Till its right, what an awesome answer! Lance is asking me to come back in a few weeks so he can touch up after the healing and also said he was going to add a little bit more.Thanks to Lance and Lucky Dice, Ill be back!!!

Raphael did my tattoo and I LOVE it!!! This looks just like the portrait I showed him I’m in awe!! I love It and cannot wait to go back to Lucky Dice and have Raphael add more to it!! Great place, clean and safe!! 10/10 would recommend.

Man I love this place! The shop owner Raphael Ospino Did a couple sick pieces on me and came out amazing! Highly recommend! They have amazing tattoo artist there that are willing to just put art on your body!! And they are reasonable priced they will work with you!

Absolutely love Raphael ! Got sister tattoos on Saturday , made an appt for Monday to fill up some more space on my arm and he came up with something fantastic! I’ll definitely be back in a few weeks for more ink! Definitely a more relaxed chill vibe too in the shop , love it .

My husband I came in about 9pm on a Thursday night and Lance took care of us both. The tattoos are amazing and we love them. Lance we will definitely be going back to see ya! Keep ducking...lol

I highly recommend DJ. I came in as a walk- in with a picture of the design I wanted & he was happy to help me. His prices are good & he made sure he communicated with me every step of the way to make sure the stencil & placement were exactly what I wanted. He is light handed which is nice. Overall he is a really great tattoo artist & I will gladly be coming back & recommending him to others!

Raphael did my tattoo. he spent an hour on it when it should have only taken maybe 20-30 min tops. he messed up multiple times for one. for two. he kept going over the same spots multiple times. for three. he was literally DIGGING. into my skin. i got my tattoo on my forearm. one of the less painful spots and the way he was tattooing me brought tears to my eyes. and to top it all off. it’s become infected because he was touching other things while tattooing me. i’ve been in almost unbearable pain for 2 days now. these photos show the infection AND how deep he really went.

We love AGs work!! Everyone at Lucky Dice are friendly and great at what they do!! Wouldnt recommend anyone or anywhere else.

On Wednesday, April 5, 2023, my wife, sister-in-law and myself all 3 got tattoos by the awesome and talented Mary Jane. She is very professional, skilled, and incredibly easy to work with. Over the years Ive had well over a dozen artists tattoo me. She is one of the best Ive experienced.Lucky Dice is lucky to have her. We WILL definitely be back to get more tats by her.The shop has a relaxed atmosphere. And is nicely decorated.All 3 of us had a great experience, and got nicely done tattoos at reasonable prices.

Sierra was absolutely incredible! She did awesome, clean work for a very reasonable price!! The environment was welcoming and the location was surprisingly convenient. It was my friends first tattoo experience and I wanted very badly for her to enjoy it and she absolutely did!!

Easily 5 stars. Raphael did my tattoo and he was extremely kind, always checking on me to make sure I was doing ok. During the tattoo, since the piece I got was in a sensitive area, he made sure I got enough time to bounce back and even informed me on what I need in my system and why that sort of stuff helps with dizziness etc during a tattoo. Once the tattoo was finished he gave great instructions and recommendations on what to use to make sure the tattoo healed perfectly. As well as being a great tattoo artist, the overall vibe of the shop was extremely relaxed and laid back to make people feel comfortable while still having a nice touch of professionalism to it. I will absolutely be coming back :)

I called ahead to see if they took walk ins. Went in to try to get a very small very simple tattoo 3 hours before they closed (Not even 2 inches long). Two of the artist were outside smoking didn’t really even acknowledge us. They were debating on which one was going to do our tattoos. The girl said she already packed up all her stuff (again 2-3 hours before they close) We go in to tell the guy what we wanted. He then says “yeah this one’s for you” talking to the girl that packed her stuff up already. Then proceed to tell us we can make an appointment. Like I’ve said, this was 2-3 hours before they closed, we called in advance to ask if they took walk ins, and our tattoos that we were wanting were very small and simple. Would’ve taken maybe 45 min at the most for both of us. Will not be returning. I guess the plus side is that they didn’t tattoo me… probably would’ve been in too much of a rush to make it look good especially if you’re packing up 2 hours before you close.

Derek did my tattoo and was able to draw something that absolutely perfect for what I was going for. Wonderful environment and can’t wait to go back.

Me and my girlfriend decided to get our initials on each other at the spur of the moment kinda thing. It was after most places had already closed but luckily they werent. They also accepted walk-ins. Their prices were reasonable and the service was great. It was also my girlfriends first tattoo and the artist took his time and was absolutely amazing.

My artist is literally amazing. Chris was very thorough and was extremely attentive to detail. I went in the shop with a Solid concept of what I wanted but he truly molded it and brought it to life . Honestly, I’m grateful that I went with his artistic direction and can’t wait to finish up my thigh piece. I also liked the cleanliness of the place and how Chris made me feel comfortable during the session. This is my 3rd tattoo and the best experience I had thus far. I look forward to working mainly with this artist in the future.

Raphael did my tatto and its looks awesome. I loved the detailing and his work. He did my tattoo in a reasonable amount of time, and a very reasonable price!

My husband came up there and had a consult because Lance said he couldn’t do it that evening. So we set up an appointment for the following day at 7pm we called the shop told them we were stuck in traffic and would be 5-10 minutes late. They advised us then that Lance too told them he was running late. We get there at 7:08 exactly. Lance is still not there. We wait well over an hour and he never showed so I message him on his personal Facebook and he said he was wrapping up in 10 minutes and would be there we wait an ADDITIONAL 30 minutes and he still never showed so we left! I message him and he said we could schedule for another day and was apologetic. He told me he would let us know times and he hasn’t said anything since! We were planning to spend a good bit to get my husbands tattoo finished and that went down the drain. I do not recommend them if you have to go with Lance because that was the worst experience we have ever had with a tattoo artist.

Very very clean environment and Ralph’s work is nothing short of impeccable ! These guys (and gal) are laid back and make you feel like family ... Got a tattoo done here on my forearm. Sierra was the artist and didn’t do a very good job. Parts of it are uneven, parts of it are out of the lines, etc. It should have been easy considering its all line work.I went back to the shop later to see if they’d fix it. I was told by the owner that it wasn’t a huge deal (just a permanent mark on my body) and Sierra would fix it for free while the others would charge the shop minimum.If the artist didn’t do their best the first time around why would I let her tattoo me again? And why should I have to pay them more money to fix something that shouldnt have even happened? I would have been happy to pay a higher price for a better quality tattoo - that was never given as an option though.I will go somewhere else to get it fixed. Quality is more important than anything else when it’s a permanent mark on your body! I have a lot of tattoos and these guys did some awful work compared to the others. There are better shops and artists out there for sure.

I love this shop! Very clean and friendly people. The artist Raphael took my idea and turned it into a master piece. I have a full leg sleeve by him and its won first place at the south fl tattoo expo and has also been pictured in four different tattoo magazines! You dont have to take my word for it the ink speaks for itself! I Raphaels portraits are amazing too, I have three of them and people stop me all the time to look at my Bob Marley!

I came across this place by my husband 7 years ago. One of the artist there did a tattoo on my foot. I basically told him I wanted stars and do what he wanted. He did an amazing job. The colors are just as bright now as they were then. I recently got a tattoo by the owner Ralph a few months ago of a willow tree to cover my ex husbands name. It is more than I expected. It looks great and covered the name perfectly. I ended up going back a few weeks ago and got a oranges ribbon with my husbands hand writing to since he has leukemia. I also got a heart with a purple ribbon due to my daughter having lupus. They both turned out great. I will definitely go back. How can you go wrong with someone who wins national awards for tattooing. Ralph also did a tattoo on my husbands whole hand over 10 years ago and it still looks great.

I went to Lucky Dice earlier today and got my first tattoo, and it is amazing! My artist was AG and I am blown away by my tattoo! I had an idea of what I wanted and he took it and brought it to life and made it better before my eyes. Everyone was extremely nice and the shop was clean! I will definitely be going back for my next tattoo.

I saw Sierra for two tattoos. The shop is clean and customer service is decent.The first tattoo I got from her looked beautiful from a distance but didnt heal well. I thought it was partly my fault since she told me to dry heal it, and I did. But my skin sometimes gets dry and I should have known to just follow my normal aftercare. Ive heard that dry healing works well for some people, but she should have asked questions about my skin before suggesting itI scheduled the touch up at the same time as another small tattoo with a friend. She touched up the lines, but it was the color that really needed it so I asked her to touch up the blue as well. It seemed like she was annoyed by this request and I felt she was a little rougher than before. Same with the second, new tattoo. She also didnt touch up the red tongue, which looks horrible.Both tattoos scabbed heavier than any Ive had in the past and the black lines didnt come out clean. You can actually see spots where she went in too heavy (with thin lines). As you can see from the pictures, her work was sloppy and the color goes outside the lines in multiple places on the bigger piece.My friends tattoo also didnt heal well and when he went to another artist a couple weeks later (for something else), the artist commented on the bad quality of her work, and how heavy she was on the machine.I went to another shop for my last tattoo, which is much bolder, and it healed just fine - which confirms that the problem wasnt my aftercare, as Sierra suggested, but rather due to her application.I cant speak to the other artists, but I wouldnt recommend anyone else to Sierra.

Ralphael was great!! Took a semi messed up tattoo, fixed it, added more, & added color. Couldnt be happier with it now!! Awesome atmosphere also. Definitely a great group of people to spend time with while getting a tattoo!! Will definitely be back!

Mary Jane “MJ” did an AMAZING job on my tattoo. The top one is an older one just FYI! She was great throughout the whole experience. From the time I walked in the door and not having a clue what I wanted other than wanting to start a sleeve and to include my kids baby feet, to the time I walked out the door with a beautiful piece. Not having any clue of what I wanted MJ walked me through the many different styles and pics of hers and others work to give me some tattoos to reference, she gave me her professional opinion, and at the end of the session I was super happy with her piece. It’s a custom tattoo with some freehand and it looks great. If you looking for a great tattoo, a fair price, and a great experience to go with it, then go see MJ! She will take care of you, that’s a fact!

Chris tattooed two dragons on my shoulder and was extremely pleasant! Very professional. Love my tattoo! He’s an amazing artist and really knows what he’s doing. I would definitely recommend.

Went in to get my chest tattooed and to see about a cover up on my arm, so far I have gotten my chest and my cover up started by AG. Everyone is super talented and very experienced, I wanted to get realistic tattoos and they had no problem helping. Everyone there is super friendly, and helpful. If I could give 10 stars I would. 10/10 highly recommend.

Went and waited 3 hours. Barely greeted at all. Just stared at. Just to leave and not get the tattoo. They were very rude when we asked much longer it would take before we would get seated.

My artist was Raphael, He is on of the best tattoo artist around SERIOUSLY! My tattoo turned out 100 times better than I could ask and he and the staff are not just great artists but have awesome personalities and I left with a great out look on life and A great tattoo I will be back!

I came in a few weeks ago and got a sunflower as a coverup. I was charged $100 for something that looks like a joke. Scott was my artist and the drawing I asked for is not what I have. At first I was very excited it looked better than what I had but after waiting for it to heal to take the dermawrap off I saw all of my tattoos flaws. The lines are crooked, there is no shading like in the picture, the leaf is messed up, and to top it off theres petals missing on one side. This is not something I would expect of someone who has been tattooing for 24 years. Im so disappointed with my tattoo.

I was told if unhappy come back on the15 of September. It is the 14th. The guy who did mine is Scott. He said he would redo it if I am unhappy. Well not too happy.Scott is on vacation. So whats a girl to do?? Go elsewhere. It needs to be redone like promised I have tried calling the owner, but he does not answer the phone. Not a happy customer
