Man i love this shop

Had a really weird experience here a couple years ago where the guy who did my piercing let me walk out still bleeding. I would have been 20 or so at the time, at least 2 years older than I needed to be to get a piercing on my own. I was asked about 4 different times if my ID was really me, and whether it belonged to an older sister (I am the only girl and the oldest in my family, as I told the two guys who kept passing the ID back and forth and side-eyeing me). I totally understand checking thoroughly, but the way they spoke to me felt really condescending and unfriendly. The one piercing me also seemed to find it weird that I was nervous to get the piercing, which I find odd because as a piercer I would think youd understand that plenty of people are nervous to have a needle put in them even if they have many other piercings as I do. But the worst part was that he let me walk out to my car still bleeding. The guy who did the piercing had a whole conversation with me about after care at the door, in which he obviously would have seen the giant drip of blood running down my ear, and yet he said nothing. I got to my car and looked in the mirror and it was bloody from the piercing location on my upper cartilage down to my earlobe, I had nothing to clean it with in my car and didnt want to go back in after such a weird experience so I just drove home like that. I was really sad because I had gone here before to get my nose done and had a great experience with a different, younger guy. I mentioned this to the one who pierced me and he chuckled as if the young guy was gullible for not doubting my real age. :/

This place is honestly the best place I’ve been too‼️I got my first ever tattoo done here and let me just say I’m very happy I chose this place and would highly recommend to anyone who is planning on getting their first tattoo,Or just coming in, the staffs are really cool and are really laid back and it’s nice and clean inside, along with good music they play Lol, really enjoyed this place and was really happy to get my tattoo done here.Thank you to Ana my tattoo artist and the one who helped me through the pain and all LOL

Terrible first impression, I’ll never go back. Simple tattoo, I was told “No” from one artist. The artist who worked on me, couldn’t even hold a conversation, was more concerned about what to play on the tv. Charged an insane amount of money for something I could’ve done for way less.

This is the second time I’ve walked in without an appointment for a tattoo and was greeted by a wonderful friendly staff happy to help. I was able to be tattooed by Fiona both times and she was amazing! I don’t live locally anymore but will for sure be planning future tattoos on my trips to town. My friend was helped by Jeremiah for her very first tattoo and he was so helpful and friendly. I would absolutely recommend seeing either of them for your next tattoo!

The shop was clean and free of clutter. The artists seemed to have tidy, assigned work stations. The shop (like many others in the area) advertises walk-ins welcome but the reluctance that the artists convey results in extremely long wait times with a number of available artists.My artist ended up being Jesse Ortega who did a great job front and center on my left bicep with a 3 1/2 x 3 1/4 black ink design. The line work is fairly crisp and the saturation is on par. He offers free retouching within a reasonable time from the initial application. The tattoo took about an hour and I was charged $200.He did one side of two of my girlfriends fingers, as well. He was reluctant to tattoo fingers and added that normally retouching would be free but since they are fingers (I have my hands and fingers all tatted) they are more likely to reject or otherwise not hold the ink so well. He quoted her retouch to be $100. This tattoo took approximately 40 mins and I was charged $200.All in all, I do believe that this is a decent shop with fair local market pricing (I am used to paying hourly - I have over 50 unique tattoos from shops coast to coast).

THEY KEEP DELETING MY REVIEW!Got my ears pierced in early 2019 by a guy that referred to himself as Johnny Cash. He made me bleed and stated that he had only made one other person bleed in the past. He did not apologize. Once it was time to checkout, the card reader was not working. He then had the audacity to ask me if I actually had any money on my debit card. He asked me to hand over my iPhone while I went to an atm to take out cash.

Very professional experience. Jesse Ortega is a great tattoo artist. I felt right at home. I highly recommend Famous Tattoo.

I came there undecisive between Monroe or Madonna. Asking Johnny for his advice, he was able to answer without hesitation. The place alone is clean and nice. The staff were helpful, and I was able to get in and out of there. With Johnnys experience, he never used any pliers and no pain at all! Thank you again Johnny and Famous tattoo piercing shop, I will return soon for a tattoo this time!!!

I went to get my snakebites and my piercer, Juls, was incredibly friendly and made me feel super comfortable throughout the entire experience. My piercings were done quickly, accurately, and far less painful than I was expecting. The shop itself was very clean and well kept and the staff were all very friendly and helpful. I highly recommend anyone who wants a piercing to go to Famous Tattoo, I promise you won’t regret it!

Called ahead of time to see if they weren’t busy for a nose piercing (was in a time crunch) they said yes, I came 10 minutes later when no one was in the shop. 2 girls come in for piercing after me after I’ve already been sitting for 10 minutes. He skips me twice and takes both of them before me, ended up taking me an hour just to get a simple nose piercing. And like I said we were the only ones in the shop it is not hard to tell who came in first, and we were all walk in. 50 minute wait 5 minute piercing !

Went to Famous in Ventura to get my ears pierced. Was really nervous since it was my first piercings ever but Johnny was fantastic! He made the whole process quick and easy. Also Jesse was very helpful! Would definitely recommend Famous Tattoo for your piercing needs!

Went to famous tattoo for a cartilage piercing as I had been hearing good things about the shop and thought I would give them a try. Johnny was nice and welcoming and super knowledgeable! I really appreciated the education and commitment to safe piercings that heal properly. He was polite and answered my many questions, much appreciated and recommend highly! the shop was a little slow in getting to me but I didn’t make an appointment so it was to be expected.

I got my tattoo done by Phillip and he was amazing! He made me feel comfortable and welcome and he has great attention to detail and has a passion for what he does. The shop was very clean and everyone there seemed very nice and would go back and recommend it to everyone who is getting tattoos or piercings.

Walked in with 2 of my friends to get last minute tattoos. Got help right away. Caine was fun and easy to work with. My last minute flash tattoo turned out so cute. We all got tattoos in under 2 hours. Pretty impressive work.

We came here to get piercings and everyone was super nice and easy to talk to. The guy at the front was Knowledgeable and nice, and the piercer was very friendly and made both of us feel super comfortable and did a great job with our piercings!

Was introduced to Bobby via Instagram. He was quick with booking, super detailed and listened to exactly what I wanted out of a tattoo! Prices are extremely reasonable. I got a piercing removed. The guy was professional and well educated on what he was doing. Its been a couple weeks and you cant even tell I ever had a piercing to begin with so Im very happy. The place is clean and well organized so overall I couldnt have asked for anything more.

I went in to get my ear pierced (tregus) I like my piercing and everything is good so far. The place was clean (except for a little bit of ants) and the people were very nice however, I couldn’t give 5 stars due to a couple of reasons. 1. I paid $90 and that was after a $10 vip discount, so it would’ve been $100. I don’t mind paying for quality but I think $100 for one ear piercing is still a bit pricey ( just my opinion). 2. There was zero earring selection!!! All they had was the metal ball and you can either get it in stainless steel or titanium (for $20 extra) this was a huge bummer for me but I was already sitting and prepped for piercing so I just said whatever, and went with it. Aftercare instructions were somewhat vague but this wasn’t an issue for me as I do have some experience caring for piercings. Also, no cleaning solution was provided. From my experience you always get a cleaning solution, either complimentary or it’s included in the price of the piercing (especially if the prices are high). All in all it wasn’t a bad experience so I did give a tip.

Took my daughter here for her first tattoo as a walk in. Alma was great! Awesome work, very friendly & attentive. The shop is clean and thier service is outstanding. Highly recommend Famous Tattoo and Alma. We will be returning here for future work.

The piercer Betsy pierced my daughter cousin and girlfriend. I thought it was funny when they were in pain. She did a great job and was very thorough with instructions . Very professional and I would definitely reccomend this tattoo shop. The owner Johnny came out and greeted us to make us feel welcome.

Asked for 3 little designs on my fingers, off of google. Dude misplaced the stencil and redid it and it was a big mess. The tattoo looked nothing like i wanted. When he finished tattooing my hand, he didnt even clean it up and told me i can keep a napkin. Worst experience ever.

The atmosphere was great. But fiancee and I got a septum piercing and his came out pretty good. Slightly crooked but not too bad. Mine on the other hand came out really badly and super noticeably crooked. Im very upset cause it was a piercing Ive wanted for a very long time. Plus side though didnt really hurt for me. Going back in soon to get it fixed.

Went in for a walk in appointment and Jon did an amazing job! Poor guy had to deal with my nervous babbling, hahaha. It was my first tattoo and he helped me through it.Everyone in the shop was fun to chat with too!

I drove a little under an hour to come get a bellybutton piercing before they closed. I had arrived very close to closing to find out their piercer had left only a few minutes before. The staff made the effort to call and get him back. Despite leaving for personal issues, he came all the way back after hearing about our long drive. Great prices Monday-Wednesday only paid $30 which included jewelry. I was quoted anywhere from $60-80 at other places. Piercer was very professional, joked with me after i expressed my anxiety, and gave me a pack of Oreos after because i was feeling a bit dizzy. The piercing is straight, only a small pinch, walked me through the steps of what he was doing, and it is healing well! I will definitely be returning!

Told us every artist had a different pricing, didn’t hive us any type or price till after our tattoo was finished, 3 little lines less then an inch big. Cost us each $120 dollars. Never come here unless you’d like to be ripped off and not given any information until after it’s time to pay. Worst experience of my life.

I actually was one of the very first people Jesse (jessexgems) did a tooth gem on me and let me tell you!i has the tooth gem for a year and a half and it never fell off until recently ! Pls if you ever get a tooth gem go to her she makes you feel comfortable and knows what she is doing! Ima be going to her again for more gems soon

I just got my nose pierced here 2 days ago and the piercer did a great job! I highly recommend for anybody who is looking to get a piercing (or a tattoo of course). Super clean place and nice people! My piercing is doing great.

My first tattoo, was nervous but read the reviews on this place and gave it a shot. Couldnt be happier with how it turned out. Good crew, good environment and Bobby was awesome. Had a vision of what I wanted and he took it to another level.

I did my first tattoo with Alma on Friday 13th. Came back and did the fill up and another one with Phillip. Now Im scheduled with Alma again for one more, both are amazing definitely recommend them both!

Long story short, I went in to get my septum pierced and the lady with the long orange hair messed up and placed it too high up in my nose. I called the owner and he let me come in and get it re-pierced by someone else. Im happy with the results now.

This is a very cool place. It’s clean, relaxed and folks here are helpful and friendly. Came in for a nose piercing and an additional piercing in each ear. Stinged a bit, but Johnny was awesome about it all. He made me feel comfortable. I will def be coming back 👍

I was on my way home from a week trip and I had taken my nose ring out. They were kind and courteous, got me in and our quickly. Since he was redoing an existing hole he only charged for the jewelry and it made my day. Clean and nice inside the shop, just wish I would have tipped him more 😂

I spoke to one of the artist about getting some piercings done and was told that they would be contacting me about a time. I waited a week and decided to contact them and ended up getting no reply. I ended up having to reach out again and was told a time. A few minutes before my appointment I texted again to verify and was told “she was feeling under the weather”. Honestly find another shop. Very very unprofessional and a waist of time.

I got a tattoo fixed from an award winning artist, and will be returning to the shop for all future work I want. This place is clean, professional, fair priceces and staffed with friendly people. The shop is a little hidden away but dont let the location fool you this is the shop for excellent art and work guaranteed.

Worst customer service ever. I went in to have a piece of jewelry I bought in Santa Barbara placed and felt so uncomfortable during my interactions. It was like they were pained to be interacting with me. The piercer thought he knew everything (that my piercing closed up- it’s been 13 years, and the jewelry was too big for my hole- it fit up until this morning when I knocked it out by playing with it.) and then was told it would be 20 bucks. That was the tipping point- I walked out. No one smiled or was nice in anyway. Plus the shop is dirty. Avoid.

So I got a tattoo of the Aztec calender on my chest and half ways going to my left arm fair price and I knew the guy was on drugs when he was about to do it but didnt tell him anything long story short it came out ugly I expected better from him i think his name was(Pancho) totally ruined my night had to smoke a fat joint right after to get it over with never coming here again now I have to get a cover up:/ BEWARE PEOPLE!!!

Awesome place I would recommend anyone to go. Tattoo artist Capone made my tattoo look well detailed and with his own ideas only made it look better then what I could have expected.

THE piercing was great only problem was the NOSE ring was too long so I have to change that. THE tattoo was good but the NOSE was a little crooked, besides super cute.

I didnt like the fact that andrew didnt do what i wanted as a tattoo and only half of the wolf came out great the other hlaf even after he had a second attempt to fix it he faild he aint no Jeffrey thats for sure i dont recommend him has no vision or know hows on how to fix his over shadding i will never get anything done by him it is what it is unhappy with my tattoo of a wolf on my arm
