I came in as a walk in with a group for a birthday but everyone was so welcoming and friendly! The majority of everyone left with a piercing, Kylee took care of us and did an amazing job explaining and of course the piercing(s). For future piercings coming back I wouldn’t give a second thought! I’d recommend to everyone if asked.

I got both of my nostrils, smiley and eyebrow pierced by Kylee and it’s by far the best piercings I’ve ever gotten. They healed so perfectly and she placed my nostrils so symmetrical I don’t think they could get any more perfect, Ive had absolutely no problems with them, the entire time she made sure I was completely comfortable, I definitely freaked out a little bit but she was so sweet, caring and patient about it. I would definitely recommend going to her especially after going to her multiple times. 🫶🫶

Ray Ray is the best. Hes the only piercer I trust to do my piercings. I got my daith done today by him and he was great, told me what he was doing as he was doing it and gave me an info pamphlet. :D (review updated 2024)(Original review 2022): I was nervous at first because of the couple bad reviews I was seeing about the guy who didn’t know what he was doing. But the piercer they have now, Ray Ray, is absolutely awesome. He informed me of what he was doing as he was doing it and even gave me an aftercare pamphlet. I definitely recommend 👍They also have a notary there now so you don’t have to go somewhere else to get the piercing slip signed.

Kylee is amazing and super sweet, I loved how she made me comfortable and was honest about placement and worked with me to make sure my piercings came out pretty :) She did my nose piercing a few months ago, and today she did my tragus and helix. I love how they turned out! I was comfortable and relaxed and she made it such a good experience ❤️

Ray Ray did a wonderful job helping fix a horribly infected nose piercing after getting it done incorrectly at another store. Extremely patient and understanding and made me feel 100% comfortable in an uncomfortable situation. Won’t go anywhere else for any piercing needs!

Got my belly button pierced by Ray Ray. He was very professional and caring. Gave very thorough directions on how to care for your piercing as well as his personal number for questions or concerns. He really makes sure you love your piercing before you leave and makes sure you leave with no questions unanswered. Prices were very reasonable. Sends you off with a pamphlet about all of the information and size of your piercing.

Kylee hs done my conch, belly button, and industrial and I absolutely love them all! She’s such a kind person and a great piercer. They’ve all been super quick and as painless as possible. I got my ears pierced by kylee, all four piercings were uneven. no diss to her she is very sweet but rayray ended up fixing them. i would recommend going to ray for piercings, good vibes, very professional and always provides good work.

Our daughter got her ears pierced for her seventh birthday. Ray Ray was absolutely amazing. He made sure she was comfortable, let her pick her jewelry, and made sure that my husband and I were comfortable with the dots he placed on her ears. He was easy going, fun to talk to, and patient when she shed a few tears. Had a great experience with Kylee today! She pierced my daughters nose and changed out my nose ring for me. She was super sweet and explained everything thoroughly. I’ve had a lot of piercings and it can be intimidating sometimes for women in tattoo shops but I’ve always felt comfortable coming here! I plan to go back for any piercings.

Great experience! My sisters and I wanted sibling tattoos. We each got a roman numerial and my youngest sister got a navel piercing in addition to her tattoo. The prices were very fair. Joe, Rick and Mike were all friendly and very knowledgeable and extremely patient. They offered recommendations when we asked and we felt like they were giving genuine advice. They were even honest about the level of pain we would feel. I highly recommend them again. PS- Pay cash and tip the artist! Theyre worth it!

Had a really great experience just calling and walking in to this tattoo shop to get a nose piercing. Very good customer service at the front desk. Cool shop browse or get to whatever you need for aftercare of your tattoo or piercing. Ray Ray was very professional and great at explaining the process. I don’t live in Tampa at all, I was there actually for a protest to bring attention to the atrocities being committed towards Palestinians. While there, two hours away from home, my nose ring came out and when I tried to put a new one in it started bleeding. This shop came up with great reviews and near by. Kylee was a complete doll, she was able to help me last minute and was so gentle with putting in a new piercing while it was damaged and I didn’t feel a thing. Best energy ever. 10/10 recommend this shop everyone was so great. And the pricing is more than fair!!

I had a great experienceWalked up. Got a quote, Mario started right away. True to his word on timing. I had to get my son so he understood. Also I asked for him to cover up what I had and make no discernable shapes as I no longer wanted tattos in a design. He did a great job! Price was great. Im so happy

Ray Ray is amazing- kind and patient. He pierced ears for a 5yr old, 8 year old, and 14 year old. The 5 yr old shed a tear for a second, the other two - not even a tear. He treated these kiddos like they were his own. Highly recommend!

Ray ray pierced my daughters ears. The experience was SOLID! Better bed side manner than most hospitals! He took his time talked to my daughter, and recognized that she is an individual with her own feelings and thoughts. We pierced one , then she wasn’t about the next one . Upon getting home she wanted the next one done . Day 2 was a struggle but rayray legit held it down. Again he kept his cool and was able to get the job down. It took awhile but not once did we feel pressured or as if we were an annoyance. Clean, cool calm and collected . Highly recommend giving this establishment business.

I went for upper earlobe piercings. Ray Ray was super kind and professional. He explained everything he was going to do beforehand, and gave me options and opinions when he noticed that my first earlobe piercings (not done here) were done unevenly. They came out great and there was no pain at all! I definitely want more piercings in the future and will absolutely come back to him next time.

Last week I went to get my nose pierced at hot box tattoo. I was so nervous I wanted to do it for years but was too afraid to it , so last week I finally did it , Ray Ray was amazing he calm me down and explain the whole process, by the time I close my eyes I was done. I went for a nose piercing and I was a bit anxious, because I had it done years before with a lot of pain. I didnt catch the name of the guy at the front desk, but he was very prompt and friendly and helped me relax a bit. Then I met Ray Ray and he was very patient, calm, didnt treat me like a nitwit and the piercing was over before I knew it with barely any pain and it is perfect. IMO, this is the place to go if you want professionalism and respect. Thanks Hot Box!!

I took my daughter here to get her nose piercing 2 months ago based on the great reviews. Mike is absolutely awesome. He is very nice, knowledgeable and put my daughter at ease. The piercing healed beautifully. I just took my daughter back to Mike today to get her navel piercing and my son to have his gauges done. Recommend 100%.

Im so glad I happened to stop by and inquire about piercings. My daughter got her septum pierced, I got my industrial, my sister in law got a double nose, and my friend got her eyebrow pierced. Ray Ray was amazing! He was very thorough with the aftercare instructions and even explained that some of our other piercings my just need to be tapered instead of pierced. My sister in a law was able to get her tongue and lip tapered so she didnt have to get them pierced again. I will definitely be going back after I get done breastfeeding to see if I can get my nipples tapered. The tattoo artist there does amazing work and gave me a great price for some of the stuff I want done. I dont think Ill go anywhere else!

Got my nose pierced with Mike today. He did such a great job, he made me feel comfortable and relaxed. He was very knowledgeable and answered all my questions. Everything was super clean, everything came from sterile packaging and he changed his gloves a billion times to grab different equipment. (I’ve had my nose pierced before, we thought we might get it through with no needle. Stubborn nose!) The best price and the best service I’ve ever received for a piercing. They have quality jewelry and unparalleled talent. I could not recommend a better shop!

My 4 year old granddaughter has had her ears pierced a handful of times (with the piercing gun in malls). Her ears always became infected and we would have to remove the earrings. I decided this time I was going to have them pierced by a professional. I was referred to Hot Box by a friend who had the same experience with her daughter. My granddaughter was petrified. Screaming and crying, but Ray was so patient and professional. He made her comfortable and did everything possible for her to have a great experience. 3 weeks later and her earrings have held up with no infection. I definitely recommend this place and Ray!

This place is a hidden gem!! I had the pleasure of the owner tapering a couple of my old piercings that I thought were closed up. He was very informative on aftercare and what the difference of tapering and repiercing was and even about the jewelry!! He was super gentle and told me what he was doing step by step. He listened to what I wanted and what I didn’t want and helped me decide on what he thought would look best on me. Definitely a happy customer!

I got my nipples pierced just now by ray ray and omg it didn’t hurt at all seriously felt like a light pinch. Everyone says it hurts so bad and to not do it….. just do it especially with him he did awesome and he made me feel comfortable especially getting my nipples pierced he was really respectful and walked me through what he was doing. Again do it if ur thinking about it.

I came to get a piercing re pierced for a third time (two OTHER piercing shops pierced me incorrectly) and I made my concerns clear to Mike, he was extremely understanding and explained step by step exactly how he would place it to correct it, how he would perform the piercing, and even explained what went wrong the two other times with the other shops. Piercing was fast, super comfortable, and perfectly sterile. He also fitted me with the correct size jewelry for another piercing. After the piercing process he made sure that I knew the proper way to clean and care for it. 10/10, great experience, sterile, almost painless (even though there was a LOT of scar tissue to get through) I have 23 piercings done by various shops and this is the most comfortable experience I’ve had so far.

Everyone here was extremely professional. Very accommodating, patient and talented. My two kids both got their first tattoos today. Coda tattooed my daughter and he really took extra care to make it smooth and enjoyable. His work is impeccable. Joe tattooed my son. He also took great care to explain the process and make it a great experience. His work is awesome and did a great traditional style piece. I cant say enough good things about Hot Box and the staff. Last Night, I along with my mother and sisters got piercing... Three nose piercings (Mom, God sister and I) my baby sister got a fancy lil belly piercing... Services provided by Katlyn were beyond my expectations... Shes very professional, knowledgeable and provided great customer service. Cleanliness was superb. Aftercare instructions were clear. She helped us remain calm and reassured us that the process was going to be a breeze... I cracked several jokes and she has sense of humor also... I would recommend anyone to go here for piercing... ❤️❤️

Came to this shop in a jiffy after having awful service at Atomic in Brandon. Fast, friendly service, and professional work. We were only in for 15-20 minutes for a horizontal eyebrow piercing. It looks great!I can say for sure this will be my go-to shop for my piercing needs from now on!

My son got his first piercing yesterday 4/14/19. Mike was so fantastic about it, very observant, knew my son was feeling a bit queasy and laid him down quick, got him water, gave him some fruit. He is personable, professional, super sterile, explained what he was doing, let about 5 of us in the room to watch. I also got my tragus done right after and I told him that he is amazing, I heard it more than felt it. 15 out of 5 stars. I will be going back for future piercings and ink. Im just going to start out by saying that Ive gotten my last three piercings from here. Mike who did my nose piercing and Caitlin who re-pierced my earlobes were amazing. I didnt feel a thing, I even had to ask when it was done thats how much I didnt feel it.The current piercing guy has no idea what hes doing. I wanted a second hole on my earlobe and not only did it hurt but the placement is wrong, its too low. A month later and its infected. I call to ask about it and they were just unprofessional and treated me like it was my fault and proceeded to act like it was a joke. Please be warned to NOT go here for a piercing. They will ruin your skin forever.

This place was amazing. Came in with a problem with my lip ring and they helped clean, fix, and redo my lip piercing. Made sure I was alright when I was getting woozy, let me lay down, eat some conday, and offered me drinks. My lip is feeling much better and the service was just amazing. Everyone was supper nice.

Friday the 13th is always fun but this place made it great, the wait wasn’t long at all and the people were all respectable tattooers and piercers. Ray Ray is who help my friend and I today and he did an AMAZING job made the processes very quick and as painless as it can be, they even include a pamphlet telling you the do’s and don’ts, how to clean it and what size your jewelry is and when you can change it.I will differently be coming back.

They may do good work, didnt care to spend the overpriced $ to find out.wanted a very simple tat that in my opinion (based on previous tats) should have been a buck fifty to maybe 175 and taken 1.5 hrs tops to do and was quoted 275/300 and 3 hrs in the chair. Nice shop but will look elsewhere.Appears to be more of a piercing shop to me

Been here for dermals in my back and navel. Mike does a great job and responds well to when things go wrong (another piercer didnt do my dermal top changes tight enough and they fell out). Hes professional and knowledgeable, which I appreciate most in a piercer.

Mike is fantastic!!!!! Came in for a double helix piercing on October 5th. I was extremely nervous at first, but my experience was great the piercings were damn near painless. I also received alot of compliments from people. If I decide to get another piercing I am coming back here. He is the only person I will let pierce my ears. Mike knows what he is doing and is very professional. Please do not go to Claires unless you want your piercings to be crooked/painful (My coworkers double helix piercing is crooked and she has constant pain). Her hoop earring does not lay right. Just go to Mike you will be a happier person.

Actually I went to another place prior to coming here looking for someone to remove a piercing that I got in Orlando and it kept on getting infected and swollen. Everything I possibly can do to keep it clean and so forth both it was just too small so the swelling could not go down. I walked into this place and thank god there was a piercing guy who knew exactly what he was doing and explained every step he was doing. Mike is totally awesome and made me feel very comfortable even tho my piercing was swollen and tender, he still did ther job without killing me lol. I highly recommend Mike If youre either going for an piercing exchange or just a piercing. He will make the experience as less painless as he can possibly be. Won a contest via Mels Facebook page and I was so excited because I had been wanting some work done by her for a long time. She was wonderful and worked with me financially and artistically every step of the way. I had something in mind that I knew she would do awesome at, but the end result was way better than I could have ever imagined. I have another tattoo done by someone else that took forever to heal, but the one Mel did was good to go in about 2 weeks or less. She far exceeded my expectations (which were pretty high in the first place). Since then, Ive recommended a few people to go check her out, and theyve been thrilled too.

He listened to what I wanted and worked with my budget with no judgement. His work is impeccable but his personality is even better. Definitely recommend and will be back.

Never get a belly piercing here because I guarantee you your piercing will get infected and your skin will start to grow over. In the stuff you’re supposed to clean with the dial soap doesn’t work at all. I really recommend not getting a piercing here because it’s just going to get infected.

I absolutely love Mel! I moved into the area a little over a year ago and was itching for my next tattoo. However I had no idea as to who to go to. I asked a few of my coworkers and researched the net and found Hot Box and specifically Mel. I convinced my sister (who also wanted another tattoo) to come with me to talk to her. We went in and she greeted us immediately. Very professional and gave us a lot of options. Prices were very decent too. She told us that we could email or bring in pics of what I wanted and she would draw it out since I didnt have a concrete idea.She totally lived up to her word. I brought in pics that were very (and I do mean very) lightly related to what I wanted done and told her of the general idea I had. She took about a week or so and emailed me a picture of a sketch that was so far beyond what I was picturing that I couldnt believe it. It was way better than what I had in mind and seemed to have been plucked from my brain and made 100x better. Worked with my schedule (it took 15 hours to get 2 half sleeves) and was very willing to make the few changes I requested. My sister ended up getting 2 half sleeves also and couldnt be happier with the results. I already have my next tattoo planned and Mel has already spoken to me about what she can do.If you have ever contemplated getting a tattoo then Hot Box is the place to go and Mel is the artist to use. It is kept very clean and the other people there are very nice. Also got a piercing done from Lenny who was extremely helpful and knowledgable. I still get stopped and asked questions and receive compliments about my tats. Cant recommend this place enough!

I can honestly say that Hot Box Tattoos is the BEST place to go for your piercing needs (and Ive been pierced at Angry Elephant and Atomic Tattoos). Ive had my dermal implant and my ear lobes pierced by Mike and Ive received top-notch customer service every single time. He is a true professional and knows exactly what hes doing.With my dermal implant, he was very honest about the risks and tried to discourage me from getting the implant in my finger, but I insisted and after following his after-care instructions exactly, its been four months and my implant is still intact and has not rejected. Mike really does have your best interests at heart and will not give you a risky piercing and take your money without educating you first.Yesterday, I went to get my lobes pierced and Mike was just as friendly and outgoing as the last time I saw him. He has this natural ability to make you feel relaxed and assured that you are in a safe and sterile environment for piercings. I honestly could go on and on about how great Hot Box is and I will definitely be returning for more piercings (and will look into getting old tattoos covered up as well).

Paid my deposit and planned an appointment a week ahead as a surprise for my best friend. Waited for an hour for the artist (Justin) to show. Then we left to get lunch to give him time to redeem himself and maybe show up to do his job. He still couldnt be bothered to show up. I couldnt get my deposit back and was told I would have to reschedule. Never ever was that going to happen. Ive gotten quite a few piercings from Mike there, and sadly will never in my life return. Hey Justin, eat a 🍆!

Went for an anniversary gift for my hubby. The guys who run the shop are funny, light hearted, and very talented! Core was my specialist. She was very thoughtful, thorough, and kind. Great convo with her that made my experience very easy going.

I was looking for a piercer to do two piercings on my ears. I read tons of reviews from this guy Mike at Hot Box tattoos. Reviews that said he was friendly and knowledgeable. I had a very different experience. What was supposed to be 30 mins ended up being 2 hours. He was friendly and made me feel comfortable, as we made easy conversation. However, everything after that was a torture show.I had a dinner to go to in an hour and I made him a. ware of this. He said it would be no problem. All of the initial preparation took about 15 mins. He pierced the first ear easily, but when it came to the second it was horrible. I had wanted an oribtal (the piercing spirals through two holes in the ear), so he had to line up the second piercing with a pre-existing one making it a bit harder for him. He put one end (the screw-on ball) of the bar on to the end 3 different times and it fell off every time (35 mins). He twisted and pulled my freshly pierced ear about 6 times trying to get the piercing through both holes with both ends on before i said can you put a hoop on it instead? (40 mins). So, he told me he was going to put a septum ring in it instead. I was sure that that ring was for your nose (the septum), but I trusted him since he was the professional. Well instead of putting the ring through just the fresh piercing, he tried to turn it vertically to go through both holes. The problem: he said he wanted to put another hole in my ear above the one that I had for years!! He wanted to pierce me again (which wouldnt have been evenly spaced at all) instead of getting a smaller ring!It gets worse. I asked him to put the ring I had in the old piercing back and just put a simple ring in the hole he had just pierced, except he lost my ring. He offered to replace it, so I forgave it. He used two of the same ring to fill both on the holes in my ear. The metal had to be twisted open and twisted back into place. This is where the real torture began. For the next 30 mins he was at my ear with two pliers (one in each hand) twisting the metal. It seemed to go on forever and it felt like the rings were secure, so I couldnt understand what he was doing. I finally got the courage to ask him, and he said he just wanted it to look prettier. I took the mirror and yes the rings werent perfectly pinched together, but I had been sitting on the table for 2 hours, I was late for my sisters birthday dinner, and I was in so much pain.In conclusion, Mike was not a good choice. Being friendly isnt the only requirement for a piercer. It seemed like he was an amateur. I would have proffered silent awkwardness over that hell any day.

Haaaate doing this, but... came in to have this ring put back in on a 1+ year healed nostril piercing. The ring isn’t closed enough and I didn’t think anything of it until my nose started hurting like CRAAZY this whole week. The hole was in my nose and feels like it got pierced all over again.Sloppy close job. Was also complimented the entire time I was in there and also proudly informed me you clean your booth before and after every client.. lol, like that’s not supposed to be protocol anyway. Was this ring sanitized before it was put in? I don’t even remember but my nose hurts a LOT now. Discharge for the last 3 days even after saline and antibacterial cream.Can’t vouch for the tattoos, but I’m not coming back for piercings - even just jewelry removal :/

I took a drawing into hot box. No color just an outline. Met with my artist Mel n went over everything. The drawing was to big for my arm so she resized it. I was afraid it would be to small. Size was actually perfect. Then this lady did her thing and DAMN! This simple little drawing she turned into the sickest tat! She added her flair to it and it came out crazy awesome! Clean lines. Deep perfectly placed shading. Crazy good color blends. All around perfection. Shes expensive, but if you want and demand a great looking tat, she is worth every damn penny. Professional, clean and listens to your input. Damn fine job Mel! The shop is nice n clean too.

Go see Joe at Hot Box Tattoos. I had an ugly tattoo on my right quad and no artist would touch it to do a cover up. I went to Joe and he immediately saw opportunity where others didnt. Joe then proceeded to do the absolute best tattoo I have ever had and it is a cover up!! Joe was very professional and walked me through his process, step by step. He made me feel at ease and did everything possible to make me comfortable during the procedure. I absolutely love my new ink and Joe has a customer for life!!!

I have been going to hot box since I got my nosed pierce when I was 16. I have gotten atleast 5 tattoos and a number of piercings there and I will never go any where else; especially since Atomic completely messed up 3 of my tattoos and several of my piercings that I had to get redone. I have gotten several tattoos done by Mel and she is the only person I will trust to permanently ink my skin. The prices are good and you dont have to pick something off the wall. I emailed Mel with an idea for a sleeve and sent her pictures of work I had already gotten done so she could design something that would flow nicely with what was already there. My friends have seen my tattoos and fly in from out of town to get work done at this shop. When it comes to any tattoo or piercing I suggest looking at the artists portfolios, they have those there on the front table so you can pick who you like.
