I came to Charon Art hoping to get a rather large cover up on the back of my arm running from just above the wrist to just below the shoulder. I was half expecting a no, which is the response I had received from two other artist I had consulted with. Leah not only said yes but did so with great enthusiasm. She was very open to the idea and did a great job interpreting what I was asking for into a viable design.The studio itself has more of an art studio vibe the traditional or modern studios Im used to. I like the vibe of the place and it found it very relaxing.Day of the appointment it took about 15 from when I walked through to door for Leah to draw on the design we discussed in the consultation and for me to be on the table. She was great about communicating throughout the process and flexible with breaks when I needed them. The tattoo came out great and Im glad I found Charon Arts.

Love this place. McKenzie was super helpful, listened to what we wanted and put her individual touches on the design we wanted for our sister Family Tree tattoo. She was very patient. Will deffienly go choose her again for my next tattoo.

I cannot recommend Charon Arts Visionary Tattoo enough!!!!! Pioneer Valley has a hidden gem here...anyone who is looking for stunning organic artwork with a spiritual sensibility, you have found your place!My tattoo experience exceeded my expectations. First, great communication--Leah asked really good questions and was great and accepting and adapting feedback when we were planning my design. She was attentive and worked collaboratively with me to make sure the drawing expressed my vision. I found that Leah was able to incorporate her own artistic style into my design without compromising what I was looking for...shes so adaptable!The studio itself is beautiful--filled with artworks in the gallery in the front, and I was greeted by the smell of sage, bowls of crystals, and relaxing music. The tatto bed is under a sky light which is a nice touch! Leah made sure I was comfortable. In past work, weve even incorporated reiki into the tattoo process!Leah was happy to make adjustments to make sure we got placement and the arms of the cactus in my tattoo just right. Nothing felt rushed. As an artist, she has a super light touch!! This was maybe the best part of working with her--this was honestly one of the least painful and quickest healing tattoos Ive ever had in my life!The piece healed beautifully...I love the different line weights and the free-flowing lines that Leah used.Squiggly, organic, and flowing lines that move across the body are definitely her specialty! I feel shes able to imbue her artwork with a visual sense of reverence for the sacredness and the vibration of life.Definitely an A+ experience for me!!!

This was written by a client OrionAnd now for my official review of Charon Art. I will say that i love my newest ink done by Leah. It is a great tattoo and she nailed the drawing first try. The picture below speaks for itself as far as her art skills go. So here are some other reasons to check Charon Art out if you havent yet.1) If its your first tatt, then you will appreciate the open and bright studio as it totally gets rid of the anxiety involved. you know what i mean if you have ever walked into a dark dingy body mod shop looking for your first.2) Leah and her apprentice Simone both have great attitudes! i have walked out of more shops then i have been worked on based off attitude alone. No one likes snobby artist and luckily you wont find any at Charon Art3) A great deal! With tattoo artist upping there prices constantly, it was refreshing to have someone do excellent quality work at a fair price and at a good pace! Both pieces i have seen done were done quicker then i thought even with me blabbering the whole time!4) And of course a clean and sterile environment will have you feeling easy!Thanks again Leah and we will see you soon!

I went to Charon Visual Art Tattoo for a touch up on my old tattoo. Leah did an awesome job on that one and my new one. The place is very clean and very talented artists. If youre thinking about a tattoo, I highly recommend going in, even if just for a consultation.

Not only do the women at Charon Art do beautiful work, they create a comfortable and welcoming environment. From the start of my consultation with Leah I felt she was interested in and understood what I was looking for in a tattoo. She created a visual expression of the elements that I wanted included and she made space for a healing and transformative experience.

I’ve waited nine months to post a review, and I’m still really disappointed in the tattoo and the service I got from Leah at Charon Art. I would rate her professionalism as low. First of all, the tattoo is not at all what I was hoping for. I really wish that Leah had taken more time to talk with me about what it would actually look like. She was not communicative or responsive to my questions about the tattoo by email. She moved through the whole process too quickly without enough attention to detail. From the colors to the dimensions of the tattoo, it just wasn’t well thought out. Also, she didn’t follow the stencil and part of the design was completely missed. When I went back to have her correct it, she told her friend in the studio “This won’t take long” before she even spoke to me about what I needed done! She asked me if she could make the changes by hand (the S,E,W lettering and the northern arrow), and I stupidly said yes which was a mistake. I let her cut corners on my tattoo and as a result it looks cheap and haphazard.She also overcharged me. She took a deposit (I believe it was $60) on the date of consultation, and told me it would go toward the total price which would be based on the time it took to complete the tattoo. Then on the day of the tattoo, she charged me for the full time as if I had not given the deposit.I obviously was too passive in this situation. I was hoping to have a tattooing experience that was about art and spiritual expression, and since the studio space was lovely and inspiring I hoped this was the right fit. I gave Leah the benefit of the doubt because I didn’t feel comfortable going to a typical tattoo parlor. I am just so disappointed in her failure to take my tattoo seriously. I am going to have to go somewhere else for a cover up.

I got a tattoo that I was a little scared to get because of the place that I wanted it and because of this amazing woman she made it such a great experience. I went in yesterday to get my favorite tv show tatted on me and I had such a great time that I will remember it for a very long time. Makenzie did a great job, and she is such a fun person!

Charon is an excellent artist!!! her color work is astounding. she has a light, fast hand. her work heals well and has very good staying power years later. HIGHLY recommend.

Ive been here twice and enjoyed everything about it both times. Very kind and professional and does good work.Inside is clean and well decorated everything was very sanitary-- had an arm and back done 4 years apart. First in 2015 and then most recently In January of 2019.
