Absolutely in love with my tattoo. Phillip does amazing work and is great at bringing your ideas to life. I threw together some different sketches that all have a meaning for me. I told Phillip to have fun I just wanted it water color and let’s say I am glad I let him do that. 10/10 recommend him to everyone. I travel from Savannah, GA to have him do all of my work.

Mary-Lou is the best. Shes funny and skilled at her art. Shes the only person I go see for tattoos anymore and I wouldnt have it any other way!

I came in as a walk in and wanted something small but the artist was so kind to show me other options that I really enjoyed, I gave the artist free reign to the shading and highlights and I’m obsessed with how it turned out. Costumer service was excellent and everyone who works here is so kind and supportive of eachother. The energy in this shop is lovely. I can already see a future coming here for all my tattoos. They got through 3 people very quickly but so efficiently. Prices are definitely worth it! Don’t miss out, go to black water🖤

This place is amazing! I did a walk in on one of their busiest days with my boyfriend and his sister and they made us a priority and got us in with little wait! I went before and it was amazing too with little wait as well! So far, Phil and Chelsey have done my tattoos and they are both very talented as well as everyone there! The pricing is also amazing! I googled walk-in shops near me and this was the first place to come up. I saw they had great reviews and checked out their artists before deciding to go to the shop. Definitely glad I went with them, super chill and welcoming staff. Everyone was nice and more than open to making the changes I wanted for the sketch. Definitely will be coming back. Chelsea did my service today and was great! The pictures honestly doesn’t do it justice, hard angle to get a good photo of myself haha.

Never have they let me down! Amazing artist and amazing work. The environment is so welcoming and fun. When you walk in you’re greeted with a smile and enthusiasm. Very clean and well lit, it really puts you at ease. Phil is an absolute rockstar and so much fun to be tattooed by! If you’re on the fence don’t be jump over and enjoy the fun!

The whole experience was great for my first tattoo. Phillip was professional, courteous, and an amazing artist! Everyone there is very nice and came over to talk during the tattoo process. I’ve been going to Black Water for over 2 years. The owner Phil is a great guy. They are always nice & welcoming when you come into the shop. They are usually pretty booked up, but always work on getting you fit into the schedule in a timely manner. They are one of the most reasonably priced shop in the low country especially considering how talented all the artist are. I highly recommend checking out this shop.

Whole thing took 30 minutes over all great experience the Artist that did mine was Philip he was great made it very comfortable front desk lady was very knowledgeable just overall a really welcoming environment I’ll recommend Philip he’s the man!!

This is the best Tattoo establishment. Their prices should be raised to match the level of artistry, talent, and professionalism. I will never take my business elsewhere. Love these guys and gals. Philip did memorial tattoos for me and my siblings. We had a custom idea that he brought to life. He was very sympathetic throughout the entire process and the tattoos came out amazing. Me and my wife got our 17th Anniversary Tats here. The artist was great! It was my wifes first and she was awesome with her. We had trouble with the on site ATM and the owner was very sympathetic and helped me navigate getting it straight and all is well. I would definitely recommend this establishment to anyone!

Phillip did my tattoo and is great. I got something simple this time and he freshed up a 12 year old tatt. I had seen his work before when he tatted my ex-husband a few years ago so I had no problem trusting him with mine. Ill be coming back to him for another soon. Everyone was so chill and looked happy to be at work. Ive also been tattooed by Alana. She is really nice and very talented.This studio always has amazing staff and individuals. They will be honest and if they feel they need more time to plan your tatt, they will let you know. Instead of throwing something together for a quick buck.

I happened to stumble into this shop 2 years ago when I was visiting from Ohio, after I moved here I refuse to go anywhere else. Phillip is a great artist that will take your idea and make it into a masterpiece. I’ve now gotten a half sleeve on my arm and a half sleeve on my leg from Phillip and everywhere I go people ask who did them. It’s hard to find a consistent tattoo artist but this shop is full of them.

I’ve had a couple walk-in tattoos done at this shop before when it was known as Artistic Ink and wasn’t entirely impressed by the work. However, after the rebranding and following Phillip’s work for a while, I finally decided to go in and discuss a potential tattoo. He set me up with Chelsea and she did an absolute kickass job today on my tattoo. It was better than I could have even imagined and working with her was so easy. She’s such a sweet human and brought my idea to life. Will 100% be doing business with them again in the future.

I moved to SC having had many tattoos done in the past, and I looked at a lot of different artist’s portfolios throughout Charleston and the surroundings areas before booking with Codie at BlackWater Tattoo. I was so impressed by the talent and friendliness of the staff that I have already returned multiple times for different tattoos. When people ask me what my favorite tattoo I have is, I gladly tell them it was done at BlackWater Tattoo!
