It was my first time at the Studio City Tattoo shop and they did not disappoint. This cute little shop is pirate themed and loved every moment in here. The staff were so friendly and knowledgeable; and the shop is very clean.I came here to purchase a cartilage piercing and let me tell you. The jewelry selection here is phenomenal!!! They have jewelry for any style and aesthetics. Some of their pieces are one of a kind.I got this beautiful cartilage piercing and can’t wait to get all my jewelry here in the future.If you’re in Studio City, and in need of a tattoo and piercing this has to be on the shop you need in your life!!!

Studio City Tattoo is iconic! I have been coming here for years and am never disappointed. The staff is incredibly knowledgeable and not the least bit intimidating. Choice of jewelry is extensive and beautiful. I have very sensitive ears and they are fantastic helping me with the healing process. I have brought my daughters and even my mother to have their ears pierced here. The tattoo artists are also top tier and do beautiful extremely creative work. I have tried other places in both Los Angeles and New York City and always come back to Studio City. They are truly the best.

Ive been a client/customer of Studio City Tattoo since 2017, for both piercings and tattoos. My fam and I keep coming back to them for the talented, thoughtful tattoo artists, the exceptionally clean environment, and the speed, ease & success of piercings. Also some of the prettiest jewelry Ive seen in town.They take their time to ensure the environment is clean and sterile. Artists always talk you through tattoo inspirations and ideas, and give honest feedback to make sure you only get permanent ink youll be happy with forever. In general, the atmosphere is reassuring, and everyone working in the shop feels genuine. Thumbs way up.

This place for over 10 years has been my go to spot and the best, most reputable shop in the valley and LA in general. Everyone who works here is so kind and respectful. The shop is ALWAYS CLEAN. Steve is fantastic. He took out my dermal piercings and made it as painless as possible. The quality and craftsmanship here is unparalleled. Jose and Emily are great for tattoos as well. I will only get my tattoos and piercings from studio city tattoo!! Can’t recommend them enough. 10/10

Friendliest tattoo place Ive ever been in! Very clean and cool place. I got a nose piercing for the first time by Cat. she did a perfect job. Piercing looks great, no problems. I really appreciate the hospitality of everyone there. I live a few hours away from studio city but I would definitely come back here for all piercings or tattoos!

Danny Dunbar is the best! He’s been working on me for about 5-years now. I met him through his wife (who is a total smoke show btw) and came to learn that he’d tattooed a slew of my friends and colleagues. I originally booked an appointment for a small cover up, and that evolved into two full sleeves. Not a week goes by that I don’t have somebody complimenting his work or asking me where I get tattooed. Besides being super talented, he has made me feel really comfortable from day one, and always has a story to tell. And he got me hooked on Love on the Spectrum… I mean how wholesome is that for a dude with a neck tattoo?

I love Studio City Tattoo and everyone in there. Got my 13 year old kid’s ears pierced and Cat was amazing! So patient and caring and let my kid calm down privately before continuing (my kid has anxiety issues). Afterward Cat was so supportive and an awesome cheerleader. Needless to say, we are so happy with the piercings. My sister even got her seconds done as well and I’ll be getting mine done soon. Awesome studio all around! Thank you SCT!

Great place for piercings and tattoos!. The staff members are all very friendly and interactive with clients. Socially, it has an old school barbershop feel with tattoo artists, their clients, piercing artists and their clients interacting. First time I went, I was with my sister who was getting a regular earlobe piercing. Cat did a great job and was super mindful of sterile technique and accurate measurement! I went back a week later to get a daith piercing. Hernan did a fantastic job and adhered to all the same standard health practices Ive come to love this place for! If you are a shopper, there is a great jewelry collection too. You cant go wrong if you decide to get tatted or pierced here.

Came to get my daughters nose pierced. Was able to work with Marv. Hes such an awesome and fun person to work with. Loved the atmosphere and he made us feel really comfortable. Definitely coming back in a couple weeks to get a piercing for the wife and probably my first tatoo.

Great staff. Cat was very sweet, very knowledgeable, and explained everything step by step. Walked in and was able to have my ears pierced right away.

Called ahead to ask about the possibility of getting a tattoo done for my wife - were able to send some reference pics via email and were told it could be done that day. Helped us find an artist to work with our timeline and specifications. Were receptive to questions and concerns and put us completely at ease.Shark worked with us to ensure the stencil matched the ask and that placement was perfect, helped us pick ink color, and put on a beautiful piece quickly. Did a great job on something outside what his portfolio normally showcases. Very pleased, will come back again.The ambience of the shop is super fun, and while we only got a tattoo done today I wouldnt hesitate to come back for piercing either. The piercer was a hoot, telling bad jokes and doing magic tricks the whole time. More importantly, though, we saw them do good due diligence on a piercing client who came in and advised that they wait on a piercing (at a potential cost of lost business) because they werent confident a prior piercing done by another shop was healed enough for it to take (with care instructions and estimated wait time before they would recommend going ahead). I always appreciate a shop that will turn down a paying customer in the interest of better outcomes because I know theyll be honest about realistic outcomes!

Amazing place, great vibes, Dillon made my first real tattoo experience a great one. He was very honest about what he thought about what I wanted, and he did amazing work. 100% will come back in the future. Honest and good advice. We wanted a piercing and they advised against it. They could have taken the money but they said she didnt have the belly button..... to get pierced

Horrible experience with the girl who pierced my ear, not only was she rude and condescending with me being in a budget jewelry wise she pierced my ear in a very weird angle, I have been pierced before many times and never has it hurt so much and not healed it’s been 6 months and I’m still in pain I had to relive the piercing and now I h e a permanent lump and scar! Definitely do not reccomend her. I’ve had more successful piercings at Claire’s for way cheaper! Lesson learned!

I went to this shop once to switch my helix pericinv that I got done at another shop out for a hoop after hearing good things from a friend. Cat had such a great personality and took great care changing the piercing that I decided she was who I would have pierce my nose a few months later. Just got my nose pierced and she did a wonderful job, it barely hurt and she made sure that everything was super clean. She was also really patient and helpful while I decided on my jewelry.

All the stars for the staff here. We got our 9 year old’s piercing done here by Steve and had the best experience. Steve is professional! Explained every step to our child and made sure she confirmed she was ready. Let her ask all the questions she wanted with no judgement. He gave us expert care advice. This is my favorite shop for piercings and tattoos. I’ve had a septum and nostril piercing by Steve and Kat, both were amazing experiences. They have recently expanded their available jewelry collection, so I highly recommend stopping in to take a long look before getting poked. Everyone here is very knowledgeable, especially when it comes to piercings, and super friendly. Stephen has helped special order my latest piece and I couldn’t be happier with his recommendations and planning for my up-coming piercing. As tattoos go, I was introduced to this shop from a friend who had a full nerdy sleeve done by Emily. Her color packing and line work on that sleeve is out of this world. She‘s done three tattoos for me now and my husband‘s first tattoo. Over the years I’ve met several people in the LA area that have stepped into this shop for beautiful work and they have all raves about their experiences. I have to say I agree with a strong, “Come here for your next piece!” Because this shop and it’s people are pretty great.

The shop is very clean, staff there is very friendly and the overall vibe is great. I got my dogs portait done by Jim, who has a very light touch. Wont be getting inked by anyone other than Jim from now on. Thanks Jim.

Had the best experience! Went in for a second ear piercing and was so impressed by the place, I decided to get my nose re pierced as well. Elisabeth Sofley was incredible. So knowledgeable, caring and fast. Ive had my piercings for a couple months now and this is the first time I havent had any problems healing. Highly recommend.

FANTASTIC SPOT!! Spontaneously found these guys on a Thursday evening and called for info on a septum piercing. Cat answered with the most friendly voice from any shop I’ve called. Upon arrival, she was so welcoming despite there being a huge rush of walk ins for piercings. It’s not a big studio and there were about 3 other tattoo sessions going on. But Cat took it in stride and treated every one of us like VIP clients. She gave a thorough explanation of the process and let me ask 48 dumb questions that most shops wouldn’t have had the patience to answer. 10/10 highly recommend this place and Cat!!

My daughter wanted her ears pierced for her 7th birthday and Steve was fabulous! He explained the entire process to her and he didn’t do anything until she said she was ready. He was perfect with kids and it was a fabulous experience! The entire process was well done, super clean and enjoyed by all! We highly recommend Steve!!

Beautiful shop, very welcoming! I didnt catch the owners name but he was super cool and friendly. My tattoo artist was Danny Dunbar, also a really cool dude and amazing artist. We covered almost half of my right leg and he was super gentle handled, did perfect line work and was great all around. Couldnt be happier with my tattoo! The whole staff seems to get along really well so the atmosphere is relaxed and fun. Definitely check him out, this is one of the best shops in Socal!

Had a great experience with Elizabeth today. I came in for a flat and a (very) upper lobe, but she took the time to discuss the practicality and aesthetics of what I was aiming to do, and we settled on a (slightly lower) upper lobe and a tragus for now. She is clearly an expert in her craft, and my piercings look perfect. The store also has an amazing selection of jewelry, but I appreciated that they were willing to autoclave and place a Tawapa piece I brought in. I will be back!

Awesome shop! I just needed some help changing out the jewelry in my tragus piercing, and Kat helped me out. She was super nice and very professional; I could tell shes very knowledgeable and experienced. It was super quick, and she didnt charge me anything. She even declined a tip, even though I offered one. Overall, super great vibes from this place! Will definitely be back for any future needs, and I highly recommend them.

Let me start off by saying this is the cleanest tattoo shop Ive ever been in. From the front door to the toilet it was immaculate. Cleanliness is a top priority when youre getting tattooed or pierced and this shop delivers. I had my old earring holes tapered open and jewelry change done by Elisabeth. She was gentle and so professional. Her friendly demeanor extended to my two young children and my husband as she talked through the process so they wouldnt be scared. My ears felt a little spicy for the first days from being tapered but have had zero redness or drainage. My jewelry came from the shop and is the first jewelry not to cause me pain from metal allergies. Ill be going back for more piercings soon and will only ever let Elisabeth provide her amazing services. With her personality and skill I would trust her to pierce my little ones lobes if they want. I recommend Elisabeth and if I could give her 10 stars I would!!

So I went to this tattoo shop 1 year ago to get my little Pizza tattoo. and, well...just look at it! it still holds, looks beautiful, and it genuinely impresses me every time i see it despite it being a pizza. Becky G. was my Artist and she is PHENOMENAL. i have 5 other tattoos and it was by far the least painful as well. Im actually going to be going there from now on, it was so hard to find a place for me and I finally found it! cant wait to go again soon, thank you so much :)

I got a beautiful tattoo last weekend by Emily and love it! First of all, the shop is PIRATE THEMED! So cool. It’s also very, very clean. Second, everyone is very professional and nice. Emily is a talented artist as well as a friendly person who looked out for my comfort throughout the whole process. I had a rough vision of what I wanted, and after sending a few reference photos, she brought my idea to life! Third, depending when you go, you can find parking in the plaza lot next door (rare for this part of town). There is also 2-hour parking on the residential streets behind the shop.

Very happy with our experience with Studio City Tattoo!We were walk ins and they made us feel very welcome and managed to fit us in. We got a helix piercing and a small tattoo between us and are very happy with both our results.Perla did my kids piercing and Jim did my tattoo.If we ever manage to come back to LA well definitely come back to this place!Marv has a challenge to win (find a place with food that Im not allergic to 😂😂😂) and Ill be getting another tattoo for my collection 😍I can dream, right?!Thank you again for making us feel so welcome, everyone.

My first ink session with Joshua Gray! What an amazing experience. Josh was professional with calming demeanor. While my tattoo was relatively simple he did a great job. I would recommend this shop and Josh specifically.

Went here to get my nose piercing on a whim cause we were in the area—BEST experience I’ve ever had. EVER! I got double nostrils while my mom got her helix done. Marv was incredibly funny, nice and overall the best. He really took his time to make sure we were both comfortable with placement and the overall vibe. The entire staff was super friendly and answered all our questions! They have a great jewellery selection and a good amount of affordable ones for those that can’t break out the big bucks for real diamonds. I plan on going back for my septum in January! Overall the best experience I’ve ever had, and I’ve been to a few places which were fine but didn’t have this much personality. They truly act like you’re family there. If you’re ever debating on a piercing GO HERE!

Dillon is an awesome artist to work with! Hes super chill and friendly and made sure I got exactly what I came in for. He sketched out my idea right in front of me, and made a few copies larger and smaller and even flipped the image to make sure I was happy with the design and placement.Everyone in this shop is great to work with, the whole place is clean and friendly. While on vacation, my teenager asked to get his ears pierced.(Hes been asking for a couple years) Upon researching, Ive decided for Studio City.Prior to going, I called to ask some questions and was pleasantly greeted. With all the right answers, we headed out to the shop.Marv was fantastic! He was funny, meticulous , knowledgeable, and professional. His vibe makes you feel at ease.I was impressed how they take safety very seriously. Marv definitely knew how to conduct universal precautions.I highly recommend coming here!

I cannot recommend this place enough, Cat is so patient and understanding. I wanted to match my right nostril piercing with a new left one.I’ve had horrible experiences where i had to be repierced because of lack of patience and understanding and no measuring at all at others shops but this shop blew all of them out of the water. Cat took her time measuring making sure everything worked and i was happy and never once made me feel bad about the experience.Seriously worth the stop. Had a bit of a situation with a Karen asking how much longer i’d be but Cat assured me it’s my body and we can take all the time measuring to make sure everything is well while still remaining professional to the other “ client “ asking for an ETA. Anyways go here you won’t regret it.

I went with a friend to get our ears pierced. There were only six people ahead of us in line, yet it took nearly five hours to get pierced. The jewelry is outrageously expensive, marked up seven times higher than Amazon or other studios (where the same exact jewelry could be found). The ear piercing service was also ridiculously expensive, apart from the jewelry. In total, it cost me $160 to get a single piercing in each ear lobe with basic stainless steel studs. My ears were also pierced so incredibly lopsided, and I went to a second studio for a second opinion, and that piercer looked at my piercings without me mentioning anything about how I felt about them, and he immediately noticed that they were lopsided and that one earring was pierced way too close to my face compared to the other. Overall a horrible experience, I would never recommend this place to anyone, and I certainly will never go back.

We took our 8 year old daughter to get her ears pierced for her birthday, and she was very scared, and took a long time to allow the second ear to be pierced. Steve was absolutely incredible and patient with her, and made sure that she knew that she was in control and could back out at any point. He explained every step of what he was doing, pulled the privacy curtain when other patrons started to encourage her, and made sure she was ready before he did anything! Truly the patience of a saint! If youre bringing young children to get pierced, make sure you bring their school ID and their birth certificate! It is required!

I got my helix piercing yesterday, Marv did an amazing job! Very happy with the product and service. Marv lead me through everything. Read on the reviews that earrings were pricey, but it really matters on the metal of the earring or the stud you choose; I was recommended titanium. The prices for service and product were very reasonable. Barely felt any pain. Thank you!!!!!Marv is Marvelous 💕

I’ve gotten six piercings at Studio City Tattoo from Steve, Marv, and Helena over the past two years, and every single one was a great experience. They’re all so knowledgeable, patient, and nice. Absolutely the best experiences I’ve had getting piercings. They gave me a lot of great guidance about jewelry selection and placement, they take cleanliness and sanitation really seriously, and they’re all very friendly and personable. I really can’t recommend this place highly enough for piercings.The one drawback is that they don’t take appointments and only do walk ins for piercings, and the wait can sometimes be pretty long, so plan to spend 1-2 hours waiting, especially if you go on the weekends or at busy times.

I hadn’t gotten a piercing for 15 years (since my mom pierced my ears when I was young). Marv made me feel so comfortable and welcome and explained everything as he went. He took time to be thorough and sanitize which I appreciated and he even went the extra mile and made a cheap metal helix ring turn gold when I said I preferred that but on a budget. The piercing itself was incredibly fast and wayyyyy less pain than I ever could have imagined. I will definitely be back if I want any more piercings! Affordable, efficient, clean and friendly :)

Elizabeth and Marv helped me pick out some earrings. I wasn’t sure if my ear lobe piercings had closed up and Marv made sure they were open and it wasn’t necessary to re-pierce them. Was super conscious about asking for consent to touch my ears and let me know there might be some redness. 10/10 visit. Would go again.

I got a vertical labret on my bottom lip yesterday and everyone was super nice and helpful. This was my first facial piercing ever. I was kinda scared but it all went away once I stepped inside this place. Their vibes, the decor and the scent inside this place made me feel at peace. An absolutely phenomenal experience! Everyone at the shop is always very nice and professional when I go in. They are clean and sterilize everything which makes going in much more comforting. After a few sessions I left with an amazing tattoo from Danny Dunbar! I will definitely be going back!

I originally found this place from a friend, whom I went with to get some piercings. Everyone was so friendly and so knowledgeable. So much so that I decided to go back for my own piercings. So far, I’ve had 4 piercings done there and each experience has been nothing but seamless and perfect. I don’t remember the name of my first piercer (she was awesome too) but Luna has done three of my four and she is SO great!! She’s the sweetest gentlest most patient piercer I’ve ever had. I recently went back to her to change out some jewelry on the piercings that she did for me a few months ago and she was so kind and patient as I picked jewelry, changed my mind, left then came back again for another switch. I do think the shop is on the pricier side but I’d rather bite the bullet for quality work. I highly highly recommend her! Thanks Luna!

I originally went in to get one tattoo but after speaking to the person who scheduled my appointment I decided to go with another design instead. I really appreciated his honesty and input; not every tattoo shop would risk losing a sale for the customers benefit.The tattoo that I did get is wonderful. Im still so happy to look down at it every time I see it on my arm even ten months later. My experience with the artist was also great. The staff here is great. My teenage daughter wanted to get conch piercing in her ear and they were very patient with her, made sure she was comfortable and that she was getting exactly what she wanted. They did a great job and their pricing was a lot less than I thought it would be. My daughter lives all the way in Spokane, WA and she doesnt want anyone else to do her piercings except for Studio City Tattoo so shes already planning her next trip to LA!!!

Absolutely, 100% happy with my experience at Studio City Tattoo, and more so with my tattoo artist Eli. The shop is clean and tidy, which is a must. I was covering an old tattoo. Eli was very helpful and gave me so many suggestions and advice. We scheduled an appointment and even on the day of I still wasnt too sure what I wanted. Eli was so patient and made a final last minute changes to my design. The outcome of it is absolutely amazing! Ive gotten so many great complements. Way better than I could ever imagine :)

Being from the East Coast and having had tattoos done from New York City Artists, Ive been quite spoiled with good work on myself since the 90s. On my first day in my new LA apartment, I googled Tattoo Los Angeles and the first place I found with rave reviews was Studio City Tattoo. After looking at some pictures, I checked them on Yelp and was also amazed by the amount of 5 stars reviews they had. So I went and booked an appointment for the next day. The owner, Clay, is just the nicest man Ive known so far in this business. Laid back, yet professional.The place is fairly small in appearance, but you can actually get 4 people to be worked on at the same time, since 3 other people were getting tattooed while I was.For the most shy people and the body parts one should keep private, there is a set up with curtain, so I might get my butt done at one point.The room is well thought, wheelchair accessible, and you can park in private lots around and not have any issues. It is clean and organized, you can walk in or set up appointments, and you have 13 artists to choose from. The price was what I expected and pretty much what I paid on the East Coast.Quality is not cheap guys.I highly recommend this place and look forward to get more work done very soon. Whenever someone asks where is a good place to get a tattoo or piercing I direct them to Studio City Tattoo. Ive been here several times and have always had a great experience. The staff is friendly, knowledgeable, and very talented. They are artists. The shop is clean and all utensils are sterilized before use. Everyone I referred has been happy. I highly recommend.

I did a walk in and got my septum pierced on 10/30/19. The process from being talked to about what I wanted done and paying was about thirty minutes. The woman who pierced my septum was also very nice and made sure to ask if I had any additional questions both before and during the process. My biggest complaint is that before my septum had even been pierced for a full day, one of the beads on my jewelry came loose and fell off. I havent had this happen before with the other piercings I have had so its a bummer.Overall, the shop is very unique in its decor style, sanitary, and affordable. Just be sure that your jewelry is tightened!

When I decided I wanted to get a tattoo when I came to So Cal to visit my cousin I did my research and all roads led to Studio City. Excellent reviews, award winning, I said that is where I want to go. I call and make my appointment and when we arrived, I was impressed. I loved the decor and how clean it was. The guys were so nice and so professional. Duff did my piece and gave me an excellent deal on it. I was so pleased and impressed with the job he did and the service I received I have refused to get any more work done until I go back to Cali. See you guys in September! :)

Ive come to Marvin for many ear & dermal piercings over the years. He did 2 chest dermals and I accidentally pulled one out so I went to see if he would pierce it again. He was honest and suggested waiting a few more months to allow it to heal so I decided to do a new dermal under the existing one instead. He always has positive energy & is informative. The dermal piercing was quick and pain was very minimal. I wanted to wait to post a healed photo (its the biggest gem on the bottom) he also did the one above, years ago. These are my favorite piercings, I love how they look.

Friendly and clean atmosphere. I got my tattoo done by Eli, and he talked me through the whole process, since it was my first. The pirate decor is a cool touch, but more importantly, its very clean, and theres a privacy curtain if you dont want to be on display while getting your ink or piercing done. I highly recommend this parlor to anyone in the L.A. area.

I was in town from Wisconsin, and wanted to get a sort of last minute tattoo before heading home. I was a walk in and was treated as if I had an appointment the whole time. My tattoo was very small and simple, yet I was treated as if I had a big detailed piece done. Becky was my artist, and she was affable, patient, and very professional. I felt super comfortable. The next time Im in L.A., I plan on returning to get another piece done.

Everyone was pleasant and incredibly easy to work with at every turn. I brought a few broad ideas/loose inspiration to Jose and received an incredible piece of art that looks like it should have always been there. The shop is clean, professional, and fun; Jose is talented and made my first tattoo a great experience-I couldnt be happier.

First off want to say THANK YOU!!!!!! I LOVE STUDIO CITY TATTOO!!! They are clean and tidy, all single use and disposable set up. I have gotten all my tattoos and piercings here (with the exception of the ones I did my self as a teenager ... not recommended.). Four tattoos done here,two by Jason and the other by Jose. Steve did one of my ear lobe piercings and Helena did my navel. Very friendly and professional. If its your first tattoo I recommend them even more. They have me as a returning client/canvas! My next two tattoos are going to be in October this year and I cant wait!!!!!

I booked my appointment with Jim about a month in advance and it was well worth the wait. He is very talented and accommodating, making communicating what I wanted easy and stress-free. I would go as far as to say the tattoos he gave me are some of my favorites. There’s not enough good things I can say. The interior design is magnificent, the music variety is quite enjoyable, and both the artists and staff are professional, friendly, and not pretentious in the slightest. I would recommend Studio City Tattoo to tattoo veterans and first timers alike.Parking is definitely something you should allocate some time for, but otherwise expect your experience to be smooth sailing and fun!

Fantastic job!! Studio City Tattoo is one of the best tattoo and piercing shops in Los Angeles. Last week I got my ear pierced there. They used special sterilization techniques, I did not have any pain during the piercing. I also bought a beautiful piece of jewelry after my piercing. Their collection was unique and gorgeous. Their staff was creative, friendly and professional. I would definitely recommend them to all. They also had a killer pirate theme!

I cannot express how outstanding my experience at Studio City Tattoo was. I got a third piercing in my left ear lobe, and from the moment I walked in with my sister-in-law (Im from Boston FYI) each person on staff was BEYOND helpful, answering a gazillion questions and making me feel comfortable (I was nervous!). They knew all the tips and tricks for caring for your piercing and gave me information to take home. If I want another piercing, this is the place!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I walked in for a septum piercing in February 2022. Perla did my piercing and it turned out very crooked and was pierced on the hard cartilage in my septum rather then the soft part, leading to an incredibly painful healing process before eventually removing the piercing.Before she brought me back someone had me fill out paperwork and did a very poor job of explaining what I was signing. When Perla brought me back she sat me down, looked at my nose to prep me and mark me. When she was finished with the piercing she frowned at it, but let me pay and leave.I ended up getting it re-pierced by someone very knowledgeable that I found on Tik Tok. They told me that my septum is actually deviated and needed to be pierced a certain way to sit right on my face.Overall, I feel like she should have turned me away when she saw my septum if she didn’t know how to properly pierce someone with my anatomy. I also wish she had told me what happened when all was said and done, with the opportunity to discuss what could be done to remedy the situation.

Super talented artists, have gotten tattooed and pierced here multiple times and I have never received a subpar experience. Definitely recommend!

I went to Studio City Tattoo yesterday for a cartilage piercing, and it was the perfect experience. Right as I walked through the door I was greeted by the kind and wonderful James, who helped me pick out the perfect earring. He even warned me against getting the piercing due to how much I am in the water. Even if there was a chance he would loose my business, he still wanted to make sure that I really wanted it and understood the risks, and I really appreciate that. After I picked out my earring, I waited for about 5 minutes for James to clean everything and make sure everything was completly sterile and ready to go. During my waiting time, I got to listen to the conversation in the room between the artists and the clients, and it was just so welcoming and felt like they had all been friends for years. (hint: ask them how to buy a car for cheap on Halloween, it might save you a few thousand ;)) After the actual piercing (which James helpfully talked me through with “sunshine, rainbows, candy, and gay horses”), James explained to me extensively on how to clean my ear and gave me his contact info if I ever had a question or worries about the piercing. All in all, it was such an amazing and positive experience and James was an absolute pleasure. I would highly recommend Studio City Tattoo 👍🏻

Great vibe, great decor, and AMAZING artists! This is a fantastic place to get a tattoo! The work is world class, and they are fast and reasonable (not cheap; a sign on the wall says it all: A good tattoo is not cheap and a cheap tattoo is not good. This is SO very true, take if from the voice of experience). Really, if youre anywhere near Studio City Tattoo theres absolutely no reason to go anywhere else. I came all the way from Portland, OR to get mine!

Real dope staff I’ve gotten two tats here, more than satisfied both times. Even the front desk person is really cool! She helped point me in the direction of which artist portfolio to check out based on the design.The most recent I went to Joe he was good and went the extra mile to make sure it was perfect. They stick to their initial quotes and don’t surprise you with random charges. I’ll see y’all in December for my next 😈.

I got my nipples pierced here a year ago and it was a great experience. Everyone was nice and welcoming. Everyone was very knowledgeable. I actually came back to the shop because I had some questions and concerns and they answered all my questions which is great. They seem to really care about they clients. Very happy about this place.

Came here a few months ago to get my nipples pierced & they are now fully healed & I love them! My piercer was very respectful & answered all my questions made sure i felt comfortable which means alot under the circumstances lol but definitely recommend them!

I recommend Captain Dave and Emily as they will work with you to create a unique and personal piece of art and they take the time to really listen to your concerns and answer any questions you may have about pain, aftercare, color suggestions or anything. Emily introduced me to Saniderm clear tattoo bandages which helped my new tattoo heal without peeling or itching and the black ink POPS!

I go to school in Virginia, but I wait until breaks to get piercings so that I can get them done here. Absolute best experience Ive had with piercings. The staff is so knowledgable, friendly, and theyre willing to help with anything you need. My favorite thing about James is how honest he is. He will tell you if something is not going to look good or if your ear doesnt have enough room for the piercing. He wont try to make a sale just to get your money; he genuinely wants you to be satisfied with your service. He also has a great eye, and I trust his opinion over my own. They have good quality jewelry, and Ive never had any swelling or infection. Its such a clean, honest, and friendly establishment.

Excellent experience. Very friendly and professional and the best tat shop I have ever been too. The artwork is excellent and I liked my first tat so much from this shop that I went back two days later to have a custom piece done. Captain Dave did both of my tats that I received at this shop and my only regret is that I did not have all of my artwork done at Studio City Tattoo, having several tats done at other shops previously.

The Studio City Tattoo staff is helpful and knowledgeable. They were able and willing to answer my questions before I came in, while I was there and when I called after getting my piercing. Once I thought the piercing had healed I returned to have my ear examined to confirm. The specialist did so and I was on my way. My only qualm is that the wait time (between twenty and thirty minutes) to get my ear pierced was too long.

I love studio city tattoo!! i got my daiths pierced and haven’t had any issue. my piercer was amazing. he was very explanatory and explained everything as he went. i am allergic to latex gloves and he was so used to using them and every time he accidentally touched them he sanitized his hands which i appreciated. decently priced and he gave me all the recommended products for aftercare.

What a great experience. We had a group of 4 trying to get small tattoos. We went in at 11pm and they close at 12am so we were very unsure if we could even get them. After Capt Dave and Craig discussed it they more then happily took us in and got us our newest tattoos . The service was outstanding super nice guys and a great atmosphere for a tattoo shop. Would love to get another tattoo here.

The staff is super nice! Im visiting the city and walked in bc a piercing I got from another shop got snagged on my hair and was bleeding. The cashier was very friendly and kept assuring me that she would be with me in a minute. She was on the phone and helping another customer who was in front of me. Helena (piercer) walked over and asked what I needed and then told me to hop in her chair so she could get a closer look. She cleaned it up and told me how to take care of it... no charge. The experience was so nice that I hated I didnt need more.

Ive had several great experiences with James the piercer. Hes given me advice on everything from jewelry choices, to getting rid of mysterious bumps, to functional romance with an oral piercing. Hes always been very approachable, helpful, and sincerely offered his contact info for any questions. He seems extraordinarily knowledgeable and skilled. Hes the kind of guy youve only met once but feel compelled to send a holiday card to every year.

The folks at Studio City Tattoo gave me my first tattoo. Now, to folks already familiar with getting a tattoo, that might not seem like a big deal, but to me, I wasnt certain what to expect. The atmosphere was thoroughly pirate (fitting for a tattoo shop I think) and the staff all friendly and knowledgeable. Before needle had touched skin I knew exactly what to expect and it was a great experience. The tattoo itself is wonderful, aftercare was clearly explained, and I left in a great mood.While a newcomer to tattoos might find the process of selecting a tattoo shop daunting and intimidating, this is just the perfect little shop. Certainly amongst the top shops on the west coast, and a pleasure to deal with.

I went there and got my daughters name and my nose pierced. I just have to say everybody was very polite and helpful. I love the way my daughters name came out, thanks to Nero! I went back a couple of times because of my nose piercing. However i know anything can happen anytime when getting any work done, but Steve was very helpful each time, and when i thought i would have to give up on my nose piercing Steve helped me through my problem, and now its perfect. i absolutely love my nose and my tattoo, i will definitely be going back this month to get my sleeve! Been going to Studio City Tattoo for years. The staff is super friendly and fun. The shop is super clean and amazingly decorated, makes you feel like you are on a pirate ship.The shop also has an amazing inventory of jewelry. I have bought a bunch of pieces for my wife. I have been to Studio City Tattoo twice for a tattoo and once with my friend when she got a piercing.The first time I went to Studio City Tattoo, I was very hesitant because although I wanted this particular tattoo because I had a poor experience at another tattoo shop. I decided to ultimately go through with the tattoo at Studio City Tattoo, obviously and booked an appointment with Jose. I didnt know much about the shop other than what the reviews Id read had said. When I first got there with my friends, who also had an appointment with Jose, the staff was extremely welcoming and very helpful. One of my friends was getting her first tattoo and it was on her ribs. Jose made sure to have her triple check that the number was right before he even drew it up. He was super kind and very understanding after seeing how nervous she was. I got a tattoo on my upper spine, and he asked me loads of questions including which hand I wrote with because that affects the tattoo being completely centered. He even brought out a ruler and had my friend take a picture of the drawing on my back so I could see how it looked before he started tattooing. After he finished the tattoo, I asked how much it would be to fix my first tattoo, a small treble clef on my wrist. He told me hed do it at no charge, which took me by surprise. Overall, he did a great job breaking down the process and the aftercare and the tattoo I went in for looks great, as does the one he fixed.The second time I went in for a tattoo, I called and schedule an appointment with Emily. I chose to schedule with Emily because whenever Id gone into the shop, I always saw her doing foot and ankle tattoos. When I got there for my appointment, she was extremely nice as well and had the tattoo drawn up and ready to go. She placed it on my foot and immediately began to work after I gave the okay for the size and location. What I enjoyed about the session with her was how calm she was and that she carried a conversation with me while she was tattooing. The two other times Id gotten tattooed, my artists never spoke, and let me tell you, it definitely makes a positive difference. My tattoo healed well and looks amazing. The line work is amazing and I receive compliments about it all the time.The shop is also very, very clean and the artists are very good at explaining the process and aftercare, and they never seem like they are in a rush, which is also great because you feel like a top priority the moment you walk in. I definitely recommend it and will definitely go back for any future work I may want to get done.

When you call them they answer all your questions, when you go inside they all greet you and make sure youve been helped with whichever it is youre there for. I went in for a tattoo by a guest artist Cal Adams and it was an amazing tattoo, for it being my first he made me feel at ease with it all of it and the other artists also were pretty friendly so that helped me completely enjoy my experience I never felt judged one bit and I didnt at all feel uncomfortable during any moment I was get tattooed.

I was so desperate when i came into this fabulous shop, I did not know if they were able to take my piercings out. My Monroe was stuck and i could not get it out. The only way was going to a doctor which will be at least 500$$ or more.. But my friend told me about Studio City Tattoo & Body Piercing and i went there to see if they could do anything for my situation. And STEVE did an AMAZING JOB!!! He did not even hurt me. Went in today to get my very first tattoo, and I had emailed the artist prior to the appointment with what I had in mind. When I showed up, I met with Danny Dunbar, a super cool and collected dude who made the whole process so much better. He showed me his sketch for the design on his ipad, then showed me a few examples of others works that he would go off of for the shading of the tattoo. Danny was very easy to talk to, and definitely understood that the pain comes and goes, especially for a first timer like myself. Overall, he did an amazing job, and I love the piece! If youre looking to get your first tattoo or a tattoo in general, Danny is your man!The shop was very clean overall, and every employee had a great attitude. The shop overall provided a very calm setting -I distracted myself from the tattooing process by just listening to everyones conversations - I felt like I was in a movie scene. Time flew, and before I knew it the process was over. I highly recommend this shop, and Ill definitely be going back in the future!

I went here to get my nose pierced and i was TERRIFIED. Once i got there the staff was really comforting and friendly the piercer did a great job! so quick and painless!!! It healed so well and now i can change my stud to a hoop easily anytime!

Study City is the absolute best tattoo shop in the city. I send every one of my friends here when they’re looking for an artist! My fiancé and I and multiple friends have had awesome experiences. The artists are experts and the shop is extremely clean.

Nice people but didn’t seem interested in helping me and my friend. I called in advanced to see if they did appointments and they told me only walk ins and that it wasn’t busy. So we go in and she seemed super sketch about us, didn’t seem interested in our tats, and told us there were all of a sudden a lot of people ahead of us. She grabbed our names and tattoo ideas, as well as my phone number, and told us she’d call back within an hour and she never did. Lame! Go to Glendale Ink. We went there afterwards and got us in right away! Cool guys, great work, and very friendly!

This place is very professional and their energy is really great.Anytime is a good time to get a tattoo there, they also have wonderful different jewelry selections.You want to go when its the most fun then go on talk like a Pirate Day!

I will never go back to this shop ever again. Very rude and disrespectful staff. Not professional at all. Went in for some piercing jewelry and with the many employees looking like they were not doing much I was told to wait outside by the heavy traffic on ventura even though they had chairs set up inside for people. So I went outside, and waited. And waited. And then three new customers arrived and went in and sat in the seats inside, so i went inside to sit in the last empty seat I saw open and was immediately asked to go back outside and wait on the street with the noise and the gas fumes and even how they talked to me was rude. I will never endorse or help this business and honestly I hope they shut down and fail. Bad Employees! And i was gonna spend quite a bit on what I wanted. And their tattoo work looks mediocre at best. Definitely stay away from this place if you want to be treated well and get good service and quality products.

I had the great pleasure of visiting the shop recently and got a tattoo that was better than what i had in mind. Whilst all of the team were extremely friendly and helpful, a big thank you to Capt. Dave for not only doing my tattoo but for spending a lot of time going through what i wanted and redrawing several times until I was 100% happy...and he was more than happy to do so. If I am ever in L.A. again, you can be sure this is one of the first shops I will be visiting to add to my existing ink.

The first person I asked said studio city tattoo, and so did the second and they highly recommended it. Love my tattoo, and now I definitely recommend here as well.

Got an ear piercing from Helena, and I loved her! Was a bit nervous of the pain but she made it so quick and easy! Everything felt very safe and clean. Can’t wait to go back and get more!

Prior to my scheduling my appointment at Studio City Tattoo, I looked online at several different tattoo shops websites and read reviews / looked at pictures. I was very pleased with what everyone had to say about Studio City Tattoo, and loved several of the artists work pictures posted online. I had a great feeling about this shop from that alone, and gave them a call. I couldnt have made a better choice. When calling, the guy who answered the phone, (sorry, I dont know who it was!) he was very polite and scheduled a consultation with Mike.When I came into the consultation, I brought in a rough draft of the tattoo idea I wanted, placement, size, etc. He made a copy ... and from the rough draft he came up with something absolutely gorgeous! It was something way more amazing than what I was even imagining.This was my second tattoo, the largest piece on me (so far)! Mike was extremely polite, professional and sterile with all the tools. I felt completely confident and comfortable my entire session. The detail he put into my tattoo was completely incredible, and wish I was staying in California longer to get more work done by him.Im returning tomorrow actually so he can fix my first tattoo (after the work he did, I instantly was disappointed with my first tattoo!). That one wasnt done here, so keep that in mind reading this review. It was done in a shop in Portland, Oregon.If I do return to California after this trip for any reason I would 100% without a doubt return back to this shop, no questions ask. Everyone there is really polite, friendly, professional and the shop is clean! Im happy I made the choice in coming to this shop, and I hope whoever is reading this will too!Thanks, SCT!

Ive been going to this shop for years and Ive watched it grow.I have always been treated like family. The tattooing just keeps getting better and better! I recently got tattooed by a guest artist from England(They have a lot of guests artist visit though out the year) Thanks Cal for the great work. I am getting so many great comments from my friends. I will see you next time youre in town.

Myself and a friend came here because of the great reviews this shop received on not only google reviews but also Yelp. However, these reviews could not be farther from the truth. Our piercer was clearly inexperienced and none of the other shop attendants bothered to correct them.First, this piercer did not follow sanitary procedures. Right before piercing my friend and I, while wearing sanitary gloves, this piercer continuously was texting on their phone. After they finished using their phone, they did not change their gloves, instead they went straight to touching the “sterilized jewelry” and needle to begin the piercing. In addition to touching a phone, mind you one of the most unsanitary things you could touch before working with someone’s body, this piercer also did not change their gloves in between my friend and I’s piercings. There was visible blood on her gloves from my friend’s piercing.Next, this piercer was clearly inexperienced. This piercer did not know the correct size jewelry when asked. They pierced us with jewelry that was too large for my friend, after my friend had repeatedly asked for a smaller size. Then when the piercer pierced me, they used a size that was way too small, and now the jewelry is cutting into my skin after swelling. When I asked why the jewelry was so small after, they assured me that it would be fine.Lastly, we were not told what kind of metal was used to pierce us. When we asked them at the end what was used, they told us “it’s the standard”.In hindsight, we should have left this shop after all the red flags we encountered. However we felt the need to write this review to make sure no one else goes through an experience like this.

I have never gotten a tattoo here, but I just got my ears pierced - super simple, small project, but they were so nice and accommodating about it.Price and service were impeccable. Staff was great. A++

I went in to get a piercing and the young lady at the front counter was very welcoming and informative. Steve is a great piercer, he explained every step as he was performing it. The experience was absolutely positive and comfortable, I will definitely be coming back.

I got two tattoo there(one 3 years ago and one less than a year ago) and absolutely love them, The place is VERY clean, they are very great and the quality of Ink is good as well.They give you good advise as well(if the tattoo you want is good or not in different sizes)I was lucky that I found them in Yelp for the first time!

Wow, where do I even begin??? So, my brother and I have always wanted to get tattooed together but we have never lived in the same city. We decided to meet in LA to get tattoos and we made appointment at Studio City. Little did we know, theyve opened a new shop during this weekend and some artist for double booked. They called us, told us what was happening and STILL made it work (thank you for doing the legwork on that Bridgette, you rock)! So, we were still able to get our tattoos done by Joe Savva and Capt Dave, two amazing human beings with crazy good talent. Ive fallen in love with this place and would gladly fly back down from San Francisco again to get more work done. Thank you all and thanks for the shirts!!

Super disappointed with my visit this evening. Showed up as things were also picking up at the shop, a little before 6 pm. With one person ahead of me, I was told it would be 45 mins to an hour wait before my turn. While that did seem a bit long, I was willing to wait. Flash forward to 7:10pm. The person in front of me was JUST sitting down to start their piercing. No paperwork had been given to me, nor had I been able to select any jewelry. Other customers who came in after me were able to see the piercer without wait (both were not getting piercings but were having some checked out) even though I was told it was first come first serve. With who knows how much time left to watch the piercer chat it up with that one person STILL in front of me, time to fill out the paperwork, select jewelry and then have it sanitized, I was looking at at least another 20-30 mins at least.While I get that these things aren’t easy to estimate, the fact that there was literally no care to how long I’d been waiting is what upsets me the most. If I had seen you trying hard to get everything done or if the whole first hour wasn’t spent outside the shop/in the bathroom, I would get it. But this shop literally did not care. Obviously there were a bunch of people in line behind me and this shop won’t be hurting without my money but I will not be returning to a place where I do not feel valued or appreciated.

There are probably hundreds of tattoo parlors within driving distance of my house, and when I was looking into getting my first tattoo I must have visited half of them. I even went to Ink n Iron, which was an amazing time but not exactly fruitful. A little excessive, maybe, but I was paranoid, and there was no way I was going to get something permanently etched onto my arm that I didnt absolutely love. Except I came across artists, often, who made me feel like an idiot for that, or insisted I show them a picture to copy, exactly, refusing to do the concept in their own style. Which seemed pretty odd to me; if I wanted someone to trace somebody elses design onto my skin, I could go anywhere.Studio City Tattoo had not only the artist I wanted (William Doolittles work is absolutely stunning), but a great many others who were all incredibly friendly when I came into the shop, and more than willing to answer questions or help in any other way they could. I set an appointment, and after consulting over email about the general shape I wanted (mjolnir, Ill try to add a picture here later) I came in to an absolutely amazing design.Ive only got the one tattoo for now, but it hardly hurt at all, and came out crisp and bright. I love it, I get compliments often, and I could hardly have asked for a better experience.One quick thing- the shop, while amazing (the pirate theme really drew me in), is a little hard to park at on busier days. I found it was easier to get dropped off for the day of the appointment, but if you dont, just plan a little extra time to look for a spot.

Everyone here was really incredible. It was super clean and chill and professional but laid back at the same time. I designed a custom tattoo for my boyfriend and wanted to get a rose for myself. we got them on the same day, and it was both our first tattoos. I ended up fainting and getting sick and the guys here were so cool and helpful and allowed me to laugh about it with them instead of making me feel bad about it. Plus both the tattoos came out even more beautifully than I could ever imagine. Every day that we can show them off we get compliments and I have referred them to anyone in California to go to them. Even today (this is an honest to goodness story) I was at work and was Working with a bunch of kids and there was this 6 yo girl who was really sad and after talking with and consoling her I found out her favorite flower is a rose, and I pulled up my sleeve to show her my rose tattoo and she instantly felt better and touched it and was so happy afterwards. Honestly, Im sad Im no longer in CA and I know that when I go back, I will definitely be going to them to get my next tattoo.

I got my tattoo May 2018. I did a bit of research before I went and knew I wanted Eli to do my tattoo. He didn’t take weekend appts at the time, so I walked in on a Saturday. I had to wait for a few hours because he already had a client, but Studio City Tattoo kept in touch and let me know when Eli was free. I had a simple tattoo idea and it didn’t take long for Eli to come up with an idea that I loved and then get to work on it. I am VERY pleased with how it turned out and will be going back to him for sure.

Studio City Tattoo is the best! From superior artists to a fun theme at the shoppe..I am super happy with my tattoos. (Yes theyve done all 3 of mine!) I wont hesitate to recommend this place to my friends or anyone looking for a great place to get inked.

I went into Studio City Tattoo on my birthday because I wanted to give myself something unusual (it was my first tattoo). The place was clean and everyone there was nice and very professional. I wanted a typographic tattoo and it turned out absolutely AWESOME. Now I am thinking of getting another tattoo and I would definitely recommend this tattoo studio :-)

Everyone knows Studio City Tattoo does the best work in L.A. All my friends go here and I am working with William Doolittle on a design right now. Im super picky but theyve been very helpful & this is the cleanest studio Ive ever seen. I cant wait to get the work done this week.

Very professional and patient team here! I came here for my first tattoo and Becky G was the artist. She was pleasant to work with and patient with me. The music in the shop is also very eclectic.

These people are so smart!! I was having a piercing crisis on the east coast when no piercers around me were open and I randomly searched for piercers in Cali and they were able to answer my question and help me out immensely. 10/10 recommend them because they know what they’re talking about!

Very small space but friendly staff. I went with a friend to get his first piercings. The jewelry was fairly priced and everything seemed very clean. They did have a good selection of jewelry to choose from as well.

So, I typically get pierced by Steve, and he’s been the best...but today I took my 16 year old to get backs for his earrings and Steve wasn’t there...but Marv helped us out, and I couldn’t just leave without somethin...so I trusted Marv to do a kickass job, and he did. One of the best piercings of my life, sorry Steve...haha ;) nothin but love you you. Always classy, guys.

Loved it here . After researching all over for a tattoo shop, I decided to get my first one done here . I was freaking out but the guys inside were all super nice & professional & made me feel comfortable and calm . The vibe inside is not pretentious at all and all the artists are super patient. In love with my new ink .

Tried to buy a few nose rings because i had just lost mine. The girl outside is nice and all but has no customer service skills. Couldn’t give me a straight answer as to why i wasn’t allowed to just buy a piercing. Her excuse was other people came and bought theirs and tried returning it and after they couldn’t they wrote bad reviews... i said i wouldnt return them and she said she could still not help me. It felt like she just didn’t want to serve me, i just dont know why. Its ok though, good thing you guys are so scared of a bad review you rather refuse service to certain patrons.You can simply have a STRICT NO RETURN POLICY.Very Disappointing.

Small and well curated atmosphere, fairly priced and quality artists. I really enjoy the flash art gumball machine as well. I walked for a small lettering tattoo and @joesavvatattoos knocked it out of the park in a quick and very professional manner. I will be returning for more work.

This place is dope. I got a tattoo that required a lot of precision because it had a lot tiny details... the tattoo itself could not have came out anymore perfect. First I had to wait for 1.30 min to get the piercing because the chairs were busy. I was already worried because I didnt know what to expect. I asked many questions until I could get some straight answers and I guess I annoyed the front girl ( she was already not in a best mood from the beginning). At the end my piercing came up crooked. May be she didnt like me or she had a bad day but I suffered because of the unprofessional work. It looks stupid. I went there because of the good reviews but I ended up paying 100$ for this crooked piercing which gets on my nerves every time I look at it.

Ive gone to a couple tattoo & piercing shops before and none of them compare to Studio City tattoo. Its one of the few shops with a sanitary working space, high quality needles, ink and metal for piercings and most importantly friendly artists whom Ive had interesting conversations with aswell as close connections.

Possibly the best Ive ever seen. Got a somewhat complex piercing that healed faster than any Ive had before. Also had to return after a hospital trip for help reinserting the ring, which they did without charging. Fantastic service and tons of experienced staff.

Great artists and helpful team. I walked in to make an appointment and was able to get a tattoo that day because of a cancelation. Matched my design with the right artist- highly recommended!

Got a nose piercing here for my 17th birthday and when I tell you it did not hurt I mean it! And it was my first time getting anything pierced so I expected something. My eyes didnt water and its been about a month since I got it and have no irratation so far because they were so good on telling me how to clean it. They do walk ins and the piercing came out cute as hell.

I was L.A for vacation (well over due grad present to be exact) back in July and this was our first destination on our road trip through Cali. these guys were just up the road from the Holiday Inn and my sister and I who already have tattoos managed to convince our aunt and mother to get one, with the agreement itd be a family piece. so we did a design and called them up, Not only were they friendly and polite on the phone, as we got in there, they talked to each and one of us on where and what colors we wanted to get it right, showed us every color ink they had and let us choose, and teased my aunt a little who was getting very nervous to help her lighten up.As I was getting mine done, I tend to look away (fear of needles yet I had 2 large tattoos done previous) Jose who was doing the tattooing was talking with me, and I eyed his steam punk looking gun and we got into talking about the steam punk cons and Abney park!!Someones else review on here was complaining about it being an open store, no privacy and everyone can see you, I enjoyed it, I got to talking to a nice gentleman whom seemed like a regular in their shop and his girl friend who was getting a tribal sea turtle on her hip, got to talking to them told me their experience there and I got to talking to the girlfriend (I think her name was Renee) and she runs a belly dance troop on the Queen Marie, so not only did I get to chat up the artist and everyone there but I met a fellow belly dancer!these guys are great, their shop is very well themed and majority of them were made by customers or film curators (I remember Jose telling me one sword on the wall was made by the guy who made the Brave heart sword)If I could afford to fly back there from Michigan I would in a second!

Got my daith piercing here. Piercer was good, knowledgeable but I felt pressured to buy their jewelery even though I had two of my own to choose from and was told I could not use them.I ended up buying a heart shaped ring, which several months later, I was not able to remove in order to put in one of my own rings. I had to use wire cutters to cut it off.

Wow! I rarely leave a 1-star review of any business because I know most really do try. But Im just floored by the terrible service we received here. We didnt even get to the point where they could take our money. We waited for nearly 2 hours with literally no communication with anyone in the shop from the moment we sat down to wait. In that time, we watched others who walked in after us get taken care of for work far more time intensive than what we were there for. Worse, it was very obvious to us we were being completely ignored. Im sure they do great work, but Id rather give my money to businesses that care about their customer service. We wont be returning.

Symmetrical jewelry, cool people, awesome shop

I think I started coming here back in 2005 or so for their Talk Like A Pirate Day festivities. I ended up with three tattoos that day. I’ve gotten several more from here over the years and am already planning future pieces. The facilities are clean, and the shop is a Piratical haven. The artists are mind-blowingly talented and willing to work with you to achieve your dream piece. They do take walk-ins, but do yourself a favor and browse the artist portfolios online to see if a specific artist’s skills call out to you and then make an appointment. Hmmmm... now I’m kind of wanting to get my next piece that much sooner...

Wanted to buy 1/2” gauges, the place is first come first serve, there was about 4 people ahead of me. It was probably going to take me 2 minutes if that, i already knew what i wanted. I waited for 30 minutes and decided to walk away since they refused to help me in between people who were waiting to get pierced. The front desk girl was just sitting there and said she was not allowed to handle the jewelry. Horrible customer service. Wasting people’s time

All my ink has been done at SCT, mostly by Jose (the best!). This shop may be tiny, but its very clean and well organized. The staff here are nice and very laid back people. If youre looking for a place to get a piece done, I recommend you check this spot out.

They advertised specializing in realistic tattoos but when I got there and showed them a simple rose I wanted, one of the artists completely talked it down it was dead set against it and tried to convince me to get more of a cartoon style which was heavily outlined in Black. His explanation was that the black carbon would help the tattoo from fading. I understand this point and respect his opinion. But then he proceeded to go off about the new school of tattoo artists who do realistic tattoos that are only good for photos but never last. And basically thats when I walked out. Why advertise for something that you dont do?

This place is awesome!Jason tattoo my rib with my daughter name, he took he’s time to try and match same written style to an existing tattoo I had.The results are beautiful.Will definitely recommend studio city tatto!

Capt. Dave at Studio City Tattoo is really, really good! Hes definitely worth booking an appt. with. I got impatient and had some minor work done with someone else...BIG mistake. Ive actually called Dr. Tatt Off to see about removing the work, and using Capt. Dave to properly tattoo me again. The atmosphere is chill, the people working there are chill, Studio City Tattoo is worth the visit. Trust me...ask for Capt. Dave.

I wanted to get a septum piercing with my friend. I’ve been here before and thought they were decent but changed my mind when the lady on the phone had a rude tone in her voice then proceeded to say under her breath that I need a proof of vaccination to enter even though you can still get covid with or without a vaccine… lmao. So if i go in with proof but i’m positive for covid it’s okay as long as i have proof of vaccination. That’s not logical. She said it so low too so I can barely hear it in hopes i’d come in and she could kick me out.

I have gotten two tattoos from SCT and I am going back for more in June. The shop itself is awesome and the artists are phenomenal. When I was first looking for a shop in the LA area, all the top rated, well known shops had average artists and even some of the big shops had tattoos in their portfolios that made me cringe. Some how I found SCT after a few days of searching since they are not very internet famous (yet). I was blown away by the artists portfolios. I knew I wanted to get my tattoo done there, but the biggest struggle was picking one single artist to do it. Dana did an awesome photorealistic tattoo and William did an awesome job on my nu-traditional tattoo.Long story short, go here. Unless you want a crappy tattoo, then go to some other place.

I absolutely LOVE this place! The artists are amazing, the shop is kept well above the highest standards, and the entire staff just has a way of making you feel so welcome....plus, who doesnt love Pirates? (The pirate themed decor is outstanding!)
