I flew to Detroit from Seattle to meet an artist I follow for a tattoo (Rosie) and was not expecting to walk into my new fave tattoo shop. Not only did my tattoo come out absolutely amazing, but all the artists there were super welcoming, fun to talk to, and just made our experience there the best one Ive had so far in my tattoo journey (I have like 14 now?)Cant wait to magically conjure up more money some day to visit again for some geeky pastel stuff!If youre an anime/comic/video game/ lover, book with these humans.

Absolutely amazing staff. I took my brother in for his first tattoo and left with nothing short of a positive experience. We ended up getting matching tattoos, which Chris & Kat killed on. If I were to pick 3 words to describe this shop and the artist that work there, they would be Hospitality, Cleanliness, And Professionalism. It should also be noted, the artist work areas are straight up vibes! Cant wait to come back for a visit

Andi helped me get my ear piercing back in. And she was very helpful with giving me correct cleaning information. I hadnt been doing it right. Whoops.

Every time I walk in everyone is so nice and welcoming, especially the owner. Rosie has done all of my tattoos and she’s amazing! I will only be going here from here on out and I even drive over an hour if that doesn’t speak volumes. ❤️ So grateful to find an awesome place such as this!

Had such a fantastic experience here! The shop is so clean and everyone is super friendly. I felt like a long term client even though it was my first time there! Absolutely love this place, had a hard time finding an artist to do 2 small tattoos for me. Kat took me instantly no questions asked! She did an amazing job, was super friendly, funny, and even helped me with a touch up few weeks later. Will be using her for more tattoos in the future. Thanks Kat!

Chris is super talented and creates a very relaxed experience. Got referred to him without knowing much, but very happy I did. Couldnt have been more happy with my tattoo and the overall experience (from the initial contact over the phone to meeting him in person and getting my tattoo). If youre looking for someone, I would highly suggest giving him a call.

Such a WONDERFUL experience for my first tattoo. The artists were all very welcoming and helped to ease my nerves with getting my tattoo. Amie was very creative and ensured my comfort at all points of the session. I wouldnt go anywhere else!

Needlework is so comfortable and welcoming when you enter! Chris is an amazing and versatile artist and Brit does great line work. Very clean, warm and they give you goody bags to take home to care for your tattoo properly. I will go no where else 🖤

Randee is the best piercer Ive met to date. First went to her in the Vicious Ink days and she was super duper informative and wonderful and helped me choose great jewelry for my two forward helix piercings. Everything is super clean and I love the care she puts into each piercing. I cant wait to get more from her; shes fabulous!

Randee 😊❤️ Oh my professional, honest and very detailed and sterile friendly Randee, with all her piercings! I currently have a surface anchor done by her from a previous location she was at and here I am now following her at the new location. As they say quality over quantity. You get what you pay for ! I’ve had my surface anchor going on two years now it healed properly and skin never rejected it due to following her proper professional caring instructions and her aftercare comes with a goodie bag !I highly recommend !!

I can not recommend this shop enough. They have amazing artists, the environment is very comfortable, and it is clear that good hygiene is a top priority. I am super thankful to Chris for the amazing job he did on my tattoo.

Chris is the best!! He did my first tattoo at 18 and pretty much all of my tattoos ever since! I’ve followed him from a few different shops, but so proud that he has his own beautiful place now!

It is definitely a great place to get a tattoo at. It’s a comfortable environment and very welcoming. The studio is really sanitary and the work is amazing! The artist is very talented and professional. Scheduling is convienent as well as no outrageous pricing. Great guy, great tattoos- Would recommend to anyone looking for a tattoo.

A little background to explain my review: I love tattoos but am afraid of needles and not a fan of pain so I mostly stand on the sidelines appreciating the artwork on others. A few years ago I decided to get a set of clovers on my wrist to represent my kids at a different tattoo shop. They turned out looking more like flowers and while the tattoo looked nice, it really wasnt what I was hoping for.I really wanted to find someone who was an artist. Not just good with copying clip art lining the walls of a shop, but one with vision, ideas, passion and compassion. Until I had enough confidence, I wasnt about to take another leap and end up disappointed again after all the anxiety I went through to get a tattoo done in the first place.Chris was referred to me by a dear friend who he completed work on. I scoped out his Facebook, checked out the photos of artwork hes done for other people along with the pieces hes done for my friend. I finally decided to reach out, and hope he could help with my clovers issue first and then hopefully down the line, take some of the other ideas I have in my head and create some original additional pieces.I sent him a photo, explained my original experience and told him what I had hoped to turn it into instead. He quickly responded to me, said he thought it would be an easy fix and invited me out to his shop so he could briefly see it in person.The shop/studio is unlike anything Ive ever seen. Certainly not what would be stereotyped as a tattoo shop. Its modern, clean, and provides an intimate space just for your experience. There isnt an assembly line of clients, its just you. When I arrived, he was in the middle of doing a tattoo for a gentleman. I showed him my tattoo and said again it would be a real easy revision and would send me a mock up soon. He took a quick break, reviewed his schedule and we booked an appointment. The gentleman getting tattooed showed me some of his other original pieces, all of them having been done by Chris. I left there really excited and more at peace with my anxiety.A few days before my appointment, Chris sent me an image he came up with as the cover up for my flowers. I responded back within seconds saying how much I loved it. It was exactly what I had explained and he just took it to the next level.The day of the appointment I was very nervous, which Chris could obviously sense. He did some resizing of the drawing to line it up more with what was being covered up, we went through some color options and started. The entire time he was very aware of my anxiety, kept engaging me in conversation, playing music, etc to help keep my mind off it. There was an iPad showing a slideshow of his previous work and I was amazed at how different all the themes and techniques were. He truly creates artwork based on the clients vision as well as his own. He talked me through the whole process and what to expect and also advised that my previous tattoo had a lot of scar tissue underneath it. His knowledge of the industry, the newer technology and overall incredibly personable approach was appreciated. When it was done, we discussed the bandage and healing process, and sent me home with everything I needed, including happiness over the new design and confidence that I would have no future anxiety issues with getting a tattoo again.I honestly cant praise this artist enough. I would recommend him to anyone and if I moved away from the local area, Id make the drive to his business because it was that great.

I’ve been pierced by Randee and have also sat with friends getting pierced and she’s so wonderful! She explains everything throughly so you feel absolutely no stress or uncertainty, her studio is so comfortable, and her personality is amazing! Randee is by far my favorite piercer by far and the only person I will recommend to all my friends and family!! I 1000% reccomend going to her eith any piercing you want!

I love going to Needlework Tattoo. I will no longer allow someone else to tattoo my body other than Chris. He does amazing work, he is honest and reliable. Its s always a good time when we go to him. He truley loves what he does.

What a great tattoo shop!!! Everyone is super friendly and go above and beyond for their customers!!! Highly recommend and the free tattoo after care kits are a huge bonus and very nice of the shop to offer!!! I would recommend this place 1,000 times over!!!

Very rude and disrespectful to veterans. The owner simply went off on my friend for asking if he needed to wear a mask bc he is disabled. I would NEVER EVER reccomend this place to my worst enemy in how this veteran was treated today!!! They need to learn class and obviously some kindness, compassion and decency. I give this place a big fat ZERO.

I have been going to Chris for tattoos for a couple years. Always a relaxed atmosphere, great to talk to and beautiful, clean work. Couldnt recommend more.

I’d have to say after being turned down at a few places Britt took me in and was by far the best experience I could of ever had for my first time. All the people here are wonderful and do great work I’m sooHappy with my stuff!
