Twin Tides Tattoo

I have been tattooed more than 5 times at Twin Tides Tattoo and have never had a more positive tattoo experience. All the artists and owner ensure that everyone is comfortable, and there is no judgments whether you’re getting a tiny tattoo or a full back piece. My artist, Emmett Anderson, is an extraordinary artist who ensures every piece is custom, well crafted for the placement, and beautifully executed. I have referred many family members and friends, all who have let me know of their “10/10” experiences at Twin Tides. I look forward to watching them continue to provide by far the best tattoo work in the Hudson Valley.

I have to say, Nick, at Twin Tides Tattoo did an amazing job making my grandmothers handwriting exactly as written on the card she wrote me at 11 y/o, come to life on my arm as I had always pictured. The process was approached after a google search and looking at other great reviews from previous customers. I was nervous because I didnt want to rush into it and regret it. He took his time, but it was not too long whatsoever. He made sure I didnt tweak the handwriting imperfections and keep it as genuine as possible. I also made sure to write this review after the healing was done. Im still very happy and likely going back to see Nick again for more tattoo ideas Id like to come to life as I have pictured them. Go see Nick if your are looking for fine line perfectionism of genuine tattoo ideas.

Twin Tides is truly an amazing tattoo shop and business. I was fortunate enough to meet all the guys at the shop and they are all extremely skilled, professional and overall just really awesome people. My artist was Nick, he is new to the shop, but by no means new to the art of tattooing. I was beyond impressed with how all the pieces came out and can’t recommend him enough. This will be my new go-to tattoo shop.

Hands down the best tattoo shop out there! I’ve been getting tattooed pretty regularly by Shish at Twin Tides Tattoo for quite a few years now, and he absolutely kills it with each piece he does. Not only is he an amazingly talented artist; he’s also just a kind, chill dude who goes out of his way to make sure you’re comfortable when he’s working on you.While I’ve only ever been tattooed by Shish here, everyone else at the shop seems super awesome as well. Every piece I’ve seen walk out of this place, regardless of artist, has been absolutely top notch.The shop itself is super clean, comfy, and welcoming. I would highly recommend Twin Tides to anyone who asks. Everything from the atmosphere, the artists, even the freaking bathroom is awesome. From the moment you walk into the door you feel welcomed in. I got my tattoo done by Dave and I’ve got nothing but good things to say about him and his work. You can tell that everyone in there cares about and loves what they do. Everything was very clean and professional. I not only got to experience my own tattoo being done but saw the other artists at work and everything looked phenomenal. I truly have nothing but praise for the shop and all the artists there. Shish is a tattoo genius. The shop is beautifully clean and decorated. The staff is helpful and kind. The toilet had a heated seat and bidet. I have yet to see a bad tattoo from them or hear a complaint. Look at this tattoo Shish is doing for me! It’s not done yet but I know it’s going to be incredible. Go to Twin Tides but book ahead of time because they are very busy, and for good reason!

I am a repeat customer. I have had 3 tattoos done by the owner Mike. The shop is spotless , clean and well maintained. Mike is very professional and takes the time to listen what you are looking for. The best experience I’ve had yet. I have a tattoo done by an other artist from a different studio, but Emmett is by far the nicest and most professional artist that I’ve worked with. I could tell he put in a lot of time/effort into my design and came very prepared for my appointment. He’s also done almost all of my boyfriends tattoos and to see his versatility from style to style is awesome— Emmett is so talented!!! I started getting tattooed by Mike on a whim in 2016 when I came in for a walk in appointment for a sternum tattoo. I have been getting tattooed exclusively by him ever sense. Currently I live 3 1/2 hours from his studio, and I still make day trips to get tattooed by him, it’s 200% worth it. I recommend him to everyone I know! All of my tattoos done by him always get tons of compliments. He is extremely talented at what he does, he’s super professional, and overall a wonderful guy! Now my husband gets his tattoos done by Mike as well. Make the appointment, you won’t regret it!

Mike is a true artist and a fantastic dude to work with. 11/10 would recommend. i’ve been working with mike for the last 9 years and he never ceases to amaze. he has created 9 large pieces on me over the years and every one of them still looks as good as it did on day 1.

I followed Mike from HVTC where he helped build one of the best shops in the Valley. I truly believe he’s about to do it again. The shop is beautiful, and everything flows and goes together. You can really tell love, thought, and time went into every detail. Twin Tides is my spot from now on! Mike has done another piece on my leg, a picture of my dog dressed as a geisha. Most recently we started a Hudson Hornet! Can’t wait to see this one finished.

I highly recommend Twin Tides! Ive been working with Mike since July 2022, and he never fails to impress me. First of all, the vibe of the shop is top tier. Where do you get started with twin tides, shish did two of my tattoos. He listens to his clients and makes recommendations while being extremely professional. I’ve visited Shish quite a few times now and he has been nothing but the best. Whenever I have an idea for him, he knows how to bring it to fruition in ways that blow my mind time after time. He has such a wide variety of styles that he has mastered, but I, personally, have only gotten black and grey and have never been anything less than stoked when leaving his shop. Aside from his talent, the environment in Twin Tides Tattoos is always incredibly welcoming. Lots of laughs and good times in that shop. Everyone who works there is incredibly talented and they all have a way of making it the best possible experience. I couldn’t imagine going anywhere else when getting permanent art on my body.

Two people I knew had mentioned Twin Tides to me. I have not seen much good work in this area so I had to check out their artwork and website. I contacted them first by email, the next day I received a response to come in person and speak with the artists about what I was inquiring about. So I went into the shop and greeted by the whole staff, which was cool. Everyone was very friendly. They asked me right away about what I was looking for. I told them my dream that I had twice, and how it had to be black and grey wash and that I wanted the artist to create their interpretation of my vision/dream. One of the many artist in Twin Tides spoke up and said he can make it happen. The placement is on the neck, and not everyone can do the neck. But that was no problem for Emmett. Being once a tattoo artist myself I was feeling the vibe as I was shown a neck piece that he did recently and I was impressed by the line work and detail. I told him let’s do it and explained to him I wanted him to recreate my vision and put his artistic spin on it. Emmett scheduled me very quickly to come back to get my new artwork and that i was also pleased with, as many shops these days have 3-4 month waiting lists( not that I was in a rush, but I did have these dreams back to back and had to get a jump on the vision). When I came in for the tattoo I felt comfortable and knew I was in good hands. Once Emmett showed me the drawing he had came up with and put his spin on the dream, I have to say I loved where he took it. He was very clean, and his practices as well were very clean. Once we got started he had a soft hand and was extremely professional. He offered me breaks and he asked if I was ok, I asked him if he was ok and I thought he may have thought that I was crazy, but he replied yes, lol. I know as a artist you get people that sometimes have to take many breaks, can be rude, annoying and I wanted him to know that I am not one of those annoying customers. I told him to take his time, no rush, and that he can take as many breaks as he needed and that I am good as long as he is good. At the end of the tattoo I was very happy and pleased. His line work is amazing, his shading on point and the tattoo looks flawless. I would like to Thank him again on this review and I will be seeing him again very soon. My friends have seen my neck work and absolutely loved it! So guess what Emmett I will be seeing you soon right along with my crew. Got my new artist, as one of my best friends who I tattooed with and did most of my worked passed away last year, and I refused to let just anyone touch me especially the neck. Honestly its not only just the atmosphere here, they have the best artists in the area. I have been getting tattooed by Mike (Shish) for over 6 years now and I cant express enough how amazing his work is. Mike, Tommy, and the Twin Tides family are true professionals and artists in the tattoo industry. Their shop is beautiful, clean, and inviting. Their art is personal, unique, and detailed. Between the permanent artists and the guest spots they often host Twin Tides covers a lot of different styles including American Traditional, Neo Traditional, Japanese, and South Asian tattoos (Mike is the only artist I would trust with my Sri Lankan raksha mask tattoos). Ive been tattooed by both Mike & Tommy and Ive since considered Twin Tides to be my go-to shop. I came for the art, stayed for the people.

I can confidently say that this will become a regular spot for me. I got my first tattoo done by Mike, who was awesome! The service was amazing and the environment was super friendly! Mike did his best to make sure I got exactly what I wanted and even added few touches to make the piece really special. He didnt make me feel bad for wanting to get something small, simple and pretty, which made the experience that much better. The owner of this shop, Mike gave me my first professional tattoo. I couldn’t say enough good things about the experience. He is able to succeed at so many varying styles of designs, and flawlessly transfers them from paper to skin. I’ve been in the shop 3x so far. The first to make my appointment, the second for my first session and the third for my second and final session. Each time there I was treated like family. Offered capri Sun and after traveling the first time I stopped in, I had to use the bathroom bad! They have an amazing bathroom. Tommy did my memorial tattoo for my mother and grandmother. The artistry is amazing and brought my dream to life! The finished product is better than I imagined. The dot shading is impeccable. These guys are amazing! I found my new tattoo home!

Shish is one of the best tattoo artists Ive ever met. Not only for his immense artistic talent at tattooing but also for his dedication to customer service and satisfaction. When you talk to him you get a very real and authentic sense that he wants you there and enjoys giving you the perfect piece of art that you will love looking at all the years of your life.I have gone to many artists that made me feel extremely condescended to, like they knew better than I did what I wanted. Or like what I wanted to do was stupid. Such a turn off, do I need to say I walked out of these shops and never returned? Shish gave me my first tattoo today and I could not be more ecstatic. I got my grandfathers hunting knife and it looks impeccable. I’ve been going to Mike for YEARS! The quality of his tattoo’s are unreal. He takes his time, meticulous, clean. Half of my body is covered in his work. He’s the best it gets in the Hudson Valley/ NY area. I’ve sent a lot of people his way and there’s never been a complaint. Highly recommend this tattoo shop and tattoo artist!

I have gotten tattooed by Shish for years now, as he did a full leg sleeve (fruits and vegetables) for me. Shish is by far one of the greatest, most genuine dudes and he makes the entire tattoo process an incredible one. Amazing words can’t describe how amazing this was. Shish was so nice and was so open helped me really get what I wanted out of this tattoo.
